  1. Hmm? I'm not quite sure what you mean, did I make a typo somewhere? For the PCs, the chant, using Alexus as an example, should end: Lend me your power That I may free myself For a goddess it ends I lend you my power That you may free yourself EDIT: Oh, you meant Stalkerkain. You should just be copy/pasting what's in Lilith's post @Kain. Since Esyllt isn't actually saying it, Lilith is. Unless Esyllt suddenly speaks goddess
  2. I wouldn't mind fluff if you want to. But this time around an Emberly post isn't entirely necessary to move things forward Although the more you post* the more chances you have to trigger event flags, so keep that in mind. sometimes something that seems like nothing more than fluff could end up completely changing the direction a scene goes And I'm 100% serious there. There's certain attitudes, actions, questions, and etc that will cause certain events to happen that wouldn't have happened otherwise. And responding to different scenarios in different ways will cause alterations in what happens *as in, the more you respond to NPC posts. Just going back and forth with another character won't do much of anything in terms of the RP as a whole. Although it is, of course, still good for intra-character relationships TL;DR recommended but hardly required
  3. NVM, If this scrub's joining I'm out Kidding, I'll only be leaving when I realize how little time I have... But I haven't done that yet
  4. They are there. But if you wanna get real specific, I've been copying them off of the notepad doc that I wrote them all down in way back when I first conceived the concept
  5. I need more Jing Wei fanart

  6. Interest voiced Can't Skype but whatever else probs works. showdown not recommended Have RPing to do. Can't talk Look forward to this if it works out
  7. Adam vs. Strider Unfortunately, Strider didn't do anything in particular. Adam wasn't really sure what to do now. He was so certain he had the win within his grasp, but he had given up all his advantages. Taunting her now would be pointless, he was clearly at a disadvantage. He could no longer use his signature as a surprise attack. Ramming her did nothing. The only other option he had was to go all out, he'd blown his ace, but he still had his king. But if she could counter that, he'd be completely out of options. Still, it was his best bet. He opened two of his machine guns up and fired a small burst off. Not at his opponent, but at the ground. These hits caused a small gash to form in the ground, followed by the most minuscule of ramps. He then charged directly at Strider. He passed over the odd groove in the ground and was launched up into the air. He extended blades on an axis perpendicular to the ground, shooting towards Strider like a buzzsaw from above. If he was correct, gravity would prevent him from losing all of the strength behind his attack. Meaning that his blades would stay in contact with Strider for longer. The only flaw was that he wasn't certain how the shield would interact with the blades. If it prevented him from dealing damage he'd be in trouble, but if he was still able to deal damage there was a slight chance that a strike as powerful as this this could be a fatal blow, or at least surprise Strider enough to let him use his signature again.
  8. Haley - Side Hall Thingamadoohickey Haley walked briskly through the hallways. The area near the library was largely vacant, there was almost nobody around. What few people were there payed Haley no heed. She heard footsteps closing behind her, telling her that at least one of the other girls had followed her. She was happy, it would be nice to not be alone if she ran into the Other right now. She didn't know exactly where Natalie was going, but she had a guess. There was only one place that could possibly be lonelier than the library: The meditation rooms. Although their name sounded harmless, even spiritual, the only girls who went there were those who desperately wanted to be away from the world... Particularly those who wanted to die miserably, but Haley really hoped Natalie wasn't that far gone. Once a girl entered a meditation room, it was taboo (and in some places outright illegal) to disturb her for any reason until she came out. It wasn't entirely unknown for girls to lock themselves inside and deprive themselves of food and water. And it was actually fairly common for girls to at least start the process before coming to their senses. Even if Natalie wasn't feeling suicidal, the solitude provided would probably seem very welcoming, despite it being in a place as morbid as that. Her worry growing, Haley picked up her pace. She rounded a corner and was stopped in her tracks by what she saw. Natalie Opium sat against a wall, straddling her knees in front of her face. Oh thank goodness she didn't make it all the way to the meditation rooms. Haley breathed a sigh of relief and the tension drained from her features. She slowly approached Natalie, trying her best not to spook her. The footsteps that had been following her slowed to a halt, stopping just past the corner. Twenty feet, fifteen, ten, five. Haley felt her steps slow to a crawl. What was she even supposed to say to a girl who had been heading where Natalie had? What was she supposed to say to a goddess who had been going to a place where girls killed themselves? At least OI was new and nobody had been given a chance to try. But that was the only consolation Haley could find. Unsure what to say, Haley simply used the one word most relevant to the situation. "Natalie?" She said timidly. "You came, I knew you would." Natalie replied. "Yes, I, um, I came to talk." Haley continued, "You do still want to talk, right?" "No, talking won't change anything." "That's fine too. Is there anything you do want?" "There is one thing..." "Yes?" "Die!" Natalie rocketed from her position on the ground. As she moved her outfit transformed from its usual trendy self into a