I have literally ZERO motivation to continue my studies. Funny thing is, my parents won't let me get a job because "I'm better than that". Oh humanity...

Frankly, those jokes are idiotic. And my own experience at university is the perfect proof: there are several thousands people my age studying engineer in Italy right now, and everyone sees the mere possibility of becoming a "lowly" worker as a terrifying prospect. This completely ignoring the fact that every single company in this world needs hundreds of workers and maybe two or three engineers.

The point I am trying to make is: everyone tries to achieve a "position" in life, and they fail to see that, if everybody did, then our economy would collapse. There cannot be a company of only engineers, or a McDonald's of only managers, or a restaurant of only chefs. But the (completely arbitrary, if you ask me) difference in how the different roles are paid causes people to pursue some and ignore some others that are equally important. That's the kind of world we live in.
