    A while back, there was a topic about which fictional character best represents you. I like that sort of thread, so I thought I'd make one about which fictional character you most look up to. The rules are simple. You can choose any character from any medium of fiction. Just not characters who are or were real life people. Feel free to explain or not explain your choice as you please. Oh, and be sure to tag your spoilers. --- For me, this matter should be simple. I've already spoken about it on these forums a little, so I doubt it will come as a surprise. That said, ALL HAIL LELOU- Huh? What's wrong Lelouch? Don't you want-? ALL HAIL HARUHI SUZUMIYA, BRIGADE CHIEF OF THE SOS BRIGADE! Yes. Out of all the characters there are in fiction, I admire the selfish, eccentric, hyperactive and occasionally borderline sociopathic Haruhi Suzumiya more than any other. And I imagine it's not so hard to see why. No matter how others view her, despite being universally labeled as crazy, Haruhi chases her dreams. Dreams that most people would brand as impossible. She doesn't just want the world to be a more interesting place than it seems to be at a glance; she demands it, and somehow, she has a way of getting what she wants. I can only wish I could match her fearless determination to make the world around her fun - and to be so thoroughly herself in the process. She finds ways to keep her life not just interesting, but mind-blowing, virtually every day of her life. She's not afraid to try things she's never done before. She's the polar opposite of the dull, suppressed husks this world tries so hard to mold her to be. And that is why I look up to her more than anyone other character in fiction.

      Try doing an interesting thing instead of four boring things. I'm more entertained when I'm 100% focused on something (in my case usually programming) than when I'm doing many things at the same time

      Multi-tasking splits attention and joy between all tasks while one specific task usually keeps you interested. Also, similar to lugruf, it might be that you're not doing something you really find interesting and are just passing time. Do the thing you really wanna do! :3

    It's hilarious to watch small minded people having a meltdown over the fact that Overwatch's Tracer is (apparently) a lesbian.

     

    Poor Tracer! She has so little HP as it is, and now she'll have bigots gunning for her.

     

    On the bright side, this revelation is causing some of those bigots who have invested hundreds of hours in the game to quit.

      Sadly though, it's probably just a communication move from Blizzard to generate buzz over the game. They knew they were going to have these reactions. They used people's bigotry to their advantage. And the result is there: people are freaking out and talking about the game.

      I would have prefered if their attempt had failed and everybody were like "ok so Tracer is a lesbian, so what?" tbh.

      If that were the case, then Blizzard would've probably needed to have her come out of her closet from the beginning. Even then, the bigotry would still happen, but either way it's great to see her have depth as a character/person.

    He funniest excuse people give me for why they voted like sociopaths and should be forgiven is "politics are insignificant". They actually don't understand that condemns them even further!

      Politics are everything except insignificant, but the illusion of choice that is given to us makes the will of the people increasingly insignificant (talking in general here, not the US election in particular). Most people aren't evil but fail to realize the gravity of the situation. They're ignorant and oblivious, which leads them to hurt others through their misled choices. I believe things would gradually improve if people spent more time informing themselves and thinking about all the options that are presented to them.

      Yeah, the music definitely seems to be one of the main selling arguments of this series. It's pretty good btw. I'm at the end of volume 2 and although I wasn't completely convinced at first, now I'm hooked.

    My mage in WoW just got her second legendary... and she won't be able to equip it for almost a month. Thanks for that, Blizzard. -_-

    I just got two legendary items - one each for my mage and warlock - on the same day. And they both came from Highmountain Emissary Caches. As did the only legendary I had before today.

      Nice. I hope they were good ones. So far I only have 2 legendaries: the Ret Paladin wristguards and Sephuz, both I'm using because I don't have anything better (read: Whispers of the Nathrezim and Lady Liadrin's fury.)

      I have the belt and boots for my Destruction lock and the belt for my mage.

      I've got 2 on my bear druid; the neck and boots, and 2 on my destro warlock; the neck and cape. I'm pretty excited about the druid because come 7.1.5 the neck is gunna be super good for tanks and the boots are BiS already!

    I'm just the opposite. I want to burn as much of my time as possible asleep. Dreams are better for me than being awake.

    I prefer 10 hours, but require 8. Any less and you will have a very cranky Evi.

    Oh, Weiss has been my favorite member of Team RWBY for a while now, largely thanks to the theme songs associated with her. Overall, I think those songs strongly affect how I feel about characters. =p

    1. Um... probably negativity.... depression and such have sort of taken over my life. x.x 2. Fantasy 3. Welll.... mostly anime music, I don't know what genre they'd be considered. xD (Nerdiness > 9000.) Stories from Code Geass is one of my favorite songs. I've also been listening to the RWBY soundtracks a lot lately... Divide is my favorite there.

    Well, to get the obvious part out of the way, I'm sure it helps that he's the main character of my favorite anime. I also tend to like smart, mastermind type characters. But with Lelouch, I think there's more than that. Despite the fact that his grand plan requires him to wear a mask, I find him extremely genuine. To elaborate... Code Geass spoilers: t;dr: ALL HAIL LELOUCH!