much stranger costume. A pair of pale green sashes crossed her chest, combining around her waist and then immediately splitting again at her thighs into a multitude of separate cuttings which flowed smoothly around her legs. Her glasses disappeared, revealing her piercing lavender eyes. Her arms and legs were covered fully in a lacy design which matched its color to her eyes. The nails on her right, for both her hands and now-bare feet, were colored in a pale green that was almost white, while the left was yet more lavender. She brought her hands together and thrust them forward towards Haley's chest. As she did so, a sword of pure ice formed within them. Haley's eyes widened with shock and fear as the frigid blade struck straight through her heart. She had a mere moment to think that her life would end before her body went limp. Natalie withdrew her sword from the girl's body, its shining blade somehow completely devoid of the blood which now spilled onto the floor. "I have seen what is to come." She said menacingly, yet with a hint of pain, "There is no point to life. The only logical conclusion is thus: Everything living should die." The Eye of Hope - Nameless Hallway of Doom Moments after Natalie's blade pierced Haley's chest, Arturia felt a pair of hands grab her shoulders from behind. Navy blue hair crept into the edge of her vision. And a pair of lips began to whisper soothingly into her ear left ear. "Her soul is not yet gone." The Eye whispered, "You still have a chance to save her if you like. Simply say the following chant and her life will be in your hands. But do hurry, Nayru will turn on you once she realizes you're here. "By the light of your heart By the strength of my trust With the raging fury of the believers And for the salvation of all humanity Bestow upon me your strength That I might bring light to the world" As soon as she finished whispering the words, Riley closed her lips over the edge of Arturia's ear, biting down just ever so slightly. A sadistic giggle escaped her throat, as though she were enjoying the horrific scene playing out before her.
  9. Hihi. Is Lexi So, I got Starbound up around Christmastime, but I hasn't played it much because it feels painfully grindy. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to reduce the grind Other than that it's a really fun game and if you don't mind grinding a bit early on I would go ahead and recommend it. Feel free to make with the talkings about whatever Starbound stuff here ^^
  10. Adam vs. Strider Adam looked at his opponent in confusion. She was taking up a defensive stance already? That was just asking him to play aggressively and force her into a position that would let him trigger his signature again. Either she had no clue what had just happened, or she had something up her sleeve. Considering he'd had the advantage thus far, he wanted to believe it was the former, but nobody on this level was that stupid. Obviously something was up, but he had no way to test the waters except to play along. Shrugging inside the cockpit, he charge forward. He took the shotgun blast at a slight angle, preventing it from dealing its maximum damage, but still enough to thin out his armor slightly. No big deal, just a scratch. Perhaps she thought the shotgun blast would do more damage than that? If that was her gamble then she was sorely mistaken. Now confident she had no real plan, Adam pushed himself to maximum speed and charged at her, intending to knock her over or back and trigger his signature again. But when he made contact something strange happened. A bright green flash initiated, knocking Adam backwards. Confusion swept his features and even became apparent in his landing, which was quite sloppy for a sphere. Obviously Strider did have something up her sleeve, and he had fallen for it. she wasn't an armor mech, but she did have a defensive special ability, that must have been it. Obviously simply ramming her wouldn't work, but he was too wary to try the blade just yet. It seemed he would simply have to wait and see what Strider tried to do next (OOC: I figure it's alright if I hit you when you're shielding, if it's not I can change it. Ramming her without the blades won't do all that much damage, it's more intended for just pushing the opponent around, which is why he ricocheted off)
  11. That's about what I expect most people to be like TL;DR You has waifus, you just don't like the term due to the possibility of it being associated with She's Real to Me waifuism. I won't deny that the term can carry the connotations of romantic or sexual interest. But most people outside of the Weeaboo Trash category and some of the Disgusting Perverts category will understand that waifu can simply refer to liking a character or sharing an emotional attachment with them. I don't think you should feel so worried about using the term, people who are going to find the negative in its use will find the negative in your attachment to certain characters even without you using it But to each their own. If it makes you uncomfortable to refer to characters you've become attached to as waifus, then don't refer to them as waifus Actually I have like zero free time and should probably have done school things instead of writing all this That sounds pretty much like straightforward Character Attachment waifuism Oh, uh, whoops... TBH, even if you weren't trolling I'd find nothing particularly wrong with it. It would be a bit strange to me as it seems like you're pushing your own wants onto the characters, particularly in claiming that they're all okay with it; I would not be surprised if not all of them have personalities that would be okay with it. And doing that in my mind defeats the point of She's Real waifuism, as it's destroying her realism and turning her into something you can manipulate for your own interests. Then again, perhaps to get to that level of waifuist to have a harem of real waifus, you would have to be more interested in self-fulfillment than the characters themselves At that level of obsession, is it really about the target of your obsessions, or yourself? #theDarkSideoftheWaifu
