Hardcore Punk Rock 2: My Chemical Romance (A Pokemon Reborn Hardcore Poison-type Monotype Run)

Well, after playing through my non-recorded, non-challenge run version of the latest update of Pokemon Reborn Hardcore, I discovered Commander's new "Corey's Pokemon" Sidequest, and I though: "Hey, I still have to beat Pokemon Reborn Hardcore with only Poison-types!" So, I decided to drop everything and start a new run, this time using only Poison-types! I'll try to go back to the Ash run once I get the time, though.

I've considered a poison monorun but haven't been sure about it. I wish you good luck (and I recently discovered the Corey's mons quest and totally get the excitement from them!)

Thanks! I'm in college now, so I don't have as much time as I used to, but I'll try to keep this updated!

Update #1: Opening Act

Well, embarrassingly enough, I had to go through the opening battles three times (to be fair, though, the first time was because I got hit by a lucky Crit from Victoria, and the second time was because the game glitched). Anyway, on TEH URN, Cain led with his Nidoran, and Hemlock led with her starter, Guns N' Roses the Bulbasaur. He managed to take down the Nidoran with only half his health gone thanks to some opportune misses caused by Nidoran's Hustle, ending the fight!

On TEH URN, Victoria was tougher, but Guns N' Roses got past her Tepig. After each Pokemon traded tackles for three turns, Hemlock healed Guns N' Roses with a potion, allowing him to take out the Tepig with a few tackles! With the starter battles out of the way, it's time to take on the Peridot Ward!

As a matter of fact, it was! I figured that since I never finished it, and since the "Corey's Pokemon" quest got overhauled, I might as well try it again. Also, thanks so much for making this, and for crediting me in the game's ReadMe file!

Update #2: I Threw It On the GROUND

Well, considering he used one of the two types that my team is powerful against, Fern was actually kind of hard. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Kiss the Gulpin, and Fern led with his Lombre. After tanking a bubble, Kiss set up an amnesia, and tanked an astonish to shave off about a third of Lombre's health with a sludge. Fern then messed his pants from fear and sent out his Servine, and Kiss stayed out to tank a vine whip and poison it with a sludge! Fern tried to use his potions, but Kiss just kept attacking, forcing a desperate Fern to swap out to his Lombre again, which took massive damage on the switch from a sludge. While Lombre was able to land a lucky critical hit, Kiss was able to take it out with one last sludge, ending it!

Fern's Servine came out again, and Hemlock swapped out to Motley Crue the Grimer. All the weakened Servine could do was get off a single leer before fainting to a pound!

All that remained was Fern's ace, Roselia... and I have to admit, I got cocky. Hemlock sent out Justin Bieber the Trubbish, and he managed to land four acid sprays, but Roselia set up a growth and took him out with three mega drains. Hemlock sent out Evanescence the Stunky next, and she tanked a mega drain to land a fury swipes, but fainted to two mega drains, leaving Roselia with a net gain of HP. Guns N' Roses came out next, but while he was able to tank a mega drain and a poison sting to land three tackles, Roselia set up a growth and took him down with a mega drain. Running out of team members, Hemlock finally decided to show that she wasn't left-handed and sent out her own Roselia: Greenday the Roselia! That's why this update took so long; I had to grind up his friendship meter until he evolved. He shrugged off a mega drain and set up a growth, then tanked two more mega drains and a poison sting to KO Roselia with three mega drains of his own! With Fern finally down, it's time to head to the gym, meet Julia, and blow up some Meteors!

Update #3: Message to the World

Well, Aster and Eclipse could have gone a lot worse. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Evanescence, Fern led with Roselia, and Aster and Eclipse led with Electabuzz and and Magmar. After tanking a swift from Electabuzz and a clear smog from Magmar, Evanescence set up a poison gas on both Magmar and Electabuzz, and Roselia dented Electabuzz with a mega drain. However, I wanted Evanescence to get some EXP, so I swapped her out for Guns N' Roses, who tanked a clear smog while Fern's Roselia fainted to a fire punch. Guns N' Roses, after tanking a low kick and a feint attack, set up a leech seed on Magmar, and Fern's Lombre (which he sent out to replace Roselia) used... growl, of all things. Fern... are you stupid? Anyway, Guns N' Roses fainted to a feint attack, and Lombre did some damage with a bubble after tanking a fire punch. Justin Bieber the Trubbish came out next, and he promptly fell to a shock wave, while Lombre fell to an ember, leaving only Servine on Fern's side. Aster and Eclipse used their potions, but Servine was able to trap Magmar with wrap, and Kiss (who Hemlock sent out to avenge Justin Bieber) was able to set up an amnesia, tank a low kick and a feint attack, and dent Electabuzz with a sludge while Servine KO'd Magmar with a vine whip! All that was left was Electabuzz, who only got off a low kick before Servine ended it with a vine whip! With the Mosswater Factory in flames, it's time to take on Julia!

Update #4: Boom Boom Pow

Well, Julia was infinitely easier than she normally is. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Motley Crue, and Julia led with Magnemite. Magnemite went down pretty fast; it managed to land two sonic booms on Motley Crue, but he survived and took it out with a pound (to break its air balloon) and a mud bomb!

Up next came Julia's Emolga, and Hemlock swapped out to Justin Bieber. Surprisingly, rather than go for the KO with an acrobatics, Emloga decided to use two quick attacks, allowing Justin Bieber to set up two layers of toxic spikes. After he finished, Emolga did some more damage with a charge beam, but Justin Bieber was able to poison it with a poison gas. Finally, Emloga stopped messing around and used acrobatics, but even though Justin Bieber fainted, he was able to do some damage to it thanks to aftermath! Motley Crue came back out, and while Emolga got healed by a super potion, Motley Crue was able to disable its actobatics. He promptly fainted to a charge beam, but Greenday was able to come out and set up a leech seed while tanking a charge beam. Emolga promptly used nuzzle, but Greenday was able to take it out that very same turn through a combination of poison damage, leech seed damage, and a critical-hit mega drain!

