Wolfox 2093
Right, so as we all know gen 7 added some new pokemon. From the cool ones like Mimikuy to the sh*t ones like toxapex(my personal oppinion there). Also did it bless us with Alolan forms. That sparked a question in me however; Will reborn have any Pokemon like that? Which ones would you like to see? Which ones do you think makes sence to have a "Rebornium" form and whhat type would they be? And ofcourse the most inportant question... Why do you think that? My suggestion would be the Ralts line Being Dark Fairy type instead of Psychic Fairy, or at least the one you obtain from the railnet. The reason would be that the corrupion of the Pokeball would have changed it's genetic's slightly and that the despair it felt while waiting for it's trainer literally tainted it. Timber Dragon 10
That's actually a cool idea, and it would make some in-universe sense, but I heard that Ame wants to keep the core Pokemon stuff like types and movesets as intact as possible. I can't think of any examples I'd want to see at the top of my head, but if such a concept were implemented, I dunno, maybe the starters could have their own forms?
Farnsworth 75
Reborn already has a sort of 'rebornium' pokemon in that there are shiny pokemon with unique colors/sprites. I agree that it would be could to see Reborn forms, but I wouldn't count on it since Ame wants to stay as close to the original games as possible.
Eloquent Liar 1
I'd actually have to say that it'd be too much for a game that's already as big as Reborn. Fun to speculate about, sure, but when you've already got PULSE mons to worry about, the field effect system, and a plot the size of Fern's ego, I don't think I personally would be able to handle more type-swaps than the ones already introduced in Sun/Moon. Wolfox 2093
All are fair points, yet seeing as it has pretty much been made Cannon that pokemon change thir typess to addapt to other regions and situations I could see Ame pulling a fast one on us. And ofcourse it could paint the way to make the game much more interesting.
Timber Dragon 10
Had Reborn not been nearing completion, and it was made closer to when Gen 7 came out, I could probably see Ame pulling something like that off. It's just that changing Pokemon types, even only a handful, would involve a DRASTIC overhaul of the game's balance. It's really mind-boggling how much thought Ame puts into choosing which Pokemon are currently available, based not only on strength that's reasonable for that point in the game, but if it's reasonable to find a certain kind of Pokemon in a certain area at all (e.g. many 'desert' Pokemon are currently unavailable because we haven't been to a desert area yet). At this point in time, so much work would go into revising into Pokemon catch rates, gym leader/boss teams, and even normal trainer teams, that it might not be worth it. Heck, Ame even mentioned that even implementing the canonical Alolan Pokemon would require a huge revision that she'd save for post-game content. Besides, with the complicated field effect system changing what kind of strategies you (and your opponent) can cook up with, the core Pokemon 'feel' is already being pushed as far as it can go while still feeling authentic.
