Why are Awakening's paralogues so much harder than the main story?

lt's the same or Fates. They scale WAY too hard mostly.

In its defense, you can just grind up till you're at the right level. Granted some of them make XCOM look easier (Priam I'm looking at you!)

They vary with the pace of the story. Some Paralogues are objectively easier than others. The Xenologues are deliberately some of the hardest in the game because they were introduced as post-game DLC
