  1. Hey Guys! What's up? It's your big brother Godot here! In this thread, I will be sharing with you guy's character specific tips on strategies, combos, stage control and more. Today we will be talking about the Shining Mouse Pokemon, Pikachu! Pika! Pikachu is a fast character who has a mixed play style of Space Control and Rushdown. One major difference in this iteration of the game is that Large, Tanky Powerhouse characters like Bowser and Donkey Kong are actually A THREAT. Those characters might actually be dominant and be considered to be OP for a while, which isn't true at all. Pikachu has all the tools that you need to keep these big guys at bay. Remember to pick the right moment before you charge in and try going for the kill. Let's go over some of Pikachu's core and basic moves and have a better understanding of them so that you will know how to do so! Thundershock (Neutral B ) : Thundershock isn't different at all in this version of smash, it still has it's weird bouncy-ness to it. It is a decent tool for dealing with Mid Ranged fights and keeping people off of the stage. There isn't anything worth noting about this move except that it is mostly safe to spam over and over again. Thunder (Down B ): This move is really really different! Pikachu's thunder doesn't reach as high up or have nearly as much damage, knock back, or kill potential as previous iterations of the character. Throwing out Pikachu's Thunder now takes good strategy and skill... GASP. It still functions as a decent overhead attack thing on stages with platforms, but everything else you know about the move is quite different. The Lightning Bolt itself isn't anything special, but the Thundercloud and the discharge animation Pikachu goes under when the Lightning his him are your main focal points on this character. The Discharge has Kill Potential and the Thundercloud "spikes" the opponent! It can be used as an anti air, but I personally found the Thunder Cloud spike to be most useful for chaining and performing combos. Which I will go into more detail about later. Skull Bash (Side B ): This move also seems to feel relatively unchanged. I personally found it to be more of a useful recovery than an actual attacking move. I often forget that it is even there. Quick Attack (Up B ): THIS is where it is at! Pikachu's Quick Attack is a fairly good recovery, but there is more usability of this move than just surviving. This special gives Pikachu an insane ground game! It is a great tool for helping Pikachu get from point A to point B crazy fast! Quick Attack also now can hit and stun the opponent for a short amount of time. You will want to practice using your Up B to launch pikachu side ways or diagonal in the direction that you want to go, and use the second dash animation to go straight into the ground. This is called a Quick Attack Cancel. Pikachu can use this technique to push aggression on the opponent, evade and get away from the opponent, or "get there first". Once you master this move, your Pikachu will be hella insane. Quick Attack Cancels require an Intermediate skill level to master. Ground Game: Pikachu controls space with his thunder shocks and pokes from a distance. He can also immediately snap into play with his quick attack cancels. He still has his super spammy Jab, but his tilts and throws are where it is at! His Forward Tilt is a decent poking tool, Pika can use this to attack his opponent at a safe distance. His down tilt also is decent at poking and sweeping shielding opponents. The down tilt also has the ability to trip the opponent, though not 100% guarentee'd. (pray to Hax) Take advantage of the Trip to set up your combos and juggles to get good damage! Lastly is Pikachu's gift from god up tilt. It has insane juggle and combo potential! At lower percentages you will be trying to hit the opponent with this move as much as possible. Pikachu also has some pretty good grab and throw moves, my personal favorite is his up and down throw. His Down throw can set up combo and juggle opportunities at low percentages, or set up for Combos and KOs at higher percentages. His Up throw is decent for getting your opponent airborne, which I will go into later. His back throw is also decent for getting your opponent offstage, or get a cheap kill on walk off stages. Lastly is Pikachu's Smash attacks and Dash attack. His Up Smash is good for combos and his down smash is good for punishing opponents. I actually found myself not wanting to use Pikachu's down smash all in this version of this game. Pikachu's Side Smash is one of his best methods of KO-ing the opponent, but landing it isn't always easy. Using it to punish someone who is offstage or tripped up by your down tilt often works pretty well. Lastly is Pikachu's dash attack. All I have to note is that it has a surprising amount of knock back. This move can get your opponent off the stage or even possibly KO them at surprising