  1. I think you just need strength + lava drift + access to the main area of the game (which I think is locked behind fly?). Its in the mountain in Sheridan, you need a bunch of shards. Of course, it may have been moved in the recent version, but I don't think it was?

it looks good wait till 13 badge or somewhere around half of your team will get crests if you know what that is .but where do you get the focus sash

The only way to get Focus Sash legitimately is before the

    Spoiler

Second Angel of Death Gard fight. Its in the underground cult base place, just on the ground.

You can't get one before Kyogre (I think).

  3. Link heart is after 5th gym I think, at the pier from the start of the game. You can buy it for 10k. Prism scale requires you to get a key item in the cave before the resort town (you need blast powder), then you trade it to a guy after the Angie fight (7th gym) for the Prism scale, he is in one of the houses in the same town as Angie.

  4. I feel like it could be stronger. RNG shenanigans are pretty good (I use them all the time, to win hard battles in both of my Set Mode, no bag items runs), but not sure that and the speed is enough really. There are just better mons that let you cheese with RNG. Maybe increase its special attack also?

Another option would be to have it start the battle with one quiver dance up. I would say two, but then I realized that it would have like 600 special attack and 458 speed (assuming Max IV/EV and LV 100) which would be kind of ridiculous, but one should be fine.

  5. Gonna butcher all the Pokemon names, but here I go...

Mamoswine is probably a good choice since ice is neutral against it. If Golem has sturdy then it could be useful to get off a rock slide or explosion maybe, you could explode while Golurk is out since it would be immune. Aloan Dugtrio is steel, which gives you a type advantage vs her. Other than that bring fast mons, with rock slide, preferably trained in speed EV, and try to outspeed her, if they have rock slide you can just get lucky with flinches and win eventually.

Edit: melting the field is not helpful, she will just restore it with one use of Cold Truths, so don't even bother. Flygon is probably bad here, since it will just get imploded instantly, I would only bring mons that are neutral to ice.

  6. Have you tired switching up your team and adding new mons? This is often required, using the same six mons all the time is not advisable. This fight is also totally doable without EV/IV training of any kind, I also did it without items and on Set Mode, so it is very possible. Try switching up your team and going out and catching new mons, you can actually leave the area if I am not mistaken.

I would recommend doing at the very least EV training (in stats that make sense), since it helps a lot. It is also available from the start of the game now in the Grand Hall, if I am not mistaken, so you can do it pretty quickly and easily (literally a few minutes per mon). Just make sure you know what you are doing and train stats that actually make sense.

Natures and IVs also help quite a bit, but that requires a large time investment and a ditto (or cheating).

Debug mode is a method of cheating that is available to save you a lot of time, since it lets you do things like change your IV/EV/Nature. If you decide to use it, I would WAIT on changing IV/Nature until after the 8th gym, since that is when all the tools you need for breeding become available (specifically ditto + destiny knot), but whether you wait or not is ultimately up to you. I have used it in the past in both my runs of the game and it saves me hours of time breeding new mons, since I can just skip that with it.

Of course, if you consider that too dirty, then you would have to do breeding legit, but you can still do EV training easily, and can soft reset (save the game before getting the mon, then reload, this wont work for eggs) or just catch more of that mon when applicable, until you get a mon with decent IV/Nature. This way you can at least have some of the IVs on your mon.

  7. Why is lucky egg even on the pickup table? Audino trainers are everywhere, so it is kind of odd that it is only available from a lv 80+ pickup... Like it just makes grinding faster, which is already an non-issue, seems like a more useful item could be here tbh, and the lucky egg could just be given to you, but maybe that is just me.

I am definitely considering getting a lefties for my two saves, since that should be pretty OP, would be nice on my tanky mons.

Well I will try to use every Mon :) So not a special team right now,

Thanks. I will do that with Swampert :) Thanks for tip.

Yeah I think Dumbo will be better in later game. But for now he is just not enough. I mean you can't get move Tutor on Sheridan at the moment.  and his only good mmove for now would be EQ.

I might have been mistaken about the Swampert Earthquake level FYI. I learned that some mons like Quagsire use gen 8 move sets, so Swampert might also. Thought, maybe Quagsire uses gen 8 movesets since they were in Sword/Shield, but Swampert wasn't, and will use gen 7? I know for a fact, that some mons do use Gen 7 move sets, like Arcannine for example. Not realty sure anymore, so I would save before hand just in case, if it uses gen 8 move sets, then you will need the move relaerner for earthquake instead.

I do not disagree, but Quagsire does get recover, and it is useful for chipping down things

Really? Serebii says he does not by lv up. Does the special shadow one get it or something?

    Quag2.png

Edit: It can be gotten as an egg move. So technically yes it does get it.

  10. 24 minutes ago, Z.. said:

    My quagsire learned it

It literally can't. Unless the special shadow one gets it or something

EDIT: Neverminded, just tested it and mine learned it too, they must have added Gen 8 move sets to all mons, did not realize that. I seem to recall that some of my mons still used Gen 7 move sets, but guess I am just mistaken?

Sill toxic is only so useful, unless you are willing to spam potions it will only do so much for you, and if you ban potions like I do, then it is pretty useless without something like recover/rest. That being said it is OP in some fights, like Angel of Death for example. I still stand by it being worse than Swampert in most cases.

