How much support do you guys think a fan game set 10 years before the events of Reborn would receive?
-
The idea sounds really cool, I'd love to see how a Reborn Origins game would turn out. There are many parts of the plot that could be fleshed out, and we could learn exactly how the city was originally destroyed. I really think there is enough content there to create a fan game. The only problem is that I'm not sure Ame ever planned for something like that, so there might be some inconsistencies with Reborn's plot. Not to mention that I'm sure at least 90% of the characters would have to die in the end (or during the story), including the MCs (unless they are supposed to be in-game Ame or something like that).
And yeah, like Commander said, making a fan game is a huge commitment and you should only do it if you are sure that you can see it through the end. The most important thing when making a game is dedication to the project.

So Nintendo revealed approximately how much the payed online will cost. In Japan it will be between $20-30 per year. That is a decent price point, being half of what the competition charges. Hopefully they are able to bring this pricing to other regions. Would do wonders to mitigate the fallout that happened after they announced the payed services.
-
Yeah, PS Plus and Xbox Gold cost around $50-60 a year, a very hefty price. If this new payed service leads to a better overall online experience, something that has always been lacking in a Nintendo console, I do think the price would be justified. All we can do is wait to see how online will function on the Switch. I'm just glad they aren't overcharging for it, unlike Microsoft and Sony.

what happens if you nuke the sun? What happens if you nuke a nuke? What happens if you dig a tunnel down to the earths core, seal it then set off a nuke there?

If the Big Top lost a lot of customers, there would be a Big Drop in people who go there.

It isn't 100% what I wanted, but Nintendo Switch delivered everything I asked for. FE Remake, FE Console Game, Mario Adventure, A new Zelda, and a New Xenoblade Game

Imo the Wii U had some great games, but the library was shallow and didn't offer much variety. The problem is that none of these great games did anything new or exciting, to entice consumers (other than Splatoon). The best example of this is Super Mario 3D World, it was an excellent game, but it didn't have the same impact as Super Mario Galaxy or even Super Mario Odyssey. The games really only appealed to hardcore Nintendo fans and did little to pull in other types of consumers.
Though by far the Wii U's biggest problem was its marketing. Even years after the console launched there were tons of people who still thought it was an accessory for the Wii. That was really pitiful, I can't fathom how a company can market their new console so poorly. Hopefully Nintendo learned its lesson from the Wii U.

I mean considering all the tech that is going in the machine, I can't see it being any cheaper. The only way to do that would be stripping the joycons of all of their motion/rumble/whatever features and having them just be standard controllers. I could see that happening in the future, kind of like what they did with the 2DS.
The price isn't that bad, it is the same as the low end models of the other two competing consoles. It should be expected to be that level.

FE2 in May, FE15 in 2018? Niiiiiiiice

I mean I'm not expecting it to be 3ds levels, but it won't be a wii u either. It is still way to early to tell how well it will fare, we really need to wait until e3 because Nintendo has a tendency to only announce titles that will come in less than a year. Case and point, every first party Switch title announced thus far (other than the FE teaser) is a 2017 game. Also, I'm expecting them to announced at least one more big first party game for Holiday 2017 (most likely Pokemon according to rumors). I don't see a price cut happening, since the price is fine for what the system is, but I do expect bundles. I think this was just a case of people setting up their expectations to impossible standards, that Nintendo (or any other company really) would never live up to. The only thing that concerns me is third parties, but if the Switch gets 3rd party support similar to the 3ds it should be fine.

Nintendo is really loving FE lately, four announced games, 3 in 2017 and 1 in 2018.
and a 7th character in Smash BrosTBH the Switch lineup for 2017 is very impressive, especially for a launch year. People were just overreacting to the payed online and expensive accessories and weak launch day. Not to mention there's still E3, which will likely announce some more late 2017 games and early 2018.
Seriously, Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, Mario Kart, Arms (new ip), Xenoblade, FE warriors all in one year? And people still called the Switch lineup weak...

If Pokemon used their hair for Psychic Fangs: Psychic Bangs.

are there really no move tutors in sun/moon except pladge/draco meteor/recharge moves for starters?
-
General tutors are something that only appear on the third versions and remakes. I don't think there was ever a new gen game that had general move tutors. For a list of all the move tutors in the pokemon games you can check this page.

Really? Paid online play? Surely Nintendo can't be so stupid as to throw away one of its biggest advantages over Xbox and PlayStation. I'll hold out hope that it's actually just some kind of "premium account" or something, and that regular online stuff works for free.
-
If Smash doesn't lag like crazy in any online mode other than For Glory (that only plays smoothly when you're playing someone else in your region). I'm down for the premium price, Sm4sh online was bad (though not broken like Brawl). The problem is with games like Pokemon, Splatoon, Mario Kart that had well functioning online and that will lose a lot of value (especially Splatoon) if you don't pay for the online.
Nintendo has to significantly improve its online services to justify this, and I'm expecting them to do it.

The problem with pokemon specifically is that some parts of it are unplayable without online. You can't complete the pokedex if you can't access online, you can't have multiple pokemon (from alternate versions, trade evolutions). As of now trading is a core part of the Pokemon experience. So hopefully Game Freak finds a solution to this. Whether it be alternate ways of having all pokemon in the game (link stones, having all pokemon available etc), or making online free for a few games (because lets be real pokemon servers shouldn't cost that much).
I don't think it would be a 'giant middle finger' or a 'huge fiasco', but it certainly is problematic and may put off some people. Also battle frontier not being in ORAS wasn't such a huge deal, and ORAS isn't a terrible pokemon game. Sure it way be on the worse half of pokemon games, but it still a very good game. There has never been a bad or terrible core pokemon game.
