  1. As a conservative that agrees with Republicans on most issues, I now have enough experience being an American citizen under President Trump and those even more rightward than I to call him/them out on a few things. I also want to take this time to address both sides of the country and encourage one another in times such as these. President Trump has no idea what it's like to unify anything other than businesses and assets. And I'm not even sure he knows enough about that to coherently explain that sort of thing. He has no regard for America's diverse beginnings nor does his have a place in his aspirations for a diverse future. His biggest "wins" have been handing the previous administration "F"s in merely burning political actions away - save for his Supreme Court nominee. ..and he has no interest in seeking or revealing truth whatsoever. As for the Alt-Right movement, they are dying quickly and THANK. GOODNESS. The healing process wasn't supposed to involve calling people "snowflakes", complaining about "participation trophies", and demonizing people because they are different from us. ... Conservatism isn't about going backwards. It's about tradition only when it has a practical reason for being defended. It's about preparing for the worst - so that others can dream and hope for the best along with us. I am deeply sorry - on behalf of those of us on the right that do have some dignity, for possibly being a beacon of darkness to you all before. --- To those of you like me, on the right. It's okay to oppose the President. It's okay to have a three body government that checks the other branches and is also held in check by them. It's okay to talk to liberals. It's okay to disagree, and it's okay to have genuine conversations with one another. Don't use the worst of us as an excuse to hide from the political arena. and by GOD. Do not settle. Your friends on the left only have stall tactics and the hope in a nationwide movement of resistance to buoy them against their opposing majority. Joining them - when you feel it's right and just - is an absolutely encouraged action from me. To those of you on the left. If you want to protest - that's fine. All I ask is that you continue to do so as you have for the most part. Passionately. Fairly. and most impressively... Consistently. Give rise to your ailments. Let us hear of the wrongs committed against you. Hope should never die. I also hope, that when you are done voicing all of those things, that you're willing to have an open mind. That you are willing to put up with questions and possible misunderstanding. That you are willing to learn that disagreement is absolutely fine and can indeed be overcome. If you do, you'll have this conservative's axe more often than you might think. --- There have been a variety of factors in my life that have caused me to question everything. I've had a personal falling out with church members over church business because of a tendency to be "too" conservative. I've been consistently challenged by the logical and personal appeals of college to understand what I believe and why I believe it. My favorite adage comes from Greg Gutfeld, a Fox News host who is more of a libertarian thinker than a strict conservative. When asked "why are you a conservative" - his response is this "so you can be a liberal." Hopefully, we go back to the time where we as conservatives encourage liberal dreaming and action through our ability to avoid disaster, instead of being the cause of it due to a growing partisanship that threatens our Republic.
  2. Okay. So now we have Klein -and- Clarine. I know a certain YouTuber who would come back to the game if Louise would join her children. Also. Sanaki beat Ike into getting in this game from Ike's arc. :c
  3. I forgot assassin was a thing in this game. Fatesprobs. Anyway. I will buy the game -THIS. WEEK.- then. Never really thanked you guys for the support - so Thanks! I appreciate it!
  4. I kinda want to go do that in my new Rev run. Too bad Rev Effie is bad and largely unavailable.. I marry her off to Azama in that route. You might approve. also:
  5. There's a point out of this supposed inheritance system that should be addressed. - Duplicate units are essential to train up (as said above) because THOSE UNITS are the payment for the inheritance. For example - if you have a Lon'qu with Vantage Max and you pass that Vantage Max to Lyn - Lon'qu essentially dies in a "classic mode" run. Any unit that passes a skill is gone after doing so. This means you want to train up duplicates- as they are expendable. Neat things that may be possible. - Chrom/Lucina picking up Renewal. - Azura picking up Hone Attack from Olivia, cementing her outclassing Olivia.
