Chapter XIX: Unfinished Business On The Way To The Grand Hall!

On my way out of the Lapis Ward, I notice a few men on the Grand Stairway in the North Obsidia Ward, as well as a large crowd surrounding them, just like the crowd that was surrounding the Grand Stairway when it was blown up. Apparently, these men work for Silph Co, and they are selling a new product: The Link Stone! They advertise it really well, too. Here, I'll even show the advertising:

Are you tired of having to find potentially untrustworthy Trainers to trade your Pokemon with to evolve them? Are you as heartbroken as your Pokemon is when it has to be traded away from you just to grow? Your worries are over! The remarkable scientists of Silph Co have produced this marvelous new stone, infused with the very energy emitted in a real trade that can force a Pokemon to evolve while never leaving your care! This Link Stone will be hitting stores soon, but you all are a lucky bunch. Right here, right now, you can get a prototype edition fully-functional Link Stone for just $10,000! Be the first to try it!

They aren't kidding when they say it costs $10,000. Soon when I get more Pokemon, I'll decide who to evolve with this new stone. Hopefully, it will work like they say it does.

I head back down beneath the Grand Stairway, and then head left, because I can now use Rock Smash. I climb down the ladder, and stumble upon a Solrock. I climb back up, head right, and head up. I use rock smash, and find a tunnel with a man who smashes a rock. He tells me that underneath these shiny rocks are a rare items! He says that all I need is a pickaxe and shovel, and gives me a Mining Kit! He says that if you're not careful, the rock could collapse! As I explore the tunnel and dig up some items, I find a gate. I don't know where it leads, but I do know that I can't go past it. I dig up the last shiny rock, and leave the tunnel.

When I get down to the slides, I slide down to the far right, and find a few rocks to smash. I find a few good items, and I then head back up. I slide down the left this time, and there was only a rock, so I head back up.

I look everywhere for Lunatone, but alas, Lunatone isn't there. I head back to the surface, and since Charles is fully evolved into a Charizard, it's time to take on the Magma Gang's Leader, Maxwell! However, before I do that, I train my Pokemon up to level 40.

After training Underneath the Stairway, I head back to the Magma Gang Hideout, and confront Maxwell. You're going down, Maxwell!

Maxwell sends out Vulpix while I send out Persian. Persian uses Fake Out to flinch Vulpix, and then uses Cut to knock out Vulpix. Maxwell sends out Charmeleon, while I keep having Persian use Cut on Charmeleon. Just when I get close to knocking out Charmeleon, Maxie decides to heal Charmeleon with a few Super Potions. Eventually, he runs out of Super Potions, and I knock out Charmeleon with Cut. Maxie then tries to get his crap together and he sends out Houndoom. I use Cut one more time, and then Houndoom knocks out Persian with Thunder Fang. I send out Hydra, and lower Houndoom's Attack stat. Houndoom uses Thunder Fang, but it doesn't knock Hydra out. I use Aqua Tail, which nearly knocks out Houndoom, but then stupid Maxie decides to use Fire Fang. Really? Against a giant BEAST? NOPE! I finish off Houndoom with Aqua Tail, and defeat the Magma Gang!

Maxwell, or shall we say, Maxie, gets disappointed that he lost, and tells the rest of the Magma Gang to retreat for now. Arc declares that the mission was successful, and says that we'll be heading back to the Aqua Hideout now, hopefully unbothered by the Magma Gang.

I head back to the Aqua Hideout after healing my Pokemon, and I get congratulated by the Aqua Gang, and get my mission debriefing.

Mission Debriefing: Trevo, you performed exceedingly. I think it's time to present you with something... You're one of us now. You've earned this. It's kind of the Aqua Gang's mascot. Take care of it, okay? We'll see you around. With the Magma Gang out of the way, perhaps we can finally get back to normal...

What Arc gave me was a Carvanha, as a token of my loyalty to the Aqua Gang. I thank him for the Carvanha, and for allowing me to join the Aqua Gang, and I leave to train my new friend on the way to the Grand Hall.

Since there is nothing else to do here, I think it's time to head to the Grand Hall NOW.

Chapter XX: Swag Jockey Fern Would Like To Battle!

When I first go into the Grand Hall, I heal my Pokemon. And then I talk to the new people there, and watch TV for a bit. When I get to the desk to find Ame, I also find Fern, who's a big jerk as usual. Fern just came here to tell Ame about 'my little accident with the Beryl Gym Leader'. For all I know, Ame probably thinks I murdered Corey! I would never do that to somebody, ESPECIALLY to a man like Corey! However, Ame says the opposite. Instead of thinking I killed him, she was worried about Corey for this exact reason. Fern rushes Ame and says to tell Aya to be ready when he gets there. I guess Aya is the Poison Reserve Leader. Ame calls Aya, and Ame just COMPLETELY IGNORES ME.  THANKS, FERN!

Fern says that I look more confused than usual. He explains that every Reborn Gym needs a back-up Leader. He even tells me that HE'S the Grass-Reserve Leader who will replace Florina, should anything happen to her. Since Corey 'retired', Aya will take his place. According to Fern, Aya is some chick who lives in the Wasteland south Reborn City. Unfortunately for me, I need a key to get to the Wasteland. Sadly for me, FERN has a key. Fern already has three badges, and is about to have a fourth one. He then just completely talks trash about Shelly! He then starts to leave, and tells me good luck on finding the key to the wasteland. Just as he's about to leave, I ask him how he got a key, and all he says is that if I want the information, I'm going to have to beat him for it.

This is what you get for talking crap about Shelly!

Hotsh-- SWAG JOCKEY?!?! His Title changed from Hotshot to SWAG JOCKEY?!?! NO WONDER WHY HE IS A LOSER!!! Anyways, Swag Jockey Fern sends out Ferroseed, while I send out Carvanha. I switch out Carvanha for Charles, while Ferroseed weakly attacks with Pin Missile. Charles then proceeds to burn the heck out of his Ferroseed with Flame Burst, and knock it out. Fern sends out Ludiculo, while I send out Carvanha, and then send out Persian, while Ludiculo uses Water Gun on Persian. He must have thought I would send out Charles. NOPE! Persian uses Fake Out, which luckily gives Ludiculo a critical hit. I then Cut Ludiculo up, and knock out Ludiculo. Fern sends out Roserade, and I send out Carvanha, so I can switch into Charles, while Roserade attacks with Hidden Power. Charles attacks with Flame Burst, but it doesn't burn Roserade just yet. Fern heals Roserade with a HYPER Potion instead of using a cheap Super Potion. Lucky for me, the next Flame Burst ends up being a critical hit, and burns away Roserade. Fern sends out Servine, which I'm surprised he didn't just evolve it. I switch out to Carvanha, and then to Persian so I can be faster than Servine. Persian finishes off Servine with a couple of Cuts. It seems all Fern had was only one Hyper Potion, nothing else. The battle ends, and I brutally defeat Fern, who then calls me a noob.

Fern rants and says that I was cheap. He tells me all he knows about the key to the Wasteland. He says that the new Poison Gym Leader's a girl out in the wasteland, sure. However, it seems that Fern got the key from her brother! I seem to recall knowing who her brother is, but at the moment, I don't remember. Fern says that he's a real fruity looking guy. Decked out in purple, fishnets, looks more like a girl. Fern says that he's freaky, cause this guy wouldn't stop singing. Sounds like another guy I know. Aha! I remember now! Cain! Those two DO look similar, or so I'm told. Fern tells me that Cain is going up to the Beryl Cemetery for something. He says that if I want the key, I'm going to have to ask Cain for it. Fern then leaves, as he heads to the Byxbision Wasteland.

To the Beryl Cemetery!

Chapter XXI: Cain, Heather, And The Mysterious Dr. Sigmund Connal!

I head to the Jasper Ward, only to find that the officer who WOULD have gotten the Growlithe is upset that he doesn't have his Growlithe. Another fellow officer is trying to cheer him up by asking me to trade him a Growlithe so he can give that Growlithe to the poor fellow. I'm going to take matters into my own hands and get his Growlithe back from that Meteor grunt!

Well, I talk to the grunt, and it seems the only thing I can do is wait until I can find a Ditto to breed with Growlithe when I evolve it into an Arcanine. I then head on too the Beryl Ward. I head through the Beryl Bridge, and to the Abandoned Power Plant, but I can't get in, no matter what I do. I find a little boy and a Drifloon, but I'll come back for them later. Now, it's time to head to the Beryl Cemetery.

I head to the Beryl Cemetery, where I find Cain at a grave, which has just been added. It seems that this new grave is Corey's. Cain didn't expect to see me here, He came up here when he heard about what happened to the old Poison Leader... There's nothing anyone can do for him, but Cain says that he heard he left behind a daughter too. Rather, that she ran away... Cain wants to find her because he wants to take care of her, because it's a big thing, not having anyone to take care of you when you're young... He asks me why I'm here, and it's because I want the key to the Byxbysion Wasteland. However, he mistakes me for asking him out! Well, he's joking at least... He says that he's not really a fan of his sister, because well, she's all "grr." He then strikes a deal with me. If I beat him, he'll give me the key.

Sounds like a plan to me!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer83.png.d58d7a0175d1aa275c7934a55bee84c5.png

Cain still keeps his Pretty Boy reputation, as he is the fruitiest guy we all know and love. Cain sends out Dewott, while I send out Carvanha, and then switch into Hydra. While I keep using Bite, Cain has Dewott using moves that can barely even hit Hydra. Just when I have Dewott at his last life, Cain heals Dewott with a few Hyper Potions. So, I keep using Bite, and eventually knock out Dewott. Cain sends out Nidoking, which I'm surprised about because I thought he would save Nidoking for last. I switch Hydra out for Carvanha, and switch back into Hydra. While Nidoking uses Thrash on Hydra, I knock him out with Hydra's Aqua Tail. Cain sends out Venomoth, while I send out Carvanha and switch out Carvanha for Gardvoir. Gardevoir uses Calm Mind, and then knocks out Venomoth with Psychic. Cain sends out Grimer, who I just decide to end with Psychic. This battle was too easy!

Cain's disappointed he lost, because he doesn't really like giving away Byxbision Wasteland keys. However, a deal's a deal. He notices a girl behind me on top of a cave, and I notice, and find that it's Heather! Cain knows it's Heather too, and Heather wonders how he knows her name, and accuses him of doing anything to her parents. Cain apologizes, and introduces himself to her. He says that he is looking for her because he was worried about her. Heather says he can forget about worrying, because she says she is FINE, and she can be JUST FINE ALL BY HERSELF. Cain tells her to calm down, and he says that he only wanted to be friends with her. However, Heather cuts him off, and tells him to shut up. She says that she didn't ask for anything from him, and she says that she doesn't need anything... However, Cain says that she needs a friend. Heather calls him annoying, and says that she already has a friend. Cain asks who's her friend, and all she says is that her friend is a Gym Leader, and at least she doesn't ask so many stupid questions. Cain tries to calm her down, and says that her friend is probably worried, so Heather should probably go to her. Heather conforms to his request, and says only if it will get her away from him. She then takes flight on Salamence to the Lapis Ward. Cain then starts to sing about her being lonely. He says that he's going to go down to the Lapis Ward, and asks me if the Gym Leader is Shelly, which is indeed correct. He apparently doesn't give me the key, because now he's off chasing after her before she flies somewhere else!

I might as well go there too, but first, time to find whatever is in that cave!

I stumble upon the cave, and I find a long path, finding rocks to smash, and I find a ladder. I head down the ladder, only to find a room with two cages and a gate. I don't know where the gate leads to, but I head forward on my quest. I climb down the ladder, and head out of the cave. I find myself in the Rhodochrine Jungle, but in a different place. I find myself at the hive of the Nuzleafs, with Shiftry as their leader. I head forward, and they all spot me. Shiftry jumps from his (err, hers, I should say) throne, and lands right in front of me, so now I have to fight a Pokemon Gang again.

Well, more like Pokemon Tribe. I send out Charles and Wing Attack every single Nuzleaf, well also burned some because Charles disobeyed. When Shiftry comes out, I'm like "WHOA, that's one strong Shiftry." All of the Nuzleaf were between 20 and 35, but THIS? This Shiftry is level 55! Despite her intimidating level, Charles burned Shiftry to a crisp.

After the battle, Shiftry leaves with a few of her followers, leaving only five of them behind. These five Nuzleaf however, seem submissive to me. In fact, I can take ALL FIVE of the Nuzleaf! I wish you could throw more than 2 Pokemon in the Pokemon Daycare Center... Oh well! Time to head back to the Abandoned Power Plant to catch that Drifloon!

I head to the Abandoned Power plant, and battle Drifloon.

After I catch Drifloon, I talk the little boy, who assumes that it's safe to leave and go home. He lives in the Lapis Ward, and thinks it's safe to go home. PLEASE don't do what Corey did, little boy! He says I'm cool, and that I should visit sometime. Well that sometime is now, because I have to follow Cain and find Heather! He thanks me, and goes home.

I head to the Jasper Ward, heal my Pokemon, and find the Emolga that was flying around before, but now it's sleeping! Perfect time to catch Emolga! But just when I thought I could easily catch the sleeping squirrel, Emolga just wakes up, and attacks. Oh well, it's not like it has any offensive power against a GYARADOS! I weaken Emolga and catch it easily. I have no other need to stay here, so I follow the boy back to the Lapis Ward to find Cain and Heather.

I wander around the Lapis Ward after I arrive, and find the little boy's mother in a house, worried about her son. I relieve her by telling her that I found her son hanging around with a Drifloon. After I caught the Drifloon, the boy returned safely to the Lapis Ward. However, since he's not here, I have to go look for him. I'm going to go retrace my steps!

On my way back to the Jasper Ward, I find a Mime Jr. on the Opal Bridge. I talk to it, but it vanishes from me and goes behind me. I walk close to it again, but it runs away from me again! I walk to the other side of the bridge, and find Mime Jr. again, but it runs away AGAIN! As I get off of the Opal Bridge, I find Mime Jr. Again. And it runs away from me. Again. I find it on the bridge again, and it runs away again. THIS time, I go around the other side, and sneak up behind Mime Jr. However, I surprise the Mime Jr., and it attacks me. I catch the little mime, and I head to the Jasper Ward quickly.

I get to the Jasper Ward, and find that a Venipede Gang lead by Scolipede is attacking the little boy in a corner! The little boy cries out for help, and I'm just in time too. Scolipede turns around, and attacks me instead! Time to save a little boy, and lay waste to these worms!

Well, more like Pokemon Swarm. This place is SWARMING with Venipedes! I lay waste to the Venipedes by sending out Charles and knocking them out with Wing Attack. After dealing with them, Scolipede comes out to play. Unfortunately for me, Charles got poisoned from Venipede's Poison Point. Not only that, but Charles gets knocked out from a vicious Venoshock attack. I send out Gardevoir, and use Psychic to finish off Scolipede.

That battle didn't last long, because there were only three of them! The Venipede Swarm retreat, and the little boy is speechless. He then fan-boys about how awesome I am for saving him, and says that I took them on all by myself, and just keeps thanking me. Apparently, he was on his way home, and those things cornered him. However, he's sure he can make it home now, but I'm not too sure of that... He then thanks me again, and leaves. NOW I can go back to the Lapis Ward!

I head back to the Lapis Ward, and head into the little boy's house. What do I find? The little boy. Safe and Sound. GREAT! His mother thanks me so much for saving her baby. She says it's not much, but she gives me a Department Store Sticker. THAT IS WORTH SOMETHING!!! Apparently, the little boy now looks up to me as a role model. Anyways, with that side quest done, I leave.

I head to the Lapis Ward Gym and up Shelly's Room, and I find Cain, Heather, and Shelly. Heather yells at Cain some more, and wonders why he is following her. Cain tells her that it's not good to be alone right now, and Shelly agrees with him, saying that she's worried about Heather. Heather just tells Shelly to shut up, and asks her what kind of friend she is. Shelly tries to apologize, but Cain explains to Heather that she is hurt and confused, scared, and he gets it. He assures her it's okay, and says that he's been there too, but Heather tells him to just shut up, and says that he doesn't know her. Heather tries getting rid of Cain by showing him that Shelly is her friend. She asks Shelly if she's her friend, and Shelly says that Heather is her ONLY friend. Heather says that's good enough for Cain, and tries to get rid of him. She even tells Shelly to make BOTH me and Cain go away. Shelly apologizes, and tries to kick me out. Cain tells Heather that most friends don't boss each other around like that, but Heather tells him to not tell her what to do, even though he's not. All he's saying is that Shelly seems to be scared when Heather is yelling at her. He asks Shelly if she wants Heather to be nicer to her, and she agrees. Heather gets in a rage at Shelly, and stops being Shelly's friend. She accuses us of all ganging up on her, and she tries to leave, warning us not to stop her. Meanwhile Cain is a bit annoyed, but shakes it off. He tells me and Shelly to quickly chase after her and stop her, because she's only going to keep hurting herself like this. Shelly follows Cain out, and so will I!

I head out to find them, but I see them encountered by Dr. Sigmund and his orderlies. Heather yells at Sigmund to get out of her way, but he scolds her for speaking to him in a rude manner. Heather just tells him to shut up and move.  Sigmund asks her if her parents taught her any manners, but Cain steps in and tells him to lay off of Heather. Sigmund then takes Cain's sass, and says that he is a Doctor, not a 'geezer.' He worked many hours for that title, and in turn, he expects to be addressed appropriately. However, Cain respects his wish by calling him Dr. Geezer. Saying this causes Heather to laugh, something that Cain unexpectedly caused her to do. However, Heather tries defending her ego, and denies herself laughing, and says she had something stuck in her throat. Cain asks her if she had a giggle stuck in her throat, but before she can say anything, Sigmund breaks up their giddy humor by asking Heather where are her parents. Heather tells him to shut up about that, and Shelly tells Sigmund that Heather's parents aren't... here anymore... Sigmund finds this the opportunity to take Heather into his orphanage, but first he asks her who her caregiver is. Heather yells at him, and says that she doesn't need anyone, and that means Cain. Sigmund then says that he has a solution. He himself runs a service for the children of Reborn. He gives homes to those who have none. Food, Shelter- even many friends, just like us. He asks Heather if this sounds nice, but Heather says that she doesn't want anything from him. Sigmund says that she doesn't need to be rude, for he is offering her a home. He is offering her everything she needs to get her life back on track. He asks her, "Why do you resist?" Heather resists because Sigmund is a creep, and that no girl would ever want to be around him. Sigmund replies that it is she who does not have a choice. According to Sigmund, under Article 4, Section 9, Clause 3, Sigmund and his orderlies are responsible for the actions of all orphaned children in the city of Reborn, wherein the status of an orphan is defined as one who has no living parents nor legal guardians willing and capable of providing subject. Also according to Dr. Sigmund, under Article 7, Section 2, Clause 2, Sigmund and his orderlies are granted authority to adopt into custody any discovered orphan within the city limits, provided he or she cannot produce legal documentation of guardianship in or outside of the municipal district. He has no choice, but he tells his orderlies to seize her. However, Cain sasses Sigmund and tells him to back off. Heather demands the orderlies to let go of her, but Sigmund orders them to take her, and threatens us not to interfere. According to Sigmund, physical interruption to this procedure qualifies as both personal assault as well as severe delinquency detrimental to standard city functions, and can and will result in a lawsuit against our names, followed by a criminal record. After taking away Heather, he tells us to have a good day.

Cain wonders what's Sigmund's deal, and Shelly realized that she was the one who got Heather kidnapped. Shelly then runs back to her Gym, with Cain chasing after her. I chase after them, and find them back in Shelly's Room.

When I find them, Shelly is slamming her head in self pity for opening up her mouth to Sigmund about Heather's parents. Cain tells her not to blame herself for what the creep does, because he's his own demon. Cain says it was his own fault too, because he chased her out of here. However, he wants to help too. Shelly is afraid that Heather is going to be mad, and says that she is a bad friend to Heather. However, Cain reassures her, and says that she was there for her, and that's what friends do. He then sings a little tune, and cheers up Shelly, and confuses her at the same time. He says that we have to take a stand to Sigmund. We have to infiltrate the orphanage, and bust Heather out. Shelly asks, "Won't we be in trouble?" Cain admits she's right, but Heather's already in trouble, so we have to take that chance.

Meanwhile...

Heather is taken to a room where she is held down by Dr. Sigmund's orderlies, due to her behavior. He then tells his orderlies to begin treatment at 100 volts. Heather yells at Sigmund and says that he'll never get away with this. Sigmund changes his mind, and makes that 110 volts, and to bind her as well. He tells Heather to hold still... for she might feel a little shock... They proceed to shock her, as Heather is screaming in pain...

Cain asks us if we heard anything, and all I heard was Heather screaming. It seems Shelly and Cain heard it too. Cain then says that we should hurry, and says that he'll meet us in front of the orphanage. Shelly follows Cain out, and so I guess I will too.

We're going to bust out Heather... Tonight.

Well, Charles certainly went over the limit. There were quite a few Pokemon Swarms in this chapter too. Plus, there were plenty of Pokemon to catch! Next chapter, I'm going to finally see what the Doctor's been hiding in that little shack of a building he has. Oh, and Carvanha leveled up too.

Wow this game has inspired you big time. I normally take long showers when I get inspired to write something awesome. I once took a shower that lasted 45 min and wrote a speech for my speech class, everybody was speechless and my teacher, from that say on, tried to get me to join the debate team. Any ways great story can't story, and I can't wait for more.

It seems that I AM inspired by this game, aren't I? I should really be thanking Ame for all of this. Because of her and her glorious designs, she made what I call: The Best Fanmade Pokemon Game EVER. Speaking of stories... I should REALLY get back to making some more chapters for Pokemon Black 2 soon. After all, Pokemon X and Y are creeping up real close. I'm glad that you guys all like my story too! Hope you guys stay tuned for what's yet to come!

Chapter XXII: The Call Of Freedom!

The Next Morning...

