But increasing Spd too much would reduce the PULSE to "undefeatable unless taking it by absolute means" like it was a puzzle (Destiny Bond, Pranksters, Perish Song...)

And for that reason I really doubt Arceus' base speed will be increased. 120 is already really fast, especially since we can't use a choice scarf yet and don't have access to legendaries besides Naganadel and Phione. (The latter of which wouldn't outspeed it)

You can bet that it'll have 252 Speed EVs and 31 Speed IVs, possibly a +speed nature.

I'd say that most players won't have anything on their team that can outspeed even base Arceus.

If pulse Arceus were to gain just 10 base speed then there'd only be 6 megas and 3 normal Pokémon left that could outspeed it. (Not counting legendaries, Ash-Greninja and speed-ties)

So, to put it simply: Unless Arceus doesn't get an offensive boost, I highly doubt it'll not have its base speed lowered.

  2. Well then, I guess I'll be translating the game into German...

Thanks for making translating the game in general as well as in an unfinished state (meaning it will still get updates or in other words E19) a bearable task! 🙂

I'll make a topic for the translation once I'm at a point where I can say that I'll eventually finish it.

    Edit: [REMOVED]

  3. Actually, I need to correct myself: The average pulses' BST is 238 points higher. Speed is still usually lowered, HP changes only on avalugg, attack usually doesn't change and special attack and both defenses are raised.

Taking this into consideration I think Pulse-Arceus' base stats would look something like this:

    120 HP | 120 Attack | 200 Defense | 170 Special Attack | 200 Special Defense | 100 Speed

    BST: 910 | 190 higher than Arceus

This'd actually be a lower boost than pulses usually get, but Arceus already has high stats and a BST slightly higher than pulses usually have.

Speed being lowered makes sense for two reasons:

First of, it is really bulky and has a high special attack. If it kept its 120 base speed or got an even higher speed it'd outspeed and 1-hit ko almost every opponent, leaving only "cheesy" strats as viable options. (At least unless you get access to choice scarf by then, but then you still only have one party member that can outspeed it.)

Secondly, there's still the hooked to a pulse thing that kithas mentioned.

So, what do you think of these base stats? Do they seem realistic?

  4. So, since I was very bored I did some math (actually I used google sheets).

The average pulses BST is 370 points higher than the BST of the non-pulse mon.

If Pulse-Arceus follows this pattern, its BST would be 1090.

Now, let's assume it keeps its even stat distribution.

This'd leave us with a base stat of ~180 across the board.

In reality this probably won't happen (at least I hope so), but it should give you a rough idea of what levels of power a Pulse-Arceus could reach.

If anyone is interested in the pulse base stats and a comparison to the non-pulse Pokémon, here's the link. (Feel free to PM me if you notice any mistakes)

Fun Fact: On average pulses are slightly slower than the non-pulse variant.

Pretty sure the easiest way to sum it up is:

    • Anna is a member of the E4
    • Ame was originally the honorary champion.
    • The battle that took place between Ame and Lin was not an official league battle and therefore Lin is not officially the champion.
    • Lin most likely will, however, take the place of what a champion battle is in main games.
    • The intended next champion, as stated by Adrienn, is us.  We are not there currently, but once we defeat the rest of the league, we will.

So, I was originally going to include a section talking about why I personally don't think Anna will be part of the E4 (unless that was already confirmed somewhere and I missed it), though that doesn't really matter that much.

The reasson why I don't think Lin will "function" as the champion is mainly that I don't think she has a reasson to.

Her plans seem to not involve getting to power in a legal way.

And the circumstances under which we may (or may not 😮 ) fight Lin will probably not allow us to beat the E4 beforehand.

  6. Well, if that's the case that would mean we wouldn't have a champion battle (since no one else qualifies).

The only other option I see there is that we don't get a champion fight, but instead the evil team finale. (Like in BW)

(Which I still find unlikely, having no champion fight in Pokémon Reborn would feel weird to me)

  7. I warn you, this is a long post 😛 !

I originally wanted to post this on the X% thread but I quickly figured this theory is too large.

So, since this is the last episode and only one gym leader is left, there won't be any discussions as to who will be the upcoming gym leader. Unless the last gym leader also dies next episode

But since we will face the E4 & Champ next episode the identities of those could be up to speculation.

