  1. Hey, this is something I've been wondering about for a while now... the concept of STAB doesn't exist/ have any effect here, does it? Also, would Hidden Power Ground/ Ground type projectile moves like Mud Shot, Mud bomb, etc have an effect on flying types? I know we already talked about Bonemerang being able to hit them and everything...
  2. Lols, I was actually considering using it for one of mareek's fight themes... for moments when he just goes "Fuck this shit" and decides to stop toying around and wrap things up... anyways, I wouldn't mind mareek getting dragged along for the gym thing since I honestly intend to end his time in the forest in my next post with him finding what's left of Brienne's mangled body.
  3. Mareek They'd pressed a little further in by the time he gave the signal to stop. Far enough from campus that nothing they'd be practicing would likely to be seen by eavesdroppers, yet close enough to where the trip back wouldn't take more than a couple minutes at most... running away at top speed, that is. Their training ground for the time being was nothing more than a small clearing mostly devoid of any vegetation aside from a few stray strands of grasses that had been to stubborn to give into starvation and die from the darkness cast by the tall oaks encircling their home. All things considered, Mareek felt it better to practice in the mock darkness; for Nemo would be able to see Java's instrcutions with the lightning far better than if they were to begin in unbridled daylight. Speaking of which... "Java," The boy said, turning his eyes away from the dense canopy overhead and onto the two partners. "Has he agreed to it?" "Indeed he has..." The strategist responded. Mareek could hear the lace of "I told you so" as he went on however. "In fact... he's eager, learning quicker than I expected..." Nemo Nemo nodded at the Normal types evalutation, holding out a palm before his trainer and concentrating with all his tiny mental might. It had been difficult on the first couple dozen of tries during the walk, but now he was finally starting to understand Java's teachings a bit better. It wasn't much different from how he called up Ancient Power to be honest- Both conjuring up that energy, and the electricity to wield into thunder punch- they both required a clear idea of what he wanted to do- visualization and conviction. He had to focus, concentrate... see the power gathering at his finger tips, pull it in closer and make it greater...imagine the scent of the burning ozone, the tingle of the current, the... a small, golden glow began to emanate in his fist. a crack and a pop, a snap. A bit of that strange scent began to rise as a few precious sparks leaped and streaked around his arm. Java had truly been 100% right about it. It was all just a thing of mind over matter. Even though it was a bit dim compared to his lightning-mentor's capabilities, and the surges small... he had still done it. He had still conjured thunder, even if it currently would probably do nothing more than paralyze a foe like Thunder Wave, he had still learned the secret to it. "Well... you proved me wrong then, Java," Mareek said, nodding at the orphan as he killed the sparks, then called them back, and killed them again... "You two keep working on it then. Afterwards we'll do some work for ancient power." Both the Strategist and the Swordsman nodded, and with another glow of discharge, Java returned to his role of instructor, and Nemo as the apprentice. Sebastian So... that was how they worked, was it? This boy was their commander of sorts, and they nothing more than mere followers? No... it could not be this way- mayhaps for the Cubone and Computer entity, but the Scyther, it was impossible for it to be the same case... her feeling was too senior, too protective- and yet she did not domineer over the other three beings. She let the boy do it... why? A crack, the sound of something cursing under their... no, her, breath. Sebastian turned about slowly, eyes blazing those eery teal as he homed in on the being foolish enough to eavesdrop on him eavesdropping. Blur fur, black mask, small stature, crimson eyes... A Riolu. fighting type... perfect, at least this pest would be easy to handle. Sebastian moved himself closer, the fighting type backed away. He could only imagine what she might be sensing right now. Perhaps she was scared. Perhaps she was going to fight. Perhaps she was pissing herself as she picked up on all the things he was thinking of doing to her. Snapped neck, crushed organsd, force choke, break the back... perhaps impalement. Yes, there much he could do with telekinesis... oh so much. But... he had work to do. Time was not a readily available commodity, and the less he wasted on this little aura-sensitve, spying bitch here, the more time he would have to watch the boy. That left but one course- cut off the head, and let nature take it's course. "You should've hid in the shade...jackal" He communicated into his victims mind, the air rippling and blurring in shimmers as pure telekinetic force began to congeal and solidify...
