Question about a certain Gen 7 Pokemon

So this occurred to me while doing the Type Null quest on my other file. Do you need to give shiny versions of those Pokemon to get a shiny Null?

 

I presume the answer is no but figured it was worth asking.

No, it's generated as a shiny the same way as every other pokemon (I SR'ed for one)

No, I gave it normal pokémon and on my second attempt of capturing it I managed to get a shiny. (I wasn't even trying to get a shiny so I consider myself lucky).
