  1. "Well, it's highly resistant to corrosive agents, wear and tear, it has countless applications in machinery and magecraft, and... a-and......." At the deafening huffing from the creature behind Law, his voice peters out and his back stiffens. Paralyzed with Fear, Law's brain digs up the old caveman backup plans, "----- or flight" It seems the first part of the title was scratched out...
  2. "I have something." Law fishes around in his robes until he withdraws an orange Can. If it weren't for the runes deeply embossed on it's surface, one might mistake it for a soda can. "Green Eco, a substance originating from the Precursors, it can heal wounds and cleanse illness." "The canister is Precursor Metal, it's quite useful in countless ways. Both of these are incredibly useful, but I only receive so much of them from my patrons at a time."
  3. Law, Meanwhile, constructs 10 androids, their smooth and thin bodies almost skeletal in the bright light. He hooks them up to a table for power, and allows Orion to have at it. After that, he decides to approach Lilly, merely listening in on their conversation.
  4. "Well if it isn't Mitsuru, I've been great, got invited to some kind of weird contest." He comments, shrugging with a wink.
  5. "Brock Bragburg, I'm glad to meet y'all." "Looks like there's a lot of competition already, I better keep on my toes then, heh." He says, smiling innocently.
  6. "And I will stay h-here, and not go into a sealed tunnel full of darkness and horror." Law mutters, more for his own sake than anyone else's.
  7. "We cannot leave her here regardless. She would be ripped to shreds by local wildlife, which contradicts the purpose of using A Softening Gaze instead of a sword to the stomach." Gozer states simply.
  8. "Yup yup yup. All it would take is a Petrifactive Gaze and we would once again have a very angry woman with a very large lance bearing down on us instead of Squeaks' here." Dackly says, crossing her arms and nodding firmly with a closed eye.
  9. "As a matter of fact, I'm responsible for it." Dackly gestures to the now harmless Lancer. "My Gorgon's Gaze is powered by emotion, and when a victim's life force is too weak to resist, they succumb to it's effects, even if they don't have a scratch on them." "Lancer here has suffered from my Soften, an ability that can fill a target with the power of love, softening them up until..." "Well, Soft things are rarely dangerous, even if they try to be, Feh Feh Feh!" She cackles, hopping down from Gozer's back. "Victims of her power are unable to defend themselves, rendering further combat unnecessary." "How this is done can be suspect, as you see." Gozer says. Walking closer to the plush. "Those who have the heart of a true hero are immune to my Petrifying Gaze, which is required to enact my Softening one. If she had been Braver and more Stalwart, I would have been helpless in this combat." "Or if she had a damn mirror."
  10. Dackly looks as smug as can be, her charge atop Gozer slowing, and then stopping. "So it did work... That Fearlessness honestly had me terrified for a moment there..." She says, her grin widening as she stows her weapon.
  11. Dackly Lashes out with her stone rapier, dealing 5d4+7 Pure Damage! Gozer uses Gozer Dozer to ram into Lancer, dealing 1d6+7 Damage, and forcing a Str v Str check against interrupting charged actions! "This is it, the final round! Feh Feh Feh!" Dackly cackles from atop Gozer as they charge at lancer. She draws her rapier, the first weapon she's drawn this fight, and flourishes it, it hums with an unholy purple light. Equipment Loadout
  12. "Naturally, all I need is their measurements and your preferences, and I'll punch em in!" Law goes over to the interface for the machine, a series of interwoven symbols made of metal that he presses down, seemingly at random.
  13. Law's hair stands on end at the thought of having to deal with dark tunnels full of unknown creatures. "Ahh, well, uhh." "Right, s-sounds interesting!" Law says, desperately hoping that he isn't the only expert on ancient artifacts suffused with strange energies. Surely not!..
  14. "The better the materials we start with, the better results we will get. I can only print fairly standard circuitry right now." "B-but yeah, we can give it a try." Law says, warming up the alloy printer
  15. "The smarter it is, the higher the risk. A low grade A.I. with removable memory c-could work."
  16. "U-uhh, That'... That's a terrible idea." "An A.I. Copy, Given intelligence, insanity, and the potential for magic are NOT something you threaten with deletion." Law looks nervous. More, that is.
  17. "I'm of the mind that a computer can do anything that can be done, within that computer's limitations. The screens, the Loaderbots, even ORION themselves. Computers are responsible for all of that." "It starts with logic gates, and binary." Law reshapes his multitool into a stand with transparent floating images made of metal attached by wire to one another. "A computer is made of parts that make various decisions based on whether you tell it yes, or no. For most computers, electricity is yes, and no electricity is no." "A Logic gate is what does this. This is an AND gate." Law's diagram turns into a specific shape of lines. "This will "say yes" to what it is connected to, if everything connected to it, also says yes." "An OR gate will say yes if anything connected to it says yes." "An XOR gate will say yes if only one thing connected to it says yes." He finally turns the diagram into some kind of machine. "There are components that do things such as turn, or burn, or emit light of many colors when electricity is fed into them. So by making electricity only flow into them when the computer tells it to, you can create machines. There are many types of Logic Gate, and using those in tandem with various sensors and components allow even things as amazing as machines as small as cells, or as large as planets." "Even a living brain is a computer of a certain kind. One that is exceptionally complex, and born of nature, rather than science. It asks itself questions, and those answers shape thinking beings." "W-well, not counting the soul, Souls are a matter all their own, I'm sure you k-know."
  18. "A computer is a device that does math automatically, it can also take actions based on the results of that math." Law gestures to his alloy printer. "This device takes the numbers I put into it, and moves itself into positions based on those numbers, and excretes metal based again on those numbers." "An AI then, is an intelligent being whose thoughts are formed of math made to emulate thought."
  19. "I-it's right in the name ma'm." "An Artificial Intelligence is a thinking being that was created, rather than born. Usually some kind of computer."
  20. "Well, I could probably design a circuit that cooperates with others like it. Then we just use quantity over quality to increase the computer's intelligence, and remove damaged chips as needed." "A base circuit design that fits the bill would help me develop such a thing, but I'm sure I can d-devise something."
  21. "W-well sure, my alloy printer could print replacement circuits for it, but it would be slow if it had to make one complex enough to handle that influx of information, and the materials to make it last very long would come at a fair cost." Law contemplates.
  22. "Ahh, w-well, I just used up my last piece of precursor metal, but I'm sure I could whip up something for that." "It probably won't last very long without some kind of m-metamaterials, though, or just clever design." "I've got an Alloy Printer over there that can melt and microforge whatever we need." He gestures to the mechanical arm, currently clamped to the side of the workbench. A hopper in the top is empty. -- The rat-thing freezes up entirely at the imposing giant of a man offering him special steel. Special Dark Steel. "uhh sure."