Julia's Voltorb came out next, and Hemlock sent out Evanescence. She set up three smokescreens while the Voltorb set up a charge and fired off two charge beams (only one of which hit), and then she set up a focus energy and fired off a fury swipes while Voltorb missed two sonic booms! At this point, Julia used up her second and last super potion, but it ended up being kind of wasted; Evanescence was able to do massive damage with two sets of fury swipes, and that combined with the toxic damage took Voltorb down!

With half of her team down, Julia sent out her Chinchou, and Hemlock sent out Greenday (who had recovered from his paralysis thanks to natural cure). He set up a leech seed, but then got paralyzed, so Hemlock swapped him out for Guns N' Roses, who tanked an electro ball but got paralyzed by a thunder wave; fortunately, he was still able to land a vine whip, leaving the Chinchou weak enough to faint from poison damage and leech seed damage!

Julia, running out of options, sent out her Heliolisk, and Guns N' Roses stayed on the field. While the Heliolisk was able to set up a rain dance, Guns N' Roses managed to set up a leech seed, and although Heliolisk was able to recover some health with a parabolic charge, Guns N' Roses was able to do negate that healing with a take down! Unfortunately, Guns N' ROses was paralyzed for two turns in a row, allowing the Heliolisk to land two parabolic charges, but Hemlock was able to heal Guns N' Roses with a potion, and Heliolisk decided to use an eerie impulse for some reason. At this point the toxic damage and leech seed damage started to take its toll, and Julia, in a shocking move (no pun intended), swapped out to her ace: Electrode! Guns N' Roses missed a take down, essentially giving Electrode a free switch in, but was able to tank a sonic boom and set up a leech seed. He then swapped out to Kiss, who tanked a charge beam... and promptly fainted to a second one. Yay. Luckily, Greenday was able to swoop in and tank another charge beam, tank a charge beam, and end the Electrode through a combination of toxic damage, leech seed damage, and a mega drain!

All that was left of Julia's team was her severely weakened Heliolisk, and all it could do was set up a rain dance before Greenday ended it with a mega drain! With Julia defeated, it's time to save the Obsidia Ward!

Update #5: No Hiding Place Down Here

Well, Victoria was a little harder than I expected. On TEH URN, Victoria led with her Scraggy, and Hemlock led with Kiss. Kiss got hit by a sand attack and a feint attack, but managed to land two acid sprays; unfortunately, he missed a sludge, giving Victoria a free turn to heal Scraggy with a potion. Luckily, Kiss was able to tank a low kick the next turn, and ended it with a sludge!

Up next came Victoria's Kirlia, and Hemlock sent out Evanescence. Evanescence poisoned Kirlia with a poison gas while it set up a double team, and Evanescence then tanked a magical leaf and a disarming voice to set up a focus energy and took out the Kirlia with two sets of fury swipes!

Victoria's Poliwag came out next, and so Hemlock sent out Guns N' Roses. Guns N' Roses set up a leech seed while tanking a bubble beam and a mud shot, then fired off a vine whip that did massive damage! Victoria tried healing it with a potion, but Guns N' Roses was able to knock it out with a second vine whip!

Victoria's ace, Pignite, came after Poliwag... and this is where most of my problems came from. Motley Crue came out, and while Pignite failed to set up a sunny day thanks to the harsh winds, Motley Crue disabled sunny day. ...Okay, not my smartest move, but cut me some slack, I had no idea what move it was going to use. Anyway, Motley Crue survived a flame charge and an arm thrust and did some considerable damage with two mud bombs, but then he fainted to a flame charge. Justin Bieber came out to avenge him, and while Pignite failed to set up a sunny day twice and did negligible damage with an arm thrust, Justin Bieber poisoned it with a poison gas, lowered its special defense with an acid spray, and KO'd it with a sludge!

All that remained was Victoria's Makuhita, and Guns N' Roses came back out. He set up a leech seed while Makuhita set up a focus energy, and then did massive damage with a take down while tanking a force palm before KOing the Makuhita with a vine whip! With Victoria defeated, it's time to dive headfirst into the slums!

Update #6: Everyday Struggle

Well, the Scraggy gang was kind of tricky, but Hemlock got past them. On TEH URN, the gang led with Stallord and Dragonborn, and Hemlock led with Justin Bieber and Guns N' Roses. Justin Bieber set up a layer of toxic spikes while Stallord set up an iron defense, and Guns N' Roses hit him with a leech seed (try to shed off that!) and tanked a headbutt from Dragonborn. Justin Bieber then set up a second layer of toxic spikes, and Guns N' Roses fired off a razor leaf while Stallord completely failed to poison somebody with a toxic and Dragonborn hit Justin Bieber with a feint attack. Justin Bieber then poisoned everyone with a poison gas while tanking a feint attack, and Guns N' Roses dented everybody with a razor leaf while Stallord shed its skin and set up an iron defense. Guns N' Roses smacked everybody with a razor leaf, and Justin Bieber lowered Stallord's special defense with an acid spray. He then promptly fainted to a brick break from Dragonborn, but his aftermath KO'd Dragonborn, leaving Stallord to hit Guns N' Roses with a drain punch.

Kiss came out next, as did Tyson on the gang's side. Tyson was able to damage Kiss with a thunder punch and Stallord was able to recover some health from Guns N' Roses with a drain punch, but Kiss and Guns N' Roses were able to take out Stallord with a sludge/razor leaf combo!

Up next came Big Boss himself, leader of the Scraggy Gang! Big Boss hit Guns N' Roses with a swagger, but he managed to land a razor leaf anyway, and Kiss landed an acid spray on big Boss while tanking an ice punch from Tyson. Unfortunately, Big Boss took out Kiss with a payback, and Guns N' Roses injured himself while Tyson hit him with a thunder punch. Greenday came out, but he missed a leech seed, and got hit by a thunder punch while Big Boss ended Guns N' Roses with a brick break. Luckily, Tyson fainted to poison damage, and Motley Crue was able to come out. She landed a pound while Greenday tanked a brick break and set up a leech seed, leaving Big Boss weak enough to get KO'd by a mega drain from Greenday! With Greenday down, it's time to take on Cain in the Coral Ward!

