  1. Poison fang looks cool. I find it funny coming from that hitmonlee, which doesn't have a mouth.
  2. I just hope this Magiana will have good stats and a nice ability. Especially since Volcanion is just a Heatran clone with worse overall bulk and a slightly poorer defensive typing, having only Super Scald as a distinction, albiet a significant one.
  3. This seems fun. Here's my contribution: 1. Infernape: Versatile, good for burning and beating up zombies, fast and nimble enough to act as a scout. An extra pair of hands to help is also appreciated. Access to Slack Off allows it to be self-reliant to an extent. 2. Starmie: Fast, Intelligent, can't be crippled by poison or paralysis, acts as fast transport for a getaway and as a device for mass flooding to sweep away zombies. Provides water supply and can use Psychic to manipulate objects. Access to Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Scald and Recover are also good. 3. Clefable: Healer and Cleric that can eat hits and maintain health for self and crew, even though most of this team can use Recover variants themselves. Softboiled also means a supply of food (eggs) for self, in case other sources fail. Also good with other fairy-ish stuff, I guess. 4. Chesnaught: Spiky Shield allows it to protect self and crew from attack. Chesnaught is also very tough and rugged, weathering hits and hitting back hard while recovering itself with its myriad healing moves. 5. Magnezone: You really can't expect me to not have a Magnezone. Apart from being superior, it serves as a means of aviation, a supply of electricity for appliances and can zap zombie hordes. Steel types are good against infectious zombies. Also useful for sending signals, I suppose. 6. Rotom: I really don't need anything else, so Rotom is just a utility member. It can assume various forms to make a post-apocalyptic life easier, with the ability to wash my clothes, cook and store my food, fan me for comfort and even mow a zombie's face off in a pinch. Ghost typing in its regular form also ensures ability to monitor in stealth and be invulnerable to tangible attacks. Makes good use of status moves and technically acts as a backup for other members with a variety of elemental attacks. That's the lot. Oh yeah, they can all also use Protect, and if there's a need for a mega, I'll have myself a Mega Magnezone.
  4. Welcome to Reborn, Yanez. It's wonderful to know another classical music enthusiast! I'm sad to see that there isn't a steel type on that list you have there, but the water types make up for it. Feel free to check out the Showdown server too!
  5. This made my day. Oh, and TFW you see something fun that makes the rest of the day more tolerable
  6. I can't believe I didn't find this sooner. MEGA MAGNEZONE Type: Electric/Steel [unchanged] Ability: Levitate [finally] Atk: 70 Def: 115 Spatk: 160 (+30) Spdef: 110 (+20) Speed: 110 (+ 50) Magnezone has always been one of my favourite mons, but it's a shame that its niche as a steel-trapper is shrinking in today's OU meta with the huge influx (pun intended) of offensive threats that outspeed or outmaneuver it, leaving it unable to utilize its great SpAtk. The horrible weakness to Ground (one of the commonest, if the THE commonest, attacking coverage moves) also renders its acceptable bulk rather exploitable. Magnezone needs a revamp, and what better than a well-deserved mega evolution? Mega Magnezone Gains significant boosts to its SpAtk and SpDef, on par with many other mega pokemon, but most importantly, it finally gains Levitate, which it should have had from the start, (GF logic is bad) and a large boost to its speed along with it, which actually makes sense, since finally being able to get its butt off the ground means that it can fly fast. (Look at Metagross, for a similar justification.) This makes Magnezone very dangerous, as it can retain Magnet Pull pre-mega to switch in on and trap steel types, and proceed to then Mega Evolve and obliterate them with a stronger HP Fire or Thunderbolt, while also gaining greater bulk and a safe mega evolution, along with a speed boost the next turn. The trapped steel types cannot escape on the turn Magnezone mega evolves, so this allows it to do its job while also gaining the benefits of being a fast, hard hitting, bulky special steel type that can finally make use of its godly typing to shrug off attacks from eleven types out of eighteen.
  7. TIL that sitting for even a few minutes under an almond tree in spring is a bad idea. It rains caterpillars.
  8. TFW your dog wakes you up in the morning...at 3:30 a.m.
  9. As a kid, I grew up listening to classical Carnatic instrumental and vocal Ragas, with some exposure to Hindustani and considerable exposure to Western Classical and Baroque. It wasn't until a few years ago that I progressed beyond the 19th Century, haha...but by then my tastes had already been formed.
  10. I also can't help but notice that magiana's chest and gown resemble a pokeball design. Could it be that it 'contains' a pokemon, or has the potential to do so? It might be tied in some way to Primal power, methinks.