  12. Yes. Since Riv is an Adept it's going to conveniently work out Yes holy crap I didn't even notice I derped XD
  13. Note to self: Be careful what you tag with

  14. Well, that's one of the possible definitions of waifu. It doesn't really have a set definition, which is what this thread is about Also, dakimakura aren't necessarily a sexual thing. Their primary, or at least original, use is as a comfort item for children. Like a teddy bear. That's not to say they can't be used sexually, just that they shouldn't necessarily be considered a sexual item by default. Personally I'd like one myself, having a large pillow to cuddle would significantly improve my sleeping. Having a cute picture (note: pointedly not a sexual one, that would ruin her image for me :c ) of Jing Wei on it would just be a bonus Yeah, I feel I could have worded things a bit better. I actually expect things to be a spectrum. The categories are more like points to be able to find where people are across the spectrum of waifuism
  15. Lilith - Dorm Room A Lilith started to pull away from Esyllt, but the older girl wrapped her arms around her before she could escape. She gasped in surprise. She had been expecting admonishment or rage, but instead she had received something she had never been given before: A hug. It felt so warm, so warm and so strange. She leaned into it as Esyllt started singing. She ignored the words, simply listening to the hum of Esyllt's voice. As she listened, a pair of words popped into her head. Hope Vine. Lilith didn't know what it meant, and yet she did. "Hope Vine." She mumbled. Her mind was grasping for something, trying to tell her what to say. She nearly collapsed into madness again, but the warmth of Esyllt's arms and the sound of her voice held Lilith's fragile sanity together. And then she began to sing herself. She sang a strange chant in a language that could not be understood by any woman alive. A chant spoken in a language older than the world itself. The words were the purest melding of power and knowledge, a command to activate spoken using concepts rather than sounds. The dialect of the goddesses, one even older than the holy books of the Kallistles or the history documents of the Nayrists. It meant nothing, and yet meant everything "In the raging light of hope With the flow of chance Through unleashing the rapids on the word And the unwillingness to surrender I lend you my power That you may free yourself" As Layla's soft chanting ended, Esyllt's feet began to sparkle white. (OOC: Cue transformation sequence. Updated rules are in the OOC thread)
  16. (Psst, waifu can apply outside animation, so that's why it's here and not in the animation forum) *Toots horn* So, there's this interesting little phenomenon initially spawned by the Japanese(?) anime community known as the "waifu." It's a highly controversial topic as to what a waifu is and how far one should be willing to take the concept. There's a few different general ways of looking at this topic. Here's how I like to categorize them (note: I'll be talking in waifu terms, but it can still be applied to husbandos or non-bina...ryus?) Pro-Waifu Categories She's Real to Me Actually considers themselves to be in love with their waifu Will get defensive over their waifu Less likely to have a waifu harem, or at least they won't put other waifus on the same level as their main one Character Attachment Waifu simply refers to characters that they enjoy or connect with on an emotional level May desperately wish their waifu was real, but does comprehend that they aren't Will defend their waifu choices, but not as obsessively as the above Harem almost assuredly guaranteed, but not a requirement For the Lulz Largely could care less about their waifu Waifu is simply a silly term to refer to a character they like for one reason or another Will likely get distracted and switch waifus easily Never has a proper waifu harem, not serious enough to bother remembering But She has Bewbs People who gauge waifus primarily on a sexual level Can overlap with the other categories, but generally won't Fetishists Refers to those who have taboo fetishes or things that only exist in fantasy (lolicons, siscons, whatever you call people who are into catgirls, etc) And can only find hope in waifus Doesn't have to be sexual. May even be closer to a platonic attachment when it comes to fantasy creatures Can overlap very easily with other categories Anti-Waifu Categories Not My Thing People who don't have waifus because they just don't really take an interest in the concept Could really care less about your waifu but doesn't mind that you have them Weeaboo Trash Assume that anyone with a waifu is a "weeaboo." Which if they use the generic, "anyone who likes anything related to japan" definition of weeaboo, is probably true They might think you're weird, but probably didn't take the time to understand in the first place May occasionally actually know what weeaboo means and think you are one. In which case they're probably against you, not your waifu Disgusting Perverts People who hate on waifus because they think being attracted to a 2D image is gross or stupid May or may not comprehend the different types of waifuism and the difference between attraction and enjoyment May only hate on certain types of waifuism May even have a waifu of their own, just not at one of the "weirder" levels So that's how I like to look at things. I have no issue with any of the pro-waifu categories. And while the Weeaboo Trash category annoys me, The Not My Thing category and the people of the Disgusting Perverts category that are at least okay with the lower levels of waifuism. I do get frustrated with those of the Disgusting Perverts category that simply think