Monochrome_Complex Posted October 4, 2017 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Not so much that I love it, but This guy is pretty underrated and was quite useful during my bW2 water monorun. Unova has a pretty limited selection of water types during the main game and Basculin is probably among your strongest physical one until post game(with azumarill being the only one to outclass it), due to adaptability . Unlike azumarill it has fairly decent speed of 98 so it won't get outsped quite as much(which I found to be a major weakness with azumarill) and in fact I ended up replacing samurott with it since he hit harder and was faster. However what really makes this guy fun is final gambit, which is quite useful in earlier PWT rounds or for softening up tougher opponents like kyreum. I never tried out the other two abilities, but if you want a ahrd hitting physical water type for Unova's main game, Basculin is totally worth considering.