  11. Seems like a decent team. But out of curiosity why use Quagsire over Swampert? Like I love Quagsire, but he is just worse than Swampert in pretty much everyway. I guess Swampert wont get Earthquake until 51, but that doesn't really matter for this next gym anyway (and after the gym you can raise him to 50, then rare candy him to 51 past the lv cap, then back down to 50 after he learns EQ).

Next gym might be tricky cause of the rain/water types, but you have a lot of rock slide users, so getting lucky with flinches is certainly possible.

  12. Use a strong and fast flying type, crobat worked really well for me, since it has brave bird. Fire types are ineffective cause of the rain. Rock types with rock slide also work well. He has counters to both types, so be careful! Try to stop him from setting up the web if possible, but this can be pretty difficult.

Also, EV train your mons if you have not done so yet. You can reset your EVs with berries from the lost camp.

That is really the most tips I can give without seeing your team/backup team.

  13. Yeah unfortunately this is a soft lock that doesn't work. You need to load a different save and pick the escape option instead. Unfortunately, this means you need to get those ten points in another way, but it is pretty easy to tank your relationship with another (two) of the main characters to facilitate this.

  14. Well you listed Vital Throw twice, which I assume was a mistake.

Also this really depends on the Pokemon. But, in a vacuum, smelling salts is better. Vital throw is really bad since it makes you go last always, which is absolutely terrible. It also only has 70 power, sure smelling salts only has 60, but it CAN go first, while vital throw cannot. So I would cut vital throw and never look back.

  15. No promises, I might be misremembering. But I think you interact with the painting in that room. And then you do the puzzle to get the mon? Maybe you have to talk to the maid who told you about the secret again after.

Not really sure, I did this like a few months ago... but that should be worth a try.

Edit: Okay I checked the V13 guide, and I think you might have the wrong room? The guide says this

Talk to Venam by Katsu’s house, then return to the mansion. Beat the first maid, then beat the second sitting on the bench. Next to her you can get a hidden Silk Scarf! Interact with the statues in the four rooms up and down from the garden: top left facing right, top right facing down, bottom right facing left, bottom left facing up. Head upstairs and enter the newly opened door. Grab the Indeedee here!

Are you in the correct room? The guide makes it seem like it is kinda just sitting there. I think the painting I mentioned above is for something else.

Alright thank you, gonna try it then.

    Thank you too.

I've finished the game and I'm kinda bored now so I'm gonna do a dark/ghost run and I heard there was a bad ending too so I thought of trying to be a total jerk to everyone in my new run.

You need to do a bit more than that to get the bad/evil ending (well not an ending but it locks you into that path). Check this guide, under "Bad Ending Calc". You have to make certain bad decisions also.

Besides the different ending what does relationship points do? Like does it change some events or dialogues with other characters? I'm thinking of doing a new run while being a total jerk to everyone that's why I ask

Yeah It changes certain scenes. It probably is not really worth doing a new game for it tbh since they are pretty few and far between, at least, I did not see that many in my run of it. OF COURSE, if you want to get the bad/evil ending then it would be worth a run of it. Thought, that route is not really very different yet, but in the future it will "probably" be.

    Thanks for all the advice!

I did end up evolving my golbat and the poison did the trick. Also managed to get a confuse ray off so that was helpful. The fight afterwards was easy, it was just getting to it that was hard.
Also realizing now that it probably would be a good idea to grind at least speed EVs off of wild mons so I'll probably end up doing that. It's a shame that the EV training rooms are locked until later on, I despise grinding.

If you're wondering, it's because V13 is completely different from V12. The Geara fight has been completely reworked, and now you have to do a raid battle against giratina before you fight Geara. The reason giratina looks weird is because I unluckily (or luckily? idk) encountered a shiny one.

Once again, thank you all for the helpful advice. Have a good Thanksgiving (if you're American lol)!

I think they (the EV rooms) are available right away if you update the game. You would need to grind for the cards still. But yeah, getting speed EV's early is really important. You will be bale to get the resetting berries soon also, so you can EV train your team properly. It is very helpful and definitely something you want to do in a mono-type run.

  19. I think you might want a Crobat for this. I checked with the showdown calculator, and even if the Giratina is max Speed EV + IV + Speed boosting nature, and even if YOU have 0 speed IVs (which is very unlikely, but I am accounting for the worst case scenario here) (but have 252 speed EVs and do NOT have a speed lowering nature) you will still be able to outspeed it (assuming the Giratina has the same base stats as a normal one and is actually lv 35, if it is higher level, then you would need a speed boosting nature and or more than 0 in your speed IV). But a Golbat will be slower, and will get outsped. If your Golbat already outspeeds the Giratina then just ignore this part...

If you can outspeed it and try to make something work with that, Maybe try for a lucky poison with poison fang, since poison does work against them and does damage shields, also poison fang badly poisons, so it will actually die pretty fast.

If you allow yourself to use items, then you can just try and spam healing items/revives while it dies to poison. If you ban items, then you are likely going to need to find the tankyist flying type you can, catch 5 of them, and train them all in special defense, and hp. Then just try to have them hold out against the giratina, until it dies from poison. Of course, having 5 of one mon might make it hard to beat Geara...

Oh, no. I just have a mod installed that makes that happen.

I am gonna be real honest, I looked at this post a few days ago, and I did not notice that at all. I was just like, yeah dude has a Weavile, that checks out. And it didn't register to me at all that something was wrong with that picture lol.
