  1. Neville stands still with a solemn look on his face as he looks upon the thick steam that arise from the Crimson Knight's area. This humorless expression rarely comes to the cheerful young wizard but after he witnessed his spells gets easily countered with a single crack of a fiery whip. Maybe that's a signal for the wizard to stop fooling around and start to get serious in this fight. Especially when facing a formidable foe, who hasn't budged from his position and hasn't made a single offensive strike yet. "I think we manage to douse out a little bit of flame from him, either way, be on guard, I fear the worst is yet to come in this fight" Neville said to Gradun as he stays in position, still pointing his staff at the fog, prepared for what his unseen opponent is up to . Neville decided it's better to wait from where he stand and stay out of range of the Crimson Knight's fiery whip rather than to approach the dangerous vapor where the Crimson knight is hiding.
  2. Dammit, I've must have miss that lecture about the gods back in wizard school, I just freaking amplified this guy's flaming whip, I hope this minor setback won't bite us in the ass during this fight. Neville was clearly upset, grinding his teeth in frustration as his mentor mocks him. The young elven caster gains a flame orb despite his previous failed attempt to harm the crimson knight. As Gradun's song shifted, Neville's fiery temper and frustration towards his last action slowly disperse as soon as he heard the Victornari's lyrics. It was calm yet precise. It somehow soothes his soul and clears Neville's head at that moment. "No matter, Tis but minor setback.. I will purge this fire that I've created." The elven wizard combed back his silver hair and tries a different approach. Neville's eyes glow in a light- bluish manner, the cold and piercing kind. As if you can see the whole aurora reflected in his very eyes. ((winter's curse: on)) He emits a chilling aura beneath his feet, his complexion has gone even paler than usual while mustering his inner ice magic. "Ezeerf siht yug" with a swirl of his staff, Neville projects a ray of frost towards his crimson mentor. While the stream of ice travels in midair, it suddenly explodes into pieces; spawning and creating multiple heads of ice shards. These icy missiles continue to travel at an alarming rate, twisting and twirling with grace, like a group of dancing snakes racing towards its target. These multiple ice shards were all aimed at the Crimson Knight from all angles, hoping to freeze and immobilize his fiery mentor upon impact.
  3. "Why didn't you tell me you could play like that !?" Neville was quite surprised by the sudden improvement of Gradun's music as he steps forth, siding with his team in the battlefield. "I don't know what magical enchantment this is, but I like it! keep the rhythm going Gradun.. your music invigorates me, I can feel my arcane magic coursing through my veins with every strum you make." Neville released a playful smile as he felt a sudden rush in his magical fingertips, he was energized and ready to go, the feeling is almost too addictive for the elven wizard to handle, it feels like his magic is amplified at this moment. Neville's eyes glow in a fiery red manner, the tip of his staff combust and blaze into flames. The wizard thought he could test out what his crimson mentor his made off. Is he fireproof? maybe, considering he's a fire user. is he agile? maybe not, considering that heavy armor he is wearing. either way what's the harm in trying and confirming what kind of opponent they're facing. "Emalf Teprac" without warning, Neville yelled out as he pointed out his staff directly at his target, the elven wizard conjures and sends out a concentrated wave of flames at the direction of his mentor, A carpet of fire quickly rolls through the field as rush its way towards the crimson knight, trying to scorch and engulf the crimson man's metallic armor in flames.
  4. "should I believe what the sign says? I think it's a trick, Arggh..dammit Minos stop being so cryptic..how can I trust what the sign said if it said trust no one.. " Ixidor rapidly fuses his bleach hair to a mess, frustrated at the paradox warning sign given to him at the doorway. It appears another puzzling challenge was given to the painter boy once more. Irked and agitated, Ixidor takes multiple deep breaths to ease his anxiety and panic attack. "Ok calm down, Ixi. it's just a warning, don't let your dreams be dreams, stay focus. you've faced impossible challenges in the previous circle before, now it's time to step up, you're the sub cult leader of the gluttons for pete sake, creator of Kayle, the guardian angel of the second circle and pass the sentence given to you at the circle of greed with flying colors. Now the only thing to do now is exit this hellhole and make your parents proud on what you've accomplished. Yeah, that's right, there's nothing to worry about...It's all smooth sailing from here on out, it's the final circle after all, the light at the end of the tunnel perse. " Ixidor's child-like optimism and self-comforting thoughts motivates the boy in taking the first step towards the maze, unaware of the perils in entering this final circle. He went straight on, not knowing the path he was going.