the concept of waifuism is stupid or gross, particularly when they haven't taken the time to understand the different ways it can express itself So, what is a waifu to you? And what limitations do you feel should be applied? Do you think someone who believes they're in love with their waifu to be disgusting? Are you in love with your waifu? Could you care less about what everyone else does? Do you feel waifus are purely superficial? Or could there be something more? Are waifus okay but fetishists gross? I personally began as a For the Lulz waifuist and have gradually grown to be more of a Character Attachment waifuist. And to be entirely truthful, lately I've encountered a case where I almost feel like a She's Real to Me waifuist which has me questioning the barriers between reality and fantasy (that's actually what spawned this thread, in case you were curious) With Hope, Lexi P.S. I'm particularly interested in hearing anti-waifu arguments, because I can't make them myself. DW, this thread is for disagreeing, not debating, so I won't jump on you over it ^^
  17. Hooray, home alone!

  18. Hooray, home alo- Wait, why do I still hear the TV?

  19. (OOC: Outfit rules. I'll be posting a revised version in the OOC later, but Riv and Sion will need it now) Sharp - Nightmare Sharp had indeed noticed the yellow herself, but chose to ignore it. She knew what it felt like to be outcast and had no wish to inflict that feeling upon others. And at this point it hardly mattered anyways, there were much more important matters at hand. Were it not for the flames that had launched from Sharp's own hands, she likely wouldn't have believed a word that Lexi spoke. She had already voiced her intent to stay, she didn't see why Lexi insisted on asking again. At the same time the goddess seemed very nervous, Sharp was beginning to wonder if perhaps the whole bit about them not being allowed to back out if she explained might have been made up. Or perhaps it wasn't, but Lexi didn't have the power to stop them. "Tell me, Miss Lexi--or should I refer to you as Lady Alexus--if I were to deny you my assistance right now, what would you do?" She asked. Alexus - Nightmare "Well, I suppose I'd have to start chanting again..." She said. "In the raging light of hope With the flow of chance Through the river of luck that is life And the unwillingness to surrender I lend you my power That you may find your path" This time the chant was spoken in a different language, the ancient Kallistle language in which holy books are written. As it finished, bright white and blue sparks began to travel up the length of Lexi's body. Her shoes transformed into sky blue ballet-like slippers. Ribbons sprouted from the tops of these and crisscrossed up her legs overtop tattoos of a bunch of randomly distributed acute angles colored in white. Her miniskirt changed into a much larger, multi-layered skirt; the top layer was white while the rest were light blue. The other end of the dress to which the skirt was a attached was a simple, white sleeveless top. This was worn over a light blue blouse. Lexi's arms were decorated with markings just like her legs, but were otherwise bare. Her fingernails were painted sky blue with white raindrops in the center. Her hair stayed mostly the same except for one of the strands of her braid turned sky blue. Finally, as thought to wrap up the transformation, a large white ribbon tied itself into a bow on her back. "And after I chanted, I would think about a raging storm of water." As she said this a storm of water did indeed form around Lexi but immediately died down, "However I prefer to ask nicely." "I was just curious." Sharp replied nonchalantly, "I hope it goes without saying that I still intend to assist you." "It does." Lexi said gratefully, "However because you said it, I will thank you by requesting that you refer to me as though we were equals. Simply calling me Lexi will do fine." Sharp visibly turned a few shades redder than normal at this comment. "Lexi, very well." She said. Done sorting things with Sharp, Lexi turned to Sion. Sion, the perfectly average Laylite girl. In all likelihood she had come from a family of those wretched cultists that dared to abuse Laya's name for their own gain. Lexi was loathe to think how they might have abused the poor girl. But Lexi decided to hold onto the hope that Sion was a true Laylite, one who seriously believed in Layla and not some poor girl who had been forced to follow a misguided cult. Although that likely meant her mother wasn't too happy with her choice of Line, so even then there's was no true happy ending. The Laylite cult made Lexi sad. "Sion, I can't be certain what powers lie dormant within you, but my best guess is that you are an Ice Pulse, and I'm really good at guessing. To unlock them, assuming I'm right, say this chant: By the soul of your being By the strength of my logic In a pulse of logic And for the salvation of all humanity Bestow upon me your strength That I may understand the world Don't worry too much about how weird it sounds, I promise it's better in ancient Kallistle. Although mostly they're just supposed to be easy to memorize, I'm unconvinced Nayru succeeded in that aspect of them." She left Sion to her own devices for the moment and switched her attention to her last companion, the ever-cheerful Riv. "And you... Uh, well you're probably a Light something or other. But I don't know what. We'll just go through in alphabetical order. By the light of your heart By the strength of my trust To manipulate every aspect of faith And for the salvation of all humanity Bestow upon me your strength That I may bring light to the world That's the chant for a Light Adept. If it doesn't work we'll just switch out the modifier line. By the time we get all the way to Vine you'll have the whole thing memorized and I can just tell you the lines. Um, but, with any luck--and I have lots--we won't get that far."
