    So I downloaded part 12, but it still shows the title screen for part 11, and the game itself won't let me leave the chess gymleader's room without the part 11 preview, like it's still on part 10.

      You're sure you're opening 12 and not 11? I made that mistake before... Check for megas in the Battlers folder.