After a good night's sleep, I am ready to infiltrate Dr. Sigmund's mysterious orphanage, and bust Heather out. I head to the front where Cain and Shelly are, and I find that the orphanage is still locked, according to Shelly and Cain. However, when I try to open the door, a click unlocks the door. When I come in, I find that Anna opened the door for me! Cain says that the door was JUST locked, and he and Shelly both tried it! However, apparently she saw my glowiness through the wall, so she unlocked the door. Cain wonders what glowiness is, and Anna says that I glow! She introduces herself to Cain and Shelly, and Cain and Shelly introduce themselves to Anna. Cain comments that Anna is peppy, but Noel says that she always is, and always when it's least appropriate. However, according to Anna, when it's least appropriate is when it's most necessary! Charlotte asks us why we're here, and assumes it's for the other girl that was just brought in. Anna remarks that the girl was kicking and screaming the whole way, not that that's unusual... Shelly tells the orphans that we are going to save the poor girl. Cain says that it's a prison break, and asks them if they want to come. Charlotte asks him if it's a question, because if she has a chance to get out of here, she's gone. Shelly replies that we're not leaving without Heather. Charlotte says that of course we're not. Besides, it's only a matter of seconds until the orderlies notice us and toss us out. Noel tells us that all of the orphans' Pokemon were confiscated, so we're going to be seriously out-numbered. Charlotte says that he's not kidding, and tells us that she can take care of a few of the orderlies for us, but if we don't come back for her, SHE WILL find us. Anna asks Charlotte what is she doing, but Charlotte says that she's going to create a diversion.

Charlotte then goes over and makes a diversion by taunting the orderlies, and asks for her cigarettes. The orderly replies that she knows they can't do that, but she doesn't care, she keeps demanding for her cigarettes. The orderlies try to ask her to calm down, but she says that she'll calm down when she gets her smokes, and questions that what are they going to do, throw her in the Circuit? She taunts them some more, and that's just what the orderlies do. She DID ask for it, after all. She taunts them to try her, and that's just what they do. They grab her, and she bites one of them in retaliation. They try to restrain her, and they try getting her in the Circuit.

Cain asks Anna what the Circuit is, but she says that the Circuit is where they put the really bad kids to be alone... Unfortunately, one of the orderlies spot us, and they come after us. They tell us that it's currently outside of visiting hours, and they ask us to leave. Cain says that we're going to have to decline their offer, and tell me and Shelly to attack the orderlies. And that is just what we do. We battle.

While Cain and Shelly deal with the orderlies from the left and right, I battle the orderly in the middle. He sends out a Klink, while I send out Charles. Charles knocks out Klink easily, but it takes time because Charles disobeys. After Klink gets knocked out, the orderly sends out a Slowpoke, while I switch out Charles for Hydra. Hydra uses a couple of Bites on Slowpoke, and then Slowpoke gets knocked out. The orderly then sends out Elgyem, but one Bite does the trick.

After I defeat the orderly, Cain and Shelly beat the other orderlies too. Shelly is surprised we beat them, but the orderlies go warn the Doctor of our presence. Anna introduces herself again to Shelly, and asks Shelly if they want to be friends, and Shelly is confused, but Anna says there's always room for one more, but Shelly says that she doesn't have that many friends. Anna says that she does, because she has many strings. Shelly asks what does she mean, but Anna says that every time a new friendship is formed, an invisible thread is tied between two people. However, these threads are not invisible to her... She says that Shelly has a lot of threads, and that she's never seen so many! She tells Shelly that a lot of people must care about her. Shelly is surprised, and Anna says that there's one more, now that they're friends. Noel warns us that the other orderlies are probably going to come back from locking Charlotte up soon... Cain says that he'll hold them off as best as he can, and tells me and Shelly to find Heather. Noel tells Cain to take a defensive position in the doorway. That way no matter how many of them there are, they can't gang up on you. Cain compliments Noel on being smart, and he sends out his Nidoking to help defend the door. A few orderlies show up, and grab Noel instead of Cain, and take him away upstairs. Anna tells us to stop them, and Shelly follows me. Before we go up there though, Shelly asks if Noel ever ignores Anna. Anna asks why, and Shelly says no reason. The other little boys there ask us what's going on, and Shelly tells them that we're going to save Heather. She says that everything will be okay. When I talk to Cain, he says a 'that's what she said' joke, and he tells Shelly that she'll understand when she's older. We then proceed to head upstairs.

When we head upstairs, we find a few orderlies, and they battle us. The orderlies send out the usual Pokemon, Magnemite and Elgyem, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather, her Yanmega. While Charles burns away their Pokemon, Heather cuts away their Pokemon with Air Cutter. Magnemite gets knocked out, the orderly sends out Venomoth, which is a surprise. We cut and burn Venomoth, and the orderly sends out Kadabra, another surprise. Eventually, Elgyem gets knocked out from Heather's Struggle Bug, and Kadabra gets knocked out from Charles' Flame Burst. After one of the orderlies is defeated, we gang up on the other, and knock out Tynamo, who was sent out after Elgyem fainted. Slowpoke gets sent out, and we knock it out from Dragon Rage and Struggle Bug.

After beating the two orderlies, we get told that whatever happens to Noel is none of our concern. One of the orderlies doesn't even care for the Doctor's methods. After dealing with them, we talk to the little boys here, and then pass them to battle two more orderlies, as they say that upstairs are the children's quarters, and that we cannot pass. One of them even says that we shall not interfere with the Doctor's design. Time to knock these guys down!

The orderlies send out Clefairy and Klink, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather again. Heather knocks out Clefairy with Air Cutter, while I burn away Klink with Charles' Flame Burst. Since Clefairy went down, the orderly sends out a Golett. However, Heather knocks Golett out quickly with Giga Drain, and Charles knocks out Klink with Flame Burst. The orderly with the Golett sends out ANOTHER Golett, and the orderly with the Klink sends out a Blitzle. However, Charles knocks down the Blitzle with Flame Burst. The orderly sends out Klang, while Heather knocks down Golett. Charles then finishes off Klang with Flame Burst, and we win the battle!

After the battle, the orderlies close a metal gate, preventing us from going upstairs! I talk to the orderly locked out, and he says that he honestly thinks that some of the things that go on here are wrong too.

We go downstairs and I talk to Cain to see how he's doing. He says that these guys are a bit harder to deal with, and Shelly asks him if it's better to battle girls. However, that's not what he meant... Anyways, We go over to Anna, and ask her for help, and she says that there's an override program in the lab. She tells us that it's down the hall and to the left. She says that nobody is allowed to go down there, and that's why she knows about it. Perhaps this is Sigmund's room?

I head down the hall, and find a room that's open. Apparently, this is Dr. Sigmund's Office, and the orderlies tell us to leave.

The orderlies send out Aron and Drowzee. I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather. I burn Aron with Charles' Flame Burst, and knock out Aron. The orderly sends out Magnemite, while Heather uses Struggle Bug to try taking down Drowzee. Unintentionally, I knock down Drowzee with Charles' Slash, because Charles is still wanting to disobey me. The orderly sends out ANOTHER Drowzee, and I manage to get Magnemite down just before Magnemite tries to knock out Heather from the barrage of Electro Balls. Unfortunately, Drowzee manages to knock out Heather, and Shelly sends out Scyther. The orderly sends out Elgyem, and I knock it down with Charles' Flame Burst, while Drowzee gets knocked out from Scyther's Fury Cutter. The orderly sends out Hypno, and me and Shelly gang up on Hypno with Charles and Scyther. Scyther manages to land a strong Fury Cutter on Hypno, and Charles finishes Hypno off with a Wing Attack.

After defeating the orderlies there, we try heading to the room on the left of Sigmund's Office, but it's locked. So, we proceed to head down to the lab, until we are spotted by a few more orderlies.

The orderlies send out Voltorb and Piplup (I'm surprised they don't evolve their Pokemon!), while me and Shelly send out Charles and Heather again. Me and Shelly gang up on Piplup with a Wing Attack and a Giga Drain from Charles and Heather. The orderly sends out Prinplup, and Voltorb decides to end it all. Luckily for us, Self-Destruct didn't do anything much. The orderly sends out Magnemite, who gets attacked by Prinplup's Bind! WHY are you attacking your own teammate? Heather finishes off Magnemite, while the orderly then sends out Klink, who burns away immediately after being sent out. Who burned Klink? Charles, with his special Flame Burst. Prinplup gets knocked out from Heather's Struggle Bug, while the orderly sends out Golett next. Unfortunately for Golett, it faints just when Heather uses Giga Drain on it. We win the battle, and now it's time to override the gate!

After we beat the orderlies in the lab, I get the Cell Battery that's there, and then I turn on the computer and override the gate. I head back and tell Anna that I overrode the gate, and she tells me to go upstairs and save Noel and Heather.

When I head upstairs, I find that the children's quarters are prison cells. I find an item in one cell, but I can't reach it. I find a little boy in another cell, wanting to be free. I can't free him at the moment, so I have no choice but to move onward.

I head upstairs, and find Noel locked up in a cell. He says it's a little inconvenient being held here, but he says that Heather is upstairs. He also tells us that the Doctor does his treatments on the top floor... He says he's fine, cause he's used to being locked in a room. Since I can't free him, I have no choice but to move onward.

I head upstairs, and find the orderlies that I battled when I met Anna and the gang. Orderly John finds out that I'm the one doing all of this. When I was here before, they thought I was just staking out the place. They say that their responsibility to the children of Reborn will not be shaken, and they will do as they must to protect them. Shelly asks them if torturing the children is protection, and that they need to ask themselves who the real bad guy is... They say that we are not supposed to be here, and they tell us to leave. I'm not leaving without Heather!

The orderlies send out Magnemite and Kadabra, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather. Charles nearly knocks Magnemite down, but it survives with Sturdy. Heather attacks Kadabra, and then Heather wipes them both out with Struggle Bug. They then send out Elektrik and Yanma, and I burn Elektrik when Heather knocked out Magnemite and Kadabra. Elektrik nearly wipes out Charles and Heather, but they survive. However, when Heather used Air Cutter to knock down Yanma to its last life, Elektrik unintentionally finished off Yanma with Discharge. The orderly sends out Venomoth, and Heather uses Ancient Power on it. However, Charles gets knocked out from Elektrik's Charge Beam. I send out a weak Pokemon like Phanpy, because I was using Phanpy to pick up items before. Eventually, Heather gets knocked out too, and Shelly sends out Scyther. Yanma goes down from Scyther's attack, and then Scyther gets knocked out from Discharge, but so does Elgyem when the orderly with the Yanma sent it out. Shelly sends out Masquerain, who won't do much since Elektrik got finished from Phanpy's Rollout. PHANPY'S ROLLOUT. John sends out Slowpoke, who gets knocked down from Masquerain's Struggle Bug. John sends out Magneton, who gets ganged up on by Masquerain's Bubble Beam and Phanpy's Rock Smash. In the end, Phanpy finishes the battle with ROCK SMASH.

All the orderlies say is that we don't bring protection, but violence, which is a LIE. Phanpy starts to evolve, but I stop that from happening.

The orderlies say that this is a building full of regrets. I go to the computer, which disengages the patients' cells, and frees everybody. I go to the little boy in the cell, who just says many strange things, as if he was insane. I head downstairs and talk to Noel, who wonders why we haven't rescued Heather yet. Shelly tells him that the door upstairs was locked. Noel says that there's a spare key in the Doctor's Private Office, but he usually keeps it locked... He then goes downstairs, and says that Anna might have an idea...

I go downstairs, get the item in the cell, which was a Parlyz Heal, and then I head back downstairs and talk to Noel and Anna, who say that Cain not only defended the door, but pushed them back. I'm going to go in there and save Charlotte.

I head into the Circuit, and talk to Cain. He's a bit busy, and he tells me to save Charlotte. I disengage her lock, and thanks us for saving her. Cain starts singing, and Charlotte asks him why he's singing, and simply calls him a Disney princess, with Cain saying that someday his prince will come and sweep him away! He asks Charlotte to be his prince, with Charlotte rejecting him. The orderlies get defeated by Cain, and Cain tells them that even he has his standards, and tells them to get out of here. He calls his Nidoking back as the orderlies retreat deeper into the Circuit. Cain says that he's going to take a break, and Charlotte says that while it's good and well, she still needs her cigarettes. She tells us that the storage room is down deeper into the Circuit, and we're going to have to break in. Cain sasses her and says "For drugs? Real good influence you are on the kids here." Charlotte tells the little princess not to sass her, because she was joking about those. What we REALLY need is to get the orphans' Pokemon back, because they're being kept in the storage room. I disengage the cell for the psychotic little boy, and when I talk to him long enough, he gives me a Rare Candy. I head down to the control room, and me and Shelly have to deal with the orderlies there.

The orderlies send out Klink and Elgyem, while me and Heather send out Charles and Heather. Charles burns Elgyem with Flame Burst, while the orderly sends out Klang after Klink is down. While Charles burns away Klang, Heather beats up Elgyem with Struggle Bug. The orderly with the Klang sends out Drowzee, so Charles attacks Drowzee, while Heather knocks out Elgyem with Giga Drain. The orderly sends out Elektrik, and Charles burn Elektrik while Heather uses Struggle Bug on Drowzee and knocks it out. The orderly sends out Magnemite, and while Charles is disobeying, Heather knocks out Magnemite with a barrage of attacks, while finishing off with a critical hit Giga Drain. Time to get those Pokemon back!

When I pass, Charlotte shows up, and threatens the orderlies that they better open up the storage, or she'll have me tear them to pieces with Charles. Oddly, they actually submit to her. She goes into the storage room, and finds four sets of Pokemon, each from Charlotte, Noel, Anna, and Heather. She'll be taking those, and she also takes an attractive looking pack of cigarettes. She also takes the key to Dr. Sigmund's Private Office. She then goes to unlock the door and give the twins back their stuff. She tells us to meet us upstairs after we disengage the gate. As I talk to the orderlies, they are surprised they got overrun by three kids.

I head to Dr. Sigmund's Office, and then I head to his Private Office, which actually is unlocked, thanks to Charlotte. I disengage the lock to the top floor, and I proceed to the top floor.

When I get to the top floor, I find all of the orderlies surrounded by the orphans, and Shelly finds Heather grabbed by an Electrivire. Charlotte says that the last guests arrived to the party, and asks the Doctor if he has a diagnosis for his situation. She thinks she does: Royally Screwed. Dr. Sigmund replies with the term 'cute', and asks Charlotte if she's had her fun. He says that they can deal with her incessant habit of acting out for attention in her own session, and says that this is Heather's session presently, and that she is interrupting it. She apologizes, and says that he's missed the mark. This was never her play. We're here for Heather. Shelly demands the Doctor to let go of Heather right now. Cain tells Dr. Geezer that he's a little bit out-numbered, and that maybe he should probably just fold.  Sigmund is aware of the situation, and says he would ask us to question if our impulses and wild charades are truly the best thing for Heather. Anna says that it's better than lighting her up like a Christmas Tree, and tells him to let her go. Shelly politely asks the Doctor to let Heather go. Charlotte's Ninetales moves aside as Charlotte walks up to the Doctor and tells him to let Heather go, or she'll burn him. The Doctor lets out a scream, and Cain tells Charlotte that she doesn't have to burn the guy. However, that's the real reason she wanted her cigarettes, because she's had an urge to leave a scar like that for SO long. She tells us not to feel sorry for the Doctor either, because he's left worse scars on both of her sisters and her.  Sigmund declares this to stop. He says that he cares little for this power struggle, and gives us Heather. Shelly asks Heather if she's okay, but Sigmund says that we should know that he already contacted the authorities about this little incident, and that we will all shortly be arrested. Cain says that now might be the time to escape, since we have Heather. Anna calls me a Slowking, and says that everyone's going to meet up under Opal Bridge, where the train tracks turn off into the Underground.

I head under the Opal Bridge through the Peridot Ward, and find Anna, who tells me to hurry into the Underground Railnet. I find Charlotte and the others waiting for me there. Charlotte says that we need a plan. She says that since the police are going to be looking for us, they probably know that we're going to try and escape the city, so the exits will be sealed. However, this tunnel happens to run underneath the city, and comes out right in the Chrysolia Region. It just so happens that Charlotte's sisters have a house right there, so we can lay low there until things cool down. Since of course this means smashing through here, Charlotte's going to leave the rock smashing to me and my Phanpy. I talk to everyone, and I find that Heather isn't talking. I smash the rocks, and then we go onward.

Meanwhile...

Dr. Sigmund is AWARE that we are hiding under the Railnet. He says that he knows Charlotte better than she knows herself. And then... He shows up in the Doctor's presence... He claims that he is a huge fan of Sigmund's work on ECT., and he found it useful in his... operations. He understands that the Doctor has lost something, and believes that they can be of some benefit to each other...

Team Meteor... Dr. Sigmund... Could this all relate to Corey...?

I come across a fork in the road, and it seems that I have to choose the left path, because I would have to use Strength to move on if I choose to take the right path. I find the others, and it seems that Cain has a fan of his own, Anna! I talk to Charlotte, who's trying to turn on a computer. Cain asks what it does, and Shelly explains that the gate leads to the basement of the old Yureyu Building. According to Shelly, Yureyu used to use the Railnet to import resources via the rail... So they had it run right through their HQ... Yureyu used to be the economic center of Reborn, until the earthquakes happened and Yureyu was destroyed. Not only that, but Yureyu ran the city's electricity... so that went down too... Eventually, the entire city shut down until Ame restored it... Noel says that it won't open because it's still hooked up to the old power plant. Anna says that's where Mr. Shadow lives, and says that if someone went up there and asked him to turn on the power, he would. Shelly asks if Anna's talking about Shade, and wonders if Shade is even a human. Anna doesn't know that, but she knows that he's super nice. Noel asks her how is he nice if he never speaks. Anna says that Shade is also a Reborn League Gym Leader, and suggests that I go up there and ask Shade to turn it back on, and then fight him. Anna tells me that she'll have Nostra tell Shade to unlock the door, and tells me to head up there quickly.

Well, I guess it's time to get another badge... I need it!

Current Pokemon Stats

HOLY CRAP Charles is buffed up. If Charles doesn't disobey, maybe I might win against Shade. First, before I battle Shade, I might train Carvanha, as well as a new member of the team once I catch him soon. Also, if anybody is wondering about Phanpy, I've had him on the team for a while. He's just the Pickup Boy, nothing special.

Chapter XXIII: Shade, The Mysterious Ghost!

When I get to the Abandoned Power Plant, I find a cave. I Rock Smash the rock, and I get to the cave. The only thing I find is a lone Croagunk and a shiny rock to smash. Strangely, this Croagunk seems familiar... That Croagunk... As it was being released, it looked back at Corey, but probably not just at Corey, but at me! That Croagunk... Is Corey's Croagunk! But why does it want to travel with me?

Corey... Your name shall not be forgotten... From this day forth... This Croagunk shall carry your name!

After catching Croagunk, I find another Phanpy, because when I tried putting Phanpy in the PC, I accidentally caused a glitch that took away my Phanpy. Sooo, I have to catch another Phanpy!

After looking for a Phanpy (and catching one), I decide that it's time to train Carvanha and Corey. I head underground the Grand Stairway, and train the two against the Unown.

Eventually after some training, Corey evolves into... a Toxicroak!

After training Corey to level 40, I then train Carvanha.

Shortly after some training, Carvanha evolves into... a Sharpedo!

After evolving and raising Sharpedo to level 40, I head for the Abandoned Power Plant. I find out that this is Yureyu's Power Plant. When I head inside, all I can see is darkness. The lights flicker on and off rarely, and I find two directions to go, with the north direction blocked off by several gates. I decide to go right because I feel like it. I find a path that has a lone computer. I turn on the computer, and the lights turn on for a bit as I see on the screen a memory of seeing Corey fall off the edge of Beryl Bridge!

I wonder if Shade did this to remind me of this?

I head back to the entrance, thinking that this is too much for me. However, I decide to head to the left wing this time, and find anymore computers. I notice that the first gate is unlocked. I go to the top part, cause again, I feel like it. I turn on the computer, and I look on the screen that a Garchomp mysteriously appears behind a girl with magenta hair and murders her!

Can Shade... Predict the future?

I head back to the entrance and find that another gate is unlocked. I go back to the west wing, and I find another computer close by, and turn it on. When I turn it on, I see Amaria smiling, and then I see a red-haired girl walk up to her, and push her, making her fall off a cliff or something!

I hope if Shade can see this happening...

I head back to the entrance, and find that the third gate has been unlocked. Apparently, seeing these deaths open up the gates, leading me to Shade! I then go back to the east wing, and eventually find another computer, dare should I turn it on. When I turn it on, I find a green-haired girl and a flash. When the flash ends, the girl's head rolls off of her body, and her body is sliced into pieces!

This... Isn't... Real! Whatever you're trying to pull Shade, it isn't real!

I head back to the entrance and find that all of the gates are now unlocked, and I can get to Shade! I go up to him, and he only says nothing. He then floats to the corner, and shows an evil grin, and begins the battle.

Shade, I know that you won't talk, but what are you trying to say? Speak to me!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer103.png.6eeb9742682c9056f9f9993ad3095825.png

Shade is merely an Entity. Strangely, the music is backwards. He sends out Rotom, while I send out Sharpedo. Sharpedo uses Crunch on Rotom, and knocks it out. Shade sends out Chandelure, who's surprisingly slower than Sharpedo who gets a speed boost and Crunches on Chandelure, knocking it down to one life. Chandelure uses Hidden Power, which nearly knocks Sharpedo away. I give Sharpedo a Super Potion while Shade heals Chandelure with a Hyper Potion. I attack Chandelure once more, but Chandelure knocks out Sharpedo with an Energy Ball. I send out Persian who uses Bite on Chandelure while Shade heals Chandelure with a Hyper Potion. Unfortunately, Persian gets burned from Flame Body. I have Persian use another Bite, and Chandelure is down. Shade sends out Golett while I switch out Persian for Corey, who knocks out Golett with a Sucker Punch. After that, Shade sends out a Gengar named Corey. I wonder if Shade turned Corey into a Gengar since Shade DID take his remains. Coincidentally, Corey the Gengar is level 37, the same level that Croagunk evolves into Toxicroak, and Croagunk was one of Corey's Pokemon, and now a Pokemon in which I possess. I give Corey the Gengar a Sucker Punch from Corey the Toxicroak, and knock it out. Shade sends out Spiritomb, who laughs at Corey's Sucker Punch. Luckily, Corey gives Spiritomb a critical hit Sucker Punch, and knocks it out. Shade then sends out Dusclops. Corey hits Dusclops with a Faint Attack, and Dusclops tries to burn Corey, but fails. Eventually, I knock out Dusclops and win the battle.

