      It's honestly not necessary to have background knowledge. All you really need to know is how Devil Fruits work and that like 95% of the world in One Piece is an ocean. It's all piratey and awesome. When I get around to making the OOC, I'll have a couple of sample characters up.

      I really enjoyed the one mentioned in the latter. Having read the whole thing I can safely say it's a great lesson in humility and knowing one's own limits while still pushing them harshly.

    @Game Freak: Low catch rates aren't challenging, they're annoying as hell.

      Current theory is that more powerful Pokemon are rarer and thus have less complete data pre-compiled in the Poke Balls. Therefore, the ball has to attempt to fill in holes in the data as it compiles the Pokemon into code.
