  1. Frigus does indeed react quickly to the sudden threat. Turning around and locking the door in a split second, then running to catch up with Harry. As soon as they made it to an open enough area he grabbed Harry's shoulder and summoned his Keyblade glider before attempting to fly to wherever the XCOM ship was. Frigus locks the door then GTFOs on his glider, picking up Harry on his way.
  2. "Lot's of things, I keep up with town logs and major trading, negotiations, map-making, I've got a building of books on wilderness survival, and I've done lots of research on the island." He gave her a somewhat confused look in response to her second question. (17 vs 9, not hiding anything, just confused) "That's....what we're do...ing..." He looked over to answer Lucille's question, seemingly relieved for an escape from Jun's question. "Well everyone is willing to help protect the town, and at least half of us have more than a day or two of training with a weapon. There is another small town on a nearby island. Technically, and only just. We're in the frontier, no one really cares what we do or what happens to us. The island we're on used to be host to a great kingdom, they delved deeply into the magical arts and eventually that magic and warring gods were their undoing. Their enchantments and artifacts were left to be forgotten in the land, the land we stand on now, the same land that so magical it raises it's own dead and is infested with the eyes of long dead demons." Jeff pauses for a second to listen to the rest of Satomi's and Leo's questions. "Hmm. Well I'm glad you've got an engineer with you. I imagine you'll be pivotal to the defense of the village over the next few day. Though, actually. It will probably take the goblins a week or more to cut their way here and move all their supplies and soldiers." He looked almost lost in thought for second before abruptly pulling himself back to reality. "Oh, right. Umm bath and mine. Yes we've got both, and a blacksmith's shop too. He may even still be up at this hour. Some of you might want to go ask him for armor or weapons." He looked over to Alyssa's...odd question. "Well, we had a painter. But he disappeared about four days ago." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few seconds later a commotion could be heard outside, sounded like shouting, like someone was going door-to-door saying something. Not long later Andre the Arms Dealer came into the Tavern and walked over to the party and Jeff. "Hey, Urist spotted something flying around out there while on watch. We don't know what it is, but it's big and judging by the number of eyes following it it doesn't look friendly. Would you folks mind helping if it comes to a fight? Paul said he'd gather some gear up at his smith if you need anything." With that the Guide stood up from the table, looked in the direction of the other table with people talking, and gave a short whistle followed by a hand gesture that urged them to get moving and go along with Andre. The three quickly stopped talking and did just that. "Sorry, it looks like this is going to have to be the end of our conversation for a little while." Post for whether your character is joining this fight or not. Those that do and want some extra gear will be directed to Paul's blacksmith shop for equipment before the fight starts: NPCs will also assist in this fight!
  3. Jeff looked thoughtful for a couple seconds after Arminius's question before finally responding. "I'll have to check some records later, but that sounds like the goblin army you're talking about. They may not all be goblins, but they're all a nasty bunch, either way if they're coming here with an invasion force this village wouldn't stand a chance on its own. I guess you could call that a time of great need." He turned to answer Jun's questions; "Honestly I wasn't there for the actual prophesizing. I was only told about it after the fact by the Dryad, the one who made the prophesy in the first place, so there isn't much more I can tell you about that. She should be back tomorrow some time and she'll be able to give you more details. As for the state of the town, well almost everyone's got a house, we've got a mine, sawmill, and blacksmith's shop setup. Some small farms by the river to the south. We've got one guard tower and some basic walls to keep the slimes and zombies out, and the eyes can't take bright light long. Actually, here--" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small sack "--One hundred silver coins, most of the people in town will probably help you no problem, but a few like Frank who runs the general store, are deep seated capitalists." He passes the sack over the table. The party gains 100 Silver coins to spend with various shop NPCs in Terraria.
  4. Tim grit his teeth and held his ground as the psychos assaulted him and his newfound companions. "Only a second more!" He shouted through grit teeth, and then, about a second later he released the bolt of energy from his Hyperkinetic lens, freeing it to tear through what remained of the enemies. Tim charges his Hyperkinetic Lens, increasing damage by [Int]*2, he spends 4 EMC to boost it by further by [Int], then he spends 16 EMC and fires it at the Badass Bruiser(unless he's dead in that case which ever Psycho looks the healthiest.) for 48 damage. Remaining EMC: 24/48.