We do know that the following people are Elite 4 members: [E18 & earlier spoilers]

    Spoiler

Laura and/or Bennett (since Bennett and Laura might team up)

    Heather

Elias (not 100% sure on that one though)

This leaves one E4 member unknown. Who do you think could be the last E4 member?

Well, let's get to the main part of this post: The potential champion!

    Who would be the champion?

I thought about that topic for a while and came to the following theory:

As we all know in-game Amethyst was defeated and decapitated by Lin, so Amethyst falls out of the equation.

Lin, on the other hand, can't be the champion because (as I'm pretty sure) the battle wasn't official, especially since Lin also killed Ame after the batttle. And on another note I don't think Lin would even want to be the champion nor battle as the champion.

I don't think that we will be the champion because we beat the E4 and there is no champion, though if that WOULD be the case we would probably have a challenger battle like in the 7th gen canon games. (Though there is no character other than the MC that beat (will have beaten) all gym leaders to qualify for the E4 battles, so even that isn't a possibility.

One might say Fern, since he/she (sorry, I don't remember xD) is our rival, though he stopped his/her journey for the gym badges for joining Team Meteor.

(And I also think there should be a battle against Ame somehow)

So, to recap: There will 99% be a champ battle

Ame is dead and she was the champ

Lin isn't the champ since she didn't play by the rules

No one except the MC is about to beat all the gym leaders of Reborn, thus being able to take on the E4 and thus being a possible candidate for the champion

The rest of my theory contains heavy E18 spoilers.

    Spoiler

As we learned in E18, dead people in Reborn might not be quite as dead as we may have thought they were; they just land in some kind of other dimension we know as the "Void".

We saw numerous dead characters in the Void and some of them were... Ame.

(The next part explains why I think the Void really is where the dead end up, you can skip if you want to.

So, you might say "They're just illusions, the Void isn't really where the dead end up, it's just where we and a couple of other people landed when they were sucked in by Gardevoir's black hole!

    Well... I don't think so.

First off, Reborn is more realistic than your average Pokémon (fan)game.

And, as any person with at least some knowledge of black holes knows: If you enter them, you're doomed.

While Gardevoir's black hole might not have behaved quite like a RL black hole would, I'd say you can probably just say video game logic there, since if it would behave like a RL black hole (and was massive enough to not instantly collapse in on itself, which Gardevoir's black hole apparently was (instantly at least)) the whole PokéPlanet would be gone, which would be quite an anticlimactic end to Reborn.

Regarding the "They're just illusions": It seems like they ARE illusions...

Of the real people in there! This is evidenced by us seing both an aware version of Cain and unaware illusions of Cain (and also just an aware version of Gardevoir and also of Kiki, who had died prior and elsewhere, which further proofs the claim)
It is also further evidenced by the fact that Shade, who seems to be closely related to all things death, can leave and enter the realm and also take people with him/her. (Luna, seens to also have some kind of power over the Void. AND LIN. For whatever reasson. But I won't go down this theory rabbithole today. This is about the potential champion)

To recap again: The Void is where the dead end up

Ame is dead, thus in the void

There are ways to leave the void

If we take both of my recaps there really only is one logical conclusion:

Ame comes back to the world of the living and acts as the champion again!

Now, what do you think about my theory?

I tried my best to find any potential flaws, but if I did miss some then make sure to point them out to me 🙂 .

This theory might be edited a bit/ added upon.

    Did I miss anything?

Do you have some theories of your own regarding this topic?

Well, I think I stole enough of your time now 😛 .

(And I also think that I'm bad at ending my theories)

  8. I had the most trouble with Titania...

I remember battling her dozens of time hoping for good RNG, her Aegislash both outspeed and one-hitted my entire team, even though at that point my Pokemon had proper natures, EVs and IVs...

Another fight I remember having a lot of trouble with was Radomus, his Gardevoir also outspeed and one-hitted my entire team which made me rebuild almost my entire team... Though I didn't have to change it after that.

  9. First off: I don't know if this is the right place to ask, though I also don't know where the right place would be.

(I also know there's been a similar thread recently)

So, I basically need a save file right at the end of E17, if it would be on the path where Taka stays alive (I forgot wether it's Reshiram or Zekrom) then that would be a nice bonus, since I also choose that path on my save file.