Update #7: Smooth Criminal

Well, Cain was actually kind of tricky. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Grimer, and Hemlock led with Motley Crue. Motley Crue managed to lower Grimer's accuracy with a mud bomb, causing Grimer to miss an acid spray; Grimer's accuracy fell further with a second mud bomb, but then it used minimize, allowing it to dodge a third mud bomb while Cain healed it with a potion. Possibly fearing a stalemate, Cain swapped out to his Venonat, and Motley Crue landed a pound on the switch. She then used poison gas to corrode the misty terrain while Venonat disabled pound, and began spamming mud bomb; however, the Venonat did massive damage to her with two confusions, so Hemlock swapped her out for Evanescence, who set up a focus energy while Cain healed Venonat with a potion. She then began chiseling away at it with a fury swipes, tanked a bug bite, lowered its accuracy with a smokescreen which allowed her to dodge a second bug bite), and tanked one last bug bite to end the Venonat with two sets of fury swipes!

Up next came Cain's freshly-obtained and evolved Dewott, and Evanescence stayed on the field. She fired off a smokescreen, but Dewott was able to land a razor shell and take her out. Guns N' Roses came out next, and he dodged a razor shell to take it out with two razor leaves!

After Dewoot came Cain's ace, Nidorino. It set up a focus energy while Kiss launched two acid sprays, lowering Nidorino's special defense to abysmal levels; however, Kiss was then taken out with a poison tail and a horn attack, so Justin Bieber came out to avenge him. He dodged one horn attack and tanked another one, and took out the Nidorino with two sludges!

Cain's Grimer came back out, and Justin Bieber lowered its defenses with an acid spray. Sadly, he fainted to an acid spray and a shadow sneak, but was able to severely damage Grimer thanks to field-boosted aftermath damage. Motley Crue came out swinging to finish what she started, and tanked a shadow sneak to KO it with a mud bomb!

All that remained was Cain's Gastly, so Hemlock swapped out to Greenday, who paralyzed it with a stun spore and set up a leech seed while tanking a night shade. He got confused with a confuse ray, but was able to fire off a few mega drains regardless, allowing him to take it out! With Cain defeated and Amaria back on track, it's time to save the Obsidia Ward!

Update #8: The Wall

Hemlock actually had a pretty easy time with the PULSE Tangrowth. On TEH URN, she led with Kiss, and he tanked a mega drain to set up a yawn and an amnesia. The Tangrowth set up a growth, but promptly fell asleep, allowing Kiss to begin spamming acid sprays. After landing three, the Tangrowth woke up and did some damage with a knock off, but Kiss was able to tank it and a mega drain and retaliate with a sludge. ZEL used their super potion, but Kiss just fought back with a sludge and set up a yawn while tanking a knock off. Unfortunately, by this point he was kind of weak, so Hemlock healed him with a super potion- just in time, too, as hit took serious damage from a critical-hit knock off. Luckily, by this point the Tangrowth fell asleep, and it stayed asleep long enough for Kiss to take it down with three sludges! With the Obsidia Ward mostly saved, it's time to challenge Florina!

Update #9: Good Old Days

Well, Fern was kind of easy, although at points he did give Hemlock a bit of a run for her money. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Justin Bieber, and Fern led with his Ludicolo. Justin Bieber set up two layers of toxic spikes while tanking a tri attack and two water pulses; sadly, he ended up getting confused by the water pulse, and fainted to a third water pulse. Luckily, Kiss (now a mighty Swalot!) was able to come out and shrug off a bullet seed and a water pulse to lower the Ludicolo's defenses with an acid spray, although he ended up getting confused by said water pulse and injured himself in confusion. Luckily, he managed to stay focused long enough to tank a second water pulse and end the Ludicolo with a sludge!

Up next came Fern's Grovyle, and Hemlock sent out one of her newest team members, Rihanna the Koffing. Rihanna tanked a pursuit and did massive damage with a sludge, forcing Fern to use a super potion twice, however, neither time it did any good, as Rihanna just kept spamming sludge. Grovyle desperately tried using a fury cutter, but Rihanna laughed it off and took it out with a sludge!

Fern's toughest Pokemon- his Ferroseed- came out next, and Hemlock sent out her other newest team member to deal with it: her Nidorino, Elvis! Elvis did some damage to Ferroseed with two double kicks, but took serious damage from iron barbs and two seed bombs, causing him to faint halfway through a third double kick. Luckily, Motley Crue managed to tank a curse-boosted gyro ball and end it with two mud bombs!

Fern's psuedo-ace, Servine, was sent out next, and Kiss came back out. Servine did a laughable amount of damage with two leaf tornados, and fainted to an acid spray and a sludge! Moving on...

All that was left was Fern's Roselia, and Kiss stayed on the field to deal with it. Unfortunately, he was overleveled, so he refused to use acid spray, giving Roselia a free turn to set up a growth. He took some damage from two mega drains, but was able to land an acid spray (although he loafed around for a turn). Roselia set up a leech seed, and Kiss desperately used two more acid sprays before fainting to a poison jab and leech seed damage. Luckily, the Roselia kinda broke its arm punching him out, as Rihanna was able to tank a mega drain and end it with a sludge! With Fern down, it's time to really take on Florina!

Update #10: Darude Sandstorm

Well, Florina actually only went down after one battle, although that battle was pretty darn tough. On TEH URN, Florina led with her Cacturne, and Hemlock led with Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber set up two layers of toxic spikes while Cacturne fired off a needle arm and its own layer of spikes; unfortunately, Cacturne then used teeter dance, causing Justin Bieber to injure himself in confusion. This let Cacturne take him out with a feint attack, but he was at least able to dent it with aftermath damage. Fortunately, Rihanna (who came out next) was able to swoop in, tank a feint attack, and do massive damage with a sludge, which poisoned the Cacturne and took it down!