  4. While that does sound interesting- I'm honestly just pulling out Sebastian for Mareek this one time because it would help set up Brienne's character if she were to nearly get killed, and then be saved by of all things... a human. Aside from this instance, Sebastian is going to be acting more as Galen's Villain overall, won't really come much into play again until a bit later on during later visits Galen makes to the lake... when the psycho has fully evolved and starts talking to him using telepathy and mentioning having stalked him multiple times and wanting to tear his brother and all his little party members apart. Yeah... he won't be around for much longer after he starts saying shit like that... cause Galen won't settle just for just toying with his head using illusions. EDIT: God fucking damn it- I'm doing it again!! leaping forward blindly... god damn it... alright, screw it, forget I said any of this, for now, I'm just going to focus on having a certain riolu getting beaten by an asshole of a psychic type. one thing at a time, faust, slow down... one thing...
  5. I know. hence why the incentive to listen will not be because of any weapon the human race may posses. It all comebacks to an outbreak... and those few who survived...
  6. I don;t know about plasma swords... pushes things a bit too far. but the fact of more advanced technology being present was already a given factor, so... plus, a plasma sword... versus anything of ESP nomenclature (Psychic types)? Yeah, that's some big incentive for them to listen, just take it right out of ya hands with their minds, maybe cut ya in two with ya own weapon... That's really not a good deterrent. I've already got something in mind for why they listen/ are willing to cooperate to a degree.
  7. So... don't know what the hell I'm doing with sebastian to be honest, so I figured... why not use him for the Brienne Encounter? Why, if she were to get in his way and get murdered severely injured, only to be found and saved from dying slowly and painfully by Mareek and co. afterwards... definitely helps with the whole theme of "Are all men truly evil?" and her struggle trying to answer that question... though I might have to kill sebastian... lols, either way, he dies, I know I said I wasn't gonna do it, but that was when it pertained to one of team getting offed. those wings of Azelstan will be put to good use one day...how thick is that psychic's neck, i wonder... Yeah, for some reason I can't explain, I find myself keep coming back to killing the Gothitelle XD
  8. Mareek Mareek didn't bother opening his mouth as he turned and left the field himself after collecting Java- in all honesty there was nothing to say anyway. "Well look at that, I say that I don't care about this damn tournament, and yet here I am... actually feeling disappointed about how that all went just now, like it ended too quickly, was too damn easy... go figure" "Here, take these." He said, sending out the program yet again once he had reached the front lobby of the building, Eye's fixed on the forest in the distance despite the waning light. Java gave no response as he accepted the two Sitrus berries offered to him, both of the tiny fruits disappearing from existence the moment he plucked them up with Psybeam. Regardless of what had happened to them though, he looked a bit better for wear... and satisfied with himself. "Don't look so smug..." The boy said, knowing full well he'd caught the normal type going over the fight. "If you want to face them, you still have another battle before you can. That and you have to keep your word about teaching Nemo..." He stared back out over the distant greenery, muttering "Not that I think it'll make much difference against a damn lapras..." "I heard that." toned in his ear as Java hovered closer. "Watch me teach him- I garuntee he'll have it by sunrise...at the very most." Mareek grimaced at that estimate. If they took that fucking long getting it done, that would defeat the whole damn purpose if Nemo was sleep deprived...something Java himself should've realized. "How long exactly do you theorize it would take to teach him, exactly? Just as an average time, not the highest possible extreme." "It honestly depends on him- could be a few minutes, an hour... two, three. all of it depends on how much he wants to listen and try more than anything I'd be doing for the instruction." "..." "So..." "Nemo." the Cubone emerged in a flash of white, looking around at the trainer and his co-hort curiously. He got no answer as to what was going on though... only the sight of Mareek walking through the doors and heading outside. "We're going to the forest for a while. It's best if we make sure no one sees it. Element of surprise and all that crap..." Even as he said the words he produced Erce's Capsule from his jacket, sending her out as well and explaining something to her from what the Orphan could tell. Java gave the boy the rundown of what was going on as they both followed the red head and the mantis, charging a bit of electricity to show him what he meant as they neared the wood line. Sebastian Hmmm... this boy here was another anomaly, second one he'd seen that day- or ever, for that matter. There was something black and deadly in this child's heart... something venomous, all-consuming, all-corrupting. Something just lurking beneath the surface, always just growing more and more, slowly over time. Sebastian knew not where such a power- could it be called power? perhaps in a way, yes, the hate could be called power- might have come from, or have been born... but he saw bonds with this red head, just as he'd seen bonds with the garderner- they seemed like strong ties, some of them... some of them were new though, still budding in their infancy. But of all the bonds Sebastian saw, there were two who claimed the position as the strongest... one burning with it's own light, strong, fierce, a sense of attachment flowing from it like nothing Sebastian had sensed before outside of a mother's bond to her own child... but what surprised the Gothorita, was that... the one on the other end of this bond... she was not human. Not human at all. How puzzling. And then... there was the other bond. It felt familiar for some reason, oh so familiar, like he had sensed one end of it not to long ago... perhaps even in the same day. But no... no, Sebastian was being foolish, this bond... it could not be connected to the Gardener, it made no sense- for the only tie that man had possessed that could equal this one he felt from the boy, was bathing him in light. And yet the only thing he could flow flowing through this boy's end was thoughts and feelings that could easily rival anything conjured up in a dark pulse, if not surpass it. No... it could not be the Gardener on the other end. The desire for blood, the drive for retribution, the fear... the desire for power, power to do one thing, and one thing only. It made no sense why one end of the bond would have such a different tone from the other. No... it simply could not be the black haired man. But who then? WHO? who could cause such anamolly? and what of the other bond...? why was the female on the end of it... why was she not human? Why was she this... mantis walking beside the boy? Surely for him to be any child of hers... ludicrous. But no matter. yes, Sebastian knew what he would do. He would shadow them. He would study them. He would learn their cause. without a single sound, the psychic made off further into the woods... knowing full well where his targets were all the while, staying a single step ahead... or more like five... or ten... or twenty.
