  1. I'm glad that they're able to bring people joy, Aqua. It's my pleasure
  2. Of course Kuna; you know we're sad to see you go, but at the same time we'll wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors and whatnot
  3. Edward Enya held Ace up to her ear, cocking her head sideways as though she were paying the stuffed bear her utmost attention. "Well, Mister Edward," the girl said, looking at the Boy Scout with wide eyes and a sweet smile. "Ace says that we'd better go on foot. Otherwise, the maze will make things harder when the the time comes." The girl looked completely unfazed by what she had just spoken on behalf of a bear that had been condemned to this very circle. Then again, it was easy to remember that the girl had spoken on the bear's behalf multiple times and never seemed fazed by any of the words that passed her lips. Skipping merrily toward a pathway, she called out in a sing-song voice, "This way, Mister Edward!" as she dragged the large, ragged bear with her. Vanessa As the girl was crouched, hiding and observing the things, she noted with surprise that Evan completely ignored the corridor that the voice seemed to be coming from. The clear female soprano regaled Vanessa's ears again, and it seemed as though she was the only one that could hear the ethereal voice coming from the corridor. "Nessie," the voice cried with more urgency. "Nessie, help! Nessa!" At that last word, the voice, which had been calm, suddenly became frantic, calling for assistance. Still, no one but the dark haired girl seemed to notice the shrieks coming from that corridor. Phantom Stopping ahead slightly, Meridian moved near one of the walls, never actually touching it but allowing Phantom to see what was at hand. Ahead of them, the walls had growths of thick vines. Clearing her throat, one hand gestured ahead as the succubus began to speak. "Your intentions were good," she spoke, her eyes staring unwaveringly at the mask on Phantom's face. "You wanted to protect me, not knowing that you would cause my demise in doing so." Glancing away, unknowingly having answered one of the unspoken questions in the man's mind, she continued on. "The maze was designed to learn about those trying to make their way through. It evolves as it observes. The only way for a person to get through is by working in pairs, with each helping the other to overcome where they are weak." Looking at Phantom again, Meridian sighed. "The maze changes, creating obstacles that it feels are appropriate for venturers. This, it would appear, is your first."
  4. I'm so glad you're still here Commander! Just remember what we talked about though; PM me if you decide for certain this isn't up your alley
  5. "Aaaaah!" came the surprised yelp as Illiana lost her balance at the sudden appearance of Natalie, once again tumbling to the ground. Breathing hard, the girl worked her way back onto her feet, leaving her makeshift baston resting on the ground. She peeled stray strands of hair away from her sweaty face, looking at her companion with contemplation on her face. "Well," she began, looking around thoughtfully, "We could always head to the library and do that research you had mentioned." The blond had not forgotten that their primary goal for coming to this area had been to do some research, as well as set up a base for them to operate out of. "Or," she added as an afterthought, "we could just as easily begin to learn this area really well." Struggling to recall if the other girl had said anything about it, she added, "Would that be a beneficial thing to do?" As she began to walk back to the apartment, the girl stopped with a gasp and smack to the forehead, racing back to where she had left her weapon. Her instructor had always taught her to keep her weapons out of reach, so that others couldn't use them against her. Uncertain of where else to place it, she resigned to place it in what should have been the coat closet of the apartment, fairly certain that no one would come to visit. A sigh escaped the girl, as she realized that when she renewed the charm around the perimeter of the apartment building, she would also need to place stronger defensive spells around the apartment that she and Natalie would be residing in. Illiana let her grey eyes search Natalie's face, wishing that she knew what the younger, undoubtedly wiser girl thought about their next steps. "Well, Natalie, what shall we do?"

  8. Obligatory one hour notice before Cards Against Humanity begins.

  9. Phantom Meridian looked faintly amused, staring at Phantom. "Sorry," she mused, looking at the man in interest. "Apologies can be hard to give." Looking around at the walls, which were still glowing occasionally, she continued, "However, they can also be given incorrectly and unnecessarily at times." Beginning to walk down another corridor, the succubus paused, motioning for the tall, mysterious wanderer to follow her. Not bothering to see if the man had begun to follow, her voice floated to Phantom, just barely touching his ears. "We all need someone by our side, most of all in a place like this." Edward and Enya Enya skipped over to the frozen pick, looking at it carefully. "Don't worry Mister Edward," she smiled happily. "I can get it out!" With little trouble, the girl opened one of her spacial rifts within the maze, summoning a flamethrower from it. Setting Ace by the wall carefully, the child sparked her new toy to life, shooting several orange-blue flames toward the frozen pick. Leaving it on for about 30 seconds, her childish face portrayed the typical innocence and child-like amusement that had become almost synonymous with the girl. She cheerfully flipped the flamethrower off and allowed it to disappear, revealing a burnt, brittle stick that had once been the pick Edward used. "Here you go Mister Edward!" Enya proclaimed, presenting the charred stick to him. After a few moments of silence, the girl looked at her friend, blinking her eyes wide at him. "So," she said happily, yawning quietly, "where are we going next?"
  10. The ORIGINAL POST has been editted, and the next Game Night is TOMORROW. I'm sorry for the short notice, folks ^^; I hope to see you all coming to participate!~
  11. Also, if you've lost interest or no longer wish to keep up with the RP, both as host or players, let the others know. It's not fair to the players if they keep waiting longer and longer for the posts, nor is it fair to the hosts to keep waiting for a player's response and not knowing it's not going to come
  12. Kuro, you've been a fantastic friend and I hate to see you go, regardless of you having to or not. Please, please, please take care, and know that we'll all miss you.
  13. We get to talk about Satoshi Tajiri in class today. How he's relevant in a Music for Special Learners class, I don't know. At the same time, I don't really care!