Up next came Florina's Grotle, which came out swinging with two seed bombs; however, Rihanna survived and did massive damage in return with two sludges. After a turn of healing on both sides, Grotle set up stealth rocks, but took massive damage from a sludge, forcing Florina to heal it again; unfortunately for her, though, Rihanna kept up the offensive pressure with a sludge, causing her to swap out Grotle for her Tropius. Tropius set up a dragon dance while Rihanna fired off two sludges, then harvested a few sitrus berries to heal itself and set up a second dragon dance; however, Rihanna expected this and made its setting up for naught with a clear smog. It tried to use a leaf blade, but RIhanna laughed it off and took it down with a sludge!

Florina's Grotle came back out... and I have to admit, I got cocky. Hemlock sent out Motley Crue, and he tried to take it out with a pound, only for it to use synthesis twice, pretty much healing itself back to full health. Motley Crue set up a minimize (which let her dodge a sand tomb) and tried to use a mud bomb and a pound while tanking a seed bomb, but Grotle kept healing itself with a synthesis. Eventually, though, through a combo of repeated pounds and toxic damage, Grotle was whittled down to the red again... only for Florina to swap out to her Breloom, who laughed off a pound and a mud bomb and took out Motley Crue with a retaliate and a seed bomb. Kiss came out, and he set up an acid spray while tanking a drain punch, then tanked a retaliate and ended it with a second acid spray!

Grotle came back out, but Hemlock was ready for Freddy for it this time, as Kiss took it out with an acid spray! Kind of anticlimactic, eh?

Anyway, up next came Florina's Gourgeist, and Kiss managed to tank a shadow sneak from it... only to disobey Hemlock because he was overleveled. Hemlock healed him with a chocolate ice cream, letting him survive a bullet seed, and he managed to do some damage with an acid spray, but then Gourgiest slammed him with a disable, causing him to waste a turn. To my surprise, Florina swapped out to her Cradily while Kiss set up an amnesia, and it set up a curse while Kiss set up another amnesia. Kiss ignored orders, letting Cradily set up a sandstorm, but by then Kiss was no longer disabled, letting him lower Cradily's special defense with an acid spray. Unfortunately, after getting off one last acid spray, Cradily ended him with a rock slide, but Rihanna was able to swoop in. Florina, justifiably terrified of Rihanna taking out her ace, swapped out to her Gourgeist, which promptly fainted to a sludge on the switch.

All that remained was the weakened Cradily, and the poor thing didn't stand a chance. Hemlock swapped back out to Elvis, and he took it down with a double kick! With Florina defeated, it's time to save the Jasper and Beryl Wards!

IM doing a eletric monotype run and would like to ask you what was your hardest challenge?

I cheesed out on Arceus by using a Seel with perish song but that was the only time i actually used a non eletric pokemon on a fight. I just couldn't accept i couldnt beat it with my eletric team and i wasnt gonna side with El.

I'd say that consistently, Florina was the biggest hurdle I had to face, followed by Julia, the first Solaris battle, and the double battle against Taka and ZEL. Florina's team is incredible for that point in the game, and with the limited amount of Pokemon the game gives you, you more often than not have to brute force her. This applies to Julia and Taka/ZEL, too, although Taka/ZEL is also hard since they have 9 Pokemon and you have only 6. Solaris, with his overleveled OU team, should be self-explanatory.

Update #11: Another Brick in the Wall, Part 1

Well, Taka was tricky, but Hemlock managed to get past him eventually. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Justin Bieber, and Taka led with his Lileep. Justin Bieber started spamming acid spray, and Lileep used an ancientpower, set up an ingrain, and fired off a confuse ray, causing Justin Bieber to hurt himself and letting Lileep launch two ancientpowers, leading to Justin Bieber's demise. Fortunately. Rihanna was able to swoop in and KO Lileep with a sludge!

Up next came Taka's Gligar, and Hemlock swapped out to Kiss. Kiss badly poisoned Gligar with a toxic, and tanked a knock off (which failed to swat off his black sludge, thanks to sticky hold). He then survived an acrobatics and started spamming acid spray, shrugging off a bulldoze in the process. After Hemlock healed him with a chocolate ice cream, he tanked an acrobatics and did massive damage with a sludge, ending Gligar and making Taka waste a super potion!

Taka decided to stop messing around and sent out his ace, Chatot, and Hemlock kept Kiss on the field. Kiss survived a hyper voice and set up a toxic, then tapped out to Evanescence, who fainted to a hyper voice instantly. Rihanna came out next, but she fainted instantly to a hyper voice, so Kiss came back out and got healed by a chocolate ice cream, letting him survive a hyper voice and set up an amnesia. He then got healed by a chocolate ice cream while Taka used a super potion, and shrugged off a chatter (although he did injure himself in confusion and got put to sleep by a sing) to stall out the Chatot and KO it through toxic damage!

Up next came the PULSE Tangrowth, and Kiss stayed on the field despite being asleep. He tanked a sludge bomb while sleeping, then woke up and set up an acid spray while tanking a giga drain. He spammed another acid spray while the Tangrowth used knock off, and did massive damage with a sludge. The Tangrowth tried to set up a growth, but it ended up fainting to another sludge!

All that remained was Taka's Klefki, and Hemlock swapped out to Motley Crue (one of the few members of Hemlock's team who could hit it). She tanked two foul plays and dodged another, and spammed mud bomb like there was no tomorrow, but fainted to a fourth foul play. Luckily, Guns N' Roses was able to swoop in and set up a leech seed while the Klefki set up a light screen, then tanked a foul play to KO the Klefki with a razor leaf! With the Jasper Ward saved, all that's left is to save the Beryl Ward!

