  1. "Didn't even get the time to introduce myself... hey, Royal Guards, Rayne basically asked me to help her out some a while ago, and now I guess helping with this." Clarisse says, before advancing through the trees. R9
  2. Clarisse sticks a bit back as Rayne approaches her comrades - she doesn't want to interrupt, and she'll introduce herself when Rayne's done with her conversation. She didn't seem to notice the aggressive dwarf from earlier, or if she did was not showing it.
  3. Clarisse couldn't help but stifle a giggle at the "guard-guard" comment - it was funny, after all. "Yeah... no paperwork. Mom tried to have me do enough of that back home... I like bodyguard. It also has the benefit of being pretty much true, so. Bodyguard it is. Apart from that, you'll need to explain why you need one, being a Royal Guard and all. Maybe mention the whole thing about getting lost easily, note that you don't want to make the other guards deal with that when they have important duties, so on? I'm guessing you guys will be in plenty of towns and you mentioned your pegasus not really liking people so I'm guessing my 'services' would be used a lot."
  4. Clarisse listened quietly as Rayne made her case, nodding occasionally. She waited for the somewhat ditzy Royal Guard to finish before she responded. She considered for a few moments. While she wouldn't be joining the Royal Guards, she'd be traveling with them - and from what she'd heard, things tended to get dangerous around those types. The weight of her axe, strapped to her side, did enough to dispel the worry - she could defend herself. She was traveling anyway, and she'd used up most of her money paying for the repairs - that drunken Royal Guard (?) had caused a lot of property damage. She'd be expecting an apology and a thank you when the woman sobered up. Finally, Clarisse did have a sense of responsibility, and this girl was begging to be robbed in a city. Also, she was kinda cute. "Seeing how you can get lost in a town as small as this one... if I leave you to your own devices, my conscience will yell at me for a week. If you can convince your friends, I'd be happy to go with you. Probably more interesting traveling with people, anyway."
  5. Clarisse raised an eyebrow at the sudden stop, and the question. "Not at all, go ahead and ask."
  6. "There's not a ton of fountains in the town, shouldn't be too hard to find. And don't worry about it, happy to help. I've been waiting for a ship that could take me somewhere else for a week now, and I needed something to do. The schedules are a mess, they're never there when they're supposed to be and never going the right places when you do find one. I hope that clears up soon..."
  7. Clarisse had waved to the shopkeeper when she entered, and had been browsing while waiting for Rayne to finish up. "Marigold guild, eh? I think I've heard of them. Mom always loved to commission things from them, enough to go to them in person instead of sending someone. Anyway, now that that's done, where too next? You wanted to find the other Royal Guards?"
  8. "I don't see this ending well for the poor kid, so... yeah. Wyvern, try to keep her from killing him, alright?" Clarisse says, "Let's go. I think I remember a tailor's shop, I needed a patch a couple days ago."
  9. Clarisse blinked as the aggressive dwarf's draconic mount stormed in, taking a step back to avoid the beast. "Thanks, uh... wyvern. Ah..." Clarisse turns to Rayne. "You don't happen to have some Royal Guard-brand cure for drunkeness, do you?"
  10. "She, on the other hand, can't seem to hold her liquor..." Clarisse says, as she takes a step back from the somewhat drunk Royal Guard's clumsy punch. "I'm serious! And even if I had done that, you don't need to start a dang bar fight over it! I used most of my money paying the owner back for the damages, including the parts you caused!"
  11. "For the last time, I was not making a short joke, I was talking about the bar stools..." As Rayne approaches, the taller woman looks away from her short conversation partner, fuming a bit, although she brightens quickly. "Ah, you're new here, too? Yeah, I can kinda see how you'd get lost in a new place... I could help if you want, yeah. Not like I'm doing anything other than drinking a bit right now - don't worry, it takes more than just a mug to get me tipsy - so why not. What's a Royal Guard doing here, anyway? Seems a bit out of the way." She pauses, before remembering something. "Oh, forgot to introduce myself. My name is Clarisse Verun. A pleasure to meet you. I've only been here a week, but I think I got a decent idea of the place."
