Saving Rift Gardobor

I’ve been informed you can save Rift Gardobor, but I don’t know what steps you have to take to do so. Any help?

1. Go to the past timeline.
2. Then the same area where you eavesdrop Gardevoir and the cops, that sparkling item is a key.
3. Take that key to one of Kugearen’s building that was locked.
4. Go downstairs.
5. On the far right is where you find the diary.
6. That diary is used to save two rift Pokémon. One is Garbodor, and the other is much later on Chapter 14.