  11. It will be very sad if you don't get a magnemite. Good luck on your Nuzlocke, I'm rooting for your magnemite!
  12. what did i just stumble upon Anyway, I don't eat anything that doesn't grow on a plant or can't be safely obtained as a non-injurious animal product, so I am not a carnivore or even an omnivore. I could alternately be considered human, a magnezone or even a plant myself! Please don't eat me, o herbivores. Babiri berries are nasty and taste like steel. *makes defensive plant noises*
  13. The new ward looks so beautiful. It really does feel like Adrienn's persona has been in every part of the restoration. I imagine how frustrated xe would have been to find everyone broken and unwilling to make any repairs of their own, just living any which way with their city polluted and ruined. Also, the new power plant looks fabulous! I hope Julia doesn't try to 'renovate' it herself again.
  14. Sometimes one ought to just step back from work, schedules, obligations, pleasures, pastimes and all other things and just appreciate the state of being. I don't mean that one ought to introspect about themselves or other issues, or be caught up in thought of any kind, be it positive or negative. No, I mean that, sometimes, one can just 'disengage' and view the world, as if from a third-person perspective. Be transparent and untinted by life's various colours, and just...be, if only for a few minutes. TFW you gaze into the sky and think of nothing.
  15. HAHA, no one predicted me to butt in! Erm...anyway...who might be next...shia?
  16. How did I miss this earlier? Anyway, for those who have not yet observed me announce everywhere mention it before, I like the mechanical or only party-bionic Poemon, like Metagross, Starmie, PorygonZ and, most importantly, Magnezone. These are concepts of life forms that are not inherently 'alive' and do not exhibit the usual features of an animal (Starmie, for instance, doesn't have eyes, a mouth, or any other organ, unusual for a franchise where even gases and piles of garbage have features) and yet not only possess sentience but also a very high degree of intelligence. I guess the concept of alien intelligence is fascinating. Also, other common points to note are that I like Pokemon that are Steel or Psychic types, and/or have the ability Analytic, which I am similarly fascinated by.
  17. I never did think much of luck/fate/what-have-you in my life, so I can't really recall many such incidents. But I vividly remember one. When I was a kid, I used to go poking around woods, lakes and beaches on family trips. On one such trip, I found myself alone on a hillock near a coffee plantation, and had unwittingly stumbled upon a king cobra. I know, it sounds fantastic, but I was face to face with what must have been at least a twelve-foot serpent, hood flared and raising a third of itself off the ground so it was looking poor little eleven-year-old me almost eye-to-eye. We both faced each other immobile for a few minutes, when the thing finally lowered itself and slowly slithered away into the underbrush. It was a hugely lucky break from almost certain death, as I later realized. That thing has enough venom in one bite to kill 25 people; I would have been unable to dodge or outpace it, and had it bitten me, I would surely have succumbed to the neurotoxins in that lonely place, far before anyone could have found me. Case in point: no more solo-hikes into remote, wild places. I also see that this thread is going much deeper than Physics finals
  18. Hello, Leon, and welcome to Reborn! I hope you enjoy your stay here which, as you must have known by now, will be permanent and feel free to check out the Showdown server! Also, have a happy birthday!
  19. Welcome back, GotWala. I don't know you, but I'm glad to make your acquaintance. And Reborn has Shadow Tag, it's impossible to leave without returning eventually. I myself had been a lurker for a very long time before joining in. And don't bother about Shia's cake. I already burnt it.
  20. Welcome to Reborn, Allen. I hope you enjoy your stay here; you can also check out the Showdown server to talk to us and tell us more about yourself.
  21. Happy birthday Nasdav! Hope you have a great year ahead!
  22. Hello, Jon, and welcome to Reborn. I'm sure you'll have a good stay here. As already pointed out, feel free to check out the Reborn showdown server for a good chat!
  23. I agree that it is possible to have multiple leaders using the same mega Pokemon, but I think it will not be so for two reasons, viz. mega stones seem to be incredibly rare in this game, with very few available and very few people able to use them. This makes it likely that they are unique. Also, repeating megas seems a tad unoriginal, and that is certainly improbable. Besides, if a repeat were to be made, I'd sooner see Saphira with a Mega Salamence or Mega Garchomp, despite those being generally accepted to be Heather's and Solaris's respective aces. I still think it likely that Saphira will use a Mega Charizard if she uses a mega at all, since the boost to both forms' offensive capabilities is enormous, perhaps too enormous for Saphira to pass up. And it is known that Leaders may be a little...flexible in their teambuilds, since Noel uses a mon that's not even a normal type, while Ciel's ace is not a flying type in its Mega evolved state. Why should it be absurd for Saphira to use a fire-breathing draconic monster, especially one which can certainly be a 'true dragon' in one of its forms? Nor does it seem very in-character for Saphira to use a fluffy peacock or a cuddly sheep-giraffe as her monster of mass destruction. Then again, she uses Derpynite, so it might be possible. Heck, we may even see a Mega Dragonite, who knows?
  24. Welcome to Reborn, Danny. We've already met in the Showdown server, but I'm sure you'll enjoy being active on the forums as well. It also makes perfect sense to be disinterested in Pokemon games after DPPt.