  6. Pull of the day: *** Selena The two biggest selling points on Selena are the Armorslayer and Threaten Speed. - For potential weapon challenges in the future, not having magic units to deal with armors - particularly armored lance units - is a pain. thankfully the cutting wit herself has a way to turn the tables on sword knights, absolutely obliterate axe knights, and mitigate her struggles against lance knights due to her weapon scoring super effective damage. - Speed is one of the most important stats to have in Fire Emblem as of late, if not outright THE most important stat to have in Fire Emblem as of late. Threaten Speed allows Selena to provide a hand to the team by increasing their chances of doubling enemies affected by the skill. The bad news though - is her other skill. Yes, It's friggin' Triangle Adept, which increases the boosts AND debuffs as you upgrade it. Selena does gain from the skill against axe units and green tomes/dragons, but because she already has the advantage over axe units anyway, the trade-off against Lancers, blue tomes, and blue dragons like Femui doesn't seem like an even trade. All skills like this do is make a unit better at what they were already good at, and in Selena's case, there's plenty of units that outclass her because of their ability to be flexible. This one hurts. HOWEVER - -IF- it's a pick your poison between having a Ruby Sword or Triangle Adept, Selena got the quick and painless choice here. It could have been worse. From the collector's perspective: Nohrian Retinue: Xander: - Laslow (Obtained) - Peri (Obtained) Camilla (Check): - Selena (Obtained) - Beruka (Still Need) Leo: - Odin (Still Need) - Niles (Still Need) Elise: - Arthur (Still Need) - Effie (Obtained) 1/4 Nohrian royals; 4/8 Nohrian retainers. Hoshidan Retinue: Ryoma: - Saizo (Still Need) - Kagero (Still Need) Hinoka: - Setsuna (Obtained) - Azama (Obtained) Takumi: - Hinata (Obtained) - Oboro (Obtained) Sakura: - Hana (Obtained) - Subaki (Obtained) 0/4 Hoshidan royals, 6/8 Hoshidan retainers.
  7. I can fill in the blank on Camilla. She's essentially the better of the two first generation Wyvern units you get in Conquest and you get both of them in the same chapter. She outclasses Beruka in everything except for defense and comes pre-promoted. Unlike a normal early pre-promote however, Camilla has excellent growths on top of her absolutely broken bases. The only real problem that may arise from using her is that she can KS other units and experience is a limited commodity for the Nohrian army. This is not enough, in my opinion, to deter from using her. She can reclass to Wyvern Lord from her starting Malig Knight class and somewhat easily get D rank in lances, allowing her to solo certain beast chapters that can otherwise cause a bit of stress. Wyverns are counted as Dragons over Beasts, making the enemies unable to gain benefits from their beastbane skill. She can naturally pick up Bowbreaker from her Heart Seal option in Sorcerer and she can stack that bowbreaker with swordbreaker from Wlord. This enables Camilla to mitigate the two of her three major problems taking attacks, Arrows and Swords. Defensively, Malig Knight gives her balanced Defense and Resistance growths as a class and Camilla is flexible enough to level both fairly often. Oversexualization be damned, Camilla is just as oversexualized as Sophie, a child unit who DOESN'T engage in feminine wiles just out of her nature. Nohrian women don't really like pants in general. Her character is most definitely grating from certain angles however. I can attest. If you get Conquest, you should field her. Especially in her join chapter.
  8. I still rock out with Azama. He's an exceptional colorless bait due to his good defense too. Imbue is also a nice heal proc. I just promoted him to ****.
  9. If you haven't played Conquest yet and intend to - Yes. Use Camilla. Prepromotes aren't garbage in this game. Camilla is an incredibly useful unit all the way through.
  10. I still don't have any 5* pulls. Although I did unlock Robin and Camilla's summon videos when they were focus units. Effie is SO. GOOD. She's also a unit that is stacked save for stats, Max Death Blow, and the lack of the Silver Lance+, making her an exceptional 4* unit.
  11. I wish Sully didn't wear a toilet bowl lid around her neck and hurt her child. I like her tomboyish "she's the man" ....cavalier... demeanor. That's about though. See Mael. That sounds like discount Effie to me. I want to go with Frederick for Cordelia. Stahl's a fine gent and gives Severa the speed she wants, but I like bulkier heroes. I may want to pair up Tharja with someone. The two notable archers in this game are Virion and Noire. And screw Virion. If I keep Noire as a bow user- who would help her out? Yep. Going Gregor and Cherche.
  12. Gameplay wise the game is simple and entertaining - and if getting your favorite heroes isn't the dominating focus of your play it's very worth the nothing you have to spend just to play fire emblem. Getting heroes takes some patience though. That's Gacha for ya.
  13. Sumia's worst gril, man. "Hi Chrom I like you Chrom saved your life Chrom here's some pie Chrom marry me Chrom?" (Chrolivia all the way, Inigo4President) Speaking of forced pairings, Gregor and Nowi has the same thing as Sumichrom due to being shoehorned in the same chapter together - but both personalities are fun. I personally think Cherche should go to Gregor (Great Irish Rainbows, Batman!) after doing some personal consideration. And his support with Tharja is hilarious and great. And his support with FemRobin is just gold. So. The jury is still out on this on. Is Vaike Sully a good pairing?