"...Abyss favors the forsaken..."

Those are the words of Shade. He gives me the Omen Badge, which means that Pokemon that are level 45 will obey me. He also gives me TM30 Shadow Ball. I ask him if he can turn on the Power Plant, and he turns it on. He tells me to observe as he shows an event in the Underground Railnet.

Meanwhile...

Anna's surprised that I did it, but then... He shows up again. He says that this is even more convenient than he expected. Charlotte asks him who he is, and he says that's none of her business. He then tells his grunts to seize all of them, and they are captured, one by one. Cain runs and sends out Nidoking to stop them. He then tells Nidoking to use Earthquake, and it makes a huge crack between Cain and Team Meteor. He calls Nidoking back and retreats. The strange man tells the grunt to let Cain go, because he's not part of the deal. He says that they got everything the Doctor ordered...

DAMNIT, NOT AGAIN!

Shade says that dying souls are the key to my gain, and he tells me to not let them suffer to the poison in vain... He then vanishes.

Shade... What a poet...

Current Pokemon Stats

Well, all I needed for the battle was Sharpedo, Persian, and Corey. Sharpedo and Corey leveled up to 40 pretty good, and they both learned some new moves. I ended up teaching Corey Rock Smash cause I'm tired of using Phanpy for that.

Chapter XXIV: The Poisoned Azurine Lake Conspiracy!

As soon as I leave the Abandoned Power Plant, I head straight for the Underground Railnet. When I get to the door, I find Victoria pacing around. She's glad to see me, and says that she doesn't know what to do. She ran into Cain, who told her that Shelly and a bunch of other children were kidnapped! They're being kept past there, but there's all this debris in the way. Thanks Cain! She tells me that a Pokemon can move the debris but... I would need the HM Strength to move it, and the badge to use it... She asks me if I remember the Apophyll Academy. She tells me that it's located on the other side of Azurine Lake... Her sensei Kiki teaches the Apophyll Academy, and she has the HM Strength. As soon as Victoria told Cain that, he ran off right away... He really wants to help those kids... She tells me that the badge to use Strength is the Venom (Blight in the newer versions) Badge... From the Poison Gym Leader... DAMN IT COREY, Y U NO GIVE ME THE VENOM/BLIGHT BADGE BEFORE YOU DIED?!? She tells me that the new Poison Gym Leader is Aya, something I already know. She also tells me that she's Cain's sister, something I ALSO know. She tells me that only Cain has the key to get into the Wasteland. Say... Cain still owes me the key! She tells me that we need to follow Cain across the Azurine Lake, and if we make it, we can catch up to him at the Coral Ward!

I then go to the Coral Ward and try to find Cain. However, I first make a pit stop and name Sharpedo Arc. I'm thinking about naming Gardevoir, but I won't for now. Instead, I head to the Coral Ward.

On my way there, I run into a few battles, but no harm done. Once I get to the Coral Ward, I heal my Pokemon, and find Cain. He apologizes for destroying the easy way to get into the Yureyu Building, and says that he's going to get back in there and save everyone. He says that the acidic water will destroy any boat that tries to cross it. Even Water-types can't surf on it... He then sends out Muk and rides on it across the Azurine Lake. Now what do I do? As I head back, the warehouse that was locked before opens, and out comes Amaria! She asks me what I' doing here, and I tell her my reason. She says that normally there's a ferry that travels from the Coral Ward to the Apophyll Beach, but thanks to the poison in the water, the boat isn't running... Actually, she found something out. Amaria's been keeping data on where exactly all of the pollution is coming from, and she just finished tracing it. It seems like all of the pollution is coming from one place- the old Abandoned Factory up in the West Peridot Ward? Remember the place where I met Fern for the first time? Yeah, it's THAT factory. Amaria was just going to go up there to see if she can put a stop to it, and maybe purify the lake, but she asks me if I want to come with her and help save the Azurine Lake. She says that she'll meet me outside the factory, and leaves.

Could it be... Team Meteor's doings?

I head up to Blacksteam Factory, right where Amaria said she'd be. Unfortunately, there's no way to get in. However, Amy finds a way. She sends out Deliverance, her Lapras, and she tells her Lapras to use Waterfall then Ice Beam, which creates a majestic stairway, and then Amaria calls back Deliverance. She then climbs up, and so I will follow.

When I get in, I find a narrow corridor, and then go through. I find Ame cornered by two Meteor grunts. I KNEW Team Meteor was behind the water pollution!

Must I say, DANG, Amaria has a Powerful Lapras. Level 74, and it OBEYS! Deliverance beats the two for me, and I didn't even break a sweat!

One of the grunts runs off to warn their boss of our presence, and Amaria tells me to move on ahead with her before anymore show up. I follow her downstairs, and find that she's surrounded by Meteor grunts. Amaria asks if I trust her, in which I do. She tells me to get ready, because we're about to enter the longest fight of our lives. She sends out Deliverance, and tells Deliverance to use Ice Shard in front of the grunts, allowing me enough time to slip by. Meanwhile, the Meteor grunts all swarm in on her. She then sends out Atlantica, her Kingdra. She tells me not to worry about her, and she tells me to just find a way to shut down the factory and save Azurine Lake.

As I move on ahead, I get pushed around by Meteor Grunts who don't even fight me. I move on ahead, and go into a room where I find myself encountered by Him. However, just as when I thought it was the man in black, the strange man in the brown trenchcoat comes out of the corner instead. He is surprised that he encounters me again, and he says that mistake will be corrected now. He then says goodbye as he pulls a trap door on me making me fall!

I land in a room with all of these Pokemon trapped in cages. Eventually a Meteor grunt notices me trapped in the cell with all of the Pokemon, and says "Have fun being imprisoned with all of the other Pokemon stolen from our Daycare scam in Obsidia! You all are going NOWHERE!" I then think of a plan to get out.

So THIS is where the stolen Pokemon ended up...

To get out of here, I use Loudred to deafen my ears, then go to Abra to bond with my mind, then teleport Vanillite to a cage, then go back to Loudred, then back to Abra, teleport Makuhita, then Ditto turns into Makuhita, uses Close Combat and frees itself! I then interact with the Ditto once it turns back to normal. It wants to travel with me, but I don't have enough room in my team to take it. I will be back later for it though.

I then teleport Vanillite to Makuhita's old cage, and teleport Jigglypuff to the cage that is closest to the grunt. I try using it, but Jigglypuff just sings. When I wake up, Jigglypuff is angry. This time, I deafen my ears, teleport Loudred to the cage next to Abra, deafen my ears again, and this time the guard falls asleep, with Jigglypuff delighted! I teleport Jigglypuff to the empty cage, and teleport Vanillite. I freeze the cell wall, and teleport Vanillite back. I teleport Roggenrola, and Rock Blast through the wall, and escape! However, the guard is still sleeping... While Standing... Strange guard...

However, I decide to battle the guard anyways, so I battle him, and win. I head downstairs into a room that gets darker as I progress. Eventually, I stumble upon TM Telekinesis. I leave, and head upstairs, and then upstairs where I find Meteor grunts and scientists. Somewhere along the lines, I find some Meteor Grunts that are higher ranked than usual grunts. Meteor Dames and Meteor Knights. I find a scientist who doesn't fight, but prefers the pen over the sword. He tells me that Team Meteor is trying to uncover a hidden secret, and he must know its truths. I find a switch in the room he was in, and it opens the front door.

As I progress deeper into the factory, I find that a room is heavily guarded with two locked gates. There's one already right there, so I disengage that, but then I go into a room and find a few Meteor grunts. Some are just not that innocent. I find the switch to the second gate, and disengage it.

I enter the door, and I find ZEL, Lumi says that I shouldn't be here, but the strange man notices me. He asks what I'm doing and calls me a little child. He says I am meddling in dangerous affairs, and says that he'll put an end to it, but stops himself as he tells me to follow him into the deeper part of the room. He shows me a Muk attached to a PULSE Machine, but Eve tells him that I already know about it, because I'm the one who contributed to the destruction of the PULSE-Tangrowth Project. He's surprised that I'm the one, and tells me that this PULSE Machine is different than the one I've seen. He knows who I am. He tells me that this PULSE is attached to a Muk, and tells me to look at the pain Muk is in... Its withering countenance... He then sends out Garchomp and tries to execute me while I'm distracted! However, Someone tells Atlantica to use Ice Beam. Amaria saved me! He says that I would have been dead and out of the way if she hadn't come to the rescue. Amaria jumps from a balcony, and lands. The strange man calls back his Garchomp, and Amaria asks me if I'm okay. She asks if this PULSE is flooding the water with poison. She then asks the man why would he want to do that, because he's destroying the beautiful lake, and says that he's making life harder for the people in the city. He says that's exactly why. He says that if the people are miserable, they'll leave. If their homes are destroyed by plants, they have nowhere to live. If the water is poisoned, they die. He says that soon they'll be leaving. All of them will. And no more will be coming- Grandview Station is already destroyed. This will become a vacant ruined city again. As it should have stayed in the first place! This makes Amaria MAD. She calls him awful, and says that he's hurting people just to chase them away? And for what? He says that she doesn't understand anything. He tells her not to pretend that she understands their motives, because they're not petty sadists, nor are they petty thieves. However, he says that he can't help but notice the Bracelet that Amaria is wearing... He asks if it's a Sapphire Bracelet, and she replies with a yes. She says that it was a gift from Tania, and he's not going to take it if that's what he's thinking of doing. She walks up to him and says that he already pulled one dirty trick on me, and that he's not going to pull another trick on her, and she's not going to risk me getting hurt again. He remarks that she's placed herself on a high pedestal, and asks her if he can knock her off of it. Amaria tells me to try deactivating the PULSE while she deals with their boss. The boss tells ZEL to protect the PULSE. Eve tells me that my role in this act has concluded, and says goodbye.

I'm sorry ZEL, But I have to defeat you! I have to protect Azurine Lake!

ZEL sends out Glaceon while I send out Arc. Arc uses Crunch, which makes ZEL use a Hyper Potion. Arc then knocks out Glaceon, making ZEL send out PULSE-Muk. Unfortunately, PULSE-Muk's Gunk Shot knocks out Arc without any trouble. I send out Gardevoir and use Calm Mind to boost up her stats. I knock out PULSE-Muk with Gardevoir's Psychic, and then ZEL sends out Umbreon. Unfortunately, Gardevoir faints from Umbreon's Faint Attack, so I send out Corey. Eventually, I knock out Umbreon with Corey's Revenge, after a long while of being confused. ZEL sends out Espeon, who faints immediately from Corey's Sucker Punch, and that defeats ZEL!

Lumi apologizes to their leader, who's identity has been confirmed as Solaris. He calls us useless, and says that the damage is done. He's still battling Amaria with a Tyranitar in his hand, and Deliverance in Amaria's hand. As a parting gift, he tells Tyranitar to use Superpower... On Amaria... He knocks out Amaria, and issues a retreat. Amaria gets up, and thanks me for shutting down the PULSE. She tells me that she's okay, but a little winded. At least the water won't be polluted anymore. However, he said that the damage is already done, which could mean that it's permanent. Amaria says that a lot has been ruined, but in time, the Water Treatment Center under the city will clean it out... She calls Deliverance back, and walks away. However, she walks back and asks if I still need a ride across the lake. She says that I can take her boat, and she says that before the waters go through the Treatment Center, they'll still damage the ship, but She gets the feeling that I'll need it now more than later. She then gives me the Harbor Key. She says that key opens her dock in the Coral Ward, the dock we first met at. She says I can help myself to the boat, and says that she's going to go home and rest for a while. She also says one more thing before she leaves, and says that Tania's probably waiting for her too... She tells me that she lives up in the Aventurine Region, which is just north of Reborn City, and says that if I'm ever in the area, I should totally drop by. She thanks me again for my help, and leaves.

I head to the Pokemon Center and drop off a Pokemon in the PC, and head back to pick up the Ditto...

HOLY SHIT, A SHINY DITTO WITH A PERFECT ABILITY AND PERFECT NATURE!!! I mean... Welcome to the team, Ditto! The only thing that sucks about Ditto is... IT'S LEVEL 5!!! Anyways, it's no wonder that Ditto was among the many caged Pokemon. People use it to breed WAY too much. I might actually use Ditto on the team against a powerful threat in the future...

I head back to the Coral Ward and unlock the door to Amaria's dock with the Harbor Key, and hop in the boat and head for Apophyll Beach!

Solaris... What could you possibly want with the Sapphire Bracelet? Why... Why are you doing all of this?

Well, the team leveled up quite a bit, and Sharpedo has been renamed to Arc, in honor of the leader of the Aqua Gang. Also, Ditto is a new member on the team, as Ditto is the breeding machine. But still... THAT SHINY DITTO.

Chapter XXV: The Apophyll Academy, The Ways of Life, And The Test To Be The Best!

When I get to Apophyll Beach, I run around on it for a while. I head deeper into the beach, and find some trainers to battle. I find one trainer who gives a Lord Of The Rings reference, just like how the one Meteor grunt referenced to Gandalf in Mosswater Factory. Good times... I find a huge academy, but before I go in it, I look around, battle people, and find items. Eventually, I head inside the academy.

When I head inside the academy, I find a Pokemon Center, and a library upstairs. I learn a few things from the people living there, and I head to the other side of the building, where I find that one person tells me that a strange man has been coming to their academy recently. He's quiet, but he never fights, even though he attends every lecture. He also goes to train at the volcano, Pyrous Mountain. Strange... According to someone, Victoria has a lover. Heh heh. I head downstairs, where I find a girl blocking a door. I find a girl who talks about a guy named Ca, who is apparently Victoria's boyfriend. Apparently, the door that's blocked leads to Kiki's room, and the girl says that she's at the training grounds, which is just outside the door.

I go outside into the courtyard, and I find cabins and a bunch of trainers to battle. I head inside the cabins, then talk to everybody and battle them as well.

After I battle everybody in there, I head outside and head to the Training Ground, where I find a magenta haired girl teaching a lecture. Could that girl be Kiki...? Then that means... She's probably going to die soon, just like what Shade's prediction said! Kiki then asks me if I'm a new student, which I reply yes. I then take a seat, and she shows everybody a bowl. She adds stones to it, and asks if it's full. She then fills sand in, and the sand goes between the rocks. She asks if it's entirely filled, but then she adds water into the bowl, which seeps into the sand, down into the rocks. She says that it has to do with everything in life. She tells us to imagine that the bowl is our lives. The rocks are the things that matter most to us, like our loved ones, and our dreams. The sand is everything we must do, such as meeting deadlines, or working off expenses. She empties the bowl, and then fills it with sand first, and can't fill it with rocks. If we put the necessities first, there is no room for what is important to us.

The lesson is: Do not let yourself be bogged down in the sands of life. Focus instead on what truly matters. Everything else will simply fall into place...

After the lesson, everyone leaves but Kiki. I talk to Kiki, and she formally welcomes me as a student of Apophyll Academy. She is honored to have earned my faith, and looks forward to observing my diligence and growth in the coming weeks. She then says that she'll assign me a dormitory and schedule as soon as we return to the academy. I also tell her that I came here seeking the HM Strength. She says that it is typically awarded to graduating students of the Academy. She says that for now, I have to meet her in her room, and they will officially enroll me.

As I try to go into the courtyard, Victoria arrives and stops me. One of the girls is shocked that Victoria's back, and thought that Victoria was going to go train. However, as Victoria wanted to take on the Reborn League, so many other important things have been happening. She says that we have to speak with Kiki at once, and asks the girl if she's in her room. She just came in, so it's possible. As Victoria goes on ahead, the student asks me if I'm Victoria's friend, and says that I'm very lucky. According to her, Victoria's the top student of the academy! Not only that, but Kiki too her as her personal apprentice!

I head into Kiki's Room, where I find that Victoria told Kiki the reason why we need the HM Strength. Incidentally, I came here looking for the HM too. Victoria introduces me to Kiki, and says that we're working together to save the children. Kiki says that she's moved by our plight, however... I still have to graduate the Academy, and if I don't, it would disrespect every student who has followed it before. Victoria then says that she wishes to apply for graduation. Kiki isn't surprised, because she was hoping she would ask. Especially since Kiki's condition is worsening... She then shakes it off, and asks Victoria if she was successful of challenging the Reborn League as she requested. However, Victoria was not. In fact, she never even challenged a Gym Leader. Every time she was going to, something urgent happened. Kiki tells her that the HM requires a certain badge. She asks me if I'm successful so far, and I reply that I am, except for Corey's suicidal death happening... COREY!!! Victoria says that I can handle another badge, and Kiki asks Victoria if she's willing to hand off the HM regardless. She supposes that it can't be helped, but knowing that it's Victoria's intention, she feels obligated to test me as well. She then grants Victoria permission to stay here and test for graduation. he tells me that my test is different, and says that Apophyll lies in the shadow of Pyrous Mountain, and says that atop Pyrous Mountain is one of her newest, though finest, students. Victoria's shocked at what she's about to do, but Kiki shushes her, and tells her to have faith in me. She tells me to climb the mountain, find her student, and challenge him. She says that if we are both successful, we may have the HM. She wishes us luck, as we head off to Pyrous Mountain.

As I head out the door, Victoria stops me. She wanted to wish me good luck, and says that the student Kiki is talking about is Cal. She says that Cal was once the Fire-type Leader for the Reborn League, but he retired and came here after a certain incident... She says that he's really strong and cute, but then she realizes that she just said that... She says that in order to get very far into Pyrous Mountain, I have to drain the lava from the upper floors. She says that if I look, there should be choke points in between the levels, and sometimes they get clogged up. She says to give the right one a smash, and I'll be good to go. She then tells me to give Cal her regards. She tells me not to worry about her test, because she IS the top student after all.

I head inside the mountain, and head left. I notice three pillars with rocks in them. However, when I smash them, I only find Magcargos. I find a way, but it's covered with lava. I then find stairs leading to the basement, and I find a pillar. I smash the rock, and it drains out lava from above. I then head lower, and find myself surrounded by lava. I smash the lonely rock in the pillar, and more lava sinks. Eventually, I make it to a place where I'm surrounded by lava, but I see a Heatmor. I'll catch it later.

Once I empty the lava, I head to the summit of Pyrous Mountain, where I find a red-haired boy named Cal, who is currently meditating. After long silence, he introduces himself. He asks if I need anything, and I tell him that Kiki sent me. He tells me that he hasn't had a serious battle since he resigned as Gym Leader... Even back then, he was misguided. He let his anger drive and control him. He came here because he wanted to learn to let go of the rage he felt toward his brother. Everything he'd ever done was just to try and prove himself better than him... And then... He asks me if I met a Reborn Gym Leader named Shelly. He asks me how she is these days, and says that she might be timid because of him. He used to keep her around and watch over her. They were always scorned by their brothers and their families. He says that his brother Blake always got the attention. He always got the praise, and anything Cal ever did was just a sloppy second. Back then, Cal was too full of rage to see that Blake was the source of his anger. Shelly, however, understood his pain. However, she didn't understand at the same time. One day, she said something to him, and he reacted horridly. He... regrets hurting her more than anything else. Yet because of it, he was finally able to change... He apologizes, and says that he's supposed to be meditating. He can see clearly now, but the source of his energy is exhausted. He is now filled with regret. He says he's going to stop talking and start battling.

Cal... I'll help you find your center. Trust me.

Ex-Leader Cal sends out Infernape, while I send out Hydra. Hydra viciously knocks out Infernape with Aqua Tail, and Cal sends out Charizard, who gets knocked out too. Cal sends out Magmortar, who gets blown away by Aqua Tail too. Cal sends out Typhlosion, who gets wiped out by Aqua Tail too. Cal sends out Torkoal, who gets knocked down from Aqua Tail. Cal sends out Blaziken, who just gets knocked out the same fate as the rest of them did. Cal is just too easy.

Cal realizes that he seems to have lost his fire after all. He says that he only trained Fire-types because he wanted to beat Blake's Ice-types. He realizes that's foolish, and he tells me to go tell Kiki that I beat him. He'll be staying up here, because he has things to finish.

I then teleport back to the Academy, and find that Victoria's trying to stop Kiki from hurting herself. However, Kiki is practicing Willpower. One must fight hard to keep the chaos inside... She then notices my return, and tells me to pay no regard to the weakness I just witnessed. Victoria asks if I was able to beat him, which I did without a sweat, thanks to Hydra. Victoria has already been informed of everything she must do. Kiki then tells me to fight her in an official Reborn League match. If I win, I get the badge, and also the HM. She then tells me that she will be waiting in the courtyard.

As I head out to the courtyard, Victoria stops me. She tells me that she DIDN'T get the graduation exam. Instead, she was given the instructions on how to run things at the academy. In reality, Victoria tells me that Kiki... is dying... Victoria has been chosen to take her place. Kiki's been sick for months, but she's been trying to hide it from everyone... There is no cure for it. Kiki tells her these instructions because she intends for Victoria to take over when she... dies... She then tries to stop me because she doesn't want me fighting Kiki this way.