  5. Jeff looked over toward Lucille. "Oh, we call those Demon Eyes. You're lucky more didn't come after you. They usually fly in groups of a half dozen or more. As for the walk, I'd say less than a mile, but most of it's uphill." Andre glanced up at the Weatherlight upon hearing Leo's question. "Sorry bud, no dice. This is the closest place with a large enough flat spot to park that. Also, I think the Tavern Keep uses those for making health potions. Don't eat the purple or the red ones, they'll kill ya." Jeff and Andre shook Jun's hand, then Jeff answered her question. "The Dryad spoke a prophesy about adventurers from another world coming to help protect our island in a time of great need. I do assume correctly you're not from this world?" After finishing up the small talk the Guide and Arms-Dealer lead the party up into the mountains. The party made their way through a fairly narrow pass that opened into a wide sloped area. Small flickering lights signified nearly a dozen houses dotted over the hills. The sound of running water and the occasional reflection tells the party this is indeed a river valley. The distant creaking of a waterwheel turning can be heard. The Arms-Dealer bids them good night and heads off in a different direction towards one of the houses. The Guide leads the party to what is almost certainly the largest building nearby. Inside the party finds a fairly well lit hall with a couple heavy tables and chairs centered around a fire pit in the middle, a bar of sorts can be seen at the back along with stairs leading both up and down. Three people can be seen sitting at one of the tables chatting while another is sitting at the bar fiddling with something, the bartender looks up as you enter and calls out to the Guide. "Hey Jeff, I take it ya found'em then?" "That I did. I'm going to set them up with the two rooms upstairs, is that fine?" "Sure, whatever ya need, so long as they pay for breakfast." Jeff looked back to that party and addressed them generally. "Welcome to town, specifically the the Tavern. That's Dale the Barkeep. You've got the two rooms upstairs to stay in tonight, I'll have Dale send some extra bedding up. Well, now that we're safe I think we can take a seat and I'll answer any questions I can." He gestures to the empty table, with plenty of seats for everyone.
  6. Frigus glanced around the armory room, nothing particular jumped out at him. Then he got the message from Proditor. "Well Doctor, I don't know who the XCOM are exactly but if they're going to blow this place up you should grab anything you want and then we need to leave. Because I don't know about you, but I don't want to try my luck with explosives again so soon." Frigus is ready to leave the building as soon as Harry is.
  7. Jun goes “invisible” and prepares for a rampage. Jun swings at the Slime Zombie, it doesn’t stand a chance, the blue gelatinous substance around its head bursts into flames on contact with her plasma sword. Jun re-kills the Slime Zombie with needless amounts of damage. Jun swings at the two Pin-cushions, dealing 56 and 58 damage to them, re-killing them both. An odd glowing red heart pops out and floats to the ground. Jun finishes by turning the “Armed” zombie into an “unarmed, beheaded” zombie, dealing 53 damage in the process. Satomi dashes in to attack Pin-cushion B only to find that the dishonorable, filthy, sneaking, plasma sword wielding, had already killed it from the shadows. Kusuke shifts himself back to before he was full of holes, ah good times. Lucille’s two sonic blades slice into zombies A & B for 26 and 23 damage. Her Chameleon finishes off zombie A, while he Snake bites zombie B for 2 damage. Another heart appears. Kusuke stabs zombie B in back for 15 damage, it collapses to the ground in a heap. Alyssa attempts to traumatize zombie B, while it seems to have already passed on due to the efforts of her allies, zombie C looks similar enough, her creation traumatizes zombie C for 15 damage….somehow. Lucille plays her kazoo again, this time heal Jun for 4 HP. Her Chameleon fires its tongue at the Demon eye, narrowly missing it. The Snake(seeing it has little chance to reach the eye) attacks zombie C for 5 damage, it fails to inflict paralyze. Leo summons an icy wind to the battlefield, it deals 4 damage to the Demon Eye(who can’t dodge the air) and no damage to zombie C(who doesn’t get cold). Frostbrute picks up the smoldering remains of the slime zombie and tosses it in the direction of the Demon Eye. (16 vs 9) Whether or not it connects you can’t really tell, but either way the Demon Eye doesn’t come back. Kusuke stabs zombie C dealing 13 damage and causing it to stagger. Zombie C makes its final attempt at massacre attacking Satomi for 11 damage. Arminius can’t find to Demon Eye to catch its attention, and