It's confirmed that it's not just a snapshot bug, they really are removing Notch Apples in Minecraft 1.9. That's just unnacceptable. I'll still play it, but whenever I want to craft one I'm temporarily going back to an earlier version. That is, assuming the ungodly backlash they're about to recieve doesn't change their minds about the whole stupid idea.