Victoria, if Kiki wants a battle, I'll give her one!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer84.png.54488f49765127cd55376a57db585796.png

Victoria sends out Scraggy while I send out Gardevoir. I switch out Gardevoir for Corey and knock out Scraggy with Revenge. Victoria sends out Gallade, and Corey Sucker Punches Gallade. Unfortunately, that doesn't do the trick, and Gallade knocks down Corey. I send out Persian this time, and attack with Fake Out. Victoria uses a few Hyper Potions on Gallade, and I attack with a few Cuts. Unfortunately, Persian gets knocked out, and I send out Gardevoir, who sadly gets knocked out by Gallade's Night Slash. Victoria sends out Heracross, who I use Arc's Swagger right after I send Arc out. Heracross manages to knock out Arc, and I send out Charles to help. Luckily, I revive Gardevoir, and knock out Heracross with Slash. I send out Gardevoir while Victoria sends out Emboar. Unfortunately, Gardevoir gets knocked out from Assurance, and I send out Charles to finish off Emboar with Wing Attack. Victoria sends out Hariyama, who knocks down Charles. I send out Hydra, who knocks down Hariyama with Aqua Tail. After a long, tiring battle, I finally win!

I'll win this... For the kids...

Chapter XXVI: Kiki, The Sensei Of Meditation!

After a long while of training the hell out of my Pokemon (and many other things), I head to the courtyard of the Apophyll Academy. I heal my Pokemon, and I find that everybody's surrounding the battlefield, waiting patiently for the battle to begin. I walk up to Kiki and she tells me to go to my corner, which I then do so. She then tells me that she will see how well my discipline holds me. Victoria goes over the rules of the battle, and then the battle begins.

Kiki... I hope you're alright...

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer107.png.f09e03b4c4a41021a90be8110ae28126.png

Sensei Kiki sends out Machamp, while I send out Hydra. Hydra uses Dragon Dance twice to build up his stats, while Machamp uses Payback twice. Hydra then knock out Machamp with an Aqua Tail, and Kiki sends out Medicham, who easily faints from Aqua Tail. Kiki sends out Gallade next, but fails to survive from Aqua Tail. Kiki sends out Toxicroak, but Aqua Tail doesn't affect Toxicroak. Instead, Hydra uses a Bite attack, which gives critical damage to Toxicroak, but it still survives. Just when I am about to finish off Toxicroak, Kiki heals Toxicroak with a Hyper Potion. Hydra gives a few more Bites to Toxicroak, and finishes off Toxicroak with a critical hit. Kiki sends out Scrafty, and Hydra tries to knock out Scrafty. I give Hydra a Super Potion, and apparently, Kiki has the same idea of healing Scrafty. Hydra hits Scrafty with another Aqua Tail, but still fails to knock him out. Scrafty then nearly wipes out Hydra, so I have to use a Hyper Potion to heal Hydra. Normally, I wouldn't use a Hyper Potion, but I want to win with a sweep from Hydra, soooo, I'm going to do that. Hydra finishes off Scrafty with a few Bites. Kiki then sends out Lucario, her final Pokemon. Hydra, now back at level 46, ignores my order, and does Dragon Dance. However, Hydra obeys the next turns, and obliterates Lucario. Do you all know what this means? I won. HYDRA STYLE.

Kiki then proceeds to give me the badge, and possibly the HM Strength, but then she faints! Victoria rushes to her side, and we take Kiki to her room. Victoria helps Kiki recover, and Kiki says that she can't hide her illness with a facade anymore. Victoria tries cheering her up by telling her about all her accomplishments, but Kiki cuts her off and says she's still weak. Victoria tries to calm her down, but then Kiki gets out of control. She says that no matter what she does, her body is still killing itself. Victoria then storms out of the room in frustration, but Kiki tries to stop her. Kiki then tells me to leave her room because she wants to be alone. And so, I respect her wishes.

I get out of her room, and Victoria tells me that she's never seen Kiki upset or faint before. She tells me that Kiki should get some rest alone for a while. She then goes back into Kiki's room and says that she'll try to keep things together so that hopefully Kiki can get better. She tells me that she'll get the HM and my badge too. However, there's something that's bothering her... She tells me that Cain was supposed to battle Kiki too, but he never came... She asks me if I saw him leave the Coral Ward, but he probably got lost. However, maybe he went to a different place... Azurine Island. Something must have happened to him there. She asks me if I can go look for him there. After all, he DOES have the key to the Wasteland.

Time to look for Cain!

Chapter XXVII: The Search For Cain, And The Mysterious Azurine Island!

I arrive on Azurine Island by boat, and find a whole lot of wild Foongus. I also find a shiny object in the water. However, it's one of Cain's earrings. Something must have happened to him! I also happen to find TM51 Ally Switch. I get lost for a little bit, but I eventually find my way once I remember that I have to cut the trees. Thank you, Persian!

As I continue my journey into the mysterious Azurine Island, I find many different Pokemon and items, with so many different paths too! Along the way, I find a mysterious building. I journey deeper into the island, collecting items along the way, and find my way to the entrance of the building.

When I enter the building, I find Aster and Eclipse waiting for me. I KNEW Team Meteor was here! Eclipse is completely surprised at my presence, and they say I'm too late finding Cain. Eclipse reveals that they capture him. I KNEW they captured Cain! They said it was the Boss's orders. He told them that Cain escaped from the previous ambush, and so they had to correct the mistake. This is my first time facing them alone. The other times I battled them, I had assistance. This time, I'm fighting alone.

Aster, Eclipse, I'm not alone. As long as I have my Pokemon, I'm never alone.

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer92.png.a0d347db642a915037d14510e03a9162.png

Aster and Eclipse send out Solrock and Lunatone while I send out Gardevoir and Hydra. Gardevoir uses Magical Leaf on Lunatone, while Hydra attacks Solrock with Bite. Unfortunately, the two extra-terrestrial Pokemon don't get knocked out, and Lunatone lands a Hypnosis on Hydra. I switch out from Hydra to Arc, but as I do, Aster gives Solrock a Hyper Potion. However, Gardevoir knocks out Lunatone easily with Magical Leaf. Eclipse sends out Rhydon, and Gardevoir easily knocks it out with Magical Leaf. Meanwhile, Solrock gets knocked out thanks to Arc's Crunch. Eclipse sends out Magmar, and Aster sends out Electabuzz. I have Gardevoir and Arc gang up on Electabuzz, and take it out. Aster sends out Milotic, which is strange, because I thought Eclipse would have Milotic. Magmar finally decides to use Mach Punch on Arc, when it could have done that before! I have Gardevoir use Magical Leaf on Milotic, but it doesn't do much damage. Odd. Anyways, I send out Corey, and Milotic uses Confuse Ray on Gardevoir, and then uses Confuse Ray on Corey. Corey's Sucker Punch hits, and knocks out Magmar in two more turns. As soon as Gardevoir got her act straight, Milotic knocks her out with Hydro Pump. I send out Persian, and have Persian and Corey gang beat Milotic down to the ground with Cut and Sucker Punch. Aster and Eclipse didn't stand a chance.

Aster and Eclipse are disappointed they lost, but they still wish me good luck finding Cain. Aster says that they hid him here good. Perhaps he's in this room? Eclipse asks Aster if he can shut up just once, and tells him that he basically TOLD me he was here. They then leave anyways. I look around the room, and find a strange machine. As soon as I click a button, the machine moves to the left, revealing a door to another room.

It looks like this is one of Team Meteor's bases... Don't worry, Cain, I'll save you!

On my right as I enter, I find a console. I find that it's a recovery unit to heal my Pokemon with! I heal my Pokemon, and head onward to the core. I find the core of the building, and find Taka with a few grunts and a Camerupt trapped in a cell. Not only that, but I find that Cain is in another cell too. Taka reports to his boss that Camerupt is ready to go. He then notices me shortly, and Cain notices me too. Taka apologizes for capturing Cain, and says that they were ordered to capture him, and he happened to be sailing right by. Cain then says that he's a damsel in distress, and tells me to save him. He even calls me his darling prince... Taka asks me how I found them anyways. He tells me that Azurine Island was meant to be for breeding Pokemon and repopulating the region, so no humans should come here... Though if no humans are here, why is Team Meteor here? He says that the building we're in was a breeding center, until they hijacked it that is... Cain reveals that Team Meteor's trying to attack Apophyll, and Taka says he's right. He reveals that their plan is to take a PULSE Machine up Pyrous Mountain, and strap Camerupt to the machine. THAT'S why they have Camerupt! Taka reveals that Pyrous Mountain is the last active volcano in Reborn. They're going to amplify Camerupt's Eruption attack, and burn away Apophyll off the map. He also says that they were ordered to capture ME, and since I waltzed in here, they're going to do that. But first, Taka's going to battle me.

Taka... Why are you doing this? Reborn would remain beautiful if Team Meteor didn't try to ruin it!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer97.png.cd27d22f619a14df84b7d816cd2ded91.png

Taka sends out Cradily while I send out Gardevoir. I have Gardevoir build up her special attack and special defense stats with Calm Mind, and Cradily uses Confuse Ray on Gardevoir. Eventually, Gardevoir snaps out of confusion, and knocks out Cradily in one hit with a +3 Psychic attack! Taka sends out Floatzel, a new one he got, who nearly knocks out Gardevoir, but faints from Gardevoir's Magical Leaf. Taka sends out Chatot, who knocks out Gardevoir with HEAT WAVE. HOW DOES CHATOT EVEN KNOW THAT MOVE?! Anyways, I send out Arc, and confuse Chatot with Arc's Swagger. Arc nearly knocks out Chatot with Slash, but Chatot ends up knocking itself out from confusion. Seems that I won the battle!

Taka is surprised he lost, but he doesn't care. He lets me go, and tells the grunts to bring Camerupt as they retreat, and hope that I don't try stopping them. He even says that it would be a right shame if I did, saving all those people and all. They retreat, and I let Cain free. I look at him awkwardly from before, and he says that he's joking about that... Though I could still be his prince if I want. He then tells me that we should hurry, or else Team Meteor's going to erupt Pyrous Mountain, and destroy Apophyll! He tells me that he's going to head there now- without getting captured this time- and stop them. He tells me to hurry, and leaves.

I head back to Apophyll Beach, and head to the Academy, where Victoria comes outside and tells me that Cain told them everything. She tells me that Kiki wants us all inside, because she has something important to say. I guess I'll go in there then...

I wonder what Kiki has to say?

Chapter XXVIII: Pyrous Mountain, And The Powerful Team Meteor Leader: Solaris!

I head into Kiki's Room, and find Kiki, Victoria, and Cain waiting for me. Kiki says that they have already seen Team Meteor pass through, and they've begun climbing the mountain. Cain tells Kiki and Victoria that they're going to use a machine to make Camerupt react with the volcano, and erupt. Victoria says that everyone will be killed, but however, Kiki says that it's much more than that. The two places may be separated by the toxic lake, but if Apophyll is destroyed, Reborn City will be hurt as well. Kiki says that Apophyll and Reborn are two sides of the same coin, Reborn, outside the city, and within, is one whole. If one part is lost, the balance will be broken. The power will shift to their favor. We must stop Team Meteor, and time is short. If they've already begun, our only hope is that Cal can hold them off for long enough... We must hurry. However, Kiki's health is deteriorating gradually, and Victoria tells her to take it easy. Victoria tells me and Cain that she's going to stay with Kiki to make sure she's okay. She tells us to go stop Team Meteor. Cain replies, saying that she doesn't have to tell him twice, and starts singing. Cain then tells me that he's going to go ahead up the mountain, and leaves.

I guess it's time for me to head up there too!

I head up to the entrance of Pyrous Mountain, but a Meteor grunt is blocking the way, and he's not even going to battle Cain! All the grunt is doing is standing in the way. Cain tells his Nidoking to push the guy off the edge! Though he's okay, cause he lands on another edge. Cain enters the mountain, and I follow. When I get in the mountain, Victoria shows up. she tells me that Kiki told her to leave, because there was nothing she could do for her. She tells me to lead the way and I will do that.

Lucky for me, Team Meteor cleared the way for me. Either that, or it stayed opened. However, I AM greeted with a few battles. Some of the grunts are even funny when they lose. I even run into a few Meteor Dames I remember. I beat them, and climb up to the summit.

On our way up to the summit, Victoria and I see an Absol.  Victoria wonders why an Absol is here, but wonders if something happened to Cal.  As we get closer, she asks me what I thought of Cal. She then says that ever since he came to Apophyll, She thought he was really cool, helpful and eager. She then tells me that once this is over, she's going to tell him how she feels about him.

Team Meteor... You will be stopped!

We head to the summit, and find Cal, Cain, Taka, and Solaris himself. Victoria finds Cain defeated already, and Cal awkwardly trying to say something.  She thanks Cain, and says we'll take it from here now. She then threatens Taka and Solaris and tells them not to lay a finger on Cal, or anyone in Apophyll. Solaris finds this amusing, and when I show up, he "writhes in fear at what us pups could possibly do." Cain tells me and Victoria that we don't have a lot of time, because as soon as the PULSE builds up enough energy through Camerupt, the whole place is gonna blow! Solaris tells us that we are not permitted to interfere, and tells Taka to deal with Victoria. Taka replies to his command, and calls him... FATHER?! TAKA IS SOLARIS' SON?!?! Seems that he IS Solaris' son, because he even confirms so! THAT explains why Taka doesn't care much about Team Meteor! Solaris tells Taka that he'll deal with me, and says that it won't take him more than a single Pokemon to delete us. The battle begins...

Solaris... Let's finish this.  Here and now.

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer11.png.92728bd60797a323e967b4368a97d1de.png

Team Meteor's Leader Solaris sends out Garchomp, while I send out Cottonee. Yes. COTTONEE. Though I have a plan... I tell Cottonee to use Leech Seed on Garchomp, which hits. Garchomp wipes out Cottonee from a Fire Fang attack, and I send out Hydra to lower Garchomp's attack power. I then send out a Pineco. A LEVEL 4 PINECO. However, before Cottonee fainted, he managed to land a Stun Spore thanks to Focus Band protecting him. I keep switching from Hydra to Pineco while Garchomp wastes away. Solaris decides to use one of his Full Restores, which heals Garchomp's paralysis. Garchomp tries to knock out Pineco, but fails to thanks to Sturdy. However, Pineco heals himself thanks to the Leech Seed from before! It turns into an endless pattern, and Garchomp is slowly wasting away. Eventually, Solaris gets annoyed by this, and tries to use another Full Restore when Garchomp has half of his health. Too bad THAT doesn't work, because Garchomp is STILL suffering from Leech Seed! Hydra nearly gets killed though, because Garchomp is still powerful even when his attack stat is lowered all the way. I keep having Hydra use Dragon Dance until he's fast and strong enough. When Hydra is about to faint, I have him use Ice Fang on Garchomp, which is surprisingly enough to knock him out. Solaris didn't even have to be mad about using the third Full Restore, because he's already mad he lost! Looks like I beat the big bad wolf! He gives me quite an amount of money, which is good.

Solaris tells me that there's no point in continuing, even if I win. Cain gets mad, and Kiki sneaks up behind him. Solaris says that it is inconsequential. Kiki tells Cain to stand aside, and Victoria notices her. She tells her that she should be resting at the Academy because she's too weak. Kiki tells me to stand back, because she will take care of this. She sends out Medicham, while Solaris taunts that no matter how many of us there are, we all can't stop it. The PULSE will reach its full capacity any second now. Kiki is aware of this, and tells Medicham to destroy the infernal machine. However, Solaris tells CAL to stop her! Cal sends his Magmortar out, and Kiki tells Medicham to use Hi Jump Kick. Cal tells his Magmortar to catch Medicham, which it does. Victoria is surprised by this twisted act, and she asks him what he's doing. Cal apologizes to her, saying that he knows that this isn't what she thought of him. He admits that he has a habit of not really being what people want him to be. Victoria asks if he's betraying them, and Solaris tells Cal to dispose the Medicham. Magmortar disposes the Medicham for him by throwing Medicham into the volcano! Solaris tells his Garchomp (Who's strangely still alive), to use Dragon Rush.

"All who oppose Team Meteor will be silenced. Execute!"

Garchomp uses Dragon Rush... But on Kiki... Garchomp rushes up to Kiki, and slashes her to death... Just like what it showed on one of Shade's computers... Cal realizes what Solaris had done, and Victoria rushes to Kiki's side. Cal yells at Solaris, and tells him that was NOT part of the plan! Solaris tells him that she would have died in the flames regardless, and tells him that he has no reason to be upset. He tells Cal that he knew this would happen. Cal is ashamed of himself, and says that he's done. Solaris tells Cal that it seems that he's weak as his brother advised.

Does this mean that Blake is part of Team Meteor?

Cal realizes that Blake talked to Solaris, but before he gets mad, he realizes he's weak. He says that he's weak, and pathetic, and always has been. He says that Kiki helped him realize it, and she helped him accept it.

"Strength isn't what's important. Maybe weakness is standing by, not doing anything to stop the things you hate from happening around you. And maybe I'll stop that right now."

Cal gets over his disappointment, and tells Magmortar to destroy the PULSE with Blast Burn (Which shouldn't even be learned by Magmortars!). Magmortar destroys the PULSE, and Solaris is disappointed in Cal. He asks Cal if he thinks that such a reckless move redeems him. He then states that on the contrary, it condemns him. He tells Cal that Blake was right. In his eyes, Cal is insufferably useless. He states that Cal even killed his own teacher, and laughs. He tells Taka that the operation has been failed, and tells him to retreat, which Taka obeys, and they retreat.

Solaris, you evil, sadistic jerk... When I find you again, I'll wipe out your whole team, not just Garchomp!

Cal calls back his Magmortar, and apologizes to Victoria, saying that he never meant for this to happen. However, she snaps at Cal, asking what DID he mean to happen. She asks if he meant to destroy all of Apophyll, which he tries to redeem himself, but Victoria continues, asking him if he wanted HER dead too, which he tries to say that he didn't mean that, but she gets MAD. She walks up to him and asks him what was he thinking, and asks him if he was just lying to us the whole time, and asks if he ever even cared. Cal backs away, and tries to say that he's sorry, but she walks up to him, and cuts him off. She tells him not to talk to her, and tells him to go away. Cal backs away, and tries to apologize some more, and Victoria says that she doesn't even want to look at him right now... Cal shuts up, and walks away sad. Cain asks Victoria if she's okay, and she says that she's fine. However... Kiki... is dead. Cain says that Apophyll is safe, thanks to her, and Victoria agrees, saying that she died protecting the place she loved. Apophyll was Kiki's home. Everyone there was her family. She built Apophyll from the ground up... She gave her life to it. And her death... Victoria cries for Kiki's death, and says that she's so, so sorry.

We all head back to Kiki's Room, and Victoria presents me with HM04 Strength, as owed to me by her former master. She also tells me that after having witnessed my struggle from my first steps, she would like nothing more than to offer me the Fury Badge, which I earned against Kiki before. However, she cannot. Because Kiki is... no longer a leader, that badge has been invalidated...

THANKS FOR NOTHING, YOU SADISTIC, EVIL, JERK!

Victoria says that she'll take care to contact Ame and make sure that the reserve Fighting Leader is notified. She also tells me and Cain that she will also be remaining here at the Academy henceforth. Apophyll Academy needs a leader, and Kiki chose her to take her place when she is gone. Victoria apologizes to us both, because it looks like we won't be able to travel together anymore. She tells us both to beat the Reborn League for her, which is what I will do. Cain jokes around, saying that usually when he's asked to beat something, it's a little more intimate, but he says that he'll beat the Reborn League for her. Victoria asks if she even wants to know, but Cain's just lightening up the mood. He tells her that there are a few things that come first, like saving the kids. Cain remembers that I still have to beat Aya. He tells me that he's going to go down to the Byxbysion Gate to open it for me. He tells me that the gate is in the South Obsidia Ward. He then leaves,

I will beat the Reborn League too... For you, Victoria... But I won't just beat the Reborn League... I will WIN the Reborn League!

Current Pokemon Stats

Nothing much has changed. I just used a few tricks up my sleeve against Solaris though. I just basically rammed Pineco up Garchomp's ass, and scared the shit out of Garchomp with Hydra. I'm just LAUGHING at Solaris now. Time to find a few more Pinecos, and time to breed Cottonee too!

Yeah, I haven't been writing in a long while, with school and all, but I've also been thinking about ways to beat Solaris. Eventually, I came down with one funy strategy, tested it, and it worked. Eventually, you'll get to see which strategy I used. Stay tuned, as the adventure continues! :D

Chapter XXIX: The Poisonous, Spooky Byxbysion Wasteland, Cal's Confession, The Return Of Fern, And Aya, The New Poison Gym Leader!

Just before I sailed back to the Coral Ward, I found a cave on the edge of Apophyll Beach. I find a Helix Fossil in one of the rocks, and I find TM20 Safeguard. I try to move the rock, however I realize I still need the badge to use Strength. I decide to head back to the Coral Ward.

As soon as I sail back to the Coral Ward, I find it in fog. I switch out my troll team to my main team, and head up to the South Obsidia Ward. I find Cain next to the Byxbysion Gate. Cain says that the reason why he kept stalling me was because he doesn't really like people meeting his family. After all, they kicked him out. He says that if I battle him one more time, he'll give me the key.

Cain, this better be worth the wait... I need to move!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer83.png.d58d7a0175d1aa275c7934a55bee84c5.png

Cain sends out Venomoth, while I send out Hydra. Hydra builds up his speed and attack with Dragon Dance, then throws a few Ice Fangs at Venomoth until it faints. However, Cain saves himself with a Hyper Potion, but Venomoth falls from a critical hit Ice Fang. Cain sends out Nidoking, who faints from Hydra's Aqua Tail. Cain sends out Samurott, who wounds Hydra with a critical hit Night Slash. Cain gives Samurott a Hyper Potion after Hydra Bites Samurott. Samurott flinches from another Bite, and falls from one more. Cain sends out Haunter, who Hydra just knocks out instantly with Bite. Cain sends out Muk. Hydra starts to disobey orders, and gets knocked out from Muk's Sludge Bomb. I send out Corey, who defeats Muk with Sucker Punch. Looks like Cain is defeated!

After accepting defeat, Cain reluctantly opens the Byxbysion Gate. He decides to leave the gate open, because I might not be the only one challenging.... I completely forgot about Fern, didn't I? Cain says that he's going to go hide in some dark corner... He jokes about this, and says that he'll be waiting for me at the Railnet once I have my badge. He wishes me luck, and leaves. I cross the gate, and enter Byxbision.