Fingers thoroughly clubs the corpse of zombie A. Kusuke stabs zombie C for the last time, dealing 12 damage and putting an end to it. Another heart pops out. Calvera lacks anything to kill. Battle end rewards: As the battle comes to its conclusion, two sets of footsteps can be heard coming down the mountain trail. These are far more "lively" than the zombie's footsteps had been, and not long after hearing them two men came around the corner and into the clearing. The first man, wearing a pale greenish shirt and blue jeans, with blonde hair spoke. "Ah, adventurers. So glad we finally found you, not before the monsters though I see. My name is Jeff, I'm the guide. This here is Andre the Arms Dealer." The other man, wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and a grey long-coat. With black hair, and holding a revolver. Sort of grunts in your general direction. "I know you'll have lots of questions, but we should head back to the village soon. Before more monsters show up." ((Once you all get a chance to talk a little I'll time skip to the village.))
  8. Tim looks over the charging horde of men, then glances down at his ring. After coming to some decision he takes a step back, reaches into one of his pockets to pull out a large red-tinted lens. the lens begins vibrating with a soft hum as he pours power into it. "This is going to take a second to charge up, but I should be able to wipe a couple people off the map with it." Tim charges his Hyperkinetic lens, he boosts the charge rate by spending 4 EMC(energy). Current effect and damage: [Int]*3 damage. Loadout:
  9. Would've helped if I put this in sooner: Jun becomes more A.G.I.L.E. and boosts their Dex by 6 for 2 rounds. Kusuke Doubleshifts Arminus who uses “Mass inspire” boosting the Str and Res of all allies by 5 for 5 turns. Lucille fires blades of sonic energy at the two Demon Eyes, they are however, deceptively fast and both manage to dodge her attack. Her Chameleon doesn’t fair much better as its tongue tears away at rotten flesh that doesn’t seem very vital, only dealing 6 damage. Her Snake does slightly better, it’s fangs sinking into necrotic flesh but succeeding in delivering an electric shock. Jun reaches out and “Lord Varder”s the “Armed” Zombie, locking it in place. The choking doesn’t actually seem to do much. It seems Satomi’s overwhelming fury surpassed the odds stacked against her as she filled the Demon Eye with crossbow bolts, dealing 26 damage and killing it. Kusuke started throwing knives at the last flying eyeball, somehow darkness plus silent and fast flight made them very hard to hit.(missed) The “Armed” Zombie finds itself unable to approach any further, so instead it flails wildly about. The Slime Zombie staggers towards Jun, it claws at her for 8 damage. The Zombie smears blue gelatinous goo on the outside of her suit. Alyssa insults the dress of the first Pin-cushion Zombie, it looks confused and deeply hurt. Lucille heals Jun for 5 HP with her kazoo. Her Chameleon attacks to other pin-cushion catching it in a weak spot for 20 damage. The bite of her Snake yet again fails to find decent flesh to strike, though it does pull through with the shock again as well. Frostbrute walks over to Jun and slams into the Slime Zombie with it’s massive hand,(10vs6) the zombie goes staggering into a tree and gets impaled on a branch taking 10 damage. It looks stuck for the time being. Frostbrute’s heat goes down to “Cozy”. Leo attacks the “Armed” Zombie, dealing 2 damage to it. The zombie becomes chilled but not frozen. The only remaining Demon Eye swoops down at Lucille for 12 damage. Jun ignites her plasma sword and realizes her mistake as soon as she makes it, the blue gelatinous goo on her suit bursts into flames dealing 12 fire damage before dying out. She manages to continue with her attack though and deals 31 damage to the first Pin-cushion. Kusuke throws another knife at the Demon Eye, this is harder than it looks(miss). One of the Zombies slams into Satomi for 6 damage, another into Alyssa for 11 damage, and the last into Calvera for 9 damage. Arminius inspires Frostbrute even more! The first Pin-cushion tries to move but finds itself Paralyzed. The second Pin-cushion comes over to give Kusuke a hug, the arrows stab into him for 19 damage. Fingers buffs herself. Kusuke finally manages to catch the Demon Eye and deals 14 damage to it. Calvera throws lightning at the “Armed” Zombie and the second Pin-cushion, causing them both to become shocked and take 16 damage. Init: Status:
  10. Frigus whipped around to the creature, raised up his Keyblade, and came down upon it like a ton of bricks. Striking it until it was no longer a viable threat. Frigus makes Basic Keyblade attacks and Combo Keyblade attacks for 3d8+6 until the Chrysasalid is dead or he has attacked four times.
