  1. Once all the girls had turned in their contracts, Himiko smiled. “Thank you very much. Now, all idols have to stay in one of our company’s artist dormitories, for easier coordination of scheduling. You can all go home now and pack your personal effects, then come to the Hope Complex tomorrow morning. You should know where it is, it’s easily the biggest building in the city. Once you’ve all gathered, we’ll ease you into your new accomodations and we can get to work.”
  2. I'll be busy this weekend. I'll put up the conclusion to this bit in a while, then a new topic for chapter 1. Will be reading and responding, but responses may be somewhat slow. Be warned.
  3. OHSHI- omg Wander am so sorry I forgot you existed QQ. Just post your reactions to the announcement, then immediately post the reaction to the contract signing, thanks >< Also which part of it is sketchy? EDIT: Sorry, I got your name wrong initially. Edited.
  4. Kagari Kagari looked blankly at the piece of paper in front of her. It was covered in legal jargon and difficult language which was way beyond her. Shrugging, she ignored everything it said and skipped ahead to where she had to sign, leaving her signature with a flourish. Then she set the contract aside and read the other piece of paper, the release of liability. This one was much easier to understand. Some parts of it disturbed her, like the bit that released YUSAPro from any form of damage, including… Physical and mental injury, and death…? Kagari raised her eyebrow. Exactly what kind of training did idols undergo…? She decided to pay it no mind; it was likely just a legal formality. Besides, she could not find it in herself to care; she was going to be an idol! She would gladly sign anything for that chance. Giggling to herself, she signed again on the Release of Liability form and handed both sheets of paper back to Miss Himiko.
  5. On the circular stage, a single young woman was awaiting the new idols. She looked to be in her middling twenties, with long black hair tied back in a ponytail, and clear glasses set upon a narrow nose. Her irises were a deep, dark brown, framing an angular face. She wore typical office attire: a white button-up blouse accompanied by a blue pencil skirt. Her feet rested in a pair of reasonable heeled shoes, and she carried a clipboard in her left hand. Seeing that all the new idols had arrived, she cleared her throat and spoke up in a soft voice. “Congratulations to the seven of you, you have successfully passed the auditions. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Akayomi Himiko. You may call me Himiko. From this point on, I will be working with you as your Producer and Manager. I will be in charge of planning your venues, planning your concerts, planning and managing your schedules, as well as promotion and advertisement. If you’ll please…” Her voice trailed off while she gestured towards a long table set up behind her. Upon it was seven stacks of paper. “These are your contracts. I’ll need your signatures on both forms.” Contracts Acknowledgement of Employment THIS AGREEMENT made between “Your Unique Utopia Starts Here Anew Productions” a corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Kibou, and having its principal place of business at The Hero Complex, 346 Jiyuu Avenue (the “Employer”) and _______________, of the city of ______ in the State of Kibou(the “Employee”) WHEREAS the Employer desires to obtain the benefit of the services of the Employee, and the Employee desires to render such services on the terms and conditions set forth. 6. The large LCD screen in the front of the waiting room lights up, with numbers flashing across it. Successful Applicants: #102 #285 #360 #512 #615 #616 #720 A young female voice cuts over the P.A. system of the hall. "To those who have been chosen, congratulations. To those who have not, do not be disheartened; there will always be another chance. All successful applicants, please make your way to the stage presently. That is all." Kagari Kagari's heart stopped as the screen lit up. It missed one, two, four, beats as she scanned the list. There it was. #285. Her. She had done it. She had been chosen. Her hand involuntarily shot up to her mouth, as her legs threatened to give way. Tears welled up in her eyes. She had done it. Now she had a chance to accomplish her dream. Placing her hand against the wall to steady herself, she stood up and started walking toward the stage. All around her, girls who had not made the cut were sobbing. Some were staring at her with barely concealed anger. Some were consoling others. One was crying hysterically into a mobile phone, exchanging a flurry of choked words with someone on the other end. Some were applauding her with smiles, smiles that framed their wet eyes. At that moment, Kagari resolved herself. She wiped away her tears. She would make sure to fulfill her dream, to achieve success. Both for herself, and for the sake of those she had inadvertently trampled upon to reach this juncture. Looking straight ahead, she walked back onstage with pride.
  7. Sooooooo I have a problem. Rusty, I see the effort put into your post, and I like Lyre's earnestness, and I really want to put you in. But your writing is, honestly, not quite up to the standards I'm looking for. What I can do is put you in, but you won't be given any Centre positions until your writing improves. If you're okay with that, I can put you in. If not, I'm afraid you're going to have to sit this one out. Well?
  8. Contemplating whether or not to play <>...Hmmm...

  9. Anyway, yes, I don't really care about how good/bad your handwriting is, since mine is honestly horrendous. This is Kagari's sign, for those who want an example.
  10. Looks alright to me Oh, as an additional note, anyone who wants to learn how to read/speak Japanese would do well to start from Tae Kim's guide: http://www.guidetojapanese.org/learn/
  11. It depends on the feel you're going for. In Japan, different idols use different writing systems for their signs. Hiragana gives off a "cute" impression, with its myriad of curves and how it lends itself to having hearts included in the cursive. Katakana gives off an edgier feel because of the sharpness of the system and the many straight lines. Romaji is used to give off a mature or sexy feel, as cursive romaji has the appearance of being sophisticated. Kanji is rarely used, because it suggests that an idol is straight-laced or old-fashioned, which is often detrimental ti their image. However, kanji is often used in conjunction with hiragana or katakana, as its pictorial nature lends itself to stylization. Idols can take weeks to months just to create and perfect their signs, but of course I'm not expecting that level of sign. Just a simple, distinctive one will be fine. Keep in mind that it should be easy and fast to draw.
  12. Potential participants should start thinking up a signature for their character. The immediate first event after the selection will be a contract signing.Your signature should be easy to draw, but also unique and distinctive. It can be in English, or it can be in any other language, so long as it still has your character's name(e.g. Kagari's sign is in English). While unnecessary, it is common practice to add embellishments such as tiny hearts or flowers. Please take the time to think about it and draw it out on paper/in paint. I'll be asking for a .jpg sample of the signature when selections end.
  13. It's not exactly crucial, but I just thought I'd point it out. It was the first non-content-related thing that jumped out at me, and I'm keeping my content-related impressions of the audition to myself, as they will affect some future events.
  14. Anime rules.EDIT: Also, all interested people should start working on their signatures. Your signature should be unique and distinctive, but easily drawable within 20 seconds while maintaining eye contact with another person. Primarily, it should include your name, but it is common practice to add accents, such as hearts, or stars, or flowers.
