Playing two characters in one game at the same time?

I did it the earlier today on Army of Two just for fun, but then nostalgia; I used to do it all the time with some N64 games. For me, depending on the game, it'd be easy, it'd be hard, but inevitably it would turn into a clusterfuck but that was the fun part of it! One of the "interesting" challenges of games, doing two things and trying not to be mind-screwed.

Though it had a bit of a steep learning curve when it came to controlling two characters.