  14. Not to have blown up screenies or anything so I'll leave an attachment and see if that works but EFFIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- **** nvm still big picture. Who cares?
  15. 1. Plasma... (DUNNNNDUNDUNNNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN)....sorry, that electric guitar riff is the greatest. 2. Skull 3. Aqua/Magma 4. Rocket 5. Aether ...even though neither Skull nor Aether counts as a true evil organization. Both were effectively antagonistic, but Skull was more of an island of misfit toys and Aether was actually a force for good momentarily following orders that stemmed from bad intentions.
  16. So. I think I probably -will- second seal Frederick (debating between Wyvern and Cav) - because I do want him to marry Cordelia. (Because nobody deserves to be paired with Sumia.) 1. This makes Severa a fantastic Hero, which is the class I wanted to use her in. 2. Aegis+Pavis, Open Combat, Luna 3. Only issue is that this makes Selena slow, which isn't canon - but I'll be okay. While I wasn't keen on Forrest, Libra is an awesome character. I don't know who I should pair Gregor with.
  17. I'm no mega weeb or anything - but Severa is Tsun. Perhaps you were thinking about Tharja? I happen to think she's more appealing than Henry or the non-dark Mages as a unit. I'm with ya on Gregor though. He's pretty cool. I happen to like the War Monk class.
  18. Yeah. It's mainly an aesthetic choice coupled with the fact that I don't really like Sully. Stahl is fine - but he's not Silas and he still has to deal with that toilet store riding gear. if I'm going to use a cavalry unit - it's going to be Frederick. Frederick doesn't look like a dunce. (Rip early game.) Seriously Ylisse. What the hell are your cavaliers and knights being armored with. Sumia can shove her pies on the butt end of her lance. Talk about forced Chrom pairing. --- I don't really care for any of the original Shepards save for Chrom, Kellam, and Maribelle. Then Kellam walks around in the most disrespectful armor design ever. And Maribelle is a staff lock at first. I fully expect a rough early game. --- That being said - the Feroxi/ Plegia/Valmese joins (Lon'qu/Olivia/Tharja/Cherche/Say'ri) as well as Cordelia and Libra are pretty cool. Most of the kids are pretty neat too. Cherche is best girl and her son literally Batman. Kjelle is essentially discount Effie. Lucina is my favorite character. Then there's the Fates reprisals. Good 2nd gen cast. except Cynthia.
  19. "You should really play Awakening." - Amethyst, 2015 "Oh my god, seriously, just play Awakening..." - Amethyst, 2016 ...well, fine.... --- Why DO you want to play Fire Emblem Awakening, Hunter? I want to play Fire Emblem Awakening because I started my fanboying over the Fire Emblem series with a game that isn't ideal for beginners, even if it was the easier of the two paths. Fates is a fantastic game - but with regards to it's place in the franchise it may be something that's one of it's kind - and it may be something that doesn't help me transition to other games as well as it's predecessor will. Awakening is available for the 3DS and is still sold in stores today, making it easy to pick up at the moment in comparison to Fire Emblem for the GBA, which is what I PERSONALLY would recommend to newer players myself. (I assume that's the game with Eliwood, Hector, and Lyn....I hope. It's THAT game that I would recommend to other players.) I also told Ame that I would - and after playing a ton of Fire Emblem Heroes, I spent a lot of my weekend studying over this game and what I would like and dislike about it. I must say. I'm intrigued. Why are you making a thread about your playthrough? I'm making a thread about the game NOW because I would ideally like to play the game and have you guys critique and comment on my play and decision making as I go. One of the reasons I'm inspired to play this game is how well FE:A was received by the community when it came out and how for a while, it was "Waifu Wars I" that dominated the server chat over League of Legends, Memes, and Rule 7. I missed out, and I'm going to atone for my sins. What do you like about Awakening before even purchasing it for yourself? Unlike Awakening, the My Unit Tactician is actually important WITHOUT being the main driver of the story - and when they DO drive it, they don't utterly botch the job. It's essentially what Fates tried to re-create in terms of making Corrin important (....like...much else of Fates...) without giving Robin exalt blood and the "Lord" class. I also like how it (possibly) fits in the potential Fire Emblem timeline, combining the worlds of Marth, Ike, Lyn, Alm and Celica, and Corrin to form the equivalent of the three-way timeline split you find the Legend of Zelda timeline. That's a lot of lore to digest, and I like me some lore....damn it.... Finally, the game features a "so-so" execution of the Second Generation Unit mechanic. It's not as well done as Genealogy of the Holy