Update #12: Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2

Well, Taka and ZEL were brutal as always, but Hemlock somehow managed to muscle past them. On TEH URN, she led with our newest team member and mystery egg hatchling, Hatsune Miku the Tentacool, and Kiss, while ZEL led with their Glaceon and Taka led with his Lileep. Hatsune Miku set up a layer of toxic spikes and tanked an ancientpower while Kiss badly poisoned Glaceon and Glaceon fired off an icy wind. After that Hatsune Miku set up a second layer of toxic spikes and Kiss used amnesia while Glaceon used another icy wind and Lileep continued to hit Hatsune Miku with ancientpowers. Hatsune Miku then healed herself with a morning sun (in case you're wondering, Hatsune Miku was originally a Growlithe egg that Despair Syndrome edited to be a Tentacool egg, so she got its egg moves; I decided to keep morning sun because why not) while Kiss badly poisoned Lileep, Glaceon hit Kiss with an ice fang, and Lileep boosted all of its stats with an ancientpower. Lileep then planted roots with an ingrain, and Glaceon landed one last quick attack on Kiss before fainting to two acid sprays and toxic damage!

Up next on ZEL's side came their Jolteon, and Hemlock swapped Hatsune Miku out for Guns N' Roses- a smart move, since Jolteon used thunder fang, which didn't do much to Guns N' Roses. Lileep confused Kiss, causing him to hurt himself, but Guns N' Roses was able to heal him with a super potion. Jolteon hit Kiss with a double kick, and Lileep confused Guns N' Roses with a confuse ray, but Kiss was able to land an acid spray on Jolteon. Kiss tanked a thunder fang while Guns N' Roses tanked an ancientpower, but Kiss hurt himself in confusion; luckily, Guns N' Roses was able to pick up the slack with a razor leaf, which landed a crit on both Jolteon and Lileep! ZEL made a quick judgement call and swapped their Jolteon out for their Espeon while Taka healed his Lileep, but it took some damage on the switch from an acid spray (although Guns N' Roses injured himself). The next turn, Guns N' Roses finally fainted to an ancientpower and confusion damage, but Kiss was able to tank a psybeam and do serious damage with a sludge! Hemlock sent out Evanescence, and while Kiss stomached a swift (get it 'cause he's a stomach) Evanescence mortally wounded Espeon with a slash, letting Kiss end it with an acid spray!

Jolteon came back out, but before Hemlock could take it out it got healed by a super potion; however, while Evanescence healed Kiss with a berry ice cream, Kiss was able to do some damage to it with a sludge and tank a mega drain, while Lileep finally fainted to toxic damage!

Taka's Gligar came out next, and although Evanescence took massive damage from a charge beam, she was able to get off one last toxic before fainting to an acrobatics. Kiss, meanwhile, did some damage to Jolteon with a sludge. Rihanna came out to avenge Evanescence, and after tanking a thunder fang and an acrobatics she lowered Gligar's accuracy with a smokescreen, and Kiss ended Jolteon with a sludge!

Up next came ZEL's last Pokemon: their Umbreon. Rihanna fainted to an acrobatics, but Kiss was able to badly poison Umbreon with a toxic and tank a feint attack. Hatsune Miku was able to come back out, but fainted to an acrobatics immediately; Kiss, meanwhile got confused and injured himself. Motley Crue came out, and she set up a minimize while Umbreon and Gligar both hit her with a quick attack; Kiss, meanwhile, injured himself in confusion once again. Taka quickly swapped out to his Klefki while Motley Crue set up another minimize, and Umbreon hit Motley Crue with a feint attack while Kiss hit Umbreon with an acid spray. Klefki set up a light screen and Motley Crue took damage from a feint attack, but Kiss was able to KO Umbreon with an acid spray and poison damage!

Unfortunately, Motley Crue was only able to damage Klefki with one mud bomb before she fainted to a foul play, leaving Hemlock with no way of damaging Klefki. With no other option bar restarting the fight, Hemlock used her only revive on Hatsune Miku, and she set up a morning sun while Klefki set up a reflect and Kiss set up an amnesia. Hatsune Miku them began spamming water pulse; after 5 turns, it finally went down (although Hatsune Miku was paralyzed in the process)!

Taka sent his Gligar out next, and while it took Hatsune Miku out with a knock off, Kiss was able to end it with a sludge!

Taka, running out of options, sent out his ace, Chatot. It set up a nasty plot and confused Kiss with a chatter, but Kiss was able to badly poison it before he got confused. Chatot set up a second nasty plot, but Kiss was able to land an acid spray and tanked a hyper voice to... injure himself in confusion. Luckily, he was able to get healed by a potion, and tanked a chatter to stall out the Chatot's poison damage, causing it to faint!

All that remained was the mission's keystone: the PULSE Tangrowth! Kiss tanked a knock off and ended up hurting himself in confusion, but snapped out the next turn and lowered the Tangrowth's special defense with an acid spray. After tanking a second knock off and firing off another acid spray, Kiss was finally able to end the Tangrowth with a sludge, ending the fight! With Team Meteor's plans foiled, the overseer of the PULSE Tangrowth project gets revealed, and shock-horror, it's Corey, the next gym leader! Time to finish him off!

Update #13: Jump

Well, Corey was actually easier than he normally is for me, but that might be because I'm using all Poison-types, which are immune to the field. On TEH URN, Corey led with his Quilfish, and Hemlock led with Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber tanked a bubble beam and set up an acid spray, then tanked an icy wind to fire off a second acid spray. Hemlock healed him with a berry ice cream, and he tanked a bubble beam and a venoshock to lower the Quilfish's defenses with a third acid spray. He then survived two signal beams and took out the Quilfish with one sludge bomb!

