  2. I think I remember hearing of a similar EXP bug with Ralts, though I don't remember if it was Spork-specific or happens with the Essentials engine. The next reupload is going to be within the next couple hours but I could do more research in the future for what causes it and how to fix. In the meantime if you go into your party, select Lanturn and then Debug, it should bring up a menu where you can change its level so you can get it to where it would've been normally.
  3. When you mentioned fog I personally thought of the fog machines that they have at places like concerts and similar events sometimes, that might work in an arcade too. Since the next reupload is close I've just changed it to a normal screen for now but I think it's worth experimenting with in the future! For the next reupload, although the content is almost done, I'm not able to determine a specific time frame for when it'll release. One reason is that amount of time able to spend working on the game can vary, or something can take more or less time than anticipated. For update checking, there's usually an announcement + reupload every month or every other month, though sometimes can be shorter or longer. I think the most convenient way to know when updates happen is probably following the Spork thread, that way you'll get a notification whenever there's a post!
  4. EDIT: @SjaakBakkerYT King's Shield has been fixed for the next reupload thanks to a script provided by Groniack!
  5. Items will reappear on each visit. In the Mystery Dungeon games item locations are randomized and reappear whenever you enter The Game Corner map has a different screen color tone, I think it was meant to simulate an arcade feel with the bright lights and energy and I think it was a cool way to do that (it's an Enigma revamp map). I haven't seen anyone mention it, but I can see how it might be too bright if someone is sensitive to light or has a similar condition, and I'm willing to change it if it could effect people. In a video playthrough someone mentioned epilepsy concerns about the thunderstorm overworld weather effect suggesting that viewers with epilepsy skip that part of the video, so I removed the thunderstorms. I also replaced the sunny overworld weather effect with a sun fog effect since I thought the bright flashing might cause similar issues. That's ok @ English, I only speak English and still don't always know how to word things. It took around an hour and a half to make the post earlier
  6. The first one here is intentional. Bunnelby Burrows is set as a mystery dungeon map, meaning that the player's position and the layout of the map itself is randomized each time the player enters. In the past, there were issues with players getting stuck in the walls there and they would need to send me their save file to get unstuck. The wall tile was made passable so that people wouldn't get stuck when they entered. The second one is unintended though, thank you for bringing it up. For other post: I misread the comment about the sun. When I first read it I thought you were saying that a sprite was hard to see because the sun was next to it and both were bright, like for example if you're trying to read something outside on your phone but the sun is shining and it's making it hard to see anything on the phone's screen. For contrasting sprite colors and maps, that's something I never noticed or saw mentioned before and I'm unsure if you're meaning from a graphical perspective that it feels out of place or that it's uncomfortable for your eyesight (since you mentioned you could have been sensitive that day, that the bright colors were a bit harsh, and finding it hard to see at night)? @ finding where to go after the hotel, Emily says for the player to meet her at the Tourist Info Center after the scene in the hotel room. I can definitely understand how the beginning of the game feels like that. The player and Emily are just going on a summer vacation and there's not much more than that going on in the beginning. It's around the time where you played up to (with Team Portal in the Game Corner) that there start to be more story events and more characters introduced. Early on when everything was still being planned out, there were a few early story scenes that didn't end up making it into the game or were shortened since I was cautious of setting up too much too soon and felt better about the beginning being more of an introduction, although if people think it feels like there's next to no story at all in the beginning, that isn't ideal either. @ feedback, apologize if hurt/too harsh: Everyone has different reasons for playing games, different kinds of games that they like, etc. so it's okay to not enjoy a game, to think that some parts could use improvement, etc. I take feedback and suggestions included in posts seriously. It's important to remember to be constructive and respectful when giving feedback since there are people behind the products and screens, so I also appreciate that you mentioned not trying to be harsh and about not giving up on hopes and dreams!
