You see, reptiles and amphibians have several key differences that separate them, most notably being their eggs. A reptile, like a lizard snake or turtle, has a hard shelled egg, much like a birds egg. An amphibian on the other hand, has a soft shelled egg which can lose water in hotter environments and is usually placed in water in order to keep it alive.