Time to go into the Byxbysion Wasteland!

I head to the Wasteland, and I find that it is what it is. A lonely, desolate Wasteland. I find two graves. They are the graves of Corey and Elena Molinar. Corey... Which grave is Corey's? The one here, or the one from the Beryl Graveyard? If it's this one, then Molinar must be his last name, and Elinor must be his wife. I climb over debris and find a sign that says Beryl Ward Gym... Perhaps this is the old Beryl Ward? I head deeper, and slide down a steel bar. I find another grave, and find that it's Kiki Mikael Argall's grave. That's gotta be Kiki! I climb the building, and I find a Misdreavus!

I run back to the Pokemon Center in the Obsidia Ward to put a Pokemon back, and on the way, I find Cal. He tells me to hear him out from before. He never meant for this to happen. Kiki never would have... He tells me that he didn't go to Apophyll to infiltrate for Team Meteor. He joined because he wanted to change. And he did change. But Team Meteor had other plans, and they wanted to use him being there, so they directed him to set up the PULSE to destroy the Academy... All of us, including Kiki tried to stop it... But he had sabotaged the machine in the first place. He didn't want anyone to get hurt, so he secretly broke the PULSE when he installed it. Kiki didn't have to die. He apologizes again, and tells me to believe him. He doesn't expect anyone at Apophyll to listen to him though, especially Victoria... So he's going to make himself scarce. Team Meteor will be after him too, now that they know he betrayed them. He then says goodbye.

Cal... I'm worried about that guy... I hope Victoria forgives him...

I head back to the Wasteland, and find Misdreavus, who vanishes when I try to catch it! I guess it wants to play hide and seek. I continue onward, and find machines that are similar to the ones from Corey's Gym. However, these don't make people crazy. I set it to red, and I find a cave. However, I can't go deeper, so I leave. I find a ledge, and jump off it. I set another machine to red, and head back to the railroads, where I find a computer, in which I somehow override to unlock the door to a tall building. I enter the tall building, and find an old man that tells me that Byxbysion wasn't always a Wasteland. However, trash kept reappearing overnight. It seems something's teleporting the trash there... But what?

I head upstairs, and slide down the steel bar. I cross the grass, and slide down the steel bar on the right. I head up some stairs, and find another machine. I switch it so that it's red, and I find the Wasteland Hideout. Maybe Aya's here?

I enter the Hideout, and find a girl with purple hair. She invites me inside, and tells me to go into the living room, but she says that she should get used to this, because it's also a Gym. She asks me if I'm here for a League Challenge, which I reply yes. However, The woman in front of me is not Aya. Aya is her daughter. The woman in front of me is Lana. She yells at Aya, and says that she has another visitor. Aya yells back, and says that she's a little busy right now. I guess today is her first day on the job, because she's in a battle with a different Trainer. Lana tells me that I can stay and watch if I like. She also tells me that next to the door is a machine that I can use to heal my Pokemon. As soon as they found out Aya was the new Gym Leader, a bunch of guys from the Grand Hall came and installed it since there isn't a real Pokemon Center. Also installed the whole arena.

I head to the other room, and find that Aya lost against the challenger. He shows himself, and it's none other than Fern. GREAT... First, I had to deal with a sadistic evil jerk, and now I have to deal with an annoying pest! Can this night get any worse? Fern says that Aya's pretty easy to beat, and even calls her a noob right in front of her! However, Aya snaps at him, and says that she beat him once before. It seems Fern learned his mistakes of using a Grass team on a Poison Gym Leader. Fern explains how he made the switch, and it was easy from there. Aya walks away for a bit, and Fern calls us both noobs. Lana yells at Aya again, saying that she has another visitor. Aya yells back, and Fern says that he can't blame them for wanting a free badge. Aya tells him to shut up, and to leave her alone. A boy with red hair shows up, and asks if this is a bad time to show up. Fern apparently knows who he is, and he snaps at him, asking him what's he doing here. Fern replies that he's sweeping scrubs, and asks how he's doing. The new guy heard that there was a new Gym Leader, so he figured he'd come down and welcome her to the club. He then walks up to Aya, and asks if she's Aya. Aya replies that she is, and he introduces himself as Hardy, Reborn's Rock Leader. He thought he'd give her a warm welcome, but... looks like she already got a sour welcome from Fern. Fern snaps back at him, telling him to keep his snide comments to himself. Aya asks if the two know each other, and Hardy says that he had the misfortune of being in the same class as Fern in the Onyx Trainer's School. Fern defends that Hardy's just jealous that he was the top dog and Hardy was just another loser. Hardy snidely remarks to Fern to keep telling it to himself. Fern also reveals that their sisters used to be close friends, so they happened to get dragged along to places together a bit. Hardy tells him that's all in the past. Aya says that they can keep chitchatting as she goes to heal her Pokemon with the machine in the other room. As soon as she leaves, Fern asks me if I'm going to fight Aya already. He says that she's a total pushover. He says that it'd be a shame if I came down here without one good battle... Oh boy... I'm about to fight this nerd, am I? Sigh...

Step aside, square. Let the REAL hotshot show you how it's done!

Fern sends out Ferrothorn, while I send out Charles. Ferrothorn gets wiped out instantly from a Flame Burst, and Fern sends out a new Pokemon: Krokorok. Of course the Swag Jockey would have a Pokemon like that. I switch out into Hydra, and have Hydra use Dragon Dance and Aqua Tail. Luckily it knocks out Krokorok in one hit. Fern sends out Roserade. Now Hydra decides to disobey my orders. Eventually Hydra faints, leaving me to send out Charles, who burns Roserade with a critical hit Flame Burst. Fern sends out Scyther, who Charles just obliterates with Flame Burst. Fern sends out Serperior, and despite Serperior paralyzing Charles with Glare, Charles manages to wipe out Serperior with Flame Burst, and win the battle!

Fern says that he LET me win, but that's a lie. Hardy remarks that seeing Fern get beat is worth the trip out here itself. Fern still believes that he went easy on me, and says that he wouldn't want to make anyone cry. Aya creeps up behind me, and asks me if I'm ready to battle. She then goes up to her spot, and Fern says that he wants to see this. Hardy says that he'll referee the match. Both Hardy and Fern wish me luck, as I heal my Pokemon and get ready to battle.

I take my place, and Fern's thinking of who he wants to lose more. Aya asks if he hates everybody by default, which he replies with a smug on his face, "Nah, just you". Hardy gets mad, and tells him to lay off of her. Aya tells Hardy that it's perfectly fine, because Fern's right. She says that she's not a good person, and that she shouldn't even be doing this. Hardy gives her a little pep talk, telling her to chin up. He even says that she's going to rock this fight. Aya says that she'd be better off if everybody just left her alone. Hardy says that we'll be going on in a 6 on 6 DOUBLE battle! Aya says that she doesn't want to do this, while Hardy goes on with the rules. Then the battle begins...

Aya, you'll do fine. I know you will. Hell, you'll probably even beat me.

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer13.png.a08cd703faec838fbdbda42503214a0b.png

Wasteland Punk Aya sends out Tentacruel and Muk, while I send out Gardevoir and Corey. They both gang up on Tentacruel and knock it out. When Aya sends out Nidoqueen, I call Corey back and send out Hydra. I have Gardevoir and Hydra build up their stats while Muk and Nidoqueen gang up on Hydra. I do a neat little trick where I can heal Hydra, and still attack with both of my Pokemon. Hydra knocks out Nidoqueen with Dragon Dance, while Gardevoir knocks out Muk with a critical hit Psychic. Aya sends out Gengar and Drapion. Hydra tries to knock out Drapion, but unfortunately, it fails, as Gengar and Drapion gang up on poor Gardevoir, knocking her out. I send out Arc, but unfortunately, Aya uses a Hyper Potion on Drapion, but luckily Arc knocks out Gengar in one hit. When Aya sends out Seviper, Hydra manages to knock out Drapion. Unfortunately, Seviper manages to knock out both Arc and Hydra using Sludge Wave. WITH CRITICAL HITS... I send out Charles and Persian, and have Persian use Fake Out on Seviper, while Charles burns her alive with Flamethrower. Aya gives a Hyper Potion to Seviper in order to keep the battle going, but Persian and Charles just Cut and Burn Seviper to the ground, letting me win the battle!

Aya is surprisingly glad she lost, because that means that she doesn't have to see any of us ever again. Fern says that he would have preferred it if I had bombed after all. He then leaves with a smug grin on his face. Hardy tells Aya not to take a couple losses too hard, and tells her that she put up a solid fight. I just rocked a little harder, and that's all there is to it. Aya replies that she doesn't care. Hardy walks up to her and tries to cheer her up some more, but she just snaps at him. She says that she just doesn't care, and that she never wanted any of this. She says that it was never her job in the first place, and that it was her 'baby' brother Cain's job in the first place. She asks me if I remember Cain, and I walk up to her and say yes. She asks if he said anything about the family, and asks if he hates them. Hardy asks why he would hate her, and she replies that she's just not a good person. She says that Cain hasn't talked to any of them since he ran away. One day, he just up-and-left. Cain didn't even say goodbye to them either, he just left. In reality, CAIN was the one who was supposed to take over the Poison Gym. He disappeared completely, and didn't even take his Pokemon with him. She's stuck doing his job, and their mom won't even talk about him. Aya says that she's too much of a failure, but then Hardy tries to calm her down. Hardy then says that if she wants, he can stay around and help the family out with some stuff. Aya asks him why, and she says that she should just be alone. Hardy tells her that what she should do is give me my badge, and then him and her will get stuff worked out. Aya then calms down for a bit, and walks up to me to give me the badge.

Aya gives me the Venom/Blight Badge, which means that Pokemon up to level 50 will listen to me now. Not only that, but I can FINALLY use the HM Strength outside of battle. She also gives me TM34 Sludge Wave. She then backs away, and says that I can go now, and Hardy says that he'll see me later. He says that his Rock Gym is up in Agate City. I head outside, and Lana remarks that Fern is one rude kid. I then leave for the Byxbysion Wasteland.

Now it's time for some unfinished business in the Byxbysion Wasteland!

Chapter XXX: Mr. Bigglesworth The Garbodor, And Cain's Past!

As I get out of the Wasteland Gym, I find another machine, and set it to red. When I do, I find that the door next to the other tall building is open too. I enter the building to find stairs, which lead to a cavern-like area. I follow the trail until I find another room which has stairs. I climb the stairs, follow the trail, and exit the cave. I find myself on a huge mountain, and slide down the steel bar. I slide down more steel bars, and find another cave. I follow the trail, which leads to another room. When I follow the trail, I find a Shiny Zubat, and catch it. I climb down the stairs, and find another cave. But before I go to the cave, I read the sign, which says these words:

"So dying souls offer the keys to your gain, Let not them suffer to the poison in vain." What does this mean...?

I enter the cave, and find that it's the Byxbysion Grotto. I find two more machines, and set them to red, which the bookcase reveals a secret passage. I find a room with many different caves, so I choose the one on the left first. I find a small tower, with a hollow hole in it. I put the Odd Keystone in it, and I fight a Spiritomb! I catch the Spiritomb, and head into the next room. All I find is a locked gate and a mining rock. Time to head into the next room.

I head into the last room, and I find a huge Garbodor. He's silent at first, but then... He speaks. HE ACTUALLY TALKS!!! He says that his name is Mr. Bigglesworth, and he tells me to love him. He then lunges at me with his two Trubbish, and attacks me!

He sends his two Trubbish after me, and I send out Gardevoir and Corey. Gardevoir knocks out the female Trubbish, while Corey tries to knock out the male one. Then, Mr. Biggles himself comes out. The male Trubbish Self-destructs itself, and faints. Mr. Biggles isn't playing here, because he's level 60! Corey blows a Sucker Punch to him, while Gardevoir knocks him out with a critical hit Psychic! All Mr. Biggles wanted was a hug...

Okay... Was Mr. Bigglesworth even necessary to put in?

After Mr. Bigglesworth sobs all the way home, I find all the hidden items from everything. I then leave, and head back to the hill where I found Misdreavus. I find another passage way, and find a cave. I find a boulder, which I now move with Strength to a hole, where it crushes some rocks. Now I can access the other room! I enter the other room, and I find myself in a hidden dimension. I find a tomb, and I find this place too creepy, so I'm out. I'll be back for that later. Right now, I have to save some kids. I go back to the tall building, and I find Kiki's grave GONE. That grave... Was it hers? That will be solved another day. I head to Apophyll, and head back to the cave with the boulder. I move it, and climb the ladder, only to find another gate. I head back to the Obsidia Ward, where I catch a then to the Opal Ward, where I battle a few Trainers. I head to the Grand Hall, where I battle a few more trainers.

After resting my Pokemon for a bit, I finally head to the Underground Railnet, where I find Cain. Cain sees that I got the badge, and assumes that they told me how he ran away, which is correct. He reveals that he ran away because he needed to get away from his mom. She was upset by some of his... choices... By who he has... fun with... However, he says that there's nothing wrong with what he does, and that she's just living in the past. So he left. He says that it's because of that that he knows what it's like to be out on your own.

"Freedom's kinda a scary thing, especially when you're young."

That's why he's been so set on trying to get through and help Heather... He realizes that he's yapping too much, and says that I can get the rubble out of the way. I start to move the rubble out of the way, and I find myself at the door where Team Meteor took the kids. When I go through the door, the only way in, is to climb the stairs. Cain shows up, and climbs the stairs. So do I. I go through the door, and find myself outside in the North Obsidia Ward. The only building I can reach... is the Yureyu Corporate Headquarters...

Everyone... Please be okay...

Chapter XXXI: The Mysterious Yureyu Building Conspiracy, And The Missing Children Conspiracy!

After taking a deep breath, I open the door to the Yureyu building, and head inside. I find Cain, where he says that the Yureyu building was destroyed in the earthquakes. Cain senses that something is odd from the moment we got in. He says that he's going to follow my lead. He never really did a team-up with me before, and even makes a Senpai joke about it. After that, he just sings the Pokemon Theme Song. YES! My own Bard! We climb to the second floor, where there's nobody on. We then head to the third floor, and find a horde of Team Meteor grunts! We battle through the swarm of grunts, and some even complain about Amaria. One said he even had nightmares about Lapras. One of the grunts says that it's ADORABLE how everyone keeps thinking that earthquakes destroyed Yureyu... which is an odd thing to say...

Maybe earthquakes WASN'T the demise of Yureyu. Maybe a bigger threat is present.

They reveal that they've had Yureyu under their thumbs for quite some time. After beating the grunts, I open the gate with the computer. Me and Cain then head to the fourth floor, where we find Shelly under the grasp of two Meteor grunts. When we show up, one of the grunts threatens that if we take another step closer, they'll cut her throat. Shelly gets scared, and the grunt tells us to just keep moving. Cain says that they wouldn't hurt her, but the grunt says that orders come from the boss. If anyone tries to interfere, they kill her. Cain gets worried, and Shelly tells us to go on and just forget about her. She says that it doesn't matter what happens to her. Looks like we have to move on.

We head to the fifth floor, and find Charlotte dealing with two grunts. She's glad that we're finally here, and Cain says that we ran into other issues. That's what she said. The grunt tells us to back away, or they'll slit her throat. Charlotte turns back to the grunts, and just shames them. The grunts are actually bluffing, because that's what their boss wanted them to say. Charlotte asks if their boss is a guy named Sirius, and tells them to set it aside for now. She tells them to meet her friends, me and Princess Cain, while she introduces us to Simon and Tara, who I've met already. Tara says that I beat them, and they're still mad about that. Cain asks if they're the ones that started it, but is shocked to see that Charlotte is FRIENDS with Team Meteor. She states that they're people too, and that they just happen to be on a different side from us... And her... She says that it sure beats being tied up. Simon says that it's not like they can just let her go. Charlotte then gives us the honor of beating them in a battle... Which we beat them easily.

Tara tells Charlotte to tell her friends to stop being good, but she tells them why don't they stop being bad. Cain even tries to get them to quit Team Meteor too. Simon says that he cannot, because he says that when their work is done, they will have new lives- better ones. Tara says that Team Meteor is going to rebuild the world! By throwing in with them now, they earn a place at the top later! Cain asks what about this world, but Simon says that this world will be erased. Vanished. Gone. They are well aware that what they are doing is wrong, but once they succeed, all this pain will never have existed.

"End justifies the means."

Tara agrees with Charlotte, and Charlotte says that's cool, and she leaves. They give her a look, but she tells them that it's not like they can stop her. She tells us that Shelly was supposed to be on the floor below, and asks if we did not rescue her. Cain tells her that we couldn't get close to her, otherwise they'd hurt her. She calls this a bluff, and heads downstairs.

"We're not evil. We're just looking out for ourselves. Although people may be hurt, or even die, when we create the world, their suffering will be erased. Believe in us, and we will lead you to divinity."

"The day when Team Meteor rebuilds is coming closer and closer. Even if we lose now, it won't matter! Soon, the world can be transformed into a true paradise!"

We head back downstairs, and the grunt gives us the threat again. Charlotte tells them to do it, which shocks Cain. She tells them to kill her, see if she cares. Shelly is shocked at what Charlotte is saying. Charlotte tells them that Shelly isn't even her sister, and that she's only here to flip the switch to get upstairs. The grunt tries to defend himself, saying that they really will kill her. However, this doesn't even affect Charlotte at all, and she tells them to kill her. The grunt tries to say something, but Charlotte just flips the switch, and opens the gate on the fifth floor, and rushes to get Shelly while the two are frozen in shock, while me and Cain rush in to battle the grunts.

After we beat the grunts, Shelly thought that Charlotte really wanted her dead, but it was just an act to save her. Besides, She helped Charlotte escape from the Orphanage. She tells Shelly that you can make someone lose control by making them believe they already don't have any. She tells her that she doesn't want her hurt. Charlotte tells us to head further, because Heather and the twins are further up.

We head up to the sixth floor, where we find Noel locked up in a cage. Charlotte says that they're REALLY CLASSY for locking the others up in cages. She wonders why cages are in a corporate building in the first place. One of the Meteor Knights states that this place hasn't been a corporate building for a long time.

What we believed:

Years ago, Yureyu was the centrepiece of Reborn's economy. Then when the earthquakes started, this place was destroyed, the company broke.

We've been deceived...

The Truth:

Eathquakes didn't destroy Yureyu- Team Meteor did! They infiltrated the company slowly over time, and then shut them down from the inside out. But it was the closure of Yureyu's Power Plant that lead to the city's downfall, which means that Team Meteor destroyed Reborn City the first time!

Team Meteor was set to destroy Reborn City again by destroying Julia's Neo-Circuit Power Plant. However, SOMEONE got in the way, and here I am again. They try to get their revenge by battling me.

After we beat the two Meteor Knights, they say that even if we do as we please, it won't make a difference. Noel says that they took Anna and Heather upstairs. He also says that the Doctor and that strange man are up there too. Charlotte is confident that me and Princess Cain will save the day. Cain is surprised that she's sticking with that name for him, and she says that he earned it. Noel says that they also took something from Anna. He says that they took her Amethyst Pendant, which is very important to her. He says that it was a gift from their real father. When they were left at the orphanage, all they had was Nomos, Nostra, and that pendant. Charlotte asks why Team Meteor would want something like that, but disregards it as she tries to open the cage. She tells us to deal with the Doctor and Team Meteor's Commander. Me and Cain take a deep breath, and head upstairs.

When we head upstairs, we find Dr. Sigmund and Heather, who's being held by Electivire. Sigmund was expecting our return, and walks up to us as he confesses that it was fortunate that Sirius of Team Meteor came to him with the proposal that he did. Sirius had the means to capture the Doctor's fugitives, and for payment, he need only to remove from Heather a single object: a Ruby Ring. At Sirius's behest, the Doctor is holding her captive here for questioning later. He doubts that will be fruitful though, given that she has become withdrawn to the point of silence. Cain asks him whose fault THAT is, and says that after what he did to her, she may not even be able to speak at all! Sigmund states that loss of speech is not among the effects of electroconvulsive therapy, and says that she hasn't lost the ability to speak. Only her will. Yet, we present with such animosity. He asks us if we intend to fight him to reclaim her.

No... I won't fight you, Doctor... Just not yet... I have someone else to deal with.

Cain is surprised at my choice, and Sigmund says that he won't stop us from proceeding onward. He reveals that he may have invested himself in Team Meteor, but he has no regard for their malevolent actions. Yet, he finds himself bound to their service for a different reason entirely- strictly a matter of his personal curiosity... He tells us that there's a name he hears thrown among their officers. It 's a name he used to know, but it cannot possibly be... He then stops, and says that he was speaking too much. He says that for this time only, he will turn away. I try to talk to him again, and he says that he hasn't the mind to contest a battle currently, as he is too enveloped in his theory, impossible as it may be... He then tells us not to expect the same favor in the future.

We head upstairs, and find Anna and the black-coated man who is finally known as Sirius. Sirius reveals that they only needed to ensnare Ruby, and they caught Amethyst, too. Anna begs him to give back the Amethyst Pendant, because it is the only thing she has left of her father... Sirius is surprised, because he actually KNEW her father, and states that her father always was a fool. Anna is horrified that he knows her father, and Sirius just laughs. Cain and I show up, and Cain tries asking Sirius if he can give the Amethyst Pendant back to Anna. Anna is relieved we're here to save the day. Sirius asks us if the Doctor failed to detain us, but really, the Doctor just let us go. Sirius states that he's an old fool, but then says that the task is left to him alone, then. Anna's Amethyst Pendant... and Heather's Ruby Ring... Sirius asks us if we have any inkling of their power, and says that he will NOT relinquish such items for mere sentimalities. If we want them, we're going to have to claim them ourselves.