  12. Forge is quiet, focused. She's not making a show of it, but she's concentrating, bringing the drones she had sent out a while ago towards her. She was thinking she may be able to use them to break Ansuz's focus, give their cavalry a clear shot and maybe break them out.
  13. Hikari, having some acting experience, responded in kind with a quiet giggle (and a light blush, although the acting there was more in question) to disguise her words - "When you get a chance, pass it off. Ivory can take care of it." she said under her breath, so that only Kagari could hear.
  14. "Ah... sure? No reason not too. Three 'Japanese tourists' aren't any more suspicious than two." Hikari says, waiting to let Sachi catch up. Heck, maybe it'd be less suspicious - Hikari knew the stereotypes.
  15. "Anyway... let's go on that tour thing. We should get a look at the inside and we're probably two of the least obviously armed people in the group." Hikari says. Assuming an affirmative answer, Hikari looks up how to get on such a tour of the corporation, and then the two head that way. The mini-kagari that Kagari has just been leaving on Hikari's head has shapeshifted to look like a rather nice hat rather than a miniature slime girl (rather less odd that way. Then again, Japan).
  16. Forge, Those Guys "Retreating it is, then!" Forge says, waiting for the others before she begins to rush. She also summons a few small discs of metal, and sends them out along the path - and one towards the opponent - in order to scout it out and make sure no other obvious traps await.
  17. "Do video games count?" Hikari asked - it was hard to tell if she was serious or joking. Then she smiled. "I have the idea. Turn off the safety, point it at your target and pull the trigger. Keep the safety on and the gun unloaded and pointed at the ground unless you want to shoot somebody. Once in a show my character used a gun, and the director paid attention to detail. Everything had to be realistic and that meant teaching the actors and actresses how to use firearms realistically." Hikari said. She looked for the safety, and made sure it was on. "Besides, Ivory's going to be correcting my aim - she'll make sure I don't hit anyone on our side."
  18. Forge - Those Guys Forge barely realized what was happening, until the brightness died down. She looked around. Laser drone thingy. Not good. Gypsy down already. Also not good. He can't fight and while she *can*, the others could do it better. So she made the very creative solution, of scooping Gypsy up in one of the cabinets (directing it with her hands, almost as if conducting and orchestra - she does not need to do this but it helps her focus on the spell) and getting them and herself out of the line of fire.
  19. Forge - Those Guys "...I could just open that, you know that right? It's metal after all. Probably best to open it from a range, in case there's a trap or something." Forge says. If Sense stops his action, she'd try to open the cabinets using her magic - presumably this falls under Manipulation.
  20. Forge - Those Guys Forge follows along quietly, staying near the middle of the group (not in the back - if they got attacked from behind she'd not be able to do her job). She's in her "serious mode", purple eyes surveying the path as the party moves on. She didn't know any of these people, but Merlin had only picked those a certain point along, so she felt confident she could trust their skills.
  21. Hikari glances over the weapons. She tended towards spears, since that was Ivory's area of expertise - but the one she'd had was a weaker one, that didn't seem to apply much in the current situation and they were in a world where the enemies have ranged weapons. Kagari took the revolver, which left the rifle. She was no soldier but she had a vague idea of how to use it, and besides - from a certain perspective, the rifle was the modern day spear. Nobody else seemed to take it, so she picked it up. "Ivory, do you know how to work with this?" she asked to thin air. A voice responded. "...It's odd. It resembles the crossbows of my world, but seems... better in every capacity. I was never a user of ranged weaponry, but if you think you know how it works I should be able to guide it just the same." Hikari picks up the pulse rifle, which is wreathed in a blue glow before disappearing. She nods to herself, now able to call it up when she needs to. Hikari takes the Pulse Rifle.
  22. Going to make a sheet for this. I notice there are few male sheets and do not intend to remedy this fact. A few questions: How does combat, if there is any, actually work? I understand that there will not *be* much, going from the description of the "Supreme Aether", but how would it work if such a situation arised that required it? How do level ups happen? Do they happen as you will it or is there some known criteria for getting more powerful? How many players max?
  23. Hikari, who'd not entered Carnage Form, has no visible weaponry as-is. "Not a problem here. A radio *would* be nice though."
