  1. Would like to refute this being A and push it down to B due to it lacking TM coverage. As soon as we get Poison Jab, EQ, Swords Dance and Rock Slide or at least half of those, I reckon it should be no higher than B even if it is gonna set Sun or be used as a Toxic/Venom Drencher. Feel free to discuss, I wanna hear what a few different people think on this one before I rank Scoli. Totally agree on Metagross' outclassing of Bronzong, but mainly due to Bronzong's current lack of Screens/Rocks/Toxic. Gonna give Bronzong A and Metagross S. I think you make an excellent point in that Empoleon's special bulk and unique Steel typing make it almost essential if you want to even hope to survive Charlotte, gonna give it S now.
  2. LazerGator or Protean Froakie master race
  3. As of this post, all analyses have been added, thanks guys and keep it up!
  4. Incase you're taking suggestions for Luna-Samson I've got a few Bug: Dwebble, Crustle (Route 2 Wild Encounter) Rock: Dwebble, Crustle, Rhyhorn (Route 2 Wild Encounter) Fighting: Timburr (Circus puzzle reward) Fairy: Cleffairy (High Striker reward) Ground: Rhyhorn (Route 2 Wild Encounter) Water: Seaking (Good Rod Celestine Cascade) Also I'm not 100% sure what you'd be able to catch using the Good Rod inside I think it's Celestine Mountain when you complete the Crustle Puzzle north on Route 1. Encounters might be a tad different, not too sure.

    Mono run help

If you need help deciding which Fire type Pokemon to use or if after your done you wanna help others feel free to check out this thread http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16142 it gives an overview of each Pokemon for each type and ranks how good they are and what the best moves are to run on them.
  6. Continued in next post due to OP and this post exceeding character limit
  7. Hello, friends! Whilst playing Reborn with a bunch of my friends over at the Sora League on Pokemon Showdown, some of us decided it would be a good idea for us to do monotype run-throughs. And of course it has been both a challenge AND a heap of fun. Because of my new found love for Monotype running through Pokemon games, I thought it would be a fun idea to do a form of Viability ranking for the Pokemon on each Monotype in Pokemon Reborn! Since I did a run through of Poison, I'll do as much for Poison as I can and of course I will be accepting suggestions for any other Pokemon from any type. As this thread progresses I will more than likely rank Monotypes in Reborn as an entirety to help any aspiring Mono runners for Reborn. This will be mainly community driven and contributed since I won't be able to every single Pokemon for every single type myself, hell I'll be lucky to get all of Poison done myself haha, so I'll need as much help as I can get! This is not the discussion thread if you wish to contribute you can do so here. If you are at any point wondering where to catch any of these wonderful Pokemon, you can check out this thread Monotype Pokemon Availability Guide for information on how to obtain them! Please note that this is NOT a Canon Pokemon Game Monotype analysis/ranking, if you wish to see a Canon Competitive Pokemon Game Monotype viability ranking, please visit Smogon University's forums. Edit: Due to a few people commenting about it, these rankings will be incorporating mechanics from Episode 15 and 15 alone; this means no breeding from previous Episodes like 12 where breeding partners for certain Pokemon hadn't been taken out. Also, before you all ask, no I don't expect everyone's Pokemon reviews to be as indepth as mine although it'd definitely be appreciated, I just enjoy getting very technical and indepth with my reviews of Pokemon. Anyone who does submit a review successfully will of course be fully credited! Also please remember that all of these placements and are contestable, with the right amount of evidence, I can be convinced to change a Pokemon's placement based on whether you think it's too good/bad for a certain rank. All Pokemon listed which are of the same type/rank are not listed in any order, for example: if both Blaziken and Ninetales are listed for S Tier Fire but Blaziken comes first on the list, that doesn't inherently make Blaziken a more viable Pokemon. The meaning of each Rank is as follows: S Rank: These Pokemon are unparalleled on a team; bordering on broken-ness for their type, being able to preform whatever role it is the Pokemon is meant to preform with almost 0 downside whether it be Offensively or Defensively. These Pokemon need no support or very little in order for them to slot into your team and can fulfill a ton of roles for your team or one exceptionally well whilst even providing some utility themselves. Comparatively to other Pokemon on their type, there is no other Pokemon which should be used over it. When playing, these Pokemon should definitely be used. A Rank: These Pokemon may have qualities similar to S Tier Pokemon but require more support from their team mates due to short comings in stats, abilities, secondary typing or movepool but still have very good offensive or defensive utility. More often than not, these Pokemon should always be considered. B Rank: These Pokemon have a few shortcomings which make them not as good as Pokemon from the previous tiers, this means that it may take a turn or two and/or some support from other Pokemon in your party in order for them to truly shine, or may be highly useful in a certain fight or certain game period before other Pokemon are available. Whilst not bad these Pokemon have flaws which may be problematic for some circumstances. C Rank: These Pokemon have flaws which make them not as good as Pokemon from the other tiers above, this may be due to an unfortunate ability, secondary typing, speed/attack stat or movepool. These Pokemon may or may not have a useful niche which can work in a certain circumstance and can offer some useful utility to your team but sacrifices a slot on your team. D Rank: These Pokemon in most circumstances are a waste of a Team Slot and are completely outclassed by another Pokemon in its type or are inexplicably crippled by the lack of moves available to it in Reborn. These Pokemon should seldom be considered for a spot on your team. E Rank: Complete trash, never useful in any circumstance in which it is legally obtainable and constantly outclassed in every fashion. Do not use. To suggest a Pokemon for a specific Rank, just comment on this thread or PM me a review of a specific Pokemon which looks something like this: Ninetales (Fire) for S Rank If you wish to reserve a certain Pokemon for a certain type, please comment on this thread or message me personally and I'll add your choice to the list of reserved Pokemon. Current release: Episode 15 Types: Continued in Second post due to OP exceeding character limit
  8. A friend of mine made a video on injecting starters into Reborn for mono challenge runs and what not if you wanna take a look. Also there's a link in my Signature which may be able to help you on a monotype run. You should definitely do one, they're a ton of fun! I've done Poison and Bug so far, definitely a good way to kill some time and experience a more challenging side of Reborn.