rates. I found myself relying on this attack to KO my opponent more than my smash attacks. Air Game: Pikachu's Air game is mostly around his combos. He has 4 good methods of getting people into the air to combo. His up tilt, up smash, up throw, and down throw. Pikachu can also quick attack cancel back into the ground when he is finished juggling or comboing people in the air. He can also use Quick attack to get back to the ground if he feels unsafe. Pikachu has virtually no Kill power in the air, but all of his aerials have amazing combo potential. Neutral Air is good for getting a good quick hit. It is also good for ending low percentage combos. Up Air is a good Juggle tool for keeping your opponent in the air at higher percentages. When you land this attack raw, you can hit the opponent at least twice in succession. Forward Tilt and Back Tilt are good for getting damage in and finishing air combos. I find myself using the back tilt the most, both attacks will actually lock your opponent into place and continuously damage them until Pikachu finishes the attack animation. Last is his Down Tilt, I don't really have much to say about it. It seems decent to use, but it has nothing really special surrounding it that caught my attention. Whenever I am airborne with Pikachu, I am normally juggling people with my up tilt or finishing a combo with my Fair, Dair, and Nair. Pikachu is happiest when on the ground. He even smiles and everything! Off Stage: I didn't really see Pikachu having much of an off stage presence. I normally found myself just waiting for people to get back to the stage before I would start harassing them again. Attacking people off stage tended to feel risky with him. Especially since he has no good off stage attacks with the exception of his Back air. Pikachu's back air is good for dragging people off stage, but I don't find it reliable in the slightest bit. The attack is crazy risky and easy to dodge. If your opponent goes offstage, your best bet is to thundershock spam until they get back on. COMBOS!: Anyone that knows me knows that I love me some Combos! Smash is kinda weird though. In other fighting games, smash combos would be referred to as Resets. Before I go off topic, here are some combos and different ways to get a combo off of your opponent. Pro Tip: Pikachu's Down Tilt's Trip can be a god send for getting a combo opportunity. Combo from Uptilt: Pikachu can Land Raw Up Tilts once or twice. Once the opponent is airborne Nair at low percentages, Fair if the opponent DI's forward, Bair if the opponent DI's backward. If your opponent is at high percentages, you can Up air to put them into a juggle state and give you the ability to harass them in the air. Combo from Up Smash: Same as above, but try using this attack at higher percentages instead. Up Smash also has decent kill power at higher percentages. Combo from Down Throw: Down Throw can be followed up with an up tilt immediately at lower percentages. Both with the tilt and without it, you can set up the same air opportunities from above. If your opponent is around 100% or kill percent. You can combo down throw into your Down B if you can read your opponent right. If you do this, it is a super stylish flashy KO move. Salty opponents may rage quit after being hit by this combo. Combo from Up Throw: Before I say Copy and Paste the above, one unique advantage Up Throw has is that at moderate percentages, you can combo it into Thunder and get a fair amount of damage on the opponent. Lastly, Use Quick Attack Cancels to set up good combo opportunities. Or end your combos by Quick Attacking toward he ground, that way you can set up your next move immediately afterward. That is all I have for today. But if you guy's have anything to add or ask, feel free to do so! This is Glorious Godot, signing out.
  2. I just realized an option labeled "enable Clans" ... You can find an option on the clan page saying "set to Playstation/Xbox Clan" If you guys select it, you get a Guardians of Reborn and Pokemon Clan tag to show in the game.
  3. I heard some say "everyone who sucked in previous smash games are amazing now" I heard that Ness's buffs are fantastic. Mewtwo Douche King stated that he believes that Bowser, Zero Suit Samus, and Duck Hunt God are the best that the game has to offer.
  4. I love how megaman plays... I might post a "how to combo and set up" post later.
  5. Guys... I just made a deal with the devil... *starts playing smash 4*
  6. I watched a rather good full match of N's Castle. What I saw... When the Castle appears, these stair/ladder things from the castle branch out and turn the arena into a temporary walk off stage Reshiram will appear and set the stage on fire. Zekrom will appear and bolt the stage causing it to tilt and look like this: __-----**** Milotic will appear and... uh... look pretty? Also, my opinions on Pac-Man are constantly changing... He looks OP as fuck.