Up next came Corey's Nidoqueen, and Hemlock swapped out to Rihanna. Rihanna set up three smoke screens while tanking an ice punch and a bite and dodging a second bite. She then swapped out to Guns N' Roses, who set up a leech seed and put the Nidoqueen to sleep while dodging her attacks (although it took three sleep powders to finally put it to sleep). He then spammed razor leaf, and when the Nidoqueen woke up he managed to tank a bite and take her out with a critical-hit razor leaf!

Corey's Swalot was sent out next, and so Hemlock swapped out to Hatsune Miku, who had evolved into a Tentacruel after the Taka and ZEL battle! She tanked a venoshock and two shadow balls to lower the Swalot's defenses with three acid sprays, then healed herself with a morning sun while it used ice beam. All it could do was land one last ice beam before fainting to two water pulses!

Corey's toughest Pokemon for me, his Scolipede, came out next, and Justin Bieber came back out. He set up an acid spray and healed Rihanna with a berry ice cream before he fainted to two rock tombs, and Rihanna came out to avenge him. Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and had Rihanna use clear smog, forgetting that it would revert the Scolipede's special defense back to normal. When I realized how little damage Rihanna was doing (and after she got hit with a venom drench), I had Hemlock swap her out for Kiss... who also got hit with a venom drench on the switch. Regardless, he tanked a bug bite to set up an acid spray, although before he fired off a second one he got hit with another venom drench. Hemlock swapped him out for Rihanna again, and tanked two rock tombs to land two clear smogs (because again, I'm an idiot). She tried using sludge and got healed by a berry ice cream, then tanked one rock tomb and dodged another to KO the Scolipede with two sludges!

Corey, running out of options, sent out his Skuntank. Hemlock swapped out to Hatsune Miku, and she tanked a flamethrower to set up two acid sprays. Unfortunately, she got hit hard by a night slash and kept taking serious damage from night slash every time she tried to heal, so after two morning suns I decided "screw it" and went for a hail-Mary shot with a water pulse... which actually confused the Skuntank, causing it to KO itself! That was hax, but I don't even care!

All that was left was Corey's ace, Crobat. Hemlock sent out Kiss, and he tanked a hidden power fire to set up an amnesia. Unfortunately, the Crobat set up a nasty plot while he landed an acid spray; it still wasn't able to deal obscene damage to Kiss with an air slash and venoshock, though. Kiss was able to lower its special defense to the minimum with two more acid sprays, then unfortunately flinched to an air slash. Luckily, despite being hit by two more air slashes, he didn't flinch again and was able to KO the Crobat with two sludges! And so, Hemlock earns... nothing but a front-row seat to Corey's suicide. Yay. Well, at least now I can capture his Pokemon, r-right?

Update #14: Thriller

Well, the Not-Corey was actually harder than the real McCoy! On TEH URN, it led with its Garbodor, and Hemlock led with Hatsune Miku. She shrugged off two giga drains and fired off three acid sprays while the Garbodor set up a stockpile, and then ended the Garbodor with a water pulse!

Up next came the Not-Corey's Beedrill. Hemlock swapped out to JustinBieber, who fainted instantly to a drill run; fortunately, he was able to knock off roughly half of the Beedrill's health with aftermath damage. Hemlock sent out Rihanna next, and she tanked an x-scissor and an endeavor to set up a smoke screen and do some damage with a sludge. The Not-Corey used its first super potion, and Rihanna set up two more smoke screens while tanking a poison jab.. She then began spamming sludge; after two sludges, she got hit by a lucky x-scissor, and decided to swap up her strategy, using assurance instead of sludge. It actually worked better, and she knocked it down to the red before the Not-Corey used up its last super potion to heal it. After three more assurances, though, it was knocked down to only a sliver of health... but managed to land an x-scissor, KOing Rihanna. Kiss came out... and promptly got hit by an endeavor, lowering him to 3 HP. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ Um, anyway, Kiss then set up an amnesia, and dodged a drill run to KO the Beedrill with an acid spray!

The Not-Corey's own Swalot came out next, and it set up an acid armor while Kiss got healed by a berry ice cream. Kiss then set up two amnesias while tanking two ice beams, and tanked a shadow ball to fire off an acid spray. Infuriatingly, though, he got frozen by an ice beam the next turn, but Hemlock was able to thaw him out with an aspear berry the next turn while he tanked a shadow ball. He then tanked two ice beams to lower the Swalot's defenses to nothing with an acid spray, and began spamming sludge; the Swalot tried to land three ice beams and a shadow ball, but Kiss was able to end it with his nonstop barrage of sludge!

With half of its team down, the Not-Corey sent out his Scolipede next, and Kiss remained on the field. Kiss tanked two poison tails and a bug bite, then lowered the Scolipede's defenses to nothing with three acid sprays. All it could do was fire off one last poison tail, and it went down!

The Not-Corey, running out of of options, sent out its Vileplume next, but it was kind of a pushover. It used two venoshocks and a dazzling gleam, but Kiss was able to take it out with two acid sprays and a sludge!

With no other option, the Not-Corey revealed its true form: Corey's Haunter! Kiss bravely stayed on the field to face it, and he tanked three shadow balls to lower its defenses with three acid sprays. By this point, however, he only had a sliver of health, and so Hemlock used her trump card: her ultra potion! This let him survive another two shadow balls, and he began spamming sludge like there was no tomorrow! After four sludges, Kiss got healed by a super potion, allowing him to tank a few more shadow balls and end the Haunter with three more sludges, leaving him with a total of 7 HP! With the Not-Corey defeated and its team scattered, it's time to recruit them!

Update #15: California Babylon

Well, Aster and Eclipse weren't actually that bad! On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Hatsune Miku, and Victoria led with her Emboar. Emboar whiffed a sucker punch and Hatsune Miku set up a layer of toxic spikes while both the Solrock and Lunatone set up a rock polish, which boosted their attack and special attack in addition to their speed. Yay. Solrock set up a second rock polish while Lunatone took out Hatsune Miku with a psychic, but Emboar was at least able to damage Lunatone with an arm thrust. One of our new team members, AC/DC the Scolipede, came out next, and Emboar ended the Lunatone with a sucker punch while he dented Solrock with a bug bite and tanked a heat wave from Solrock!