  9. A friend of mine did a Water mono run and he was saying that between Greninja, Azumarill and the amount of rain setters the type gets that it's waayy too easy since you can just spam Surf and Hurricane from Swanna. In comparison other types he's done like Normal are apparently a fair bit harder. Could be fun ofc but it'll be a cake walk after you beat Fern. Speaking from experience I had a ton of fun with Poison and Bug so you should defo consider those. Edit: A friend of mine did a guide on how to inject starters into Reborn if that's the reason you're not considering types that don't have a Pokemon before the first Gym:
  10. Yeah I've re-wrote Crawdaunt's spoiler tag like 10 different times and yet it remains broken, I've no idea why. Its happened to a few other Pokemon in Ice as well, although everything looks fine in the raw code it still does it... Odd huh? I guess we'll just have to live with it I guess, I'll keep trying to fix it though. Holy christ that was a lot of contributions! Took me ages to add but it will definitely help people, thanks! My bad, I missed it but you didn't specify type it's for which actually makes a big difference for Medicham. Also thanks for the Gallade submission! Also pretty big announcement, we've so far hit over 135 different analysis for different types! That's absolutely amazing guys, keep it up! EDIT: This is no longer where I will be posting all of the actual results for the tiers, instead they will now be posted here.
  11. If I remember right, one of the first Pokemon you'll be getting will be Wormadam-Trash, so catch a Headbutt slave like Bidoof so you can add another mon to your roster.
  12. So sorry about my slackening off on this thread, real life's been a bit rude recently with Homework and personal stuff but as of this post everything has been added, thanks everyone! Will also add some more stuff of my own fairly soon so stay tuned! We've already got an analysis for Archeops on flying and it's listed as S rank, please read the tiers before contributing, thank you though! I'm very apprehensive about giving Noivern even A rank just because no Dragons of the same typing are currently in game that outclass it. 97 sp atk is meh, and other dragons that hit harder such as Flygon, Kingdra in rain and Dragon Dance Haxorus are obtainable. Also Chubb, thanks for the sprite my one I had broke a few days back and I coulda sworn I put a new one in, oh well! Also coulda sworn I'd updated the thread to say Ep 15 but I'll double check.
  13. All reviews from all users have been added, thank you all! Not entirely true. Most people associate Mold Breaker with only using EQ to hit Levitators or Water moves on a Storm Drain/Water Absorb Pokemon. What a lot of people forget/don't know is that Mold Breaker allows you to ignore Sturdy so you can one shot Pokemon that normally would hang on, as well as this although it's hardly very common, it allows you to ignore Wonder Guard. Other uses include using status/non attacking moves on Magic Bounce Pokemon which can be useful for getting a Parting Shot off without it getting bounced.
  14. Gonna assume this is for Fighting since you've noted its Dark typing as a plus side, in future please specify which type this is for; thanks! Nah, let's leave Gengar out for now; only leaving Poison's analysis since it's already done and I've put a note next to it informing readers that it was axed from the game in 15. Awesome, thank you for both your Fairy, Grass and Grumpig rankings, very helpful!
  15. Yeah true, there aren't any other Sand setters for ground so his role is one of a kind; S it is. If you read my Bug Analysis for it, you'll see that I completely trash the Pokemon for how terrible it is. Awesome suggestions, thanks for the Analysis and I'll definitely be linking that other thread in the OP; I've made reference to it for another user but it's probably a good idea to have it in the OP for everyone to look at. Edit: Whoops, forgot about the suggestions, I'll fix that now. Thanks to everyone else for contributing as well, don't wanna quote everyone 'cos spam.
  16. Awesome analysis'! However I have a few objections and something else that I feel should be noted, firstly I believe that Mamoswine's ability to shred through Grass types with Icicle Crash and Ice Shard warrants S, so I'll be doing that. Also I think that Hippowdon's Sandstorm utility that it can offer to its team should bump it to A especially since you think that Excadrill in Sandstorm should be S (Which I think is a fair call), Lastly, the fact that you limit Quagsire to being a Pokemon that stops Water types when really Quagsire is one of the best Unaware users in the game aside from Clefable. Due to Quagsire not getting Scald and Toxic to stall out opposing physical set up Pokemon like Excadrill, Bisharp, Azumarill, Gyarados and Scizor I can understand why it wouldn't be S, A or even B. Just wanted to note that I think as soon as we're granted access to the Toxic and Scald TMs that Quagsire should be moved from C to A at the very least. All that aside, I'm very thankful for your contributions and will be adding the other few Water/Ground Pokemon over the next few hours! Also, thanks to YagamiNoir for his Bisharp analysis as well; great work as always~
  17. Awesome as, thank you for those; very insightful Also as a note to the rest of the thread, I've added 2 more Analysis' for bug. Sad thing is the same thing that happened to Crawdaunt's spoiler tag happened to Beautifly's why does that even happen tho like wth man so it's gonna be a tiny bit fugly, I'll try fix it a bit later on. I'll probably do Yanmega, Escavalier, Heracross (When I get it) and Vivillon tomorrow.
  18. Sorry 'bout the wait, it is done; thanks for contributing! My bug analysis should be going up over the next few days, apologies for the lack of posting; Work, School and my boy Roy in Smash 4 have taken up like 99% of my spare time. Expect more contributions soon!
