  1. "I don't kill the problem, I just make it so that the person can actually think about how they feel. Knots are what happens when someone is under so much stress and confusion that they feel emotions for an idea of someone that isn't real. Like if you made an enemy of someone, and forgot that they were a person too. I can kill that corrupted entity, allowing them to decide how they feel about the thing they are really connected to." "I won't say it is wrong to have emotional problems, It is simply my job to help when those problems break people."
  2. Mar looks at the membrane, and strikes it with a rock to test it. The membrane does not react at all. "It will be hard." Mar reacts simply. The prongs, however, look simple enough, already crackling with electricity, the 6 legs look ready for a weapon already. "We could embed them in a steel weapon. Channel the lightning." "What weapon do you want?" "I could also try to use magic, to change it. If you had something in mind."
  3. As the final person leaves, the portal closes. Eyes in the dark accompany the scratching of a pencil on paper.
  4. "I can see people's hearts, and their heartstrings, which are cables connecting people who have emotional connections with one another. If someone's Heartstrings become tangled and confused, they can turn into a knot if put under tension. Knots are emotional entities that feed off of your twisted emotions, pretending to be the thing you once felt for, and warping into a twisted and emotionally charged caricature of them... Usually." "I kill these knots with my Heartstrung sword." Laver shows his weapon, something that looks more in place in a wal-mart toy magazine than being called a weapon, it looks to be made of plastic, with a white cable currently wrapped around it. "That cable around my Heartstrung Sword is an Accord, A physical Heartstring, I get these by making emotional connections with people, by doing my job and helping them."
  5. The Strike Team throws Mot a bandage, healing him up. Halley uses Scold, preventing it from using duplicate Actions! Morgan uses Teleport Splicer, dealing 57 Damage! The monster screams, collapsing to the ground. Bridget fires on the vulnerable creature, dealing 17 Damage to it's core! It falls still. The Researcher slowly stands to his feet, While the Strike Team Whoops and Hollers, generally celebrating their survival. The Portal Re-opens, allowing Travel Back home. The Foxy Leader of the group approaches the gang. "I have to thank you for your help, I don't know how you knew to come, but we were in a lot of trouble if you folks hadn't shown up." "Looks like your ride is here. My name is Fox Mccloud, of Starfox, We will remember this, should we meet again." He shakes someone's hand, and hands over a small gift, before going back to his own group. Loot! The Researcher approaches, generally snively. "Uh, are you people leaving? All of my companions have been killed, and I cannot afford to have the Starfox team airlift me off this godforsaken rock."
  6. The Strike Team tries another grenade, but the Lightning Consumes it, causing it to prematurely Detonate! Halley provokes the Gamma Metroid, sending it into a frothing rage! Morgan begins charging Teleport Splicer. Bridget Doubles Morgan's and Her own RES for two turns! Mot Attacks with a basic attack, which glances harmlessly off, but heals him regardless! The Lightning begins to die down, eventually dissipating entirely! The monster rears back, and flies into another charge! Combat Log
  7. The Strike Team backs up, seeing the much more dangerous threat, They throw another grenade underneath the monster, (DICE) Dealing less damage than before... Halley Fires her Paralizer, But it has little effect, the Creature DOES spark with electricity though. Morgan Defends himself. Bridget Fires 5 Magic Arrows! (1d4 = 4, 2, 3, 4, 3) Only two of them even hit, but they hit harder than she would expect! Dealing (1d4+8 = 1+8, 2+8) 19 Damage! Mot prepares to retaliate against anyone who attacks Morgan! The Gamma Metroid obliges, firing a stream of lightning at Morgan, and dealing (DICE) No damage, as he dodges out of the way! It takes 4 Damage in pure damage as this happens! Mot retaliates, (1d4=1) but fails to hit it's vulnerable soft nugget! The Stream of lightning continues, locking it's next turn, but negating Ranged Non-Basic Attacks! Combat Log
  8. The Strike Team throws a deflector in front of Mot, seeing the monster about to charge again! They also fire a Heavy Blaster Round at it, (DICE) (1d3=2) But it fails to hit it's underside! Halley's Basic Attack is wholly ineffective... Morgan attempts to use Teleport Splicer, and succeeds in reaching the monster's unprotected belly! (2d10+8=11+8=19) 47 Damage! The Metroid Reels back as it's membrane spills vital fluid! It tries to do something... (DICE) But Fails. Bridget fires her Mythral Buster, the beam of energy strikes the Metroid, (1d3=1) But it's shell completely redistributes that energy! It tries to do something... (DICE) But fails. Mot does a sick wheelie, ramming into the Metroid (1d3=3) and Slams into it's underside! His Ordinary Basic Attacks, however, are ineffective! He recovers 5 Health in the process. The Metroid disreguards Mot as the Primary Threat. It Regards Morgan as the Primary Threat! Unable to attack, the Metroid does the only other thing it can do, and begins growing. Sickening Cracks erupt from it's carapace as it's stubby legs grow into long spines and manipulators. It easily doubles in size. With it's shed carapace and reorganized nucleus, it shrugs off previously afflicted status effects. Combat Log