  11. "Alright." Frigus prepared himself, then timed his opening of the door so that one of the Chryssalids pounding on it would come flying through, then he tore into it and the next one he could get his hands on. Frigus makes a Basic Keyblade attack against the first Chryssalid dealing 3d8+6 damage, this triggers Combo+ letting him immediately follow up with a Combo Keyblade attack for 3d8+6 damage. Then Frigus makes a Basic Keyblade attack against the second Chryssalid dealing 3d8+6 damage, this triggers his other Combo+ letting him immediately follow up with a Combo Keyblade attack for 3d8+6 damage.
  12. Tim shrugs at Vitor's comment. "If it's an excuse to blow someone's head off and not get chased out of town I'm game." He polishes some residual grit off one of his rings, a skull shaped silver ring with an arrow below it.
  13. As they entered the first room Frigus look curiously a the black pods, though he had the sense not to actually touch them. He glanced over the computer systems as he walked past, clearly in a different language. "I haven't got much for a stealth mission, not really my thing." He waited a second for Harry to think. Then followed him over to one of the doors that led deeper into the complex. Harry opened the door to find three large creatures and instinctively went to close it. Frigus on the other hand stuck his Keyblade inbetween the door and the door-frame, sent a shower of ice magic down the hallway, removed his Keyblade, kicked the door closed, and locked it magically. "Got a plan B? or should I open this back up and kill whatever those are?" Frigus was already working to prepare a barrier over the door as he spoke. Frigus casts "Blizzard" down the hallway, dealing 3d8+7 damage to the three Chryssalids and possibly a fourth target, it also would reduce their Init by 2. Then he locks the door with his Keyblade.
  14. The Landing site: Shortly after Lucille finished scribing her Sanctuary was around the time that the other could actually hear the humanoids in the woods as well as see a couple dark shapes pass over the clearing. And then they came into the clearing. Humans, probably. Pale greenish skin, filthy ragged clothes, cuts, scrapes, and festering wounds. One seemed to be holding its left arm in its right hand, having had it torn off at some point. Another had a rough sphere of some blue gelatinous substance around its head. Two others had at least a dozen arrows each sticking out of various parts of their torso and heads. Then, not but seconds later, a massive flying eye swooped down from above. Slightly larger than a man's head with veins trailing through the air behind it. It left as soon as it came, flying back up into the sky. Init: Status:
  15. Tim turned towards Vitor. "What is an 'Australia'? and if it looks like this why would you go there on purpose?" As he spoke he opened one half of his robe and started poke through the needless number of pockets inside, he pulled out several rings and a dull grey amulet strung on an equally dull chain. Seemingly satisfied he put the assorted wears on.
