    I didn't use it as an excuse. I stated it as a part of the general reason why. Don't just jump to conclusions while disgarding 3/4 of the other reasons.

    It's not just the bipedal part. I don't like anything about it's design. The bipedal part is just getting old that's why I also mentioned that. I know what they're supposed to represent but for me personally the mage failed hard.

    Long story short: I once had to do a big project around the Desert Fox (Fennec) and I really like the animal ever since. So when they revealed Fennekin I was hyped and if GF did something decent with the evolution, the Fennekin line would definitely be in my top 3 mons. But instead of giving us an awesome fox, GF decided it was a good idea to make the fire starter bipedal (very unique btw never saw that one before... oh wait...), put a stick in it's ass, give it a dress and called it a mage.

    @Wolfox@seki108 I've been called genwunner for the exact same thing I posted earlier so for me personally the line between 'defending' gen 1 and being a genwunner is unclear. I grew up with it, I like most of it (especially the mons) and that's about it. I know the gen isn't perfect (far from) but GF had to start somewhere. For me personally gen 1 is a great starting point. If I include everything (region, leaders, champions etc.) I'd say gen 4 and 5 are my favorites.

    It's ok. You didn't really offend anyone just by stating your opinion. Vaporeon just happens to be my favorite mon. Not because I'm a genwunner or because it's an Eeveelution. I just happen to like everything about it. And Vaporeon was always the mon I could rely on no matter what. Even after 7 generations that hasn't changed. And I don't like weird evo's either (Dewott -> Samurott wtf happened there? Remoraid -> Octillery etc) I don't include Vaporeon amongst those. Imo all Eeveelutions fit and don't look that weird compared to other evolution lines. But aside from Vaporeon, none of them rank that high on my list of favorites. Espeon and Leafeon are ok and Umbreon's design is nice but that's about it. Also while I'm a genwunner, I have no problem admitting gen 5 has the best Pokédex. That actually says a lot since my interest in Pokémon was at it's lowest when gen 5 came out and I thought most of them were unoriginal and without any effort (Zebstrika, Swanna for example). Hell, gen 5 even has the mons I despise the most with those goddamn Elemental Monkeys and Keldeo. The thing about gen 1 is that, for those who grew up with it, it's acceptable that the mons might be illogical and the games were unbalanced and glitched. Psychic was broken AF but imo gen 1 has some really great mons. Gengar, Venusaur, Gyarados, Alakazam, Arcanine, etc have all great designs and are fun to use.     Since I can't quote again: @NickCrash I actually really like the gen 4 starters. Imo as a trio they're the best and hardest pick for me. Only reason I'm not healing them is because 2 of them are going down fast (why are people attacking Chimchar ) and healing would be a waste. Also individually some others stand more out. For some reason I'm in a Chespin healing mood. Anyway Chespin is in a good spot right now. I might as well heal some gen 4.