  9. The Strike Team does something to the fox guy's leg, tacking it back together, and recovering health. They also seem to be breaking out the heavier weapons, and boosting their attack power. Halley Scolds the monster, preventing it from using the same move twice in a row! Morgan begins charging something powerful. Bridget begins charging something powerful. Mot stares the monster right in the eyes, daring it. The creature recognizes Michael Mot as the greater threat, and Rams into him, smashing him into a wall and dealing (DICE) 20 Damage! It Screeches in triumph, getting ready to charge again! Combat Log
  10. The creature easily ignores all of the attacks made on it, and with one eartshattering blow, crashes through the door, throwing some fox guy to the ground instantly, the crunch of bone is definitely heard, but his face betrays nothing as he throws a grenade under the monster. A hologram quickly flashes, long enough to show the creature scans, before disappearing from his badge. "It can only be harmed by extreme trauma to it's underside! Normal attacks won't even slow it down!" He shouts as one of his allies pulls him up and drags him back, before the explosion causes it to recoil in pain. After being knocked back a mere few meters, it charges with renewed vigor and malice. Despite Flying, this creature's underside is not an easy target, it will take more than aim to hit it correctly. Combat Log
  11. (DICE) Halley runs forward, through the metal hall, down the stone mine, and finally, encounters something a bit off, strange hieroglyphics, interwoven with what is clearly advanced technology. Bah, no time to wait, She continues down the only path available, passing by the cracked open panels and exposed wires bleeding blue plasma all over the floor, and follows the sound of vworping blasters and horrible screeches. Finally, she reaches something of interest after about 2 minutes of running and weaving, a group of anthropomorphic animals barricading a door while a massive flying monster wedges it's head into the cracks of said door, it won't hold for even a minute longer, and the blaster fire pumped into that crack does nothing at all to the monster's armored head. In the corner, some human in what appears to be military, or perhaps mercenary armor, cowers quite loudly. "The exit is on the other side of the door, We're trapped! Oh god..." -- Meanwhile, Morgan does the same thing, after seeing Halley follow the Extremely loud noises and single path.
  12. Suddenly, the Portal to Evil, a creation of that one orc dude, opens. Good Luck! The Portal opens to reveal a metal hallway, sparks fly from electronic panels, the hall stretches on forward, clearly showing a path of destruction. The metal hall quickly changes to underground stone, wires tacked to the stone walls, torn to ribbons, Puddles of acid Hiss loudly, and blaster fire can be heard in the distance. Suddenly, a screech unlike any other rings out. Those who hear it might feel they will never forget it.
  13. "The Soldier and Thief speak the truth, those bugs are much more of a threat than individuals like yourself would be able to handle. You were all lucky to survive. My only regret is that you caused them to stir before I could find their source That ship they have infested is my own I had been surveying the land of Green Greens, when apparently, shadowbugs still remained Those creatures were once the fuel for a war on our world, one which sought to devour it to grow his own terrible power." "The golden machine you saw was the Heavy Lobster, so long as it's control mechanism is not compromised, it won't be a problem to any of you." "A steel capsule? So this was sabotage." He grunts. "Wario, Speed up, I fear our time grows shorter, The world may be threatened once more, if my fears bear any fruit." The other fellow, Wario, apparently, Speeds up the machine, jerking slightly. You are nearing the source of the smoke, it appears to be a collosium, with a village and port surrounding it.
  14. The hovering vehicle begins to rise, and then, to zoom off, taking the party towards the smoke in the distance. Green Grass whizzes by, as do flowers. The Figure in yellow motorcycle gear scratches his behind, chuckling to himself quietly as he pilots the vehicle. The masked man, wrapped in his cloak, looks over the party, before beginning to speak. "Who are all of you, and why were you in the Halberd? I had meant to clear it out, when I found you all instead."
