  1. What a cool idea!

I would get your Growlithe going, Intimidate Arcanine is very strong throughout Reborn.

I don't feel like Sharpedo does a whole lot until you get TM Protect and you're able to actually make use of Speed Boost, Reborn is too aggressive otherwise.

Medicham is available at Apophyll Beach, with Huge Power, it was a very strong pokemon for me during my Psychic mono run, so consider that.

Joltik into Galvantula could come handy with Sticky Web, speed control is always a good thing.

Typhlosion, get Cyndaquill from 7th street. Eruption will carry you a long way. He will single-handedly take down Charlotte if you max Speed and Sp.A and give him Timid, because of the field effect you will destroy, even more so if you pair it with Sunny Day Ninetails, who is also destructive on it's own.

    Loads of cool options.

  2. I'm mostly surprised you got good trades still, lol. Last time I tried I got a bunch of Kricketots named "LOLOLOL" and stuff. I was about to throw some bred shinies in, but that threw me off the idea.

The wonderful thing here is that it's your game. Play it however you want, as long as you're enjoying it, having fun, then that's awesome. Also, if I remember there's a challenge runs centered around Wonder Trading. The idea sounds pretty cool, to be honest.

Having done a number of playthroughs, challenge runs and mono runs I'm currently running through it using a team of 6 of my all-time favourites.

Have fun with the game :)

This tells us near enough nothing, we dont know their abilties except Greninja, we dont know their natures, their moves, if they are ev trained or not, held items if any or their levels

He's at Kiki. There's next to nothing available to him in the game; he has no control over natures, no move tutors nor relearner; no access to an abundance of ability capsules, barely any TMs and I think fair to assume they're around level cap..

The biggest factor this early in the game is the types and abilities of the mons in your team..

Anyways, there's another thread talking about Kiki with some good advice.

Ghost types can and will win you the gym easily if you play it right.

Flying types like Emolga and Fearow can do some really good work for you, too. Emolga has access to Acrobatics already, a very strong move this early in the game where items are of less importance. Talonflame is available, too. And very strong. Gives you a Fire type advantage over Kiki's Lucario and iirc, Talonflame also has access to Tailwind at that point, which is a wonderful setup to gain speed control.

WIth your current team the fight should be very doable..

  4. Since Kiki uses a Normal Gem to activate HItmonlee's Unburden, you can simply get any Ghost-type Mon and swap it in against Hitmonlee and you will have completely countered her strategy with that mon. Sandygast is found on the beach. Drifloon is next to Shade's gym (on a windy day/night), Frillish in one of the eggs, Shuppet, Nincada if I remember is available too.

Emolga is also available to you, who is strong against Kiki. Growlithe, too.

You can fish up a Grimer and train it into Muk. With a MInimize move-set is a force to be reckoned with, too. (Muk is a little bit of a favourite of mine)

Nidoran M is there, too, in the arcade.

Dugtrio, Sandslash are also very good mons available to you in the cave under the gate.

The game really isn't that hard, especially the early game, you just need to not use mons that are weak towards whichever gym you're fighting - or get a little bit creative my friend!

    Good luck :)!

  5. Add in Protect on Blaziken. I would cut Bulk Up personally.

Start off with Protect to gain speed boost for free.

Would also suggest Stealth Rocks on Swampert instead of Surf. ANd max HP/Def EVs instead of Atk. He has great base stats, so utilize his defense and base attack and he'll be far more useful for you.

Last gym ins Dragon, there's definitely a Dragonite in there so Stealth Rock will be useful. Also, Whimsicott is incredible. Prankster and give it Tailwind, perhaps a terrain move and you have an amazing utility mon in your team.

Sylveon, too. Screens, Wish, strong offense in Hyper Voice. Very solid for the last gym.

If you decide to go with Discharge, try to pair your Pikachu/Raichu with a Ground-type or a Pokémon with Volt Absorb like Lanturn to avoid hitting your partner Pokémon. Also, TM Thunderbolt is available in the current version, but it's hidden behind a very frustrating puzzle in the late part of the game. So if you decide you prefer Thunderbolt over Discharge, there's an option to change it later on.