I may have mercy for ZEL and Taka, but I have NO mercy for you. You're going DOWN, Sirius!

vsTrainer83.png.d58d7a0175d1aa275c7934a55bee84c5.pngvsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer15.png.70e0e943e5457ae0a719bf79c11df396.png

Team Meteor Admin Sirius sends out Hitmontop and Chandelure, while me and Cain send out Gardevoir and Nidoking. Gardevoir tries to use Psychic on Hitmontop, but only flinches from Hitmontop's Fake Out. Chandelure gives Nidoking a hard time with a Psychic attack of his own. Hitmontop then lands a Sucker Punch on Nidoking, nearly knocking him out, but I save him by knocking out Hitmontop with Gardevoir's Psychic. Sirius sends out Manectric, and Cain sends out Samurott after Nidoking gets knocked out. Manectric nearly gets knocked out from a barrage of attacks, but gets healed by one of Sirius' Hyper Potions. Meanwhile, Gardevoir gets knocked out by Chandelure's Shadow Ball, so I switch, and send out Corey. Sirius heals Chandelure, and Corey attacks Chandelure with Sucker Punch, which hits, thanks to the bug in Episode X. Chandelure finally gets knocked out after Samurott hits him with Razor Shell. Sirius sends out Honchkrow, while Corey knocks out Manectric with Sucker Punch. Cain switches Samurott out for Venomoth, Sirius sends out Probopass, and Honchkrow knocks out Corey with Brave Bird. I send out Hydra, who tries to use Dragon Dance, but gets knocked out from Honchkrow's critical hit Brave Bird. I send out Charles, who avoids Probopass' Rock Slide, but hits Venomoth. Cain switches out Venomoth and puts Haunter in its place, while Charles knocks out Honchkrow with Dragon Rage. Sirius sends out Seviper, and Charles and Haunter get hit from Probopass' Rock Slide. Haunter tries to get Probopass asleep with Hypnosis, but a Lum Berry wakes Probopass up. Seviper strikes Haunter with Night Slash, knocking Haunter out. Cain sends Samurott out again, and Charles avoids Rock Slide from Probopass. However, after hitting Seviper with Flamethrower, Charles gets knocked out from Seviper's Aqua Tail. I send out Persian, and hit Seviper with Fake Out, while Samurott knocks out Probopass with Revenge. Since Seviper is all that's left, me and Cain gang up on Seviper with Cut and Razor Shell, knocking Seviper down to the ground. Sirius then tells us that we have no clue what we're fighting for or against. At least we won!

Sirius gets fed up with us, and says that he's through with these games. He has what he wanted, so he'll be leaving now. He and the rest of Team Meteor retreat, and we go over to Anna and Cain asks if she's okay. Anna says that she's fine, but Sirius has her pendant... Her father's pendant... She doesn't even know her father, and Sirius does? This is all so strange... Anna declares that she's going after him, but Cain tries to calm her down by assuring her that we will be seeing Sirius again, and when we do, we can take back the pendant AND the ring. He also tells her that we don't even know where he went now. All that matters is the children's safety. Anna sobs, and says that Sirius took something... that's part of her soul... Cain calms her down, and they leave. After they leave, I notice a key at the bottom right corner of the room, which is actually the Railnet Key! Now we can find a way out of here, and find safety! As I climb downstairs, the whole building is empty. Team Meteor is officially gone, but they'll probably be back. I leave the mysterious building what was once Yureyu, and head back to the Underground Railnet.

Sirius... Just what do you plan to do with those items? How do you know Noel and Anna's Father?

Doctor... Why do you still work with Team Meteor? Who is this officer Team Meteor speaks of?

I need answers, and I WILL find them!

Chapter XXXII: The Underground Road To Chrysolia!

I head back to the Underground Railnet, and find everyone down there, even Heather! I honestly thought Heather would get taken away by the Doctor. I guess the others rescued her. I talk to Charlotte, and she says that the door's still locked. She asks me if there was a key up in the Yureyu Building somewhere, which I have the key. I talk to Cain, who's trying to get Heather to talk, but she's still as silent as ever. I talk to Shelly, who feels that she's leaving a lot behind in the city, but she can't go back there if the Doctor finds her... Wait, why would the Doctor want her? Oh yeah, she's a fugitive. Noel is trying to calm Anna down, who's thinking that the world is spinning around her. I go up to the door, and unlock it with the Railnet Key. Charlotte is happy that the door is unlocked, and asks everyone if we're still heading to her sister's place in Chrysolia. Shelly doesn't have anywhere else to go, and Anna wants to get there quickly, because she says that Nostra isn't feeling very good... I wonder if she means that she herself isn't feeling good? Noel notices this, and says that Anna is feeling pale. Anna denies this, and says that it's definitely Nostra. She says that Nostra is dizzy and tired. Noel doesn't buy it, and Charlotte says that we need to hurry, and that they're going on ahead. She wants us to meet at the Railnet's exit, and everyone leaves for the exit.

I follow them, and find that there's a lot of twists and turns. I meet everyone at the exit, but we're all blocked again. Cain says that Heather still won't speak, and Noel says that Nostra seems fine according to Nomos, but Anna... doesn't, while Anna is denying it. Charlotte is trying to find out how to get through the giant door, and Shelly says that she knows.

According to Shelly, when the Underground Railnet was made, they didn't really want people wandering in and out of it, like what we're doing now. So they made gates, like the one in front of us, that would open for trains, but not for people. However, it works on a digital signal, so we don't necessarily have to drive the train itself. It works if there's the front of a train on the same track that connects to where we are now. Unfortunately, the tracks in this place are so disconnected,.. Basically, if we complete a track from a train to this gate, it should open.

I head all over the place to find the train. Eventually, I find the train, and another gate too. Let's see if I can try to open both gates. I finally manage to open one of the gates, and find a young man unconscious underground. I wake him up, and he's relieved that he's been found. He thought he would die down here, but looks like I've come to save the day. He says that some time ago, he was walking in Obsidia with his girlfriend, and this huge vine just lashed up through the ground, and pulled him down here. He thought he would die, but not anymore! WAIT A MINUTE!!! I remember talking to his girlfriend about it! He thanks me so much for finding him, and says that he couldn't move past all this debris, but he has to find his girlfriend. He doesn't have much strength, but he says he's capable of finding his way out. He thanks me again, and heads back to the Pokemon Center. I head downstairs to a dark corridor, and find a Dusk Stone. I head back to the maze with all the tracks, and after a while of flipping switches, I finally managed to open the gate that leads us to Chrysolia. Not only that, but I also found a way so I can go to the other gate when I want to, as I can't have both gates opened. Before heading back to the meeting spot, I head to Obsidia's Pokemon Center to make sure the young man made it back okay. Sure enough, he did, and he thanks me again for saving him. He says it's not much, but he rewards me with a Sticker for the Obsidia Department Store! His girlfriend also thanks me for saving him, and after they say thanks, I head back to the Underground Railnet.

After I get to the meeting spot, I talk to everyone. Everyone's happy I got the gate open, and Charlotte says that they're all right behind me. We all head outside, and Heather sends out her Salamence and flies away. So much for helping her... Second she sees sunlight, she's gone. Cain and Shelly are a bit annoyed as well, cause they tried to help her. Cain tells us that he's going to still go after her, just until he can make sure she's safe. He says he'll catch up with us later, and leaves. Charlotte says goodbye to Princess, and Noel says that Anna is practically white. Anna still denies that she's sick, and says that it's Nostra who's not feeling well. Charlotte tells us to keep moving so 'Nostra' can rest. She tells the kids to follow her, and Noel remarks that she's only a few years older than them after she leaves. Anna tells the others to get going, and they follow Charlotte. As I follow them, I notice a few earthquakes coming from the mountains.

I hope the others are okay...

I head inside the mountain, and learn that it is Tanzan Mountain. I find the others near some metal. I guess the metal must be new, because Charlotte has never seen this junk before in the mountain, which isn't a good sign... Another earthquake occurs, and Charlotte tells us to keep moving. As I progress deeper in the mountain, more earthquakes occur. I find a fork in the mountain, and also find Charlotte, who tells me that her sister's home is just through the path she's at. The way through this place is pretty discrete if I'm not looking for it. Makes it a cozy little hideout. Her family's actually used it for years. She tells me that the others already went ahead, and she tells me that she'll follow me. I head outside, and go the right path. I hear more earthquakes, and I find Charlotte. I guess she's been counting flowers, because Laura's been planting flowers again. I guess I took the right path, because it was the only path. I find Charlotte's house, and I go inside.

What's with all these earthquakes? Whatever it is, I'm going to find out... Soon...

Chapter XXXIII: The Strange Spinel Town, The Mysterious Chrysolia Forest, And Knowledge Of Ancient Reborn!

I head inside the huge house, and find everyone talking to the girl with pink hair. Laura's here! Just when she's surprised to see Noel and Anna, Charlotte comes inside after me. Laura's surprised to see everyone, but she thought they were all at the Orphanage. Charlotte tells her that they've had enough of the geezer, so they hooked him up to his own shock machine, and gave him the once-through. Laura gets scared, and asks if this is true, but Charlotte says that she's just kidding. She wishes that they really did though. Instead, we flew the coop, and we need to lay low here for a while. Charlotte introduces me and Shelly to Laura, her sister. Laura says that it's a pleasure to meet us both, if unexpected... Shelly says that it's nice to meet her too. Charlotte tells Laura that me and Shelly helped them escape from the Doctor, and they thought it might be too dangerous for us to go back to the city, so we'll be staying here too for a while. I don't know about Shelly, but I am MORE than capable of hanging around at the city. Well, for side quests, of course. Heck, I even helped the police, so I am fine. Though I should stay, for the safety of the children.

Noel asks Laura if there's anywhere Anna can lie down, because 'Nostra' isn't feeling well, apparently. Laura completely understands what he means by 'Nostra', and tells them to follow her upstairs. They head upstairs, and Charlotte tells us that Laura was also kept with them at the Orphanage, until very recently. Laura just turned eighteen, so as a legal adult, she was finally free to go. She also says that this place was their parents' a long time ago, so it's definitely safe here. By the looks it, Laura redecorated the place... Again... Shelly asks Charlotte what ever happened to her parents, but Charlotte says that she'd rather not talk about it. Shelly apologizes, and Laura comes downstairs. She says that Anna went right to sleep, and tells us that she's running an awful fever.... Charlotte asks Laura if they have any medicine around, and unfortunately, they don't. However, there's a Pokemart in a nearby town that should be selling some. The town is called Spinel Town, and it's not far from here. Charlotte asks me if I can go into town and get some medicine for Anna. She also says that Spinel Town is completely separate from the city, and says that if I go back from the cove and follow the train tracks east, I'll find it. Laura tells me to follow her, and I talk to Shelly. She hopes Anna is okay, and asks me if I remember when she told her that she has a lot of friends. Well, Shelly says that it's not true, but it made her really happy anyway... I talk to Charlotte next, and she says that Laura may have some ticks, but she's' a good person. Charlotte then tells me not to think less of Laura, which I don't anyways.

I head upstairs, and Laura shows me my room where I'll be staying. I rest, and then talk to Noel. He tells me that Anna started feeling sick the second Sirius took the pendant from her. I leave the house, and head back to the tracks. I head east, and I wind up in the Chrysolia Forest. As I head deeper in the forest, I notice parts of the train tracks disappearing. Ignoring it, I move onward. I battle some trainers, and notice that some trees appear at parts of the forest I've already been in! Maybe they teleported from another location? Eventually, I go back to where I was, and someone falls from the sky! When I go to wake him up, he isn't responding.... Is he... dead? I head deeper into the forest, and I start noticing some earthquakes, and some bushes disappearing! Eventually, I make it out of the forest, and head into Spinel Town!

I guess Charlotte was right when she said to follow the train tracks. I talk to the fellow at the entrance, and he tells me that I have to get out of here. He states that the town is complete disarray. He says that things disappear and reappear somewhere else, it's chaotic. He also says that there have been earthquakes as well! No one has any clue what is going on. Time to find some evidence!

I go inside a house, and everything in it disappears except for the girl. I guess it's true, things HAVE been disappearing. But to where? I find the Pokemart, but as soon as I try to go inside, it disappears! I head inside another building, and an old man tells me that Serra retired to a Gym Leader position after her son was born. She didn't feel she could be a model anymore after that... Incidentally, her son is a little odd... All he does is explore the forest or lock himself in his room all day... I talk to a girl, who says that Spinel Town is usually peaceful. After I talk to her, she vanishes in thin air!

I head inside a museum, and learn something quite interesting...

"Although the city was destroyed within the past decade, this wasn't the first era of destruction the region has ever known... Long ago- much, much longer- an ancient civilization called this ground their home... Little is known about them, but some of their structures still remain- ancient inscriptions, tomes, and such artifacts... These are the things we've gathered here. Collectively, they speak of a certain object, heralded by the culture as the centrepiece of their religion... For all we know, whatever it is could still be buried beneath the rebuilt city!"

I learn a little bit more about the history of Reborn.

"The ivory beast beget its light... And through a song in darkness, was the first breath breathed into like creatures..."

"Born of the heaven-sent stone... Ivory coat with an arching collar..."

"An enormous enigmatic stone burning with energy... Descended from the heavens..."

"Thought to be the end of the world... But it was only the beginning..."

"Four keys of the stone's door... Carved from the blessed crystal cast..."

"Winding tunnels forged of stone glowing with power... A massive cathedral constructed around the crater..."

What do all of these inscriptions mean? I must find out!

I head upstairs, and find a few scientists who can revive fossils for me. I have a Helix Fossil, but I'm saving it for later. Since Serra might be the Gym Leader here, I head to her home.

A few more things teleport, and earthquakes occur, but I don't mind. When I get to the door, a young man with black and red hair comes out, and wonders where Luna is. It takes him a second to realize I'm not Luna, and he apologizes. He says that he was supposed to investigate the source of a loud noise. He steps outside, and sees that the Pokemart is on top of Serra's house! He opens the door and tells his mother that the Pokemart fell on top of the house. WAIT A MINUTE!!! This guy is BENNETT! A woman with pink and teal hair comes out, and sees what happened. She says that's probably why they couldn't get the balcony door open. She notices me afterwards, and introduces herself as Serra, the Ice Gym Leader of Reborn! AS for the shop, she says that we might be out of luck. She invites me inside, and also tells Bennett to come inside too. I enter the Volclain Estate, and meet Bennett. He says that he is a lepidopterist, a person who studies butterflies and moths. He says that something about how little insects can go from what they are to something much more is so exciting. For example, according to him, Cascoon have perfect memories. Despite never moving or doing anything, they'll never forget a battle! Then once they evolve, they're remarkably able to exact any form of retaliation for what happened earlier in their life! He says that they truly are small geniuses... Then Serra tells him that's enough and that he may be boring me. He then obeys his mother.

I head all over the mansion, and in one of the rooms, I find TM77 Psych Up! I head downstairs, and talk to Serra. Unfortunately, she doesn't have a solution as to how I can reach the Pokemart. As I have noticed, strange things have been happening in this town for the past few days. She may be a Gym Leader, but she can't say she's prepared for everything disappearing, and Pokemarts landing on top of her house. All we can do might be to hope that it decides to reappear somewhere better... She says that I am welcome to stay here. Incidentally, I am a challenger to the Reborn League, and she happens to be the Ice-type Gym Leader. Bennett remarks that Luna is also a Gym Leader, and Serra says that she's not here right now though. Bennett asks me if I have, at any point, seen a young girl with very pretty blonde hair, and a fancy black and white dress, and very beautiful, too. Serra tells him that's enough, and says that she's sure she'll come back if she wants to. Serra explains that Luna is her adopted daughter... Although she's not really sure how, Luna kind of just appeared at their door one day, and claimed that Serra was her mother... However, Serra is quite sure that's not the case. She's only had one child, and he's with us right now. Nonetheless, she insisted that she live with them. Luna's a good girl, but Serra has been trying to find out who her real parents are... However, she's had no luck. And now, Luna's run off again. Everything seems to slip away from Serra... She doesn't know how to go about, finding Luna's real parents... It's not as if they're just going to randomly appear at their doorstep one day...

However... The doorbell rings, and someone IS at the door. Serra asks Bennett to get the door, which he does. Few seconds later, he returns with a strange man with white hair and white robes...

"Prosperitas, Pax Pacis, Obseqium. Blessings of the Lord Arceus upon your house."

He introduces himself as El, a servant of his Lord Arceus. Serra welcomes him to her home. She asks if he's trying to get to the Pokemart too. However, he says that she is incorrect. Instead, He has come looking for his daughter. It's as if he knew she would say what she said earlier! Bennett is scared, because OBVIOUSLY he has a crush on Luna. El is pleased that he knows Luna, and tells us that Luna is a child who has lost the Lord's light. She walks a path of darkness, and as such, she turned her back on El as well. She has denounced him as her father and run away. He has come to reclaim her. Serra is delighted by this news, but unfortunately, Luna ran away from here, too. El asks her if she has any idea where Luna might have gone, but Serra tells him that Luna didn't say anything. She disappeared as quickly as she came... Kind of like everything in this town lately... She asks Bennett if Luna told him anything, and unfortunately, he doesn't know either. El says that he would be most obliged if she would allow him to linger for just a short while... In the meantime, I will get ready for my battle.

Serra... Get ready, because I'm not going that easy on you!

Chapter XXXIV: The Mysterious El, The Bug-Loving Bennett, And Beauty Queen Serra!

After training my Pokemon, I find a Good Rod in the house that was blocked by a tree at the entrance of Spinel Town. As I head back to Serra's mansion, many more strange things happen to the town. For example, there's a train in the middle of town, the fountain disappears, it's all chaotic.

Once I head back to the mansion, I talk to Serra. She remarks on how lively her home is now that me and El are here. She says that since we're waiting for the Pokemart to move, she invites me to battle her for her badge. She says that it might even be an easy win for me, because she says that she's not cut out to be a Gym Leader. However, she says that it was all that was open to her. She then tells me that she used to be a fairly known model, and asks me if I have heard of her. She then continues her story, and says that she gave up her career for her son, She doesn't regret it either. Bennett interrupts her, and she states that Bennett is actively trying to improve his own skills. She also says that he generally insists that he battles any challengers she has first. And that means that I have to battle him before I can battle her. However...

I decide to battle El first, because I think battling him will train my Pokemon quite a bit. El advises that I would not enjoy challenging him in Bennett's place. However, since I do not care, I talk to him again. He's surprised that I wish to challenge him, and he is intrigued. He then agrees to humor me with a short engagement...

Aduro, Creo, Iudex... Mei Divinitus! Let Judgement rain down upon thee. In thy qualms, a new light awakens, a beacon of truth, let it be thus revealed.

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer19.png.8b5285a856531303314f7e8a26f59124.png

Parson El sends out Snorlax... A LEVEL 65 SNORLAX... While I send out Hydra. I use the switching technique to decrease Snorlax's massive attack stat, even if it means knocking down almost all of my Pokemon in the process. However, I managed to lower Snorlax's defense with Corey's Rock Smash, and I also managed to burn Snorlax with Charles' Flamethrower. Eventually, when Snorlax's health gets low, El decides to use a FULL RESTORE on Snorlax... Great... Eventually, most of my Pokemon faint, and I send out Hydra, and by this point, Snorlax's attack stat is down -5. Hydra sets up with Dragon Dance three times, and then uses Aqua Tail, which nearly knocks out Snorlax. Eventually, Snorlax is finally knocked out with another Aqua Tail, and Hydra gets a TON of Exp. Points! He then mutters more words, and I win the battle!

He says that Light is the unlimited potential of life, and yet I have overcome it. He says that as impressive as it may be, there is no meaning to such a thing. He says that in short, my destiny lies elsewhere. I head to the Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon, and then I head back to battle Bennett, who states that he will be happy to demonstrate for me the fruits of his research.

Bennett, I have a feeling we'll be seeing each other again after this... So I'll just stop you right now.

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer18.png.cdb65288aa9ceed8f6e6b5df5835408a.png

As a Lepidopterist, Bennett sends out Larvesta, while I send out Hydra. Hydra builds up his attack and speed with Dragon Dance, while Larvesta is just building up speed with Flame Charge. Eventually, I finally have Hydra attack with Aqua Tail, which instantly knocks out Larvesta. Bennett sends out Mothim, who falls immediately after Hydra uses bites it with Ice Fang. Bennett then sends out Dustox, who also faints from Ice Fang. However, it manages to survive, allowing Bennett to heal it with a Hyper Potion. After another Ice Fang fails to knock out Dustox, Bennett heals Dustox with another Hyper Potion. After he runs out of Hyper Potions, his Dustox finally falls to Hydra's mighty Ice Fang. He sends out Butterfree, who faints immediately from Ice Fang. Bennett sends out Masquerain, who also falls to Ice Fang. Bennett sends out Venomoth, his last Pokemon, who faints from a critical hit Ice Fang. Bennett realizes that he still has ways to go, and I win the battle!

El is impressed with our battle, and believes that me and Bennett both have been gifted by Arceus' light. Bennett replies that he doesn't believe in such 'light', but instead diligence and commitment. El tells him that such diligence will indeed take him far. He asks Bennett what his dream is, and Bennett tells him that someday, he'd like to become an authority on bug types, and maybe even a Gym Leader. El is surprised at his goal, and asks him if he would want to be a member of the Elite Four. Bennett replies that the idea would be unthinkably fantastic. However, as he has said, he still has a long way to go before he even has a chance. El is inspired by his dedication, and offers service to Bennett. Serra asks El what connections he has to the Elite Four. El knows that it is inconsequential, but he sees potential in her son. He asks her if she would permit Bennett to embark on a sort of training excursion, and even states that if he were to excel, he could even join the ranks of the Elite. Bennett is surprised and amazed by what El is saying, and El says that he means it. Serra says that if that's how it is, then it's not her place to stop him. El gets off of the couch, and tells Bennett to accompany him outside so he can discuss the details with him. He and Bennett leave, and I go and heal my Pokemon.

I talk to Serra, and it seems that she's taken aback by that turn of events. She knows that her son will have to leave eventually, but she's just not sure she's ready for that. It feels like lately, her life has just been one loss after another. She used to have so much... Fame, money, even a lover... It's hard for her to hold up a modeling career when she was expecting a child though. That was only the first in a long line of dominoes. Now, instead of having her old career, she is a Gym Leader. She is fine by this, however, as Ice is the most beautiful type.

