  1. Recently my appreciation for stally gameplay has increased, as opposed to the unga bunga-style I've employed for a while. Really creative challenge, IMO - looking forward to seeing the rest of it completed! And I also tend to struggle with Florinia... was definitely where I was stuck the longest (so far, only 13 gyms in) in my Monofairy run, even on normal Reborn.
  2. If you find that running the game on a single core works well for you and would like to create a shortcut, here's how you can make a batch file to launch the game using only one core. Create a text file (with like, Notepad) and write this: So in my case it looks like this: The first line browses to the directory of the game file, and the second line, "start /affinity 1 Game.exe", will launch Game.exe to run using only Core 0. Save the file as a .bat, and that's it. Double click to run. I made this in my Reborn folder. Now, you can't pin .bat files to the task bar (where I like to keep my Reborn shortcut) but there's an easy workaround if you want to do that. Create a new shortcut (I also made this in my Reborn folder), and in the target location write: cmd /c "path to batch file" So mine looks like this: Name it and change the icon to match Reborn's icon so it looks pretty and voilà. You can pin this shortcut to your taskbar or start or wherever you have you current Reborn shortcut. Hopefully this was followable.
  3. Slight correction, but I believe Fire type attacks gain Dragon typing rather than being converted, meaning they deal both Fire and Dragon type damage. Like how Flying Press is both Flying/Fighting. But your point still stands - since they also deal Dragon type damage, Fairy types are immune. However, this means Fire type moves are still effective against Scizor for example, albeit only 2x effective rather than 4x since Steel types resist Dragon (2 x 2 x 0.5).
  4. Filled it out, good luck with the app. I agree with Starry Knight that a sometimes button or similar would've been useful on some questions.
  5. Hmm, I can't really provide any insight as to what might cause this error but I tried editing the Tauros sprite myself and had no issues with it. Then I tried copying your sprites into my image, and it worked fine: My character uses the pkmn_tauros3.png file, so it could maybe just be broken with the 5 one? Maybe you've already fixed it, but if not you can try my image; I've attached the one I used successfully, renamed to suit your character, so give that a shot and see if it works. Otherwise there's probably something other than the image itself causing the error, unfortunately.
  6. If you're wondering about trading for evolution, there's a new evolutionary stone called the Link Stone that will become available a little bit into the storyline.
  7. Ah, yeah, I can imagine some types like Dragon needs the Mystery Egg. Cause you only have Noibat at that point, right? Dragon run seems pretty crazy. Cool strat with Power Trip setup Empoleon! Didn't even know it got that move through Krookodile. I didn't breed Agility or anything onto mine, partly because I didn't feel like getting the appropriate breeding partner and grind a new one up the levels and partly because I was never really forced to. The only thing I bred was Counter onto an Alolan Sandshrew to beat Solaris Garchomp on Pyrous Mountain, as I really couldn't work out another strategy that would work. I guess not having to "resort" to breeding egg moves onto Pokémon might speak to the difficulty (or lack thereof) of the run, in a sense. I also sort of prefer when possible to fight without setups but I do recognize that support + setup is usually the best strategy and I did do it in a few fights. Slush Rush A-Sandslash saved me a few times, I remember.
  8. Are you hacking in a Drilbur and/or Pawniard when you get to the Mystery Egg? Since you mentioned getting Gastly from it. In that case, yeah, I can imageine a Steel run becoming sort of a joke... But that seems a bit counter-intuitive to the challenge. If you refrain from getting Excadrill until it's naturally available post-restoration the difficulty is fine IMO; not super hard but not a breeze either. But I'm no God - maybe I approached things incorrectly in my run.
  9. I've just recently finished a Steel Monotype run (on set with no items in battle) and it was really fun in my opinion! Definitely recommend it. I chose steel because it's one of my favourite types, and Mawile is like my favourite Pokemon (even though I didn't get to use its Mega). There's quite a steady progression of Pokémon available to you, but most of the early ones are quite weak and forces you to use. Wormadam is really strong early thanks to Quiver Dance, especially with a beneficial Hidden Power type. By the end you can have some real monsters on your team, though. Like Excadrill, Lucario, Aegislash, Magnezone, etc. If you're gonna do a Steel run and need any advice, don't hesitate to ask. I've recorded (almost) all of my boss battles if you'd like to see them. My biggest struggle early game was, surprisingly, Shade and a couple of Fern fights. Later on Charlotte, Terra, and Amaria posed a lot of trouble for me personally.
  10. A third option: Restore a save file from before you entered Devon and stock up on supplies, and/or catch some Pokémon that could help. In case you don't know how to find your saved files: You should be able to find backup of save files in a folder called Pokemon Reborn in your Saved Games directory. To switch to another, simply rename Game.rxdata to something else, and rename the savefile you wish to resume playing from to Game.rxdata
  11. They're in the section to the left where you need flash to see properly. If you haven't been there, and a wall is blocking is off, go past the place where the train started in the railroad puzzle and check the walls.
  12. I've never really struggled with Terra in my runs, but a lot of people seem to. Titania is up there for me as well, though. Cool challenge, OP! I'm looking through threads trying to find some interesting spin on the game. Might go for a monotype, but something like this or something else more 'unique' seems cool.