  7. @PokefanPT I've moved your thread from Fan Game Expose to the Spork club I'm okay that people find the game easy because accessibility (like being able to choose any Pokemon as a starter) is something I was going for. I wanted to give players as many options as I could make available. Additionally, fighting/combat isn't what draws me to games personally, and I can't really follow along when I see people going in-depth about mechanical stuff like damage calculations, EV spreads, etc. I don't do well understanding technical things in general, and I'd be just as lost listening to someone explaining how to change a tire on a car or how to build a computer as I would reading about optimal strategies and movesets for characters in a game. Combat is one of the least interesting aspects in games to me (in part because of how technical they can get sometimes), I think I have the most fun exploring and learning about the world, or just doing relaxing activities (like in Animal Crossing). I've done testing for versions of Reborn and I'm on the Rejuv team where my role is to test versions, and most of what I point out is typos and tile errors, other unusual overworld happenings, and once in a while something that might be confusing in the dialogue. I pretty much never give feedback on battles or balancing, because I don't feel that I could give good advice on it. If I struggle with a battle, it might not be that the battle itself is a bit much, it could just be my lack of knowledge about balancing and strategy. I also set my teams' natures, EVs, and IVs in debug mode immediately when I play fangames. re: the synopsis, it wasn't my intention for "the story is more lighthearted than most other fangames and the official games" to be read as there not being a story. What I meant by that is that the story isn't dark or sad. The story is actually one of the main reasons I made Spork, although it's true that there are less story events early on, since the player is still being introduced to the region and such and I didn't want to overload with too much information or too many characters that early in. It's after the second gym that the story starts to pick up more. I've wondered before if that part of the synopsis gave the impression you had, and I would be open to ways of wording it better so that when I say "the story is lighthearted", it doesn't come across as "the story is nonexistent". Could you clarify or give some examples of these: "I also find this game so "confusing" sometimes, because you do a certain event, and then it seems like the game ended there, just to find out you're supposed to go somewhere for some reason." "a sprite that is absorving all the light, and the sprite right next to it is the sun itself. There are also a lot of tiles that are not "walls", and I'm kind of tired in running into walls." Specifically: for the first one, at which events did you feel like the game seemed to end? I usually try to be as straightforward as possible with directions on where to go next. Although I feel like for the story between the 5th-6th gym the instructions weren't specific enough in the past and players might have just wandered around the city until they found what they needed to do, so I made the dialogue there more specific a few reuploads ago. Early on I don't remember feeling that way about any events? In the beginning the player is told or hinted on where to go next most of the time. for the second part I quoted, could you specify where the sprite next to the sun was? The earliest map that uses a sunny overworld would be past the point you've played to. And when you say tiles that aren't walls, I had a hard time understanding the sentence. Do you mean there were tile passability errors where you were able to walk through a wall you weren't supposed to or that you weren't able to walk through a tile that you should have been able to? also, can I ask what version of the game you're playing? Did you download from here in the Spork club, or another site? The reason I ask is because of this: and the issue you mentioned about Virima Trail being empty. Enigma Shot U, a member of this site, has been working on map revamps for Spork which I've been adding to the game across reuploads. If you have the most recent upload, then Virima Trail should have a cycling map and a Furret walk map. The older map and a lot of the maps I made in general had the issue of too much empty space, so I wanted to be sure of how recent your reupload is. If you do decide to play again, I would recommend waiting until the next reupload though, since one is coming soon.
  8. In an early upload of episode 8, there were two trainers that caused the "add new trainer" to happen, one of which was the one you mentioned. Portal Agent Trixie (Underwater Hotel elevator and Team Portal HQ) and Scientist Esmeralda (Cyberspace, cyberhacking sidequest). This was because I forgot to change their trainer classes when I made multiple skin tones for trainer and NPC variants. It's possible you had an older download, either from downloading a while ago and just now playing, or from downloading from a different site. If it's the second case, only the links in the Spork thread in this club are official. If you see other sites with download links, they uploaded custom links without my permission or knowledge and they're all outdated. Some of those outdated links are episode 4 and some are earlier versions of episode 8. I don't know if you'll come back to see this post but if the information might be helpful if you do or to anyone else I decided to post it
  9. If you're willing to send me your save file, I can see if I'm able to load it. Hopefully if I can load it from my end and then save the game, that might fix it from your end too.
  10. I haven't seen any suggested solutions or fixes when people have mentioned it happening in fangames, unfortunately. The only thing I could think of is not having too many tabs/windows/programs running in the background while playing might reduce the chances of it happening
  11. So after asking in a few more places, this is the information I have now: Joiplay is also the app used on android that someone recently got Reborn and other RPG Maker games to play on mobile, although there still seem to be some errors to be worked out, as well as the issue of whether performance depends on device. The error in the first post seems identical to the error when trying to play Spork on mobile: Which could mean it's an issue with the Joiplay app. If that's the case than unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give any further help, but you could try contacting the creator of this thread: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/50982-pokemon-reborn-fully-working-on-android/ to see if you'd be able to get any assistance there. I apologize that I wasn't able to help more.
