Hi Gary, there's 2 things that you could possibly try:

 

1. Redownloading V11 and seeing if it still stays.
2. Check what area you last saved in during V10. Jan usually has a list of areas not to be in when updating in the download post (poke centers are usually a safe place to be during updates).