Within reflections and crystal imperfections, there is art.

It's something that she could never hope to live up to again, but at least she can be a Gym Leader. She tells me that if I'm ready, then the battle may begin. She explains the rules, and the battle begins. She says that the battle will be over before I know it, just like everything else...

Serra, even though Bennett may be going away, don't give up. Find a new purpose to make you shine!

vsTrainer0.png.2e413ed3f48c8d60363b9706639cbcef.pngvs.png.fa779e7deea06f1a0131c54153205bd4.pngvsTrainer20.png.73befb0a0e53672bc223ecfed0b08ce6.png

Beauty Queen Serra sends out Cloyster, while I send out Charles. Charles burns Cloyster with a critical hit Flamethrower, but Cloyster survives with a Focus Sash. However, Flamethrower leaves a burn on Cloyster, and Cloyster's Rock Blast misses, which means that Cloyster is knocked out. Serra sends out Abomasnow next, who burns from Flamethrower. Serra sends out Lapras, I switch out Charles for Gardevoir, and set up Calm Mind. Gardevoir then uses Psychic a few times, and knocks out Lapras. Serra then sends out Froslass, who knocks out Gardevoir quickly. I send out Charles again, while she hits with Frost Breath, and switches out Frosslass for Cryogonal, who gets the Flamethrower. She sends out Frosslass again, and strikes Charles down with Blizzard. I send out Arc, who takes a Shadow Ball, and Crunches Froslass. Arc manages to avoid a Blizzard, and Serra heals Froslass with a Hyper Potion. Arc then knocks out Froslass with another Bite once the Reflect from Cryogonal is down. Serra sends out Avalugg, and I send out Corey, who is knocked out by Avalugg's Avalanche. I send out Arc again, who suffers the same fate as Corey did. I send out Persian, who flinches Avalugg with Bite. Once Avalugg's health gets low, Serra gives it a Hyper Potion. Eventually, Avalugg manages to attack, and when it does, it knocks down Persian. I send out Hydra, and Serra uses ANOTHER Hyper Potion. Eventually, Avalugg gets knocked down with a Dragon Danced Aqua Tail and Bite. After a long battle, I finally won. Serra gives me the advice to hold on to success while I can.

Serra tells me that Ice, like a mirror, will never be perfect again once it's cracked. It seems that she has already reached that point. She tells me that Bennett shows potential, and I have earned the Rime Badge.

Serra gives me the Rime Badge, which means that Pokemon up to level 55 will be happy to listen to me. Furthermore, the Rime Badge slightly boosts the speed of all of my Pokemon. Last, but not least, she also gives me TM79 Frost Breath, which always lands a critical hit. She tries to say more, but then an earthquake occurs. Serra bets that that was the Pokemon Center falling on her house just now, too.

Meanwhile...

El is outside talking to Bennett, and says to him that he's sure that Bennett realizes that for him to take an unknown such as Bennett, and introduce him to the Elite Four is not an easy feat. Bennett is well aware of that, and El says that he can do it. However, as he is doing Bennett a great service, he expects the same in return, in which Bennett obliges to that. What El wants to know is information about his daughter. He knows that Bennett did not share all that he knows, and Bennett is well aware of that too. El asks him where Luna went, and Bennett replies that Luna may have mentioned Vanhanen Castle. Apparently, El know that place, as he is disgusted by the sound of it. Bennett is a bit confused, and El says it's nothing. Just then, the Pokemart disappears from the balcony of Serra's home, and off to who knows where. Both notice this sudden disappearance, and El asks one more thing from Bennett. He asks that when she left, if she had on her a certain Emerald Brooch he had given to her. He asks Bennett if she still has it, and Bennett replies that she does, while saying that she looks great on it, but then snaps himself out of it. El is satisfied, and says that Bennett has served his purpose. El tells him that it's time to go, but Bennett wants to say goodbye to Serra. However, El says that there is no time for that, and asks him if he wants to miss his chance. He tells Bennett to come along, and they leave.

I head outside and try to look for the Pokemart, but it's not at its regular spot either. WAIT A MINUTE! Since junk is at the Byxbysion Wasteland, I'll check there! However, as I check the Chrysolia Forest, I find that the Pokemart may be here instead. Eventually, I make it back to the tracks, and find that the Pokemart is near the Tanzan Mountain. I get in there, buy the medicine, and forty Pokeballs, and head back to the Hideout.

What would El want with the Emerald Brooch? Is the Emerald Brooch just like the Ruby Ring, the Saphire Bracelet, and the Amethyst Pendant?

Chapter XXXV: The Huge Tanzan Mountain Conspiracy, Mr. Prodigy Noel, And Charlotte's Past!

I head inside the house, and the first thing I see on the table is a purple magazine called "Dragon Tamer Monthly." Not sure I should be reading this, BUT... Oh well. On the cover story, it has Saphira, who appears to be posing scandalously, under-dressed and covered only by an artful selection of foamy bubbles... WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ!?!  Honestly, I didn't expect Saphira to be into that sort of business.  But she is an adult after all, so to each their own.

Anyways, I head upstairs, and everyone's in Anna's room, all worried about poor Anna, who's sleeping in her bed. Luckily, I have some medicine for her! Laura wakes her up, I give her the medicine, and Anna is so happy. However, instead of drinking the medicine herself, she dumps it all over Nostra! Everyone is shocked at what she's doing, but she replies that Nostra's drinking it. Charlotte replies that Nostra isn't the one they're worried about. Anna says that Nostra drank all of it, and says that Nostra's feeling much better. She jumps out of bed, and thanks me for getting the medicine, because I saved Nostra's life. I guess I saved hers too, if she's up and happy. Noel states that Nostra's not alive, but Anna tells him off, saying that Nomos wants him to stop lying, and that he should listen to Nomos. Charlotte also notices that Anna is feeling a lot better, and everyone's relieved. Anna turns around to see Laura, and was completely unaware that Laura was here the whole time. Anna apologizes for Nostra causing us trouble, and especially apologizes to me, and says that maybe they can make it up to me now...

Anna asks Noel if he and Nomos can do a Gym Battle with me, and Noel is shocked, considering that it's all of a sudden. However, Anna is serious, as she feels that it's really, really important that I collect every badge really soon. She says that since we have two Gym Leaders here, which are Noel and Charlotte, it only makes sense. Charlotte tells her that I am not quite to her rank yet, so she'll pass. Anna is fine with that, and asks Noel if can battle me. Noel tells her that Nomos says that now might not be the best time. Anna tells Noel that Nomos said that it was a GREAT time, and tells everyone to head outside so I can earn another badge already. She leaves, and Laura has ceased to understand Anna. Charlotte, however, says that she, herself, never understood Anna in the first place. That's why Anna's so interesting. Charlotte asks everyone else if they're coming, and they all leave too.

I head outside, and everyone is watching from the sidelines. Shelly is happy to see another one of my Gym Battles, and asks me if I will rematch her someday. I probably will, who knows. Laura wishes me luck, and tells me not to trample the flowers, because she spent a bit of time on them. Anna is rooting for me, and Charlotte's the referee. I talk to Noel, who doesn't really see the point of battling right now, but he obliges, and tells me to take my place. Charlotte explains the rules, but then Saphira flies in with her Dragonite. I'm guessing that the magazine earlier was her magazine, but I can't be too sure.

Saphira is surprised to see Charlotte and the other orphans, and Charlotte tells her that me and Shelly gave them a hand, and helped them get away from the Doctor twice already. Unfortunately, Saphira has bad news; It's about to be three times. Anna is nervous, and Saphira tells us that the Doctor is coming here. Now. And he's not alone. His orderlies are with him, and there's a group in black crossing the lake to here. What's worse is that they have cut off our only escapes. Noel recognizes the group, and it's Team Meteor. Saphira spots them too, and says that there's a full horde of them. Laura asks what we're going to do, and Saphira says that running is not an option. Apparently, running never WAS an option. She tells Charlotte, Anna, Noel, and Shelly to get in the house and find somewhere to hide. As for me and Laura, we have to defend the house. If anyone gets in, we destroy them. She says that NOTHING is going to touch her family, and tells me that Charlotte is under my protection. She says that the Doctor can't take Laura, because she's of age. However, he CAN take the kids, and that's bad. I completely understand the mission, and Saphira says that the Doctor is coming around the long way, but Team Meteor is on the water. Apparently, Team Meteor thought they were being clever by making sure we couldn't escape that way. Fortunately, this means that they're vulnerable on the water's surface. Saphira says that she's going to go ahead and take down as many of them as she can. She tells all of us to assume our positions, and she flies off with Dragonite. Charlotte tells me that Saphira is their older sister, and Noel says that we need to hurry inside. Charlotte tells us to go inside, and we do.

Noel says that there aren't a lot of good hiding spots here. Chances are if anybody gets in, they'll be able to find the kids. Charlotte says that means that me and Laura are their primary line of defense here. She says that Laura is part of the Elite Four, so nothing's going to get past her. As for me... Well, I'm practically a wrecking ball. Any dumb Meteor or Doctor who gets here is going to get their face smashed in. She tells the other kids that it's not a great idea if they all hide in the same place. Though if they hide in the same room, wouldn't that increase their chances of getting saved? Anna and Noel decide to hide upstairs, and Charlotte and Shelly decide to hide in the kitchen. Laura says that she'll be guarding the upstairs, while I take downstairs. She tells me to try not to get the living room dirty, but she changes her mind. Charlotte is happy with this plan, and tells everyone to take their positions.

After everyone breaks, Doctor Sigmund arrives with his orderlies.  Sigmund states that he has no intention of extending to me the same mercy as when last we met. He says that he is here to reclaim what I have stolen from him: The children. He explains that those children belong at the Orphanage, and they are his property. He tells the orderlies to search the upper floor, and says that he will eliminate me. They head upstairs, and the battle begins.

Doctor... I will NOT let these children be shocked to death by you anymore! If you want them, you're going to have to get through ME.

Dr. Sigmund Connal sends out Jolteon, while I send out Gardevoir. Jolteon attacks with Thunderbolt, while Gardevoir keeps using Calm Mind. After a few Calm Minds, I heal Gardevoir with a Hyper Potion, then have Gardevoir build up a few more times. After Gardevoir builds up, she uses Psychic, which knocks out Jolteon with a critical hit. Sigmund sends out Luxray, who gets knocked out by Psychic too. He sends out Lanturn, who goes down quick from Magical Leaf. He sends out Elektross, who gets wiped out from Psychic. Sigmund starts to get frustrated, because he sends out his strongest Pokemon, Electivire. However, even the big bad Electivire cannot escape the Psychic Massacre. As a last attempt to stop me, Sigmund sends out Rotom. who manages to survive Magical Leaf. Sigmund gives Rotom a Hyper Potion, and Gardevoir attacks with Magical Leaf again. Sigmund heals Rotom with another Hyper Potion, and Rotom gets attacked again. Sigmund starts to get annoyed, and he heals Rotom with his last Hyper Potion. Now that those are out of the way, Gardevoir finishes off Rotom, and I win the battle, despite Sigmund saying that I'm only delaying the inevitable.

After I beat the Doctor, Sirius arrives, cursing Saphira under his breath. The Doctor turns around, and asks Sirius where his men are. Sirius replies that his men are gone. Heck, they're all dead for all he knows. He says that that accursed witch with the Dragonite came and shot them down as they were crossing the lake. However, he 'clipped her wings' in return, and hauled himself out of the water. Now he is NOT leaving here empty-handed. He asks where the children are, and Sigmund replies that I'm protecting them. Sirius says that he can't help but notice that there are now two of them, and only one of us. He says that if they split up, my actions will only tell them where the children are hiding, and I can't stop both of them at once. He tells Sigmund that he's going to head upstairs, and he tells Sigmund to go through the door that leads to the kitchen. He then asks me who I'm going to stop, The Doctor, or himself. Why can't Laura just block the door to the upstairs like what Cain did back at the orphanage? Since Saphira told me to protect Charlotte, and since the Doctor is REALLY starting to get on my nerves, I will stop him. Besides, Laura will stop Sirius, so it's fine. I walk behind Sigmund, blocking his path. Sirius then decides to take a look upstairs. How do I know if he's not reading that magazine in the corner? Anyways, once he's gone, Saphira arrives to help me stop Sigmund. He states that if she's here, then her sisters must be here after all. He then looks around the living room for Charlotte and the others. Saphira walks up to Sigmund and says that there's no one here, just her. What about ME? Sigmund corrects her by saying that's 'Doctor' to her. She walks up to him more and says that he's not a Doctor, but a criminal. She also tells him that she was told that Charlotte left him a nice little scar, and asks him what he probably told her long ago...

"How does that make you feel?"

As she walks closer to him, the Doctor backs away every inch. She says that it's been a while, and says that she remembers VERY well how... nicely... he treated her and her sisters back at the Orphanage. Well, she thinks that it's time she returned the "favor." She tells him to hold still, and she tells her Dragonite to use Hyper Beam... ON THE DOCTOR. Dragonite fires a Hyper Beam at the Doctor, making him burst through the wall. Laura's not going to like that... Saphira tells the "Doctor" that she thinks they've made a break-through this session. Literally. Just out of nowhere, Sirius tells his Seviper to use Poison Fang on Saphira! Seviper appears out of nowhere, and bites Saphira with Poison Fang, knocking her out. Sirius shows up, and says that this is a day of misery. He tells me to be glad that Saphira softened them up, otherwise he would have ripped Laura upstairs to pieces. Gee, I wonder what he means by that... However, he already promised that he will NOT leave empty-handed. So instead of taking any of the children or Laura, guess who he takes? Saphira. He walks up to Saphira, and taunts her unconscious body, saying that her family won't do everything to protect her, even though she does everything to protect them. Sirius looks forward to seeing me soon. This time, on THEIR territory. He and Seviper take Saphira, and leave.

I head upstairs to make sure everyone's alright, and Laura comes downstairs, wondering if everything's alright. She notices the wall, and she's upset that the room is ruined. She's surprised when she finds out that they took Saphira instead of the kids, and Charlotte comes out of hiding, saying that it's a BIG mistake on the bad guys' part. She says that Saphira will probably just destroy them from the inside-out. However, Laura doesn't know if they should just let them take her though, and Charlotte says that it's obviously a trap. She says that it would be safest to just let Saphira go and steer clear of them. She asks everyone if they're ready to go, which confuses Laura. However, Charlotte says that she said it was safest. They aren't safe; they're family, and that means that we're going to get Saphira back, and Laura KNOWS that Saphira would do the same for them. Laura finally agrees, but tells Charlotte to stay here. Charlotte is disappointed, but Laura tells her that they were after her and the other children, not Laura herself. And considering her status, it only makes sense that Laura should be the one to fix this... Charlotte is disappointed, and says that no one ever lets her have any fun. Laura remembers that it was about two months ago, those men in black started installing all of that metal into Tanzan Mountain. Now that she thinks about it, she realizes that the men in black are Team Meteor, which means that Tanzan Mountain is where they probably took Saphira... Laura then tells me that she's going to head down there now, and she would appreciate it if I would help her. Laura then leaves, and Charlotte tells me to slap a few Meteor grunts around for her. Shelly is surprised that Saphira was taken, and I head into the kitchen, where I find ANOTHER Charlotte, and ANOTHER Shelly. I head upstairs to make sure Anna and Noel are okay, and it turns out that they were eavesdropping on the conversation. Anna wishes me luck, and she says that Nostra says that I shouldn't catch Laura when she falls. How strange... I head into the rooms, and find another Noel, with Anna being invisible. Anyways... Time to head to Tanzan Mountain.

I head to Tanzan Mountain, and I can't find any way in. Looks like I'll have to find another entrance. I head through Chrysolia Forest, and eventually I find an entrance that was blocked by a tree. I enter Tanzan Mountain, and start finding a way to open the gates that block my path. Unfortunately, all I find is Mystic Water. I head back to Tanzan Mountain, and this time, I find Laura at the east gate. This is where she saw them before, but how do we get through the gate? Laura inspects the gate, and says that Team Meteor must have some way of opening it. She says that maybe there's a switch somewhere... She trips and falls on some rocks, which opens the gate. Laura's upset that she's all dirty, but at least the gate is open. She then heads deeper into the mountain, and I follow. I head deeper into the mountain, and I notice two grunts asleep, and Laura, who doesn't talk. I think that's a bug, but I'm not too sure.

It isn't very long before I finally discover Team Meteor's Base. I find a device that spins me around, making me battle a Meteor grunt. I head into a room where there's tiles that teleport me to another part of the room. I step on them until I can get to the machine. Once I get to the machine, I unlock the Entry B Gate. Eventually, I realize that I am teleported to a different room each time I step on the tiles, and find a way to unlock both gates. Finally, I get to the other machine, and unlock the Entry A Gate. I battle the last grunt at the main part of that section of the base, and then I spin counterclockwise so I can continue investigating Team Meteor's Base. I head upstairs, and find another spinning device. I battle the grunt, and head to the left wing, where I find Laura observing a broken cell. I guess Saphira managed to escape okay, because there's a broken cell door, and there's two unconscious Meteor grunts. Before I leave, I use the shiny ninja star (Or whatever it is), and I heal my Pokemon. I head back, and downward, where I find a Meteor Dame. I beat her, then I head upward to continue investigating. When I battle one of the grunts, he accidentally reveals that the bosses couldn't control the PULSE that is in this base.

What Pokemon are they using this time for their PULSE plans?

I head deeper into the base, finding some teleportation tiles, and battling grunts and dames. From what I've heard, the earthquakes haven't been coming from Team Meteor, and the PULSE project backfired this time. Eventually, I head back to the main area, beat the grunt, and head into the east wing. When I head into the east wing, I find Saphira, who wanted us to leave her here, because she can take care of herself. Since Laura came along, she put herself in danger, which means that Saphira has to help save the day. She tries to open the central gate, but then two Meteor grunts show up. I battle the two to try to buy Saphira some time to get the central gate open. I beat them, and as soon as I do, the Atrium Gate is disengaged. Saphira scares them off by threatening to burn them to a crisp if they don't run.

After they leave, me and Saphira head to the main section of Team Meteor's base, Atrium. I battle a few grunts and scientists, and beat them. One of the members I find is Simon, who is in no condition to fight. He tells me that this entire base, and force has been reduced to a pathetic drivel of workers, because of Saphira. She attacked them when they were crossing the lake. They each came on individual rafts. Pairs grouped up, partner with partner. Tara was with Simon, and Saphira shot them down from the sky. She swooped down from the sky, and started shooting them down, two by two. There wasn't anything they could do but sit there and take her attacks... Not only that... but Tara... Tara is dead. Saphira killed Tara, and four others too. Most of them were able to swim back to shore, but not Tara... He couldn't save her either, and that's twice now that he's failed. He vows revenge on Saphira, but until then, he wants me to leave him be. He won't even stop me, either. I leave him be, beat the rest of the grunts and scientists, and disengage the locks to the Project Room. Once the gates are unlocked, I then enter the Project Room.

When I enter the Project Room, I find Laura and Saphira confronting the Doctor and ZEL, who's trying to fix the PULSE, which has an Abra strapped to it. Saphira tells Sigmund that he's going to pay for everything he's done. Sigmund asks her what that includes, and asks if restraining the psychotic woman who attacked him (Saphira), and caring for those assigned to him by the city are crimes. Saphira asks him if pinning a child down and lighting her up is "caring" for her, and also asks him if HALF of the things he's done to her were "caring" for her. Saphira is enraged at what he's saying, and is practically YELLING at him! She tells him not to talk to her about the word "caring," because to her, he doesn't know the word. Sigmund warns her not to say such things if he were her. He then snaps, and states that he has devoted his LIFE to learning how to care for those around him, and declares that he will NOT be so disrespected by an unruly little girl. He then calms himself down by saying Lizzy to himself, and says that he mustn't become angry... I wonder who Lizzy is... Laura notices him talking to himself, and Sigmund denies that he's talking to himself, and calms down again.

Sirius enters the room, and asks Sigmund if there's anything wrong. He then notices us. However, he tells us to stand aside, because he says that there are more pressing concerns right now. I then get out of his way, as he then walks over to ZEL. He tells ZEL that he has just received a communication: Lin will be coming here shortly to observe their progress. Sigmund is surprised at the sound of the name Lin, and so is Saphira. Apparently, Lin sounds familiar to everyone. Sirius reveals that Lin is the true leader of Team Meteor, and says that even Solaris answers to her. He also says that is the only reason why the name Lin is familiar. Lumi is surprised at this sudden order, and says that Abra still won't listen to them. Laura asks them what they're doing to Abra with the PULSE, and Lumi says that they need to get into a specific place, but it's sealed tight. They figured maybe if they amplified Abra's power, and ask it nicely, it could teleport them into there... Zero says that unfortunately, Abra won't listen to a single one of their commands, and says that it's just been causing trouble constantly. Laura realizes that everything strange that's happening around Spinel Town has been because of Abra. Eve tells Laura that she is correct, and also states that unlike many of their previous operations, their objective was not to disturb the nearby areas. She states that any oddities or damage the town and surrounding area may have incurred have simply been a side-effect of Abra's unfocused power. Sirius tells ZEL that's enough, and tells ZEL to focus on getting Abra tamed, otherwise Lin is going to have all of their heads. Saphira interrupts, and says that we're still busting up this party, and tells them that they're not off the hook. Sirius notices Saphira, and tells her that she can be their test subject. He tells ZEL to warp Saphira away, and before Saphira can attack, she is teleported to another location. Laura is shocked, and asks where Saphira went. Sirius says goodbye to Saphira, and says that he will enjoy not meeting her again. He tells ZEL to teleport me and Laura out too. First, Laura vanishes. After that, so do I. Sirius is pleased, and asks ZEL where he teleported us. Unfortunately, Lumi has no idea where we went, and says that we could be anywhere. Sirius tells ZEL to work on it. He also says that they need to have Abra focused to perfection, and that Lin will be here any minute. He then leaves, and the screen fades to black.