War, but it's much more forgivable than Fates in that regard. Some of this games most intriguing characters are child units. Which Robin is "canon" in your opinion, Hunter? Male - or Female? Awakening's tactician's gender is actually pretty important with regards to it's singular lore - and the lore of the Fire Emblem franchise outside of it - and it also changes Robin's personality between the Smooth Micheal Jackson Criminal dudebro and the delightfully feminazi super smart definitely attractive dude-not-bro. Both characters are 100% more refreshing than Corrin. In terms of the entire Fire Emblem franchise, I would say that Robin's generic Smash skin is the canon Robin (Sorry, ladies.) - because of a particular theory involved regarding Mark (the same Mark that is found by Lyn at the beginning of FE7) and Female Morgan being "twins". However, the somewhat intimate nature between Chrom and Robin makes a lot more sense if Robin is female (sorry Yaoi-preferred Chrobin fanboys/girls), making a better Awakening story that feels canon to itself. It's a matter of perspective. Which Robin are you playing as, and who is your Waifu/Husbando? I will be playing the game TWICE. 1st playthrough - Female Robin, marrying Chrom. - This renders a very good Lucina that is tasked with potentially committing matricide to prevent Chrom from dying like what happens in the future she came from. It also makes fighting Grima in The Future Past a particularly heartwrenching scene for Lucina. (Lucina is my favorite character in this game. And yes, she's my Sm4sh main. I like clones.) 2nd playthrough - Male Robin, marrying Lissa. - WHOA WHOA WHOA Hunter?!?. You're a lolicon now? You're just thirsty for that Exalt booty? WHAT'S YO DEAL MAN?... ...actually, there's a story reasoning behind this too (and Lissa's cute in an adorkable sort of way, aight?) - only this time, pertaining to the game I started this franchise with. Fates. Owain eventually is warped into the land of Nohr to track down Corrin and assist her/him (as Nohr!Corrin is canonically Female.) - becoming "ODIN DARK."..... Odin uses a lot of adjectives that align with Nohr's darkness theme, but he has a penchant for one term in particular.... "Fell". The My Unit in Awakening is essentially the human embodiment (er....vessel?) of the Fell Dragon, Grima. Meaning, it would totally make sense if there was Fell Dragon blood in Owains veins. I call this playthrough #MakeOwainGreatAgain (because Odin was my first experience with Owain.) First Gen Units you're likely to use? Robin Chrom Lissa Virion Vaike Donnell Lon'qu Maribelle Gaius Anna Cordelia Gregor Olivia Tharja Libra Cherche Second Gen Units you're likely to use? Lucina Morgan GEROMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Severa Owain Inigo Brady Laurent Kjelle Favorite Villain? Aversa Favorite Music Tracks? Id (Sorrow) - "Lucina's Judgement" "Such Bonds are the True Strength of This Army" - support music "Don't speak her name!" - Battle music
  20. 089-529-7773 ID: Hunter Icon: Palla (***) Got Femui to **** and drew a *** Sully, a **** Chrom, a **** Henry, and another *** Oboro. That's 4, 3, 4, 4, and 3 stars for those of you that may experience eye strain from that. The recent run of Awakening characters has given me an idea.
  21. At Level 21, Palla only has 13 Res... which is absolutely abysmal for a Peg Knight from my point of view. However, I was more concerned with Axe units than Green tomes with regards to the aerial assault force I was cooking up, because the Blue Peg ideally would tend to be better at taking Magic damage, and Camilla is rather balanced enough defensively in a pinch. The Ruby Sword just isn't a priority for me in comparison to Moonbow and Goad Fliers. She's only a three star for now - so the goal is to get her to the point where she can promote.
  22. Yesterday's pulls were: *** Palla *** Jagen *** Laslow **** Peri - Palla is a very interesting unit (and she's hot.) As a red Peg Knight she can deal with axe users, which is something other notable pegs struggle with. (she's also hot.) Considering my semi aggressive playstyle, Wings of Mercy is a great skill. (She's still hot.) Best though are Moonbow and Goad Fliers (and her hotness.) Definitely using Palla alongside Camilla/Cherche and hopefully a decent normal peg knight. (Would like a Catria, Hinoka, or Cordelia.) (Why are flying female units so attractive.) Probably going to keep my Steel Sword over Ruby for now though. - Gunters better. Fight me Archanea fanboys. - Laslow is an interesting unit too. Daybreak is a pretty good proc skill, and Axebreaker is additionally pretty nice. Hone speed is good. Best thing about Inigo MonLaslow is the Silver weaponry he ends with in my opinion. - Peri's artist. Like Palla's. Earned their paycheck. Peri - seems REALLY good too. She gets Night Sky and Glimmer as a proc - and the Killer lances to basically proc Glimmer practically every time she attacks. She also gets threaten def. she seems genuinely scary.
