So I heard there is a way to get Poipole in Episode 18, and it involves talking to a girl in Agate City about my Pokedex. I read that you need 731 Pokedex entries as well. My question is: do I need to CATCH 731 Pokemon, or that I need to SEE 731 Pokemon? Thanks!

You have to get the entries which can only d=be done by Catching them

Well, technically you can breed/trade/evolve them too - but yes, you have to own them at some point to get the Pokedex-entry required to get Poipole. (And in case you are wondering why 731: That´s the maximum number of pokemon obtainable at the moment (except Poipole/Naganadel of course)).