I wake up in a cave-like area, and I'm near some acid. The earthquakes are much worse down here, but now that I know Team Meteor isn't the cause of it, it's time to investigate. I head into another part of the cave, and I find Laura unconscious. I wake her up, and the first thing she realizes is that her outfit is all dirty. She asks where we are, and she remarks that it smells awful down here. She notices the acid and the containers, and remembers seeing the same kind of containers in Team Meteor's Base. She then counts the containers, and is upset that there is no eighth one, because she really hates the number seven. She apologizes to me for her strange quirk, and tells me the truth.

Laura tells me that it really bothers her when there isn't an even number of something. She knows it's weird, but that's how she's always been. In particular, the number eight has always held special significance for her. To her, it's just relaxing to see something set up in eight parts, because it's a sort of perfect symmetry. She says that Charlotte likes to give her a hard time about it, and says that she'd be laughing at her now. She then tells me the reason why she hates the number seven. She was reminded by something that one of the Meteor Admins said... They said that "Lin was coming." Laura knew a girl named Lin once... back at the Orphanage. It was a couple years ago... She was a little girl, even younger than Anna... but... terrifying... Lin was sadistic... She took pleasure in finding out others' secrets and extorting them... The strangest thing about that is that it's just a little kid doing this. In Laura's case, whenever she had eight of something, Lin would always take one. For instance, Laura would often write and draw in her notebook, and she had differently colored pens. However, if she ever got eight pens, Lin would break one of them, and just walk away laughing... It seems childish, but in a place like the Orphanage, you don't get your own possessions very often, and Lin just had to ruin it. Laura was always left with seven, and something broken that couldn't be replaced... That's why she hates the number seven. She's not really sure what happened to Lin, however... The Doctor got really angry at Lin after she pulled a trick on him... She hooked him up to his own machine. That night, he took her upstairs, locked everyone else in their cells, and Lin was just gone after that... Some of the kids say that Lin escaped, and others say that the Doctor killed her... Nobody knows what happened. Laura is certain that there's no way that Lin could be associated with Team Meteor, because she would be way to young... However, even she is unsure how old Lin really is. She then tells me to help her find a way out of here, and apologizes for talking so much. She was thinking because all of this seems strange. She then says that if we were taken down here, then maybe Saphira is nearby. She then heads off to look for her, and so do I.

As the earthquakes get worse, I find a broken healing machine. However, it still works, and I get to heal my Pokemon. I find Laura deeper in the cave, and she tells me that the earthquakes are just like the ones that have been happening in Chrysolia. She says that the earthquakes are stronger in here though, so that means that we're near the source. She heads deeper into the cave, and I follow. I head through a long, narrow tunnel, and find Laura at a dead end because of a giant chasm. As we're talking, a voice calls out to us. Laura recognizes it, and finds Saphira. Saphira recognizes us, and tells us that she's stuck at the bottom of the chasm. Fortunately, the echo is enough for her to hear us. Laura asks her if she's okay, and Saphira says that she's not hurt, but doesn't see a way up. Another earthquake occurs, and Saphira is annoyed. Laura says that the earthquake seem to be getting bigger, and that whatever is causing them, must be around here. She tells Saphira that if we could find it, maybe we could help all of Chrysolia. Saphira tells us to see if we can find anything, and says that she'll keep looking for some way to climb up. Laura goes to find anything, and I follow her.

I head back down the tunnel, and this time a new tunnel has formed. I follow it, and I find Laura at another dead end. She notices that the passage wasn't there before either. Saphira asks us if we're making any progress up here, and Laura says that we are, but we're not sure how. She tells Saphira that we just turned around, and there was a new tunnel. Maybe something really big just dug through the stone.., Sapira says that whatever did that would have to be extremely strong... and large. Another earthquake occurs, and Saphira tells us that it may be nearby. She tells us to be on her guard, and she's going to keep moving. Laura tells her to be careful, and she tells me that we should get going too, so we can find a way down to meet Saphira. She heads back into the tunnel, and I do too.

I head back, and two new paths have been formed. One leads north, and the other leads south. I head south, and find Laura. She wonders how big the chasm is, and Saphira says that it's putrid, because there's nothing but acid down there. Laura remembers the acid, and Saphira tells us that the containers look like the ones from Team Meteor's Base, energy byproduct. Laura wonders how it could have gotten down there from the base, and Saphira is assuming the same way we did. However, it also means that we are not far from Team Meteor's Base. In fact, based on that and this stone, it looks like we're in the depths of Tanzan Mountain. Another earthquake occurs, and Saphira assumes that the wild Pokemon are probably upset by the sudden injection of the poison from the acid. Saphira says that whatever is causing those earthquakes must just be trying to retaliate Team Meteor for this toxicity. So it IS all Team Meteor's fault! Saphira tells us to keep moving, and says that there's got to be an exit somewhere. Laura heads back into the tunnel, and before I can follow, I hear a scream from Laura. Laura's in trouble! Saphira asks her if she's alright up here, and Laura isn't responding. Saphira then tells me to find Laura. I find a new tunnel, and follow it.

When I find the dead end, I find Laura unconscious. Saphira shouts, and asks me if I can still hear her. She asks how Laura is, and she says that THING is moving fast. She says that whatever it takes, we can't let Laura-- She then tells me that the thing is headed my way. Just then, a GIGANTIC STEELIX comes out from below, and roars. Saphira tells me to keep it steady, because we have to protect Laura. She says that the Giant Steelix is the thing that's responsible for the earthquakes. She says that if we take it down, it'll be a huge burden lifted. She tells me to do my best to subdue it, and says that she'll see if she can get into position. The Giant Steelix lunges forth at me, and the battle begins.

The Giant Steelix comes out, and it is level 75... LEVEL 75... I send out Gardevoir, and try to use Calm Mind, but even that doesn't do anything, and Gardevoir faints from two Stone Edges. Now I send out Hydra and decrease its attack stat. I switch out for Arc, who faints from Stone Edge. I send out Hydra, then Corey, who lowers Steelix' defense with Rock Smash. However, Steelix uses Earthquake, knocking Corey down. I send out Hydra, then Persian, who flinches Steelix a bit. Persian then faints, so I send out Hydra, then Charles, who burns Steelix down with a critical hit Flamethrower. I beat the Giant Steelix, and win the battle!

The Giant Steelix falls deep into the chasm, but then quickly rises back up, but with Saphira riding it! She tells me to grab Laura and hop on. Looks like we're going for a joy-ride. I grab Laura, and we escape the depths. Saphira then tells us the plan. Team Meteor still needs to be stopped, and Laura needs to be taken home. Laura says that she can take herself there, but Saphira will not take any risk of Laura getting hurt again. While she takes Laura home, I'll be dealing with Team Meteor and the PULSE-Abra. Once she takes Laura home, she'll be right behind me. She tells me to get in there, terminate that Abra, and get out of there ASAP. From the sound of it, their real leader is coming any time now, which will only bring trouble. She takes Laura home, and I head back inside Team Meteor's Base.

When I head back inside, I find that the Meteor grunts are all gone. I make my way through the teleportation maze, and head to Atrium, and then I head into the Project Room.

I head inside the Project Room, where I find the Doctor and ZEL again. Zero is yelling at Abra, and Lumi asks Abra politely to behave, only to get politely declined, as Sigmund puts it, by teleporting ZEL around in the same room. Zero is ticked, and is surprised I made it back. He says that Abra's really useless, and Sigmund says that it would be best to just terminate the project before Lin arrives, as it sounds like she has a rather critical nature. Eve agrees with the Doctor, saying that this level of uncontrolled power would be unacceptable to her. Lumi, on the other hand, doesn't want to hurt Abra after all that it's been through. Zero tells Lumi that they can't do anything at all if they can't even get close enough to deactivate the machine without Abra jumping them away. Abra then teleports ZEL because he said that, and Zero yells at Abra, saying that he doesn't need its sass. Eve asks me if I want to spare the people of Spinel Town the chaos caused by this untamed teleportational energy, and Zero is sarcastic about letting me stop Abra. He tells me to take Abra out, and says that it'll work out for all of us with how ANNOYING Abra is. This earns ZEL another dose of teleportation, but out of the room. ZEL shows up again, and Zero tells me to deal with Abra. He walks over to the PULSE, and says that they aren't going to stop me. They just want me to take down Abra, and we can put the chaos in Chrysolia to rest.

Well, if you say so... To be honest, this is actually quite amusing.

ZEL unleashes the annoying little Abra, who is LEVEL 100... WHY!?! I send out Gardevoir, and set up with Calm Mind. Unfortunately, Abra is faster, and unleashes Dark Pulse. I send out Persian, who faints from Hyper Beam. Which means, that I can set up with Hydra. Unfortunately, Abra fires another Hyper Beam, which knocks out Hydra. I send out Arc this time, and have him use Swagger. Arc then tries to attack with Crunch, but gets knocked out with another Hyper Beam. I send out Charles, who burns Abra with a critical hit Flamethrower. Luckily, Abra hits himself in confusion, and Charles gets to land another Flamethrower, but doesn't knock out Abra. Abra then hits himself, putting himself to rest.

Abra is gone, and that means that Chrysolia is saved. Sigmund is relieved, and asks Eve if the nearby regions will return to normal, or if the damage is permanent. Eve tells him that any objects that have been moved by Abra's energy previously will remain where they are... Which means that the damage is permanent. And further, there are likely some objects that will still move, already having been imbued with unstable psychic energy. However, no more instances of such things will be created, and slowly, Chrysolia will calm itself. Sirius enters the room, and tells Sigmund and ZEL that Lin has just arrived. He is surprised to see that I'm back, and Lumi tells him that I helped them subdue Abra. Sirius says that Lin can't know that I'm an enemy to them, because she'll be furious. Sirius and I know that neither of us don't like it, but he tells me that if I don't want to be torn to pieces on sight, I have to pretend I'm one of them. He pushes me back, and Lin enters the room. She asks Sirius if there is any progress, and Sirius tells her that they experimented with using the PULSE to amplify Abra's powers to teleport a party into the heart of the ruin... However, in the end, Abra's power could not be controlled, and the project was terminated. Lin is disappointed, and asks who's behind him. Sirius tries to tell her that there is no one, but corrects himself. He introduces me as a new recruit, and says that I have been helping them with the PULSE-Abra project. Lin tells Sirius that lying becomes him, and she says that she meant the other person. Sigmund steps forward, and apologizes for the tardy introduction. He introduces himself to her as Dr. Sigmund Connal, residential psychiatrist to Reborn City, and proud administrator of the city orphanage. Sirius tells Lin that Sigmund has been a great asset to them, and with his help, they have now obtained two of the four keys- Ruby and Amethyst. Lin remembers him as Doctor, and Sigmund asks her if they have somehow met before. Lin states that this chance meeting is impossible, and Sigmund obliges. Sirius reports to Lin that as for the other keys, Solaris has reported a lead on Sapphire, and Elias is currently tracking down Emerald. Lin is pleased, and an earthquake occurs. A grunt barges in, reporting to Sirius that a Giant Steelix has just breached the side of the base, and it's tearing it apart. Sirius is shocked, and another earthquake occurs. Lin asks ME if I happen to know anything about this.

"Size doesn't equate to strength. Stand aside; I'll show you the meaning of power."

She then leaves to deal with Steelix.

Meanwhile...

Saphira is communicating with Steelix, and asking it if it wants revenge on Team Meteor as much as she does. The Giant Steelix agrees, and that's what she thought. Team Meteor trashed Steelix' home, so now they're going to trash Team Meteor's Base. However, Lin flies in on a Hydreigon, and recognizes Saphira, who's confused on who Lin is. She asks Lin who she is, but Lin only replies that she's Saphira's end, which confuses Saphira even more. Lin asks Saphira if she really thinks she can protect her sisters by destroying Team Meteor, and Saphira asks Lin if she knows her. Lin tells her that her petty family bonds mean nothing, and Saphira gets mad. She says that if anything threatens her sisters, she'll tear it apart, because she does it out of loyalty, which she says that Lin probably never heard of. Lin says that loyalty and family are both meaningless, and says that nothing beats pure, unbridled power. She demonstrates this by ordering her Hydreigon to annihilate Saphira and Steelix. Saphira and Steelix get struck down, causing another earthquake in Tanzan Mountain.

Sirius tells me to leave immediately, and says that if Lin doesn't see me again, it's better for everyone involved. He tells me to get going, because this is my only chance. Lumi wishes me luck, while Zero tells him not to wish me luck. As for Sigmund, he's still thinking that Lin looks similar to someone he met years ago...

Maybe Lin IS the same child... The same, cold, sadistic, evil child...

I do what Sirius wants me to do, and I get out of Team Meteor's Base, and I head back to the Tanzan Cove. When I get back to the house, I find everyone at the dining table in the living room, and everyone's worried about Saphira, because she fell off of a Giant Steelix at the peak of Tanzan Mountain. Anna wants to take a ride on the Giant Steelix, but I think that's a bad idea... Oh, and also because of how Saphira fell. Noel bets that Saphira won't make it, and Anna scolds him. Charlotte bets that Saphira will probably send Dragonite out and fly away, but that won't work because Sirius clipped Saphira's wings. She says that people in her family DON'T go out easily, but that makes Shelly ask Charlotte what happened to their parents. Charlotte tries to say that nothing happened, and goes on a different subject of who the woman with the Hydreigon was. Anna says that she didn't see anyone, and Noel says that Hydreigon didn't appear on its own, as someone was riding it. Noel asks me if I have any idea, and I tell them that it was Lin. Charlotte is surprised, and even SHE thinks its familiar. Anna asks me if I got her Amethyst Pendant back, but unfortunately, I didn't. However, I tell her that Team Meteor is using it as a key. Shelly realizes what I'm talking about, and asks Anna where she said she got that Pendant from. Anna tells her that she's had it as long as she can remember, and she got it from her parents. Shelly tells us that she just remembered an old story she read...

In the story, it described an ancient city, built around the crash of a fallen star- a Meteor. The temple that housed the meteor was sealed by four crystal keys- Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Amethyst... But the city fell into ruin, and it was lost...

Shelly tells Anna that maybe the Amethyst Pendant is actually the Amethyst key to that ruin, and Noel and Charlotte say that maybe the ancient city became Reborn, and Shelly says that the ancient temple is just underneath Reborn City... Which is why Team Meteor blew up the Grand Stairway! When the city officials explored underneath the stairway, they found a huge cavern with a ruin at its base. Team Meteor found the lock, as I was there too, but now they need the keys. Anna says that Heather's Ruby Ring must be one of the keys, too, which leaves Emerald and Sapphire. Anna says that we have to stop Team Meteor from getting those other keys, because whatever they're trying to do down there, it can't be good. Charlotte says that the keys are embedded into jewelry. She asks Laura if she remembers the Sapphire Bracelet that their dad gave her as a present for her birthday one year. Laura remembers, and she forgot all about it. Charlotte asks where it is, and Laura says that she lost it after, when their mom and dad died... Laura says that it probably didn't survive the fire... But it did. Anna is shocked that there was a fire, and realizes that the fire is where Charlotte got the burn scars from. However, Charlotte denies this, and says that she doesn't have any burn scars. Anna says that they're right there, but Shelly doesn't see them. Anna says that she won't talk about them anymore, but still asks what fire. Laura reveals that when they were much younger, Charlotte accidentally burned the house down. However, before she could actually say that part, Charlotte gets mad, and leaves. Laura chases after her, and everyone's in an awkward position.

Anna breaks the ice a second later, and gets the idea that me and Noel should finish our battle from earlier. Noel obliges with that, and everyone heads outside. I heal my Pokemon, and then head outside too.

When I head outside, I find Shelly being the referee this time, and Anna and Nostra still rooting for me. I train my Pokemon, then talk to Noel, and take my place. Shelly explains the rules, and Noel talks to Nomos. After he talks to Nomos, Shelly declares that the battle will begin, and it does.

That little delay won't stop the inevitable, Noel. Time for me to win this battle.

Prodigy Noel sends out Cinccino, while I send out Corey. Cinccino attacks with Rock Blast, which doesn't hurt Corey much, and Corey uses Poison Jab, which I taught over Faint Attack. Cinccino's attacks don't hurt Corey, while Corey is healing himself with the rain. Corey strikes Cinccino with a one critical hit Poison Jab, and Cinccino faints. Noel sends out Porygon-Z, while I send out Gardevoir to prevent it from boosting its special attack stat with Download. Gardevoir builds up with Calm Mind, but Porygon-Z's Discharge paralyzes Gardevoir. Eventually, Gardevoir knocks out Porygon-Z with Psychic, and Noel sends out Swellow, who uses the Guts strategy. Gardevoir tries to attack Swellow, but gets knocked out by Swellow's U-Turn. Swellow goes back to Noel, and he sends out Girafarig, while I send out Arc. Arc knocks out Girafarig with Crunch, and Noel sends out Staraptor. Arc bites Staraptor with Ice Fang, but doesn't knock Staraptor down. Instead, Staraptor uses Close Combat on Arc, and knocks him out. I send out Hydra, and have him set up with Dragon Dance, while Staraptor keeps using Close Combat on Hydra. Staraptor uses U-Turn on Hydra, and Noel sends Swellow out again. Hydra strikes Swellow down with Ice Fang, knocking it out. Noel sends out Staraptor, who nearly knocks out Hydra with Brave Bird, but fails to, as Staraptor then gets knocked out from Hydra's Ice Fang. Noel sends out Clefable, who easily gets knocked out by Hydra's Aqua Tail. I thought he had more Pokemon, but I guess I beat his six Pokemon already, which means... I win the battle!

Anna is happy that I won, and Noel states that in accordance with official Reborn League policy, he presents to me the Standard Badge. He gives me the Standard Badge, which by having the Standard Badge, Pokemon up to level 60 obey. Additionally, I also receive TM10 Hidden Power. He explains what Hidden Power does, and just when that's it, Laura shows up, and asks if she's missed anything. Anna tells her that I just beat Noel for a badge, and Shelly asks Laura how Charlotte is doing. Laura says that Charlotte is fine, but she just wants some time to be alone right now. Anna asks what happened, and Laura tells the story of how their parents died...

It was a long time ago... When Charlotte was very young, there was an accident. Back then, they all lived together. Charlotte, Saphira, Laura, and their mom and dad. Charlotte would sneak out late every night, usually just to play in the garden or stare out at the lake. It was fine, because it was safe here. However... One night, Charlotte was playing with her Vulpix, and... there was a fire. Saphira woke Laura up and rushed her out of the house just in time, but... their parents didn't make it. Ever since then, it's just been Saphira looking out for them... Especially after the Doctor took them in... Saphira has kept them safe for years, at her own loss...

Laura hopes that Saphira is safe, because she doesn't know what she would do if Saphira died. Laura starts crying, and she apologizes. Anna walks up to Laura, and comforts her, saying that it's okay. She says that just because Laura's an adult, doesn't mean that she can't cry. Anna tells her that they should head inside, and also says that Nostra says that she'll feel better if she has a snack and sits down. They all head inside, and I follow.

I head inside, and talk to Noel, who asks me to speak with him in private. I follow him, and he tells me that he doesn't see the point in denying the obvious. He tells me that there is a very high chance that Saphira might not make it back alive, and says that we can't just sit around and wait for her. He tells me that there's no way that Anna will let him leave, and he says that I should head out and look for Saphira. He says that they were all watching her when she was on top of Tanzan Mountain when Lin appeared. He says that based on where Saphira and Steelix fell, it won't be far from Tanzan Mountain. A moment later, an explosion occurs. Anna wonders if the top of Tanzan Mountain exploded, and Shelly says that that's where Team Meteor's Base was. Noel says that I should hurry, and I leave.

I head back inside Tanzan Mountain, and I head to the Team Meteor Base entrance, but rocks are in the way. It seems that Team Meteor blew up their base so that no one could come back to it. I head to the left gate, and it's busted open. I follow the path, and find a cave. I enter it, and when I get close, another explosion occurs, and Saphira gets out of the newly formed cave. Saphira's alive! I'm not surprised she's still alive, because she will never go down without a fight. She admits that Lin caught her off guard, but she was surprised that Lin knew about her family. She says that she snuck back in, and terminated their base, which means that SHE blew up Team Meteor's Base. She says that she has a present for me, and she gives me the Ruby Ring and the Amethyst Pendant! She tells me that Team Meteor has been desperate to seize these objects, and says that one of them even belonged to Anna. Saphira was going to give it back to her, but that would just paint a target on her back again. As it is, Team Meteor already knows where they're being kept, and they're going to search the house regardless. Saphira wants me to take the two keys, and leave, while she and the others will relocate. She tells me that up north in the Carnelia Region, there are two cities- Labradorra and Calcenon. The gyms in those cities belong to Charlotte and her. She tells me that she'll take everyone up there, but it's best if I go separate. She says that I can defend myself against Team Meteor if they come after me for the keys. She tells me to be careful, and that we'll meet again. She leaves, and I follow her outside, where I find myself in a new land...

Team Meteor... And the Jewelry... It all makes sense! The Ruby Ring... The Sapphire Pendent... The Amethyst Pendant... And the Emerald Brooch... They are the four Crystal Keys to the gate!

Team Meteor is going after the keys individually, which is why they do their own operations, instead of all of them at one location.

Sigmund and Sirius retrieved the Ruby and Amethyst Keys, but Saphira got them back for me.

Solaris has a lead on the Sapphire Key, which explains why he was drawn to the Sapphire Bracelet... But is Solaris even considered a Leader of Team Meteor, or is he just like Sirius, Sigmund, ZEL, and his own son Taka? Perhaps he is the Vice Leader...

Elias is tracking down the Emerald Key. Though who is Elias? The first two letters seem awfully familiar though... El...

And I finally realize why Team Meteor is called Team Meteor. Team Meteor is based off of the Meteor that struck the ancient city beneath Reborn, and Team Meteor is also looking for the mysterious power... If Team Meteor were to get their hands on this power... Who knows what would happen? And I finally know that the four objects are actually keys to that gate beneath the Grand Stairway! All of this adds up. However, there are still many more mysteries to be solved!