  9. Like I said, I'll finish the type on my own... since it kinda flopped as a community effort and only two people really worked on it after a certain someone went missing. As for the leveling system and or merit of it's abolishment, that is something I will also be addressing in the rewrite- as well as why the hell a GAOW would even take orders from a human in the first place without tearing out their belly guts and chowing down on them instead... Also, I have already renamed every type to something either with an appropiate Greek/ Latin Root or a more official sounding word. EX: Fire is Pyro, Water=Hydro, Grass=Chloro...etc. Hmmm... one alternative to the level system could be one dependent on the base stat total of the species, the age of the individual, and the amount of training it has (could be measured in tiers or such, like the battle intensity was)
  10. Lols... if there was anything Java would shout for his "Calling the Attack" phrase, it would probably be something along the lines of asking if the enemy liked listening to the radio in the bath tub... some dark shit right there if you think about it long enough. but then again, dem porygon Z's be crazy anyway... EDIT: And on second thought- screw the scolding, I'll either have it happen later or just forget about it anyway- time to get out of there... no time to waste. Also, Lance killed a man with Hyper Beam if I recall correctly XD though, the guy was scum helping rocket, so...
  11. Hyper Beam, Round, and Snore are the only other ones anything in the porygon line has access to in terms of stab special moves. Hyper Beam is far more overkill than the Storm Cannon Thing ever could be, period. It's so overkill, you gotta rest for a while before you can even recover from the shock of how overkill that thing you just did was. Round, I just don't care for it. And Snore... WHY? So yeah, I'm just gonna go with the same theme for him as I have for Galen's Electivire... as a tribute to the discovery made during the battle against Jacob in chapter 2.
  12. Yes... someday when Java has learned how to turn his hate and anger into a weapon... disregard that above statement. Editing is done. And I'm honestly just gonna leave Tri-Attack alone altogether in the future (It's not one of the planned moves in Java's final set anyway...) to cut out the confusion with it and whatnot. honestly aside from the electricity thing, the only purpose it even serves is a main STAB move
  13. Eh, I'll edit it for just a discharge anyway. That way the scolding from his mother will be shorter and he can get outside of the stadium much quicker than if he had to sit there and listen to a lecture...
  14. This. something similiar regarding Tri-Attack and it's realtionship came up in the past during the battle between Slade and Mareek during the second day of the semester back in chapter 1. That dang magnemite was deflecting/ redirecting every Tri Attack Java launched with some mumbo jumbo about electricity or some shit like that allowed it to change the path of the attack. though looking back on it right now- I can honestly understand if the logic about it is pure horse shit though, even though I more or less said nothing about it back when it was first an issue. I'll edit the post to just have a discharge be fired off instead of a combo (so that Azery won't have to do any changes.)
  15. Honestly the attack was given more out of underlying frustration... but yeah, it kinda was, I admit XD I was gonna just go with a psybeam, but... yeah, Mareek=/= the kindest person when it comes to fighting... And of course, Alexandra is gonna tell (more like Scold) him about what he did during the match too...
  16. aaaaaannd the final blow's up. and I love discharge... so damn much. all the aweful, aweful things I can do with it Maybe a bit of surge rubbed off on me, eh?
