    I was playing the Minecraft demo, and, uh, is there a better way to find veins of ore underground? Just digging around aimlessly until you find something takes WAY too long for me.

      You dig down to z level 12 or below, then start shaft mining with 2 high tunnels. And/Or install a texture pack where stone is transparent.
