Hello, Reborn!

Uh, hi!

 

Honestly, I'm really nervous about typing this out. I joined the forums so I could connect with people who enjoy Rejuvenation, Reborn, and such...But, I've always put it off because I was nervous, and I'd get inside of my own head and such. Though, I've admittedly only "properly" played through Rejuvenation. I'm planning to do a full Reborn run before my next Rejuvenation run, so that I can collect those sweet NG+ rewards (Mega Victreebel...). I have played other fan games before, such as Insurgence and Flux!

 

Anyway, on to some belated introductions! I'm really sorry, I got sidetracked. My name is Saku. Or Sacchi, if you prefer. I'm 35 years of age, from the United States. I'm transgender, and I prefer she/her for my pronouns. I've been a fan of the Pokémon franchise since the first generation, though the fifth is my favorite. My favorite Pokémon is Sandile and its evolutionary line, though Ceruledge is a close second. I'm also a fan of the mecha genre (Gundam, for an example), Digimon, Super Robot Wars, Tokusatsu (Primarily Ultraman)...So far, I really like the site, but I hope I can get along with all of you more than anything else. That way, we can keep enjoying Reborn, Rejuvenation, and all kinds of stuff as a community and such.

 

...Er, that is, if that makes sense, ahaha. I'm sorry I rambled for a bit. But, it's a pleasure to meet all of you properly. I'm just sorry it took me this long to work up the nerve to register and introduce myself!

Hi Saku, welcome! The discord is quite a bit more active in terms of community than the forum these days, but I'm always happy to see folks subscribe to the olden days of yore when forums walked the internet. . . And I'm especially glad when those people are able to get over their nerves to do it! Better to take risks and meet people than to be forever a wallflower!

 

What is your avatar? I thought it was a funny togekiss at first glance, or maybe a very scrungy sneasler?

It's a Gomamon from Digimon, actually! I saved a really cute art I found a while back, and turned it into my avatar; I'm just enthralled with how smooshed its face is here. It's just the cutest...I'm sorry this is kind of late, though.

 

I've been playing Reborn, and I'm 13 badges in. I've kind of been obsessed...Though, I'm honestly surprised I put off playing it so long because I was afraid I wouldn't enjoy it quite like Rejuvenation. And lo and behold, I'm wrong as can be...And I'm genuinely happy to be wrong, too. Actually putting in the legwork to EV Train is a refreshing experience, even though I was Radomus-walled for a day or so before I finally figured a winning play out. And now I'm preparing a bunch of Steel-types for my next badge!

 

Oh, I cannot wait to let this Steelix I've been sitting on go ham. Its day has finally come, and the amount of Steel Moves I'm going to let fly will be...Not Legendary, but I'm gonna have fun finetuning my strategy if I lose. That's turned into part of the fun if my typical team doesn't work!

 

But also, I'm sort of anxious about joining the Discord because I'd most likely lurk (much as I do 95% of Discord servers I've joined, including more than a few Pokémon fangame servers)...Which is entirely my brain doing the bad thing, admittedly. Plus, using the forum like this is kind of fun, if that makes sense. It reminds me of when forums were the place to be, and I'm happy to be here all the same, you know?

 

Anyway, again, I'm terribly sorry I didn't respond to this sooner...!

No worries. Things forum side tend to be pretty quiet-- took me some time to notice too. But hey, I'm always happy for a return to the old ways. We're gonna be doing a big site upgrade this weekend and hopefully the forums don't proceed to break into a million pieces.

The worry about lurking is understandable-- I'd probably be the same way if it wasn't my community. But you never know...!

I'm absolutely going to need that luck, I can feel it now. Radomus was a pretty big wall, and I've been analyzing my team more every step of the way every time I stumble on a Gym Leader, PULSE boss, or what have you. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the climax and how things resolve, too, since I'm just training to fight Adrienn's Gym match. I'm having way too much fun to stop, I think! ,...Wait, I already said I was prepping for my next badge, oop. I'm sorry about that!

 

And, funny enough, I saw the site notification a few minutes before your reply, so I would not be surprised if it breaks. But I'm also happy to wait to see what's coming for the site, too!