  7. Koopa Kid's move set: My impressions; I refer to them as the Koopa Kids rather than Bowser jr. Because that is exactly what the character is. The character changes visually when you change their look. They are even referenced by the announcer as individuals, despite just being different skins for the same character. The koopas have good Zoning tools and hard hitting moves making them a mix of power and zoning play syles. They also remind me a bit of Tron Bonne from the MvC games. The reason why is because she fought in her robot, Gusto, and the Koopa Kids fight in the Koopa Klown Kar, aka the KKK. Though they seem slow, they have a decent amount ranged tools like the cannon and Koopa bots. This allows them to play defensively or space people out to their liking. They also have hard hitting attacks to punish people who approuch them in a clumsy manner. I also noticed that their grab range kinda sucks. So you might not want to rely on it. The final smash looks amazing and the X moves with the screen. So if the screen zooms in and out or pans around, the X will move with it. Lastly, after playing Mario Kart 8 I have grown rather fond of Roy Koopa. Though I like the idea of Roy being a playable character in the game, I don't like the idea of playing him in the clown car. I am also mixed about the fact that bowser jr. Is in the clown car vs. Fighting on foot with the paint brush.
  8. Dr. Mario's complete move set: Dr. Mario is essentially Mario with his Melee move set. He looks hella cool and fun despite not being the best choice for a clone character. I love his intro, victory poses, and Taunts. Mario is going to be hella good and fun in this version of the game. Banjo and Kazooie's Duck Hunt Dog's complete move set: DHD is not going to be top tier, but he can definitely hold his own. His zoning tools look amazing for controlling space and keeping his opponents off of the stage. As a heads up, his neutral B and Side B can be detonated any time he wishes! Those moves are the outlaw and the "kick the can" move. Imagine how annoying it will be to fight these guys when they have all of that shit on the stage. I love his animations and his smash attacks are hella creative! Pac-Man on N's Castle: Cool stage and music! And then there is Pac himself, he is looking pretty sweet actually. His Side B where he draws the pac-dots and eats them looks hella powerful. As well as his fire hydrant and fruit. They look like great gimping and zoning tools. He has some good looking Normals as well. And not damn those smash attacks look great! I also love how his grab has the Galaga rays. As for his final smash... It looks cool, but is meh in utility. An online match The match starts to chug towards the end, but it runs pretty well being that this an American gamer in California Smashing with Japanese players. I also love Lucario's new look and animations. He looks much faster and more powerful.
  9. Smash 4 demo for North American and European people persons next Friday. You can test out Mario, Link, Pikachu, Megaman, and the Villager on both regular and Final destination variations of Battlefield.
  10. Chuckles, the ps4 has a built in capture device. I upload mine to a private message board on Facebook and post them from there.
  11. Eagleby, how would that make sakurai a liar if the last four are only UNLOCKABLE on wii u. Remember they sync up... The rumor also says that Duck Hunt, dr. Mario, Dark pit, and Bowser jr are only unlockable on 3DS. Kinda sounds like Pokemon and their version exclusive creatures. The Melee Veteran: Dr. Mario/Mewtwo The clone: Dark Pit/Dixie Kong The nice to have newcomer: Koopa kids/ Chorus kids The bomb shell character: Duck Hunt God/ laser spitting space dragon. I also want to point out that the character roster, Stage Selection, and Assist Trophy lists are both labeled "completed" when they actually aren't. The character selection screen is still a cluster fuck and should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/PliZwku.png There is a stage missing in the character select screen. Both new and old assist trophies (minus little Mac) are said to be completed, but are still missing. On top of the fact that most of those missing assist trophy's game franchises and voice actors are credited in the games ending credits. There is a ton of inconsistencies that tells me that there is more to this game than we think there is. We still have the Wii U version, Amiibo, and potential DLC. One last statement I have to make about the final four is "if they aren't playable, then where are they?" Ridley, Chorus kids, Mewtwo, and Dixie are all not featured as Stage hazards, Assist Trophies, or even straight up collectible trophies. Also, the main leaker who stated that they were in the game ONLY PLAYED THE 3DS version. He said that they have fully functioning models, he just hasn't played them yet... The leaker is from Europe, Nintendo of japan had sent out only the full 3DS version for Europe and North America to test and Debug. We don't actually know that much about the Wii U version when we think about it. Nintendo tree house said that they had full roster "mock up game" back in June that they were very closed doors on. The leaker might have seen the entire roster, but wasn't able to test out or try everything that there was to offer. That is why he only had information on Duck Hunt, Bowser Jr., And Shulk. Because everything he told us was 100% on point outside those last 4 characters. Remember he revealed this information to spite Nintendo, not to spite us.
