Catching Beldum

Alright, I've found my way to the location of Beldum and I've been trying to catch him for the last hour or so. Nothing I do seems to help. Even when he is on 1hp, I sometimes only get one wiggle. I've tried paralysing him, but it doesn't help either. Does he have an incredibly low catch rate by any chance? Is there anyone who has any tips for me?

 

I don't really feel like going through that cycle again of getting Tauros etc, but if it's my only choice, I'll have to do it. Oh and also, I only have poke/great/ultraballs, if that makes a huge difference.

sleep improves your chances among all the status conditions

and be careful about keeping it at 1 hp its, take down is annoying so maybe take a ghost type to counter that

and try getting dusk balls and ultras and timers

they will definitely help

yeah it has the same catch rate as legendary, you should save right in front of it.

Yes, I think that might be a good idea. I guess I'll just have to redo the Tauras thing then.

I have false swipe, so I'll definitely make good use of that. And I'll do some shopping for dusk balls and timers. I might even try quicks

if your plan is to bring ghost type then be careful of struggle

I just used spore from my Amoonguss to make him sleep, threw 1 Ultra ball and caught him instantly. Is the catchrate just really bad for others, or am I just lucky?

Same thing goes with a lot of other pokemons as well btw. When I find one in the wild, I almost always can catch it with 1 ultra ball, usually without bringing their hp down. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it sure applies to most of my catches. I was wondering if my game may be bugged with this, because it always is either 3 wiggles and catch, or 3 wiggles and not.

dont worry about it  happens to me too

most of my catches require 1 (max 2 ultra balls) unless its like lvl 65+

but yes catch rate is higher in reborn 

but there are times my luck abandons me

like when i tried catching beldum..man that took ages for me too

Yeah I usually have the same. Most of the times I don't even have to bring their hp down at all. With Beldum however...

At exactly 1 HP there's around 4% chance to catch it with a Great ball. Don't give up, you'll get it eventually, it may take some time however.

 

A good way to prevent it from KO'ing itself with struggle, get a Ghost Pokémon, so that struggle always fails.