Isn't it available after Hardy? At that point it's not going to matter much.

But the Move Tutor is always there.

So I would say plan ahead if you know what's coming.

  7. Silvally isn't that bad at all. Keep changing discs to utilize it's flexibility. Also Multi-Attack does fine damage on it's own..

It's a great Pivot and utility pokemon. Parting Shot, Roar, Toxic, Defog.

Just gotta get creative and know how to use it.

I honestly find Roserade a let-down. Without Sludge Bomb you're not left with much outside of Hidden Power and your standard STAB attack. So unless you have bred HP: FIre/Ice then.. meh.

Ampharos is pretty strong early in the playthrough but falls off later in my opinion.

Utility Mons don't really fall off, they always have a use. Especially one that can change their Type to match whatever gym you're going into.

    Just my opinion!

  8. Teach your Typhlosion Eruption and you can literally sweep everything with just that.

I'm about to finish a my Fire-type mono run and Typhlosion swept her whole team on it's own. Eruption on Super Heated field is kind of dumb.

Just max Speed and Sp.A EVs, get it Timid nature to make sure you outspeed her team and you're set. You can also just do Modest nature and set up a Tailwind on turn 1, then swap in your Typhlosion and start sweeping.

  9. I would recommend bringing a bunch of healing and revival items though for later in that part of the game.

First part you can get through unharmed, but I still haven't found a way with the 2nd/3rd part (if I remember). So bring a bunch of items to get your team healthy right before the coming fight.

  10. I have a perfect IV shiny Larvitar laying around if you want it. Can also give it any nature you want.

If not, like the other guy said, the 2nd one is the best one. Has better SpDef and Def stats, too. Which are important still on Ttar.

    Im in  U.S. central timezone

Not on the reborn discord, though i do have the program and will look into joining the channel

I was thinking if you gave your Discord ID it's easier to set up battles through discord messages.

But there is an online play channel on their Discord where you some times can find battles.

When I tried last time I couldn't get there without loosing the Rage powder over that shaky rock, is there another way?

You have to surf around inside the mountain so you come out at the big waterfall near Amaria's house.

So you need to have created the shortcut into the mountain with the crustles.

both only learn it from the move tutor and/or breeding

also I think you need Rock Climb to get Salandit, so it's not available that early.

But you could catch Bronzong on Route 3 with Heatproof and Rain Dance, or a Mienfoo for Wide Guard, so those are possible either way

You just need to get rid of the Crustle blocking the cave when you get to the bottom to get Salandit. Nothing else is needed. But if it needs the tutor  it doesn't matter anyways.

I keep reading around the forums that there's a chance the Vulpix you get traded has Heat Wave on it. Never tried it, though.

  14. 26 minutes ago, Edo said:

Yeah you're right, that strategy is pretty neat as well.
But is it possible to catch a mon that learns those moves when you're stuck at the circus? Also not sure if Wide Guard would be obtainable at that point, and if you skipped the gang quest Rain dance isn't available, either.
From those, Trick Room might be the only consistently available strat for everyone.

If you got a Stunfisk I think you could trade your way to a Vulpix with Heat Wave? I'm not sure, though.

I forget if Salazzle learns Heat Wave on it's own, or is it just Flamethrower?

Other than that I can't recall other Fire types available at that point.

  15. Are your Mons EV trained at all?

Like others have said, changing the field effect helps a lot.

Your Alakazam should have access to Psychic Terrain if I recall. Should also be faster than both her leads if you have EV trained it.

    What are your move sets?

Moves like Fake Out are really strong in double battles, her team is quite frail so Fake Out gives you an opportunity to clear out her faster Mons if you have a strong rock or ground move. I.e starting Fake Out user + Earthquake/Rock Slide user.. you get the point.

Using status moves like Paralyzing a weaker mon in Doubles while focusing on the other helps. Setting up Screens will help out a lot, too.

thanks and where can i get the wobbuffett?

    Iolia Valley.

Although I just realized you're still locked out of all that.

I could trade you the Wobbuffett I used for my Psychic run, if you want.
