  1. This is part of the reason I feel we should deal with the wookies now. No one seems to have any solid claims regarding the mafia yet; it feels like Jace selected five people at random to suspect for tiny reasons. I prefer to have some substantial logic for the moves I make, and aside from my suspicion towards Refty regarding his recent post, I don't have much to go off of. However, depending on how things play out during N3, I may gain a better picture of the situation. I'm not going to pull any punches here; we're at a disadvantage. But that disadvantage will only get worse if we do nothing or act randomly. Getting rid of the wookies is a more that takes us forward, that we can understand, and that we can play around. Realistically, it seems like the only likely outcomes for D3 are now 1. The wookies die or 2. No lynch. We had no lynch on D2, too, and we got lucky the mafia couldn't kill anyone either. But if we keep wasting our actions, we are guaranteed to lose.
  2. @Jace Stormkirk if we did that, it would cost us a day phase later to lynch you, which is one of the problems I mentioned. Also, if the medic is with the mafia, they absolutely won't protect me, and you'll be able to recruit with the medic alive. That said, he's a question for everyone. Suppose we don't lynch Jace. What should we do instead? If we're unable to come to any consensus, we'll waste this day phase, too. Do you have any leads regarding the mafia? All I have at the moment are hunches and that one thing Refty said to work with. We could really use more information.
  3. As I explained on the last page, the wookies aren't really on our side, and will resume recruitment the moment I'm gone. We're left with two scenarios: 1. I get killed during N3. If that happens, then Jace is free to recruit unchecked on following nights. The mafia could kill him, but why should they? All they need is to fire one shot and Jace's whole team would die. We know Jace and Dive aren't mafia, meaning all 4 mafia remain. They can afford to risk letting Jace recruit one of them on N4. That gives them at least one easy night's worth of free kills in addition to my death. Further, you guys would have to either lynch Jace later or wait for the mafia to kill him. In either case, you'd be letting them have control - either by forcing you to spend a day lynching Jace or by killing him at exactly the right moment. 2. I survive N3. This is extremely unlikely if the medic is mafia. But, if the medic isn't mafia, then my night action is used up every night to imprison Jace and the medic's is used every night to protect me. That would allow the mafia to kill whoever else with impunity (unless they happen to target the droid.) We're left with up to three "offensive" night actions - Drakyle's scout role, Paul's ambassador role and Refty's mechanic role. if even one of those three is mafia we're at a huge disadvantage, and given that we're also assuming the medic isn't mafia, that chance that all three of those players are on our side is tiny. Meanwhile, during the day, we are voting as blindly as ever plus we're being influenced by two players who aren't really on our side. We need to play almost perfectly in either event, but in this scenario, we'd be so crippled by extra variables and sealed abilities that our chances would be almost nonexistent.
  4. I feel like this game is getting destroyed by inactivity... which really sucks.
  5. @Refty365 Well, what made me most suspicious is the following scenario: Suppose I am killed and revealed to be innocent. If you were mafia, you would then want to direct suspicion toward another townie to try to have them lynched. Your post, which basically invites people to become targets in that scenario, feels to me like setup for the future. It feels like you're trying to lure out your next target. I could be completely wrong about that, though. It just seems weird to say people might be suspicious for saying exactly what you're saying.
  6. @Refty365 I agree that you guys should remain wary of me since I have no hard proof of my innocence. That said, it's strange that you phrase that in a way that might direct blame at anyone who shares your misgivings, and that, in turn, makes me more suspicious of you. That said, since no one has offered any good reason to trust the wookies that I hadn't already addressed in my earlier post... [Eliminate] Jace Stormkirk
  7. @Myrmidon Divergent Yes, as Drakyle said, I did nothing on N0.