  20. No, only in the halls EDIT: BTW, any of the girl not with Lexi can sense the pressure if they want. Although it won't be as bad as it is for Lilith EDIT2: I sorted Lilith's dialogue into the proper order. It's still a demented rant, but it's a lot easier to understand which parts are connected to which when it's like this. But since it's easier it's also sort of spoilers, I recommend you only read this if you don't want to try to puzzle out what's happening for yourself ~~~~~~~ Alright, slightly updated version of old transformation rules post (this won't be in the OP so you may want to save the colors chart and the pattern that fits your modifier) For the most part you're free to do whatever with your outfit so long as the color motif makes sense with your character's element, Line of Belief, or physical design. However, you are required to have your class's pattern in the color of your modifier on both your arms and legs (this can generally be described as looking similar to a tattoo). Pulse, Eye, and Adept have unique rules. A Pulse has four rings on their arms, staring just behind the wrists and repeating at equal distances until the elbow, with no markings anywhere else. Eyes' arms only have three eyes each, all on the inside of their wrists, but their legs will be coated in them. And an Adept has no markings, instead their arms and legs should be almost completely covered In addition, when transformed your nails should be painted either in the color representing your element or a color representing your Line Elements and colors: An extremely well organized and consistent chart that definitely took more than three minutes to make And patterns:
  21. (OOC: Arya coming through in the clutch) Lilith - Dorm Room A Lilith held her hand closer to her chest and took another step back from Anna. Everyone watched her. Anna seemed unfazed, Esyllt seemed worried, and Arya was clearly suspicious again. Arya asked what happened, her words made it sound as much accusation as inquiry, and Layla couldn't find the words to respond. The air was just so heavy. This strange pressure around her threatened to suffocate her mind. She was quickly heading towards a state of shock and panic. She opened her mouth to try to speak, her lips and throat felt dry and didn't want to move; she practically had to force them open. "I'm sorry." She croaked, "I don't know why it happens. And there's this heaviness, this suffocating pressure, don't you feel it? Everything hurts, it hurts so much. Why does he hate me? What if Arya hates me too? The world, the world is dying. Hopelessness, blank eyes, fear. Fear, terror, fear, dread, fear, terror, fear, dread." Lilith clutched her head in pain as her speech devolved into utter gibberish. Her legs went limp and she fell to her knees. "No, mom, I don't want to, I don't want to. Don't make me go in there. The things they do to me, they hurt." They muttered incoherently, "The fire, the fire, the lovely white fire. Alex is being ripped apart. Eden's curse is coming. Left, right. Left, right. Everywhere, it's all around. No, mommy, don't put that in there! It hurts! The ashes, the ashes, the dying black ashes. Up, up, up, up, up. It's all going up. The power, fear the power. Take advantage of everything, take the power. Eden, Eden, Eden. Hate, hate, hate. The smoke, the smoke, the empty grey smoke. Mommy, why do you let them do this to me? Don't you love me, mommy? She's dead, she's dead, the heartless bitch is dead! The mack, fatherly love, do you love your father? Mommy, mommy, make them stop mommy. I don't like it when they put their hands there. Black and yellow, black and yellow. Fear and power, fear and power. What is power? FIRE FIRE FIRE." These last three words came as a screech of agony and were accompanied by a bolt of lightning shooting out of Lilth's back toward the rug, igniting the center of the yellow quarter Her mental breakdown more or less over, Lilith sat there on her knees, quivering. "Can't you feel the pressure?" She mumbled, "Eden's curse is coming." She didn't know what it meant, but somehow she knew it was important. Part of her mind kept whispering it to her, trying to get her to remember why it was important. But to do that, she would have to accept the power which frightened her so deeply. And even then, she would still be nearly as broken as she was now