  23. Important point to keep in mind. It's -still- a mediocre story. I never said all of those story bits were executed well. I just had my expectations extraordinarily low knowing that story isn't necessarily important in most mobile games. Another thing - the Heroes themselves - barring the new characters this week - are not the focus of the plot at all. Yes - their dialogue relative to Embla and Askr is either not there. Or not good. However - the Heroes end up all serving the same troubles. Veronica shows up and forcibly binds them to her service. It's repetitive yes. And uninteresting aside from seeing Chrom get conscripted by a little girl. But it doesn't leave much room to improvise. On my end. The story being there at all, and having multiple facets such as Xander, Zacharias, being a corrupted "good" empire, and Veronica's potential insecurities were much more than to expect.
  24. I'm feeling type happy today, so here's something I haven't seen yet on this game. Fire Emblem!~ Heroes!~ ...Review We'll be going with a familiar ranking system to this game - a star based ranking for each aspect of Heroes. Firstly, let me start out by saying this game surpassed my expectations as I was expecting a shameless cash grab game that DIDN'T show a little love to the series' fans with effort placed in all the right places, so expect positives for the most part. Heroes has become a regular part of my college routine - as my life has been quite repetitive since coming back on campus. It's a welcome breath of life fresh air. User Interface - ***** The Castle HUD, start menu bar styled UI, and the familiar settings popup from the main franchise as of late give Heroes a sense of true belonging when it comes to how the game runs. As a Fates join - this translated seamlessly for me and I wasn't spending minutes trying to tinker with things or having to look up a guide on how to use the mobile app. It also looks very appealing with all the different icons stylistically. Finally, any information about a selected unit is easy to understand, along with forecasts. Gameplay - *** This is one area where I took the low bet - and did so having my expectations met. Having the maps set on a small grid on your mobile device meant that the maps wouldn't be all that fun by themselves. There isn't really room for visitable villages (which would be an excellent way to earn feathers, badges, shards, and even orbs if they felt so inclined.), Dragon Veins and the alterable terrain that comes with the territory, or larger grids to add terrain on. I've made my peace with that though. The game still plays like a Fire Emblem game and thus there's very little transition to make from the latest installments of the franchise. There's still skills, there's still weapons, and there's still the same old need to use your brain to pick up the "W". Three out of five is most of the stars available. Story - **.5 In terms of story - I'm going to warn you right now - bits may be spoiled past this point. Tread lightly. Don't complain at this point. You've been warned. ...To put Heroes' plot into perspective, it's ranking is shared with the one I would give Fates: Conquest. For a fully fledged installment into the franchise, a 2.5 is a mediocre ranking that would be seen as a disappointment in my opinion - but for a mobile app where half of the fun comes from simply pulling units out of a nonexistent trading card pack and seeing what you get, a 2.5 is a mediocre ranking that is actually a relief to have. I am someone who personally cares greatly about plot when it comes to progression. I found myself caring about Askr's plight, intrigued by Xander's refusal to part with Embla after the Order of Heroes breaks the Nohrian-Emblian contract, baited into caring about who the heck Zacharias(?) is, impressed by how Askr and Embla were supposed to work in unison to open and close the gates to the Heroes' multiple universes, and lately, how even the Worlds of Genealogy and Sacred Stones were attacked. Unfortunately, the story is very touch-and-go, prioritizing quick battles and experiences over story depth. Character Roster - ***** A very large list of characters from Wrys to Lyndis, Arthur to Hector, Jagen to Gunter, and Donnel to Marth. AND Nintendo and IntSys seem perfectly willing to keep adding to this. The trading card aspect of the game is great. Gacha Experience - *** This is reasonably par for the course, with a little bit extra for the suspense value. It's perfectly useable without invoking it's obvious Pay-to-win nature - and that's good enough for po' college boi me. FINAL RANKING ***.5 Heroes doesn't engage me for long periods of time and I'm not personally inclined to blow a ton of cash on it, but the uncanny experience the game offers, the visuals, the music, the quotes, the UI, and the gameplay all work in harmony to create a valuable Fire Emblem experience that can rightfully boast the namesake.