  16. Round 4 Laver heals Solomon for 20 HP by smacking him in the face a few times. Lilya Bleeds for 5 damage, the bleeding stops. The beasts spend their turn chewing and clawing through multitudes of thick vines. Sachi braces to take the oncoming storm. Sachi Bleeds for 5 damage. Halley fires a bolt of energy at Bel Lahmu C, reducing its stats. The first of the flying monsters swoops down to where Lilya had been standing a few seconds ago, totally missing her. The second flying monsters dives at Hiroki dealing a grand total of 10 damage. As Lexiel Fluxcharges Jade her aura restores 5 HP to herself, Lilya, and Halley. Another of the monsters attempts to go after Lilya only to find her on the other side of the battlefield. Lahmus B and C attack Jade and Hiroki for 5 and 1 damage respectively. Lahmu B gains one BoF. The DT Archers struggle to make their way free from the vines. Venus heals Lilya for 29 HP, suddenly she feels much better. Jade fires a round at Bel Lahmu B dealing 21 damage, the thing nearly falls to the ground from the impact and it seems to be losing blood fast. The DT Soldiers split up and attack Jade(who dodges), Solomon for 8 damage, Laver for 11, Venus for 7, and Lexiel for 11. DT Soldiers gain a BoF. Solomon stabs at the beasts for 12+11 damage one beast crumbles and Solomon gains 2 HP from the consumed bond. Solomon Bleeds for 5 damage. Hiroki surrounds herself with burning plasma, wouldn’t want to get close to that. Hiroki Bleeds for 10 damage, the bleeding slows. The archers on the Asterlux wall send arrows flying towards the DT soldiers, dealing 15, 14, and 12 damage, causing two to crumble into dust. Rattling from over the hills can be heard, five DT Archers join the battle. Init: Status:
  17. The Landing site: Leo would notice that shortly after he and Frostbrute climbed out of the Weatherlight all of the slimes in the area scattered, fleeing into the rocks and forest. At the same time he would note that the final traces of the sun had dipped below the horizon and darkness was rapidly falling over the area. A path could be found that crossed the center of the clearing, with one end heading deeper into the forest and towards the coast and the other up towards the mountains. (74) Leo stumbles across several(4) bright orange and yellow mushrooms, they smell sweat. Before Leo could take any serious action he heard a loud noise, like the sound of an engine roaring and before long he could see a great light in the distant sky, heading straight for the clearing. The Magic School Bus: The crew in the bus watched for several more minutes as they passed the ships, then the outlying islands, and then over the main island itself. By this point the sun could only barely been seen in the sky, even from this high up. The bus automatically turned on its headlights and started to slow for a final descent. A "fasten seat belts" sign flashed and the bus began it's own landing procedures, it seemed to be heading for a fairly small clearing in the woods in which a large wooden and metal skyship could be seen parked with two humanoid figures milling about on the ground. The bus lands with relative ease and the doors open.
  18. Before the button press: Tim turned to look at Freya and shook her hand in kind. "I am Tim the Transmuter. It's a pleasure to meet you as well, I just got here due to a transposer misalignment." After the button press: Tim pulled himself wearily out of the pod and stumbled out onto the ground. "Never. Again. Never." After a couples seconds to pull himself together he looked in the direction of the shirtless screaming men. He gave himself a few more seconds to process what they actually were then leaned toward Freya to say something. "Those guys look crazy to me. Do they look crazy to you? Just gotta make sure I'm not the crazy one."
  19. The Weatherlight: With a thunderous clap the "arms" of the cloud monster slam together, though it doesn't seem interested in following the Weatherlight any lower. Leo manages(somehow) to stick the landing in the clearing. The stumps of large trees litter the ground around the clearing though several seem to be burnt out. Almost immediately Leo notices strange blue, green, and purple gelatinous creatures bouncing around aimlessly. He witnesses one of the creatures who has managed to catch itself a rabbit, or what was once a rabbit and is now a half digested lump of meat. The Magic School Bus: With little activity inside the bus made it's way toward the island, slowly it got larger and larger. At one point as the bus overtook the small brown specks their true nature was revealed, dozens of boats far below sailing straight towards the island. Blue, purple, and green skinned beings in many sizes, shapes, and descriptions all with an air of barbarism and violence about them. Several ships held massive lumbering beasts that barely even fit on them and could likely be used to bring down entire buildings with a couple swipes. The bus sped on though, it would reach the island in due time.