Aster's Rhyhorn came out next, and although Aster healed his Solrock with a super potion, AC/DC and Emboar were able to seriously dent Solrock with a fire punch/bug bite combo! Sadly, AC/DC fainted to a take down from Rhydon, so Guns N' Roses came out to avenge him. Aster used up his and Eclipse's last super potion on his Solrock, and while Emboar whiffed a sucker punch, Guns N' Roses tanked a dragon rush and did massive damage to both Solrock and Rhyhorn with a razor leaf. Emboar finally managed to take out Solrock with a sucker punch the next turn, and Guns N' Roses was able to KO Rhyhorn with a razor leaf!

Aster and Eclipse sent their aces- Electabuzz and Magmar, respectively- out next, but while they did relatively meager amounts of damage with a swift and a feint attack, respectively, Emboar was able to slam Magmar with a sucker punch and Guns N' Roses hit it with leech seed! Unfortunately, while ELectabuzz still continued to do meager amounts of damage the next turn, Guns N' Roses somehow missed a razor leaf on both targets while Emboar got confused and injured himself. Emboar got trapped in a fire spin the next turn and injured himself again, but Guns N' Roses was able to KO both Electabuzz and Magmar with a critical-hit razor leaf!

All that remained was Eclipse's Milotic. Emboar snapped out of confusion, but used the very unhelpful bulldoze, which knocked Guns N' Roses within an inch of his life. Luckily, he was able to set up a leech seed, and was able to survive a water pulse and team up with Victoria's Scraggy and KO Milotic with a mighty razor leaf/payback combo! With Aster and Eclipse down and Victoria rescued, it's time to challenge Shelly!

Update #16: Battle Hymn of the Republic

Sorry for the delay in updates; I haven't had much free time recently. Anyway, Victoria was kind of easy. On TEH URN, Victoria led with her Scraggy, and Hemlock led with Alice Cooper. Scraggy was kind of a joke, as Alice Cooper was able to KO it in one turn with a dazzling gleam!

Up next came Victoria's Gallade, and Hemlock swapped out to AC/DC. He landed a rock tomb, lowering Gallade's speed, but ended up fainting to a psycho cut. Foo Fighters came out next, and he managed to do some damage with a shadow ball while the Gallade set up a swaords dance. To counteract this, Foo Fighters set up an acid armor, but took massive damage from a psycho cut regardless; luckily, just when I thought he was a goner, he managed to land a critical-hit shadow ball, ending the Gallade!

Victoria's Poliwrath came out afterwards, and hemlock swapped out to Guns N' Roses. Guns N' Roses was able to set up a leech seed, but Poliwrath set up a rain dance, activating its swift swim. Despite this, Guns N' Roses was able to fire off a razor leaf, but ended up getting swapped out for Foo Fighters when Poliwrath used a circle throw. Foo Fighters fainted to a waterfall almost as soon as he came out, but his defeat let Guns N' Roses come back in and KO the Poliwrath with two razor leaves, making Victoria waster her two super potions in the process!

Victoria decided to stop messing around and sent out her ace, Emboar, so Hemlock swapped out to Hatsune Miku. She shrugged off a brick break, and did massive damage to the Emboar with a water pulse. The Emboar was able to do more damage with a sucker punch, but Hatsune Miku was able to survive, and ended the Emboar with a water pulse!

All that was left was Victoria's Hariyama. Hatsune Miku stayed out, but she fainted to a fake out, forcing Hemlock to send in Alice Cooper. The Hariyama took massive damage from a dazzling gleam, and took even more damage when it tried to use a belly drum, but it healed off some of the damage with its sitrus berry; however, that wasn't enough to save it, as Alice Cooper took it down with one last dazzling gleam! With Victoria defeated, it's time to challenge Shelly!

Update #17: Forget You

Well, Shelly (whom I fought in the perma-rain) was pretty tricky, but Hemlock was able to get past her. On TEH URN, she led with her Masquerain and her Illumise, and Hemlock led with Foo Fighters and Hatsune Miku. The Masquerain and Illumise fired off a struggle bug each, and Foo Fighters launched an ice beam (which didn't really do much damage due to the special attack drops) while Hatsune Miku set up a layer of toxic spikes. Foo Fighters then swapped out to AC/DC, who tanked a scald while Hatsune Miku got confused and injured herself. Hatsune Miku spent a turn healing AC/DC, and AC/DC, despite getting confused, was able to end the Masquerain with a rock tomb!

Up next came Shelly's Armaldo, which got poisoned as it was swapped in thanks to the toxic spikes. AC/DC took advantage of this to set up a venom drench, and Hatsune Miku tanked a bug bite and a struggle bug (which didn't lower her offenses thanks to clear body) to... injure herself in confusion. Yay. Luckily, Hemlock was able to heal her with a berry ice cream, and AC/DC was able to lower Armaldo's offenses further with a second venom drench, while both Illumise and Armaldo weren't able to do much damage with a struggle bug and a bulldoze, respectively. AC/DC injured himself in confusion the next turn, but Hatsune Miku was able to KO the Armaldo with a mighty brine that turn, and all Illumise could do was fire off a weak struggle bug!

Up next came what was arguably Shelly's most threatening Pokemon: her Yanmega, Heather. AC/DC got healed by a berry ice cream, and tanked an ancientpower to fire off a rock tomb, doing massive damage to Heather while Illumise used struggle bug. In a shocking move, however, Shelly swapped her Illumise out for her Vespiquen; it didn't matter at first, though, as AC/DC was able to KO Heather with a rock tomb while Hatsune Miku hit Vespiquen with a brine!