  8. As irritating as it is to admit it, Jace does have a point: If we eliminate the wookies, we'll have to play just about perfectly after that to win. But I'm not as convinced that the mafia will fail to kill someone on N3 as he seems to be. The question is whether the mafia knows who the medic is. If the medic is part of the mafia, or the mafia knows who the medic is, the medic cannot save anyone and I will probably die. If the medic does protect me, though, I will use my capture ability to protect someone else I feel I can trust. In that case, there's some chance we can block their kill. Obviously, the medic absolutely should not role call, and I leave it up to them to decide whether or not to protect me. It's possible that, even if they don't, the mafia may hesitate to target me if they think that's a likely outcome. But I digressed: the other concern is whether or not there's really any reason to spare the wookie faction. Jace suggests that, if we let him live, he'd be effectively working with the town, but I'm skeptical of that. If I happen to die, no one would be jailing Jace any longer, and he would be free to recruit. He might take a member of the town, further diminishing our numbers. If he does, he would be effectively dividing us, which works in the mafia's favor. And, then, once we are sufficiently fragmented, a single shot would finish off Jace's entire faction. That could easily end the game on the spot. You could plan to kill Jace asap if something happens to me, but if you do that, you'll have to use up another Day lynching him. Then the mafia would likely get a kill at night, leading to not three but four consecutive "town votes" lost. In either case, it seems to me that leaving the wookies be would just play into the mafia's hands. Beating them will certainly be difficult, but it is possible, if we play very well. Therefore, I'm still inclined to want rid of the wookie faction. However, before making a final decision on this, I would like to hear more input from others.
  9. @Megagun it's definitely possible that Jace wasn't the mafia's target. It just seems most likely to me that he was. Unless they were attacking at random, I don't see why they'd go for the droid, and I don't think there are many players currently suspicious enough to be simultaneously targeted by the mafia and the medic. The only one who got many votes last night was Jace, and by extension, Dive. I suppose I must appear suspicious to more people than just Anti_hero, too, but as far as I know no one targeted me.
  10. The Sith Lord was unable to pass judgment. How shocking. In all seriousness, this confirms my theory. @Jace Stormkirk is the wookie sympathizer and @Myrmidon Divergent is his convert. I'd like to see either of you two try to talk your way out of this one. The Rebels' failure to kill anyone is also intriguing. My hypothesis is they tried to kill Jace, who was imprisoned again. By me. Because I'm the bounty hunter. Perhaps the rest of you will be more receptive to my theory now that some extra proof has come in. If not, then our sympathizer will be recruiting again soon, because I'll probably die during N3.
  11. By the way, Refty does bring up one good point. You should be as skeptical of me as you would be of any other player. Being assigned the role of mafia is random, I think; I had the same chance as everyone else. So, don't just trust me as a person. Examine my reasoning and decide whether you agree.
  12. @Myrmidon Divergent What made you 100% certain Venus was mafia? Whatever thought process that was, it was undeniably flawed, because it led you to be certain of a falsehood. In reality, there wasn't really any evidence pointing to Venus being mafia. His behavior made it clear that he wanted to be lynched. What would a mafia member have to gain by behaving like that? Why are you so dismissive of the possibility that Jace is the sympathizer? There's ample evidence in favor of it, which I discussed in my previous post. And he still hasn't revealed his role. If he were town, it would be rational for him to do that, because whatever his role might be, it would put less of a target on his head than "wookie sympathizer."
  13. We don't have that much time left during day 2, and I'll probably be in bed 6 hours from now, so I'm going to tentatively start the vote. If you want to show me I'm wrong, respond before then. I expect people to try to "refute" me with alarmist posts centered on emotional manipulation while I'm asleep. Don't let those sway you. Those with strong objections to my reasoning shouldn't have any problem with confronting me while I'm still around. [Eliminate] Jace Stormkirk
  14. @Anti_Hero That's certainly one test we could use, but it's not the best one. I suspect Dive of being the wookie convert, but I'm far from certain. If I'm wrong, then I guess your suggestion would work just fine, provided Dive makes a good choice as judge. But, if I'm right, we'll be lynching no one today despite having a good idea of who the sympathizer could be. I propose the following instead. @Jace Stormkirk tell us your role. If Dive is not your convert, then I guess you can just claim whatever the actual convert's role was. But if Dive is your convert, then you can't claim his role, since he already claimed it himself. In that case you'll have to claim a role that someone else already holds. If Jace refuses to answer or claims a role held by someone else, then it all but confirms my theory. From there, one option available to us would be to lynch Jace and take his convert with him. If Jace claims an uncontested role, then Dive will look a lot more innocent, but frankly, my suspicion of Jace himself won't waver. The evidence against him is considerable at this point. @Paul25 I don't think you explicitly role claimed. Are you saying you're the ambassador?