  12. The rumor is that the final 4 can only be unlocked on the wii u. Also http://youtu.be/ztCNNY8ivsI
  13. Rob has a virtual boy recolor Greninja has a Mewtwo recolor Charizard has a Ridley recolor. Ddd and rob have new final smashes GG No Ridley, Dixie, Ice Climbers, Lucas, Mewtwo, Chorus Men, Isaac, or Impa... Yet...
  14. I need more Ridley in my life.

  15. Things I noticed... Ike as a recolor that makes him look like Chrom. Lucina has a Recolor that makes her look like Tiki. LIl' Mac has a Super Nintendo Recolor. Shiek has an Impa Recolor Bowser Jr. and Duck Hunt Dog are both zoning characters. If you change Bowser Jr. or Olimar to their Alt skins, The announcer will call them by name: Ie. Iggy, Alph, Morton. Bowser Jr. Does infact have alt skins for every single alt based off of the koopa kids. Duck Hunt Dog throws Propane tanks and Discus and has the gunner shoot them. He can also summon an Outlaw from sheriff to attack the opponents. His Smash Attacks involve the Duck and Dog dodging Gun Fire. It looks funny and is hella creative. DHD's final smash is simular to captian falcons, but instead of running them over with the Blue Falcon, he summons a Flock of ducks. The cinematic portion involves the dog standing behind a group of Outlaws laughing his ass off as they gun the victim down. Bowser Jr.'s Final smash turns him into Shadow Mario.
  16. Who is having fun? Any cool pictures to show us? Here is a couple from me. I am the Guardian holding the Flag. The Raid boss in the 2nd Strike missions... My teammates kept dying >< Pro Tip: After defeating this guy, there is a second platform hidden at the end of the hall. It contains a Golden Chest that can only be opened by your character once.
  17. Looks like Wally get's Mega Gallade, Maxie get's Mega Camerupt, and Archie get's Mega Sharpedo. Mega Camerupt get's Sheer Force which is good in combination with Lava Plume and Earth Power. Mega Sharpedo gets Strong Jaw. Protect turn one to get your speed boost, then Mega Evo. Spam Crunch and Ice Fang. Primal Kyougre also has a new ability called Sea of Beginnings, which I predict grants pre-Gen VI Rain. and Primal Groudon has both a New Signature attack and New Ability. They are called Cliff Blade and Land of Endings. Cliff Blade sounds like a Ground type stone edge or leaf blade. While Land of Endings sounds like pre Gen VI Sun. Gallade has different Blade Arms and this cape thing. Which is fitting being that he is based off of the heroes portrayed in Shakesphere Plays. I was never the biggest fan of this pokemon, so this news is "meh" to me. I honestly think Mega Gallade's Design is a bit underwhelming. I also find this design to be a bit reminiscent of Hawlucha. Sharpedo looks even more like a Torpedo... that is okay I guess. It doesn't look bad, I am just not blown away by it's design. Edit: Seeing it from a different angle, it actually reminds me more of a Submarine. When I first saw this, I was like "where is it's feet?" then I noticed the little black hooves afterwords XD. This is probably my favorite out of the 3 designs. Mega Camerupt is both silly and kinda cool. That Volcano is a really nice touch and has some really good looking detail on it. But in the end, I just can't take this pokemon seriously, it looks goofy as all hell XD.
  18. No, but a Demo that lets you play as Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Megaman hit the japanese eShop. Today's picture of he was of the title screen saying that we can expect a Worldwide demo soon. Being that we get the game in about 3 weeks, I assume it will either come out this THursday when the eShop Updates, or in the next week or two.
  19. QQ I wanna play with youuuuuuu
