Commander Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I think Slaking would fit both the six Pokemon quota as well as only being able to use five. (I figure Slaking would be hella disobedient and lazy making him very hard to use and train). Speaking of teams, I already know Pichu and Petilil are going to be the final two members without question. The four reserves have a little special theme going on and it's better suited for year 2.

Commander Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It may sound a little odd, but since I already have everything Lunatone can use (outside of a handful of Status Moves) I decided to drop him and bring back one of the backup lists. Yes folk, Henry's going to be getting himself a Hitmontop Machamp. It may screw with the theme a little bit, but he suits my overall team a bit better.

Sutoratosu Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Ya know what, screw it, I'm just gonna go ahead and have him have a burning outright hate for Interpol too at this point... utterly Disgusted with both sides of the law and order spectrum... the lunatics and the people who just stood by and let the lunatics do what they wanted, cause it's only fair if both parties are thought equally poorly of in that case, right? the lunatics can't be hated if while at the same time, the guys who did nothing are more or less exonerated in comparison. or maybe I'll have him not hate Interpol in and of itself, but rather hate their policies and the things they do... or rather, that they don't do. Yeah, I think I'll go with that.

Happens to me all the time but the other way around. So far I've 'updated' the OOC at least 3-4 times instead of the IC. What, are we coming up with main teams of six now? I was just gonna have Mareek more or less just always carry around the "Senior" members of the team (Scizor, Marowak, Porygon-Z, Xatu) and then swap out the last two slots with whoever's needed. I was just planning those Evan would get in the first year IF he doesn't keep Skarmory. If he does the Yanmega is probably out.

I really can't give advice on how to develop characters because sometimes it just happens naturally (seriously, I'm like never out of ideas. Even when I'm out of ideas I still have ideas). As for motivation, sometimes you gotta go through the cringeworthy stuff to move towards the really good ideas.

Honestly though, I'm not sure how Henry would react to a dancing Ludicolo (he certainly wouldn't be dancing that's for sure).
Sutoratosu Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I've been thinking for a bit, and I think I might swap out Typhlosion and Feraligator on the team for Magmorator and Empoleon. Magmorator still allows me to do the majority of the things I could with typhlosion and a bit more, plus it helps establish a bit larger feeling of subtle rivalry with a certain someone who's lurking around.... and Empoleon because I've always found those wings rather badass in their own special way and see that no one here has given Emperor Bird much love... (That's a lie, I just like being able to cut shit) in that case, team is looking like Scizor Porygon Z Marowak Xatu Magmorator Meganium Hmm... or maybe I'll save the Xatu for year two and go with Empoleon as his next obtainable... yeah, might do that, it'll probably work out better. so... Well it's always nice to have a plan. I'm just making these changes and plotting things out now so that I can have some actual order and not have to wing it all on a whim when it gets to certain points. I tried winging it at first with the whole team thing, just deciding on members on the fly, got sick of it real quick, so now I just set my sights to the future and make changes to the plan as I deem appropriate. It's better to have a malleable skeleton than a set in stone on the fly draft-up, IMO Some people keep their minds on the future and try to strategize about present actions to best serve them later on via the results. others prefer to just focus on the here and now, and honestly the only thing anyone about it can do is just respect that fact.

Roy the boisterous Conkeldurr or Lpunny the glamourous bunny? A lo of my team is made of physical attackers without much support, so I was thinking of replacing conkeldurr the bruiser with Lopunny because A: Lopunny is more contest oriented and supporive and B: covers the same typing if one day I choose to mega evo it. In the end, both mons personalities will be interesting to see with Claude I feel but, Claude would so very much ove Lopunny. It's a freaking bunny. Note: If lopunny was brought in i'd probs also replace Staraptor with crobat because Crobat can be more supportive and can run special atacks which I also really need.