  15. I suppose I'll share my thoughts about everyone, too. -Myrmidon Divergent: I feel confident Dive began the game as the actual Sith Lord since his roleclaim has remained unchallenged. However, I can't help but find two things suspicious. Firstly, he seemed completely willing to sacrifice himself to Venus. At first, I thought Venus had some sort of grudge, but it appears he was just a troll. Still, I wonder whether Venus trolls every game. If not, and if I were in Dive's position, I would have been more concerned. Secondly, he completely failed to mention Jace (among others) in his analysis of other players thus far. Together, these facts lead me to believe it's possible he was converted on N0 and was adamant about voting against Venus to avoid revealing his inability to judge. So... if I had to guess, wookie convert. -purplecicada: I went back through the thread to look at what everyone has said so far, and it doesn't seem purple has said much. That's somewhat suspicious to me, since, were I mafia, I would probably try to lay low, too. -Lord Drakyle: They correctly called out that I made no movements on N0, so I'm inclined to believe they are genuinely the Scout. The questions is whether they're Imperial or Rebel. I'm slightly inclined to lean Rebel, but their survival could just be explained by the fact that the Rebels chose another target - our Sith Inquisitor - to kill instead. -Jace Stormkirk: I'll be honest here. I'm almost 100% certain Jace is the wookie sympathizer. Based on what I know of psychology, his initial refusal to answer questions relating to his imprisonment and subsequent response that was tantamount to a confession, and the sureness he expressed that the sympathizer was screwed before we even brought the topic up, I don't think there's much room for doubt here. -DigitalAmber: He's spoken a bit more than purple, but hasn't revealed much information. He could have a role such as battle droid that doesn't help gain information. I currently have no reason to suspect him. -Anti_Hero: I feel about the same way about Anti_Hero as I do about Digital. -Refty365: Another fairly quiet player; I am slightly suspicious. -Greninja: I have no idea on this one. His long absence could just be a product of real life business or an elaborate ploy to lay really low. -Paul25: His comment about failing to acquire information is suspicious. I think it calls for a role reveal. -Megagun: I don't think it's sound logic to assume someone is mafia just because they were in many past games. Still, that end-phase behavior is noteworthy. I'm slightly suspicious. -Alphagar: I feel about the same way about Alphagar as I do about Digital. -Snowy Amine: I feel about the same way about Snowy Anime as I do about Digital. Overall, I don't think we have any solid information on the rebels yet, but my suspicions regarding the wookie crowd are pretty strong. I think the question is not whether Jace is the sympathizer, but what we ought to do about it.
  16. We can't assume that the jailer knows who the sympathizer is. Like I mentioned in my previous post, the jailer could have imprisoned the sympathizer's target, or the sympathizer could have attempted to recruit Shadow. The priority chain puts "rebel kill" ahead of "sympathizer", so I think it's fair to say that if that happened, Shadow would be killed without being converted and the sympathizer would fail in their attempt. Four imperials are dead already. The sympathizer has gained one recruit. That means there are 3-4 rebels and 7-8 imperials remaining. If we lynch another imperial and the sympathizer happens to recruit another, our numbers will be down to 5-6. We can't afford to spend our time throwing around emotional, unsubstantiated accusations. That's why I want to gather some hard facts before we make our next decision. @Jace Stormkirk I noticed two things about your last post. The first is that you seem certain that the jailer has identified the sympathizer. The second is that you failed to tell us whether you were imprisoned last night. Is there some reason you're avoiding that question?
  17. I guess I'd have to go with "Depends" as well. However, I used to almost always do post-game content. Now I find myself less interested in it, especially in RPGs. I guess what it depends on is what I'm playing the game for in the first place. If it was story, some half-assed extension with gameplay attached probably won't tempt me. But if I was playing for gameplay (like I tend to in Mario games, for instance,) the postgame is more likely to interest me.
  18. I may be wrong, but as far as I can tell, there are only four ways the sympathizer could have failed to recruit. 1. They chose not to. That one seems unlikely. 2. They tried to recruit Shadow, who died. 3. They tried to recruit the imprisoned player. 4. They were the imprisoned player. I feel we should continue telling each other whether or not we were imprisoned last night. I was not.
  19. As a new player, I'm rather baffled by this whole situation. Am I taking this too seriously? I feel like some of us are playing ironically and some aren't. It seems I don't yet understand how this works. Therefore... [Eliminate] No one
  20. @Myrmidon Divergent Are you serious? You are our (currently) uncontested Sith Lord. It seems extremely likely that Venus is the Dark Trooper and will use his role to kill you if he dies. Is it really wise to sacrifice yourself for his sake? Even if he is Mafia, Dark Trooper has no special powers if left untouched.
  21. Venus has effectively claimed to be the Dark Trooper. Dive has claimed to be the Sith Lord. Drakyle has claimed Scout. Would anyone like to contest any of those claims?