(Team really doesn't matter, I'll give myself my own team using debug mode)

And, in case someone wants to know:

The reasson why I can't use my own save file is that I'm currently not at home and forgot to bring over an USB stick with it. And since E18 will come out very, very soon and I won't be back home for 1.5 weeks and I really want to play E18 I'm asking for a save file.

    That's it.

  10. I'm not so sure about the Hardy battle, even if it's in doubles. Yes, there's Barrier and Reflect, but Rock Types still have a lot of weaknesses. (Though it's possible that he'll use Trick Room, if there's a rock type that can learn Trick Room, that is)

Pretty much every single one of my Pokemon covers one weakness of Rock types. (Feraligatr: Cascade; Arcanine: Close Combat; Gardevoir: /; Haxorus: Iron Tail (and Earthquake IF we finally get it; Venusaur: Petal Dance; Magnezone: Flash Cannon (and it could take advantage of Trick Room, since it's as slow as possible))

But we all know Ame, so Hardy will probably somehow by the 2nd hardest (no pun intendet) gym leader to beat, right after Sapphira (I really expect something that makes me want to throw the PC out the window, a game like this one needs a hard final gym leader and will probably get one)

From now on it will mostly be theories.

So, after looking at the large Reborn map, the 4 (Ame said they're going to be 4 new areas, right?) maps that I think will be added are:

-Agate City (though I'm not sure if that counts) , Abandoned Gym

    -Labradorra City, Abandoned Gym

    -Glass Workstation

    -Suspicious House

That would mean the following locations are still not in the game (and will be coming with the final episode; episode 19)

    -Victory Road

    -Charous Pass

    -Charous Mountain

    -Hall of Fame

    -Hall of Champions

    For the pulses...

I think we'll probably battle the Mr. Mime, since we'll get into Labradorra somehow.

I don't think we'll battle the Clawitzer, I think it'll be one of the pulses we just get the info of without ever battling it.

Then, there's the thing with Agate. Since we'll probably be able to enter Agate City, we'll probably have to solve the sleep issue there. I think it's caused by a pulse (this game taught me that if something weird, seemingly magical, is happening, you should just blame it on pulses xD) A great Pokemon for causing people to fall asleep would be Hypno and I think we'll probably battle it at either the Glass Workstation or the Suspicious House (they're both close to Agate City)

So, only one pulse left and I don't think we'll battle it... Just yet. I'm pretty sure it will be the "final boss" of the story and I don't think we'll get to the climax in Episode 18, since I also think that we're not going to battle the last gym leader and I don't think, we'll finish the story before we finish the gyms.

And last but not least, the remaining evolution lines.

If I remember correctly, the non-legendary/mythical/ultra-beast lines that aren't available yet are:

-Dragonite line | -Scizor line | -Tyrannitar line | -Salamence line | -Dragonite line | -Hydreigon line

So, I guess we'll probably get the Scizor line after the Hardy battle, and maybe the Tyrannitar line, too. I'm quite convinced that we won't get the other 4 lines.

I guess the content of E18 will end right before the Sapphira battle, since we're (probably) not going to get to the Victory Road in Episode 18.

(Did I actually write that much D: )

  11. Spoiler

So, I'm looking for the Draconium Z.

Well, actually I know where it is, but I don't know how to get there.

I looked at a map, but I still couldn't find a way to get there...

So, how do you get there?

  12. Well, as far as I know the only one you get is from the quest, but even if it isn't, you need the one from the 7th street. (Unless you started in E17 I think)

I can trade you one if you want, just PM me.

Edit: I looked it up. The game checks for the species and OT.

  13. Well, it's looking for the right directory...

    D:/Pokémon Reborn/Reborn17-0-2/Pokemon Reborn/Data/Mods/

Tbh, i recommend you to separate E17 from E16 to avoid errors.

Well, it's now on my Desktop and working just fine :)

  14. It gives me the error message.

Well, I just solved the issue.

I put the Reborn folder on my Desktop and ran it from there.

Maybe it has something to do with how the location of the Mods folder is described in the Scripts file?

I guess I can try messing around with that...

Edit: It could have something to do with my E17 folder "Pokemon Reborn" being inside my E16 folder "Pokemon Reborn"