  17. Mareek v James "Take it... we're ending this- NOW." Mareek ordered, arms crossed as he gazed across the open battlefield, watching as the wintry storm of wind froze more and more ground like some creeping wraith stealing life from the land, leaving in it's wake naught but desolation and a hellish chill. Java nodded, holding his ground firm as the gale closed in and swept over him... simply hovered there, throughout the whole experience, eyes braced against the turbulence, though the eery feeling of the ominous wind boosting the storm had no effect on his soul. Might as well finish it with something big... Even though the cold dampened his reflexes a bit, made him shiver... Java still stared at Shade and his trainer across the field. "Take aim and ready!" Mareek commanded, honestly done with this fight as a whole. Java again nodded, his entire being beginning to heat up as his body blazed an oh so familiar golden and his eyes flared their near demonic scarlet, Shade's body becoming engulfed with an oh so similar light before fading. again there came the snap and pop of electricity, the burning of ozone that hung in the air like the stench of death itself as Java's ability kicked in...yet again. "Fire!" and like a storm, the sky fire burst in every direction, setting the entire field aglow as the golden, writhing tendrils snaked their way through the air, heading right for... Shade.
  18. Actually, java would still technically be yet to attain his final evolution stage until about somewhere in the 40s or so. But his evolution to a porygon z is honestly going to depend more on events in the story at the time to be honest. Now... to decide when to evolve Erce...
  19. Lols, forgot Feint Attack was a never miss move for a minute there... fixed it though. And now the boy's gettin serious...
  20. Mareek v. James Java again had no hesitation, hovering backwards as quickly as possible as soon as Shade's presence blared closer on his mental radar, as obvious as the north star in the black heavens on a winter's eve- effectively maneuvering himself safely out of the path of the bone chilling gale , though he noticeably scowled at being struck by the body check following it- he was far from finished with this. Again he stared at the specter...hovering away. though this time there was a glint of amusement in his eyes. "That was better... but still not enough." Mareek said, face like stone as his eyes surveyed the scene. This was honestly beginning to bother him a bit, how this opponent seemed so intent on using the same basic strategy when it should've been obvious that it wouldn't work... Oh well, looks like this fight won't be as interesting as the one with Lana... "Psionic Chill." I'm done playing around, time to finish the mouse. Java reacted to the order immediately, a small, multicolored sphere forming before him, growing larger with each second as his ability kicked in yet again, the sphere blazing so bright it was nearly blinding. Then all at once, the Sphere burst apart with a whistle and shriek similar to a wind storm and the gale came, bone chilling, merciless, blue glints of frost and ice taking on a rainbow hue and intensifying as the analytic boosted telekinetic force the Strategist built up propelled it harder, farther, howling and screaming as it surged straight for Shade ((Anayltic Psybeam + Icy Wind))
  21. Well.. at least you're using the right move now. But you're using it at the wrong time. Mareek didn't say "You wasted an opportunity" for nothing... when Java's locked on, he gets in the zone... when it fades after he fires an attack though... Lols, I'm literally going out of my way to drop hints with the narration and dialogue... XD
  22. Starting over completely huh? Well, since we have lost a few folks to thin air... it probably would make it easier to say screw it and start new... Also, the suggestion with the squad is one of the things I'm very likely going to address while re-writing everything. I don't quite know for sure exactly what's going to happen, but depending on what I find out from trying to study up a bit on military organization, I might just organize it all into platoons (Which have like, 15-30 total and have two squads... and are led by a Lt. in most scenatios )
  23. So Azery, found us... something I guess it fits alright enough for the situation... given that you seem to be in the midst of some set up for a plan but, that could easily just be me misinterpreting an attempt to run and hide... Either way, it's better than nothing... EDIT: and where the hell is everyone getting these Pokeball Seals from? Not like it matters to Mareek though- he sees them as pointless XD. The only way his mons get special effects is if he orders them to use certain tactics right as soon as they get out of the capsule...
  24. You can re-use the same character, I see no issue with that. Though, they would more or less be in the same state as they were at the beginning of this RP. Hence why I described it like New Game+. You can start with the same PC, but it's all back to square one for them. for those who wish to obtain the same party members, I could likely set up certain encounters early on in the story to allow for you to catch the same species you had in your party (at the most appropiate evo stage for the time though) I figure doing it like this will be fair to everyone, both new players and old. you guys would more or less just already have your PCs and parties already planned out in advance and would be able to easily obtain them. New players... really wouldn't be at a disadvantage- they would just have to come up with their own OCs from scratch and figure out their party as they go along. ((Keep in mind though, since it will be a bit more... yeah, apocalyptic and everything overall, with many nations fallen, you might have to re-write the backstories a little bit to better fit the premise...))
  25. @everyone involved in surge story: how many of you would be interested in a Re-write of the story? I kinda wanna do some things with this world like flesh it out far more and chuck away the script I've been following so far. further details are in the OOC.