  5. "I accept... " without hesitation, Neville eagerly said to the orc with a friendly smile, twirling his wooden staff like a baton. The wizard was confident enough to answer the call, knowing that he knows his way around the elements, which is an advantage to say the least. He knows the basic principle of each and was sure of himself that he can counter and deal with the crimson's man fiery whip, considering Neville is a wielder of the flames himself. That he can fight fire with fire when that happens.
  6. pretty accurate lol
  7. *Sniffs* Oh, i wish i have the time play my little summoner once more. oh well, best of luck in this project my friends. I'll be reading in from time to time if i ever get the chance.
  8. Neville feels a sharp pain his arm as soon as Varick release it. It feels like his bones will snap from that pressure if not released from the orc's grip. Clearly the orc is unamused by Neville's straight forward thoughts towards Gradun's trumpet. "Aww.. you made me miss. I wasn't planning to electrocute him ya know, it was just a simple disarming spell. He might feel a slight sting from the shock. but is nowhere close as you nearly crush my arm." Neville continues to rub his arm to ease the pain as he takes a step back.
  9. Neville briefly turns his attention towards his Crimson mentor with a dumfounded look on his face as the victornari reach for his instrument once more. Not again. the wizard thought to himself. Neville remembers quite well how Gradun's trumpeting skills goes back at the hall and listening to it again is not what he had in mind. Neville's tolerance can only take so much. "I remember you now, but I think I have enough of your entertainment for one day.." Neville said to Gradun and mumbles an incantation. "gnimrasid gninhtgil" The wizard's finger crackles with static electricity as he aims and quickly shoots directly towards the trumpet, "ZZZZZSSTT!" Neville always shoots first. A weak lightning bolt flew across the room as it tries to disarm Gradun's trumpet before he could reach and play his unique god given sound.
  10. Neville scratch his head and was baffled as soon as the wizard saw their last member makes its way inside the crimson keep. To his surprise, it was that unique trumpet playing lizard-man. Neville's thoughts about Gradun's music was pretty neutral actually, It wasn't that bad to say the least. his singing voice balance out his instrument playing skills. It was somewhere between chaotic and pleasant to the caster's ears. "You there, guy playing the lute" Neville called out as he tries get the Victornari's attention. "I appreciate the entertainment and all, but you seem to be lost, who are you and what are you doing here, musician?" the wizard asked just to make sure that this singing victornari didn't find this place by accident.
  11. Something tells me our mentor knows what he is doing when it comes to strategy, even I have a hard time figuring out what to do in a situation like that. Neville's eyes widen as he observes the crimson man work his way around the broad and infiltrates Varick's thick line of defense and somehow got to the orc's king. Neville stands up with the use his staff as soon as the match come to an end and added his opinion to missing member of their group. "Our third member... I have no clue really. You don't suppose someone decided to take pre-emptive action before the Clash?" "that.. or perhaps our third member has back out and gladly accept his or her fate as a dead soul..." Neville jokingly added.
  12. "You're a quick thinker I'll give you that. It seems you have bested me, not everyone is quick witted to counter a pressured rush attack, perhaps I should change my playstyle the next time we met. ." Neville ponders and leans back on his chair, still in disbelief that he lost despite he almost clear out the CK's powerful pieces. He deeply looks at the chess broad and notice where he went wrong. He was defenseless, His king was unprotected and cornered while he was too busy engaging an all out attack against his opponent's units. the wizard chuckled softly as he realized his error. Neville simply stands up and walk towards Varick, giving him a tip as the orc's request. "yeah just one, don't make the same mistake as I did, repetition of an offensive strategy is bound to fail against this guy, this guy probably invented chess for all i know.. he simply has an answer to everything i throw at him." Neville shrugs as distance himself and observes the match.
  13. "very well," Neville said as he stretches out his arms and cracks his fingers. the wizard produced a minimum amount of electricity in his fingers as he levitates and moves the pawn with style, Making space for his white bishop to attack. Neville's plan is simple really: pure offense just like his spells and destroy the pieces that are protecting the CK's king. Neville's strategy is risky and readable like an open book, yet can be dangerous if not prevented by his opponent.
  14. Neville smirk at the Varick's remarks as he takes his place, not sure if it's cheer of encouragement or the orc just wants to see the cocky wizard to fail so hard on his face. Actually Nevile has a plan, to eliminate the most versatile piece there is: that is the Queen from the early start. from there on all the pieces are easy pickings, if he plays his cards right. "So shall we begin? I'll take the black piece, seeing this is your house after all." Neville said to his crimson mentor.