  12. I don't know what a Chromebook is, but I recall it being brought up in the staff channel some time ago in response to someone asking if it was possible to play Reborn on them. If it's Chromebook related I would probably have to ask someone, but did you try Vince&Sylveon's suggestion?
  13. The only other question I can think to ask at the moment to try to narrow down the issue is did you download on a PC or a Mac? (Macs have more difficulty running RPG Maker games, but there are workarounds to make it easier) edit: it's currently 1:13 AM here and going to sleep so if you reply it may be a few or several hours before I see it
  14. I tried googling the error and didn't get any relevant results, but going from the import new maps part: Is this your first time downloading Spork, or are you updating from a previous version? If you're updating from a previous version, what map did you save in before updating, if you remember?
  15. This one worked, thanks! Spectral Thief has been added for the next reupload!
  16. There's a notepad file in the game folder, gen7and8movesandabilities, that lists all of the ones I was able to add Thank you for the link, though do you know which version of Essentials that script is for? The post is from 2019 and I think v17 was out then, while Spork uses v16.2 edit: got this error when testing the move Looking more at the thread, I think this might actually be the Spectral Thief script I tried before that gave errors. The poster is quoting a user named Rot8r_ConeX, who I remember was one of the people who were very active with posting scripts for Gen 7 moves and abilities for Essentials around the time Sun and Moon came out. The person quoting also asks about a way to update that script for v17.2. When Sun and Moon came out v16.2 was the most recent version of Essentials iirc, so it does seem likely this is the same script I tried before. Still, thank you for trying to help.
  17. When Pokemon Spork started development, the most recent gen was Gen 6. Any Gen 7 moves and abilities that were added later are ones I was able to script in myself (if they shared the same effect as already existing moves) or if I was able to find a script for them on Pokecommunity. Some of the scripts I tried for some moves and abilities caused errors when I tried to add them, and Spectral Thief was one of them. I don't have any scripting experience or knowledge, so whether I'll be able to add any currently missing moves and abilities in the future relies on if someone else would be able to do it for me.
  18. @NessaMain I've moved your topic from Developing Games to the Pokemon Spork Club; topics about Spork should go in the Spork club ^^; Pikachu evolves into Alolan Raichu with Sun Stone, Exeggcute evolves into Alolan Exeggutor with Sun Stone, and Cubone evolves into Alolan Marowak with Fire Stone. The other Alolan forms evolve the same as in the canon games.
  19. 42 weeks after seeding: The pineapple plant is carefully planted in the ground by hand. 44th week: Purple flowers appear - about 6 petals grow every day. 58th week: The pineapple is ripe and ready for harvesting. The external colour of the fruit does not necessarily reflect the internal condition of the fruit. The fruit is always harvested at exactly the right point of ripeness because pineapples do not continue to ripen after harvest. (source: http://www.dole.eu/dole-earth/farmtour/pineapple/hotspot/growing-stages.html ) It's been a while since there's been any progress updates, but there's a lot to announce today! Starting with the above, the next custom shiny is the Gible line, resembling pineapples! Steffi and Palletite put in a lot of time and research with having them look like different stages of pineapple growth, and SilverAngelus/Solviera also helped with the shading and Garchomp's striped wings! They're also not the only shinies that have been updated for the next reupload. Palletite made revamps of the Holiday Pokemon too! Halloween Espurr is in a halloween candy bag and has candy corn ears, Christmas Slowking is based on a yule log cake, Valentine Starmie is illuminated with hearts, and the Meowstic have pastel Easter tones! There's a human character sprite that Steffi revamped too! Where before Anthony used the Techie overworld sprite from Reborn, he'll now have his own design! EEVEELUTION ZODIAC With the Eeveelution zodiac, you can choose a sign and receive some small benefits based on the sign you chose! Each Eeveelution has a month, and the months not covered by an Eeveelution are occupied by Eevee. With each Eeveelution sign, you'll get an evolution stone as a gift, the opportunity to obtain a specific legendary before the postgame (scaled down in level), and an overworld boost unique to each sign! I wrote a notepad file to help players choose before deciding. Info on each in below in spoiler box: I also moved the questions about the player and Emily's home region and parents' occupations to the Tourist Info Center at the start of the game. I thought the Tourist Info Center would make more sense for this information to come up, and would let me do more with the concept. I also realized it was strange for Crolea to