drayano hacks are moreso difficulty mods rather than entirely new games, so id avoid those if you want a fresh experience, and recommend them if you want difficulty mods.

as for my biggest recommend, pokemon adventure - red chapter. its still in progress, but a lot of gameplay has been added. its basically reds story in the manga, kinda like ash gray for the anime except this one is hacked really well.

next to that, clover. its a stupid game, and I absolutely loathe that out of all hacks, clover is currently probably the most polished. but it is, so.

oh, and one I forgot- der erif. not quite well known, but its pretty good in my opinion. both a difficulty hack and a 'new game' of sorts, as in that you still go through kanto, but go through kanto backwards. the first leader you will face will be blaine, etc etc. maps have been revamped, dex has been revised, some plot elements have been changed, and its much more challenging than the original.