  20. Frigus nodded and made to follow Harry. With a faint shimmer(instead of the normal flash of light) he summoned his Keyblade and used it to open the nearest door should it have been locked. He didn't have many skills for stealth operations, but he did his best to keep low, quiet, and stay out of sight. Frigus follows Harry's lead and uses "Lockbreaker" to open any locked doors barring their entry.
  21. Tim walks up to the group of people standing around the pod. "Well I don't know about you lot, but the last time a crazy robot told me to do something and I ignored it I got sent here. So umm all aboard?" With that(and not a single introduction) the strange redrobed wizard climbed into pod.
  22. Frigus followed Harry of Proditor off the bus and down to the ground below. After giving cursory glace to the rest of his surroundings Frigus's attention was held by the large black building in the distance. "You know this place better than we do, but I'm assuming that our first course of action involves getting to that building?" Frigus addressed Proditor while still examining the building.
  23. The Weatherlight Shortly after finishing his training in the gym things happened, people left, and before he knew it Leo was standing in the power room of the Weatherlight, the only person onboard, waiting as it flew through the void toward an unknown destination. The Weatherlight begins slowing down, which is a relief to Leo until he hears a loud tearing sound and the Weatherlight appears, mostly stationary, floating in an evening sky. Upon climbing to the control room he finds himself surrounded with clouds above and below, the sun setting in the distance, casting reds, purples, pinks, oranges, and yellows across the sky. Through the patchwork clouds below he catches faint glimpses of lush forest. The Magic School Bus Having dropped Frigus, Mirri, Lilly, Proditor, and Harry to various fates the rest of the crew finds the bus piloting itself(yet again) to a place unknown. After a few minutes of travel it started to slow, then with a loud tearing noise followed by the windows opening, they appeared high in the sky above a loose patchwork of clouds that failed to hide the nigh endless ocean below. The bus propelled itself forward at high speed towards a distant island, with several groups of little brown specks on the ocean between here and there. With the rate at which they were moving it looked like it would take a little under an hour to reach the island. The sun could be seen starting to hang low in the sky, they wouldn't have much daylight once they did reach the island.
  24. "Those do look interesting. I honestly wouldn't know what we're flying around in, I just got here." He thought for a second, giving Lucine more time to inspect the book. "You know, if that is some sort of user manual it wouldn't hurt to have a copy or two. Do you mind if I take a look?" Assuming she handed it to him Tim would take the book and immediately almost drop it with a look of shock on his face. "This...it has to be worth more than a stack of Nether Stars with hundreds of library's worth of information. It would take more than four thousand years and half a dimension worth of EMC to copy this. Wherever this came from it should be put somewhere safe until we can translate it." He would hand the book back just in time to hear a loud thump resound through the ship. "I wonder what that was, nothing important I hope." He looked around a little. "Well I for one intend to go find out." Tim makes his way towards the strange sound, poking his head into various rooms as he walks past, at one point he steps into one to pickup an odd greenish pearl. Eventually he makes it to where Vitor is poking the Hyperion escape pod.
  25. Morgan: 63/82 Stats: Con:9, Res:11(6+5), Dex:0, Int:4, Str:10, Syn:38(14+10+14), Active Cooldowns: None! Effects: Dodge: 91%, Deal [Syn] pure damage to attacker, Takes 4 extra (pure)damage from all attacks, Negative effects/statuses have -1 duration(minimum 1), 45% magic damage reduction. Morgan uses Soul Mend on Ritsu, Hikari, and Isobell restoring [Syn]*2 HP to each. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Friedhold: 52/54 Stats: Con:2, Res:8, Dex:3, Int:10, Str:3, Syn:7, Eve: 28/28, Adam:20. Effects: Gains [LVL] Eve every turn, +[Syn] Res against cold attacks, Fire damage stuns. Friedhold continues to lash at the poor fools on the other side of the battlefield. You guessed it, Friedhold uses Undertow, inflicting Lancer with the stun and Knocked Prone, and the two groups of Soldiers with Knocked Prone(removes defensive effects), this costs three Eve.