assume the player and Emily have parents plural, when Crolea herself has one parent. There's now some additional dialogue in some places depending on what you pick. If you're from Ecruteak City, this comes up when speaking to Ashley and Kayla. If you're from Malie City, this comes up when first meeting Chelsea. At the Pokemon Research Institute, there's a little extra dialogue when speaking to Crolea if your parents are scientists, and Seamus has extra dialogue at the Ranger Base if your parents are rangers. As of now there's no extra dialogue if your parents are chefs, since I'm saving that for the Applin sidequest when it's time for the Gen 8 reupload. A NOTE ABOUT GEN 8 At the end of the last reupload post, I mentioned that I'd be able to do more this reupload without having to worry about burnout from Gen 8 prep. The reupload currently being worked on was sort of the opposite. I had so much extra time that I was able to add in the Gen 8 Pokemon, the moves and abilities that I was able to script, set up a starter selection area for the Gen 8 Pokemon, and do the Battle Factory Galar Arena + trainer teams and dialogue in advance (Galar Lass trainer sprite made by mid117). However, Gen 8 Pokemon won't be in this reupload, since there's still a few things that need to be done that I need to follow Rejuv's schedule on. One is some of the shiny sprites, another is some of the Gigantamax sprites (which will be mega evolutions; will also use the stats decided on by Rejuv), and the battle cries. In Pokecommunity's Gen 8 scripting thread there's a link to all the battle cries from Gens 1-8, but when I tried to open the folder after downloading, it froze my laptop. The starter selection for Gen 8 and Battle Factory maps will exist in the game, but not be publicly accessible until everything for Gen 8 is ready. My goal is for the reupload after the upcoming one to be the Gen 8 reupload. I already have most of the Pokemon locations and quests planned out, as well as the character team changes. Something I forgot to mention before is that the fossils won't be in Spork, because I feel bad about them being parts of different Pokemon mixed together. If we ever see what the original Pokemon looked like whole, those ones will be added, but the ones with mismatching heads and torsos won't. Somewhat related, there will be some small updates to the Game Corner over time: after the player reaches Gellene Town, Electabuzz employees are hired to replace the losses with the Team Portal members: after the player becomes Champion, the Electabuzz have cleaned up Team Portal's mess and made the Game Corner neat and tidy! For the next reupload, this will just be a small aesthetic change + some background info from the floor manager Electabuzz in Barker's seat. But the reason I mentioned it's somewhat related to Gen 8 is that Zacian and Zamazenta's quest will start here! For the next reupload I'd like to thank Palletite and Steffi for all the amazing new sprites, SilverAngelus/Solviera for helping with the , and Vince&Sylveon for the new Victory Road (which is showcased on Vince's channel and mentioned in Moonblast run thread)! For progress on the next reupload, currently Steffi and Palletite are in the process of making the Mega Garchomp pineapple shiny and the overworld sprites for the Holiday Pokemon. They're currently very busy with online classes, as well as adjusting to classes going from physical to online as a result of the COVID-19 situation, so it may be a while still before the next reupload is ready. Responsibilities and safety are top priority, and I hope everyone's been doing well considering recent events!
  20. @NessaMain I moved your thread from Developing Games to the Pokemon Spork Club The evolution stones in the Bunnelby Burrows actually reappear each time you enter, so if you go back to the Bunnelby Burrows you'll be able to find another one. Additionally, there's an evolution stone seller who appears in Bolaii Cave and in the Battle Mall. There's an infinite amount of each evolution stone + item available, so you don't need to worry about running out and not having enough to complete your dex! This information is in the FAQ:
  21. I don't play Yu-Gi-Oh so I wouldn't be able to guess the card, but Sierran looks like a forest fairy! Holding on to the flower reminded me of Floette.
  22. The Shiny Charm is given for defeating the trainer in the Shiny Club in Tullborn City (middle clubhouse in lowest row) Speaking of which this made me remember I made a mental note at one point to change that trainer's team to have some of Spork's custom shinies, will do that now for next reupload!
  23. I'm not sure I remember anything about shiny rate mentioned on the wiki, although I got this info from Dreamblitz: (but also is it possible you thought this topic was about Reborn since looking at your post history all your other posts are in Reborn-related sections?)
  24. I'm not sure of the exact percentage the Shiny Charm raises (Bulbapedia lists fractions but I'm not sure what those fraction numbers would be in percentages), but the increase from the Shiny Charm would be on top of the game's increased shiny rate as well.