  15. Neville ponders and stares blankly at Varick for a moment, wondering why the Orc stepped out of the chair. Like it was some sort of a hint for the wizard, like a message saying that Neville shouldn't rely on his luck in making tough decisions, especially when facing an experienced opponent such as the crimson man in this contest of wits. Something tells me that I should be more cautious in facing this man, that I should use my noodle and have a strategic plan in order to succeed. Luckily for me, i have a plan right even this match even started, that is: not to lose miserably in this man's own game. "If Varick doesn't object, I would gladly accept the challenge and be your first opponent." Neville said to the man.
  16. "Sure, I'm up for the challenge... I mean it's just a game, right? besides, it's not that complicated as you think Varick, the objective is simple really.. take out their king before your opponent takes out yours." Neville snobbishly answered like a know it all as he shrugs and looks at both men in the room. Neville is pretty confident in taking the Crimson man in this the game of wits. The wizard knows at back his mind that he wasn't the most strategic man there is, but he wasn't the dumbest one either. Neviile can think, but his impatient nature clouds him from doing something tactical.
  17. lol i like the fact that the other rooms are getting rowdy yet the crimson keep is somehow quiet and still talking about chess pieces.
  18. "Sorry to hear that. Typical knights, they are not that reliable these days. now if it was a wizard it would be a different story." Neville released a playful smile as he sprung up by the use of his staff and momentarily observes the man at work with this strange tools, before speaking again. "as for your question, it seems i'm the first one to arrive here, The names Neville, Neville Frostburn. and i believe you're my mentor? yes?" Neville said to the calm crimson man. "You must really love chess seeing you putting so much effort in your pieces" Nevile walks back and forth as he observes the seated man. "so what's the problem with that knight by the way? it looks fine to me." Neville asked.
  19. "Woah!" a simple word comes out from Neville's lips as he gazed upon the stained glass from the moment he stepped foot inside the Crimson Keep. It seems Neville can't keep his eyes off the glossy glass art as he continues to look up, eyes set on it and doesn't seem to care where he is going while walking through the blood-colored halls. Neville seems like a kid in awe as he imagined himself being like the portrayed knight in the glass. Neville walks towards the heroic portrait and has his eyes was set on center. from there, he squint his eyes and spotted a busy crimson-colored armored man beneath it, sitting on a throne while what seems to be playing a game of chess all by himself. "Ah, the game of chess, a game of wits where every decision you make has consequences, where the kings sacrifice his whole kingdom for the sake of his own safety..." Neville said to the armored man while approaching the table. "So what seems to be the problem?what exactly are we looking at here? maybe i can help." Neville asked the man as he crouches, levelling his head on the chess board. Eyeing the chess pieces with his wondering eyes, trying to figure out what's this guys fiddling about in this board.
  20. am i expecting an interaction soon? cuz Neville did enter the crimson door on my last post. forgot to mention the color tho.
  21. Neville remained seated in his chair as he anxiously taps his fingers on his armchair and waited for the whole ceremony to finish. He seems a little bored after the magic goblet finished sorting out the teams. You can tell by the way was seated in his chair as he watched the other participants went straight for the exit the moment their names was called. The names who are mention are still unfamiliar to Neville. All he knows is, other than this 'Varick' or 'Gradun' fellow, the other names mentioned are just mere targets for the wizard to incinerate, electrocute, or freeze to death when the time comes. A list of people for the elementalist to cross out. Asides from that, Neville never did question himself why he ended up in the 'Spirit' department either, not that it bothers him or anything. He is just the type of guy that goes with the flow of things. I'm sure I was put there for a reason, and in time maybe I will find the answer. but for now let's have some fun. time to find out who is my mystery mentor. Neville can't help but to smile in excitement. Neville bolted out his chair and has seen enough. The mage rests his staff between his right arm as he walks straight for the doors like the others did.
  22. I'm sensing a pattern here, after seeing Gradun and Neville are on the same team, my guess is it's that it's based on the personality of the characters...both of them are high-spirited and always looking for excitement .that's why they end up in the Spirit goblet. same goes as the Cyan team (Debronee and Mathew) both of them are silent thinkers and observers, that why they ended up in the mind goblet. haven't come out with some BS speculation about the knowledge and body yet.
