Holy fuck it's been ages since my last RMT. Anyways I've been thinking about going back into the whole LU competitive thing that I frankly stopped caring about due to recent circumstances. I had and idea just now so do put in constructive input.
Team Building Process.
So the first thing I wanted was the little known monster known as the Bellizard. A Charizard with Belly Drum. After trying it in OU competition, it seemed more than enough for LU.
I wanted something to complement the shock factor in the "What the hell did that Chariz- HOLY FUCK" sense. Enter Archeops
Noting the weakness to Water I decided to throw in an old favorite Electric type. Manetric.
After that, I had no idea where to go. I look around and decide that Torterra could be a SR setter and grass type supporter.
Next, I really wanted to try something really different. Browsing what little Water Types I could stumble upon, I noticed an old favorite from gen 3. Huntail.
And then I decided, even looing at the additional Water weakness it would give my team, I decided to have something that could set up while (hopefully bulking one hit or two). Enter Rhyperior.
The Team in Depth
@Choice Specs
Trait: Static EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Volt Switch - Switcheroo - Overheat - Snarl
I always really liked Manetric. Looks, stats, and moves, all 3 just work wonders. Volt Switch STAB and switch to a resistant type to the expected incoming attack, Overheat for Grass, Ice, and steel types. Switcheroo for the lolnope to physical opposition and stall. Snarl for dulling the special attackers. Hey, 100% chance of lowering a foes special attack is not something to overlook.
@ Choice Band Trait: Defeatist EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Outrage - Head Smash - U-turn
The big reason why Archeops is LU and not OU is because of it's Ability. Which is really unfortunate, because it has an awesome Attack and Speed stat which packs a really devastating punch. Choice Band because hopefully nothing will outspeed 350 at LU, not including Priority. Pick your poison. Head Smash, is really a usable only once move, because it usually leaves Archeops and half HP after use. However, Head smash STAB at +1 is not something to laugh at. U-Turn works nicely with Manetric.
@ Leftovers Trait: Solid Rock EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Rock Polish - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Megahorn
Rhyperior is a pretty stalwart tank. A large HP and defense pool makes good measure of surviving most physical water or grass attacks. It's attack also isn't trash, having 316 attack to start out with. Solid Rock does wonders to ensure survival for one turn (usually, a special attack will make Rhyperior melt if it hits for x4), allowing for a Rock Polish. Depending on how much damage you take, it allows for A.) another rock polish; or B.) destruction of the enemy.
@ Leftovers Trait: Shell Armor EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Stealth Rock - Wood Hammer - Earthquake - Crunch
Torterra has served me well in the past. It's almost like Rhyperior, but only fact that it doesn't get a speed boost. It's the Rock setter, and it will follow up with what ever can hit for the most damage. Nothing really special. @Sitrus Berry Trait: Blaze EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Belly Drum - Fire Punch - Acrobatics - Dragon Claw
Pure Shock value. This is the reason I even bothered to make this team. Charizard is an absolute beast. Decent Speed, and after a Belly Drum? There aint no breaks on that train. Acrobatics STAB after the Sitrus Berry is used because of Belly Drum makes a great combination. Hell, even looking at it, Charizards Physical attack move pool is much better than its Special move pool. Other moves include Thunder Punch, Outrage, Rock Slide, Shadow Claw and many many other viable moves. @ Focus Sash Trait: Water Veil EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Shell Smash - Waterfall - Ice Fang - Crunch
Finishing up the hoard of Physical Attackers is Huntail. Water Veil is actually pretty nice; prevents burning, so it's attack wont be dulled easily. 307 base attack is good, but it's speed is sub par so a shell smash is mandatory, unless it's very clear your opponent is slower than a measly 223.
Soooo summing up what I know I have here
5 Physical Attackers with 1 Special Support.
A weakness to Rock and Ice type moves.
Mostly fast, although some need to set up.
Two rock types. Might need to change that.
Keep your comments constructive. I don't want a repeat of my last explosion on this forum.
Here. Knock yourself out. I don't care.
