I have to agree here. I mean it's like your rooting for him to fail and that's not really helping anyone. The game provides enough info to be able to beat it on a first try but most of us learned through trial and error over that...or there was no guide for fun times if your that old. All you guys are talking about is wiping on Shelly. She's not the most impossible thing ever. Personally, I'm rooting for T-tar to try his best and enjoy the journey which has been really fun. It reminds me a bit of early days Shofu which was a blast.
Hell, I actually hope he destroys Shelly just to spite all of you saying he will wipe. I've never seen someone so excited about Pulse Tangrowth so he's grown on me after being skeptical knowing the two runs I followed...ending...on bad notes let's put it.
You know, you're right, I was being kind of a jerk about it. I was actually super impressed that he didn't lose anyone to Julia. It's entirely possible that the support of his yt commenters and Twitter fans might actually be enough to pull him through.
I really do want to see his reaction to Reborn's "good bits". The deaths, the gangs, the Pulses, how beautifully effed up every gym leader is... early shofu was before my time, but I feel like this is the best press we've gotten in a while.

Yeah I think if you're at the point of knowing to use fake out to prevent the rain and take out Illumise, you've gone beyond bruteforcing it haha
That's exactly what I mean. You need a plan to either prevent the rain or exploit it, or else rockslide anorinth grinds your entire team to dust.
As I was writing my earlier comment, I thought "hey, I kinda brute-forced it in the rain with Power Gem Ampharos..." But then I remembered that I specifically trained a Swift Swim Aqua Jet Floatzel to nuke down Anorinth before it could act, and even then Aquaranid made it kinda iffy.
-
Yeah she's really the reality check for a reborn run. You brute-force up to shelly. you cannot brute force shelly.

In actual in game online battles it's too niche without something like Slaking to partner it with. In an environment like VGC or Showdown where there's a more established "meta" it could be better if there's specific, commonly used abilities you want to nullify, e.g. weather setters or form changers.
-
True. My money's still on Shelly though. Anorinth and Aquaranid are terrors in the rain.
-
Glass gauntlet? Isn't that near the end of the game rn? I feel like something else will get him before that.

Loved this episode. I love how quickly T3 caught on to ZEL, even if he wasn't totally correct. Also his reaction to p tangrowth was AMAZING. I literally gained in respect *for a part of the game I liked already* due to this series.

Yeah he's pretty popular, but as a steel main anyway I don't think I can pass up something so directly in my wheelhouse.

Mine is probably
1. Sobble
-Scorbunny is cool but it's also everyone's favorite. I really want to see what Sobble becomes.
2. Corviknight
-I loved Skarmory and this is cooler! Skarmory
3. Duraldulon
-steel. dragon.
4. G!Weezing
-i loved A!Muk, and I always get excited for faries that aren't just the standard "pink and cutesy" fare

I am blissfully unaware of all that spoilered content but I'm gonna go back and take beldum now. Sure the early game will be hell, but Metagross is my absolute favorite Pokemon ever!

You've convinced me to try this game myself!
edit: it is a little sad that you only get one option though. I could kinda tell from the moment the player's mom says "you pick any pokemon that will follow you back", but it's still kinda dissapointing. Togepi is....really not that great.

For what it's worth, smogon's offical Aegislash sets don't reference EV reversing at all.

Thanks a ton, I didn't originally see the south-to-north ledge. Now to train....

I am at Aya's gym, ran into some trouble, and I'd like to head off to level up my Scraggy in order to hopefully give the team some more offensive punch. Problem is, I'm not sure how to leave. I turned the machines near the gym red, went down a ledge, then found an area with more machines...and no way out. thankfully I didn't save while I was there so I wasn't softlocked, but still....how do I leave? Am I stuck here until I beat Aya?

Just caught up, I'm cautiously enjoying this run. I loved hearing his reaction to Florina talking about field effects!
But yeah, Shelly is an oncoming truck and Ttartube has airpods in.
I wonder if he'll get ZEL's deal right off the bat.

Ok, first off: electric terrain bulls sleep for all Pokemon. It's one of the few terrains copied almost wholesale from mainline Pokemon, so you have Game Freak to thank for that.
The other poster covered anorinth
Thirdly, getting awful rng is the Pokemon experience. I basically don't use sleep any more myself, since it's so unreliable.
All that said, that is some godawful luck you've got there. I hope it gets better soon!
P.S. Shelly really gave me trouble too. Her whole gym is designed to thwart traditional bug weaknesses, and it works all too well.

This is an impressive amount of work. I don't know if I'll ever do an electric mono myself, but it's a cunning workaround for a serious problem. Kudos!

according to this leak the bun stays pure fire, despite learning kicks
Also my favorite new pokemon is Corviknight. Combined with Scorbunny and I've got 2/6 of my team down. Also I'm playing Sword definitely because Great Wolf Sif is wayyyyyyy cooler than Shield Doggo.

I'd heard his up-air is actually more similar to Shiek's. Could just be a common template though.
His recovery out of persona is fine imo. It's a tether, but it has an incredible reach. This is not a character that can easily fall too far to recover e.g. Ganon or Mac.

If we do get a "the answer" type questline, I seriously wonder what it would entail. Like, there aren't really any plot threads hanging loose.

One of the things I'd like to point out about the mystery girl's response is that it's actually fairly on-brand for what the PTs are trying to do. Their broader goal is self-actualization, getting people to speak and act against corrupt authority. Thus, making it seem it's the job of the individual does kinda make sense.

Wonderful, I've always wanted to visit england
In contrast to some others here, Pokemon Shield sounds like a pretty cool and inventive name by pokemon standards.
Not sure how much I like Grooky or Sobble, but I love Scorbuny already. Even if it turns out to be fire/fighting, I'll still probably get and use it. Plus, it could be Fire/Electric, since the Direct focused on how energetic it was.

Eh, I feel like as a hate sink he does his job perfectly well. He easily out-Garys Gary. There's never been a time I wasn't super stoked to kick his butt lmao