  15. "Don't worry, It's my job!" Laver replies simply and vaguely, scratching his head with a closed eye grin.
  16. "Anything I can strike. Even Magic and Water can be turned to solid shards with a single sharp blow from a magic wreathed weapon or stone." Mar nods. -- Dackly walks in with Gozer, Cackling over her new aquisition, a brand new Crackpot! this one is so much better too. The reek of magic wafts off the crazed gorgon, due to her intense usage of the Lab previously.
  17. After a while of the masked warrior staring off towards the smoke, something approaches, a Hovering Vehicle that looks like it was intended for cargo. It glides in smoothly, and is piloted by a Moustached fat man in yellow garb. "Our ride is here. Come, we can discuss more on the way, and we can explain to one another precisely what is going on..." The masked man claims, stepping aboard.
  18. "I can keep hitting you with my healthy stick, if you like." Laver jokes, waving around his sword.
  19. "The most important thing is that you try to understand your feelings, why you are feeling them, and how you feel about those feelings." "Repressing negative emotion causes problems, it usually does not solve them." "You won't be alone in the recovery phase though, certainly. Myself and the others will be more than willing to help you with any relapses or backslides, where possible."
  20. "Cut out some fear, re-set some freedoms, stimed some bleeding, and killed a Knot that called itself Doomfist inside your heart." "All in all, a simple procedure, mam, no alcohol or strenuous emotion for 3-8 weeks and you should be in very good shape."
  21. "As easy as rocket science!" Laver says with a facade of bravado, looking on with a blossoming happiness at seeing Lexiel's heart beginning to heal. His new Accord looks pretty snazzy too, as he holds up his heartstrung sword, the words written along it's cable shine through. “See the world, not as it is, but as it could be.” He promptly uses it to bap Marisa on the head, healing her up to the best of his ability.
  22. "Yeah, I think it gives me some kind of mana pool, or something, like a pool I can draw from instead of just a power I can call on, if that makes sense." "It also seems to have a few spells built in, like one that summons up chains, and a fire blast." "I'm going to get a lot of use out of this Accord, I can tell you right now!" "And I know exactly what I want to test it on." He points his sword right at the Knot that has caught his eye, one that seems to be empowering a lot of other knots.
  23. Laver gets up, rested. "I don't know about you, but I am itching to test out my new Accord, Witch's Brew!" He draws his Heartstrung sword, instead of a hose, this time it has a belt wrapped around it's pullies, and that belt is covered in heavy sacks, stuffed to the brim with magical reagents, pentagrams, starbursts, and magic swirls dance off of the new Accord. "With this accord, I think I'll really be able to help you with at least one of your knots. since I can get Marisa's Help with it now." "It looks so cool!" He admires the physically manifested Heartstring.
  24. "In my own world, Wizards and other magic users do indeed have means by which to perform magic without channeling, hence why I called my own method crude. There are those that can turn any mana to any goal, using special methods that I am unaware of. I have been interested for a long while in attempting to learn another method of magic, to turn my own rougher methods to a more precise and predictable school." "My other ability, as mentioned, are the Stonerist Arts, which I am sure you most certainly could learn. I have been trained since youth to be able to crack objects such as stone in various ways, which, through my 10 years of study, have allowed me to now take the role of elder. I am able to crack anything I can strike into any shape or form, to extreme levels of precicion. My most common parlor trick is to crack a common rock into a perfectly carved rose."
  25. "I am not surprised you have not heard of the name, but I am surprised if you have no equivalent, Channeling in my world is the simple art of summoning up raw mana, and forcing it through material to change it's attunement." Mar summons up a blob of pure mana, and, opening up one of the suitcases, takes out a perfect synthetic ruby, pushing mana through it, the mana turns red, and ignites the air around it. "Every element, compound, and molecule in my world has an attunement associated with it, and one can pass mana through one material after another to obtain even more attunement types." "A more complex example, for instance, if I pass Thaumic, or mana directly from my soul, through Galvinium, Silicon, Oilystone, then Lensite, in that order, the mana resulting from this creates a form of light which fuels anything it touches, so long as what it touches consumes fuel." "It is both the crudest and most fundamental form of magic in my world, and Channeling and Attunement are the foundation of countless organic processes and magical powers." "The more substances I gain access to, and the more Magical Formulae I record, the broader my Channeling becomes."