  14. The next person to worry about a remark I made to prove a point will be whacked mercilessly with a newspaper until they cry 'uncle', capiche? I mean what I said, it was not directed at any singular person.
  15. Come onto the server and play Mafia with us! We start in 10 minutes~

  17. Well, I'd like to present something that has intrigued me during the course of this conversation. I would like to make an observation and say that in the course of this conversation, a fair few RPers have taken initiative and actively taken part in this conversation, whether it be through discussion or providing solutions. My inquiry for everyone, including myself, is that why is this format so much different from the RPs that we take part in? The basic premise is, to me at least, sort of the same. We're all here, under aliases, and have taken a topic set forth by our host, whom happens to be Murdoc as he created the topic, gave us our plot (a problem within the subforum) and a setting to do so in (the forums). Why can we not apply these same skills to the RPs we're in? Maybe I'm absolutely crazy and drawing parallels where none can be reasonably drawn, but if we were all to apply the level of engagement that we've shown in this discussion into our RPs, it would help to solve the problem.
  18. As Strat reasonably pointed out though, unless the newbies are actively trying to improve, there isn't much we can do. It's akin to the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it." We as vets can offer, guide, and provide assistance to help new players become skilled, but at the end of the day it's up to the new players to implement the help into their own RPing. I would think that we would want to proactively catch the possibility of this occurring so that RPs don't lose players and sign-ups are still plentiful. And of course about the ease of sub-forum creation; I'm merely going off of what I've heard from some of the auths, though I admit heresay isn't a viable form of evidence.
  19. To be completely honest, Commander's suggestion of having a separate place for ICs, OOCs, and InterestChecks seems like a fantastic idea to me. Now, the following is commentary on the GoogleDocs that Dobby linked: The problem with purchasing subsections would be that I'm not entirely certain creating subforums is in Hukuna and Murdoc's domain of power, meaning that the Three Powers that Be (this means Ame/Ikaru/Dan, for future reference) would need to step in and actually create these. That would create more strain on them as they try to improve the site in other ways. Also, the feasibility of that would come into question. Would the subsections stay forever, would there be a time limit before they disappear and would have to be repurchased, would there be a renewal/continued use fee per month? In my opinion, the logistics of having something like this would be extremely messy and drag more people into the workings of the RP forum than are honestly needed. The idea of subsections would seem to do the opposite and cut down on the clutter; however, for newer players that haven't met those with more experienced players, this set up would be highly confusing. Guides can be of help, sure, but if a system seems too confusing from the getgo, prospective new players would be less inclined to attempt to figure it out. Clarity is a major point that needs to be considered, so that the format is easily understood to all that would like to try RPing. That's just what I see as of right now. Also, Dobby, the PZA and Nations subforums were deleted, meaning that all topics moved back into the main Hall of Champions thread.
  20. Dobby, if we as players go to Hukuna and Murdoc, that's fine. But we do not need to go to Ame/Ikaru/Dan-- that's the point I was making. Doing that offers more of a chance for the idea to be vetoed as there wasn't a clear meeting where all the outcomes were thought of. At the same time, communication with the Three Powers that Be is also one of the reasons that Hukuna and Murdoc have their jobs as mods; we shouldn't try to go over their heads when they're probably on the same side that we are.
  21. On this note, I'm going to very strongly ask that no one in this thread jump the gun on an idea like this. We as players need to actively discuss the pros and cons of this sort of format and then present the ideas to Murdoc and Hukuna. They, in turn, as the mods of the subforum, should go to Ame/Ikaru/Dan. If singular people go to them with no clearly thought out argument complete with pros, cons, and implementation, as well as guidelines and the other things, the idea would be vetoed straight away. Tl;dr-- Follow the chain of command and don't get too excited
  22. I'm still not sure that the RP community here would be large enough to warrant these different subsections in the first place, Thomas. Don't get me wrong, it would be a fantastic thing for RPs with large amounts of people, and if memory serves, some RPs here have actually split into multiple threads before. However, for the purposes that we have here, I'm just not sure that it's a plausible idea.