Unfortunately, this is roughly where the battle took a nosedive. AC/DC got confused by Illumise and injured himself in confusion, and then fainted to an attack order from Vespiquen while Hatsune Miku hit Illumise with a brine. As a result, Foo Fighters came back out, and while the Illumise healed itself with a moonlight, he slammed it with a venoshock and Hatsune Miku injured the Vespiquen with an acid spray; sadly, she fainted to an attack order the next turn. Rihanna came out next, and after Shelly healed Illumise with an ultra potion she was able to do massive damage to Vespiquen with a sludge bomb while Foo Fighters kept whacking Illumise with a venoshock and Vespiquen did some damage to Foo Fighter with an attack order. Luckily, despite getting confused, Rihanna was able to take out Vespiquen with a sludge bomb the next turn while Foo Fighters hit Illumise with a venoshock, leaving it with only a sliver of HP!

All that remained (in addition to Illumise) was Bugsy, Shelly's Volbeat. Shelly healed her Illumise with an ultra potion while Bugsy instantly set up a tail glow, and poor Rihanna injured herself in confusion while Foo Fighters took off a chunk of Bugsy's health with a venoshock. Bugsy and Illumise then both fired off a struggle bug, causing Rihanna and Foo Fighters to do surprisingly little damage with a sludge bomb and a venoshock. Bugsy and Illumise repeated this combo the next turn, taking down Rihanna and leaving Foo Fighters with only a sliver of health and a pathetic damage output. Guns N' Roses came out next, and while Foo Fighters fainted to a dazzling gleam and Illumise set up a confuse ray on him, he was able to fight through the confusion to end Bugsy with a mighty razor leaf! Alice Cooper came out next, and despite being confused she was able to end the Illumise with a venoshock, ending the fight! With Shelly defeated, it's time to report Corey's death to the authorities!

Hey, remember when I used to update this? Yeah, those were good times. Anyway, let's fix that.

Update #18: Why You Gotta Be So Rude?

Well, Fern wasn't too bad, but I did do some grinding to get all of my team up to speed before him, so that might have had something to do with it. Fern led with his Ludicolo, and Hemlock led with AC/DC. AC/DC managed to do massive damage with a bug bite on Ludicolo, but then Ludicolo set up a rain dance (making it faster than him) and burned him with a scald. AC/DC still put up a good fight, though, and managed to make Fern use up his first super potion and knock it back down to the red before succumbing to burn damage. Guns N' Roses came out next, and while Fern used a second super potion Guns N' Roses did some damage with a critical-hit razor leaf... only to get burned by a scald himself. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ Um, anyway, he then took massive damage from an ice beam, but was still able to hold on long enough to KO Ludicolo with two more razor leaves! He then promptly fainted from burn damage, but hey, he did his best.

Up next came Fern's Serperior, and Hemlock sent out a new member of our team: Queen Latifa the Nidoqueen! Serperior set up a coil and did insane damage with an aqua tail, but Queen Latifa was able to KO Serperior with two sheer force-boosted poison jabs!

Fern sent out his ace, Roserade, next, and Hemlock swapped out to Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters did some damage with an ice beam, but took serious damage from an extrasensory, so I had him spent his last turn healing Queen Latifa with a berry ice cream... but to my surprise, Fern derped out and swapped his Roserade out for his Ferrothorn! In response, I had Hemlock swap Foo Fighters out to Evanescence (who had evolved!) and had her use flamethrower on Ferrothorn, which not only did serious damage but also burned it! This let Evanescence survive a gyro ball and KO it back with another flamethrower!

Fern's Sceptile came out next, and Hemlock swapped out for Hatsune Miku. She tanked a leaf blade and negated the Sceptile's white herb with an acid spray, then miraculously dodged a leaf storm to damage it some more with a second acid spray. While Sceptile took her down the next turn with a leaf blade, Evanescence was able to come back out and KO it with a flamethrower after tanking a leaf blade!

All that remained was Fern's weakened Roserade, and Hemlock sent out Queen Latifa. She tanked an extrasensory and left Roserade with just a sliver of health, then returned the favor to Foo Fighters by healing him with a berry ice cream before she fainted to a seocnd extrasensory. Fortunately, this let him come back in and end Roserade with a mighty ice beam, ending the fight! Time to get the key from Cain!

Update #19: We Are The World

Cain was actually pretty easy compared to Fern! On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Guns N' Roses, and Cain led with Samurott. Samurott was actually pretty anticlimactic; all it did was land a single revenge while Guns N' Roses spammed Razor leaf, and although Cain was able to slightly heal it with a super potion, it still ended up fainting to a storm of razor leaves!

Cain sent out his Muk next, and so Hemlock swapped out to Queen Latifa. Muk was able to do some chip damage with a shadow sneak, but Queen Latifa was able to end it with a few bulldozes; not even the use of a super potion could save it!

Cain decided to send out his ace, Nidoking, next, and Hemlock sent out Hatsune Miku. Nidoking barely scratched her with a shadow ball, and she was able to retaliate with a mighty brine; seeing this, Cain freaked out and swapped out to his Venomoth. Matsune Miku continued to shrug off a signal beam and a sludge bomb, and fired off an acid spray, but got slammed by a sleep powder and ended up fainting to a second signal beam. Luckily, Hemlock had a new team member: Good Charlotte, her own Venomoth! Good Charlotte tanked a signal beam and was able to retaliate with a mighty psybeam, ending the Venomoth!

Cain's Nidoking came back out, and so Hemlock swapped out to Foo Fighters. Nidoking acted kind of stupid at first, using a thunderbolt instead of going for the kill with an earth power, which allowed Foo Fighters to injure it severely with an ice beam; however, Nidoking promptly took his smart pills and KO'd Foo Fighters with an earth power. Good Charlotte came back out, and she was able to tank a thunderbolt with 5 HP left and ended it with a mighty psybeam!

All that remained on Cain's team was his Haunter, so Hemlock swapped out to Evanescence. Compared to the Not-Corey, the fight against Haunter was actually pretty easy, as all it did was fire off two sludge bombs before fainting to two night slashes! With Cain down, we get the key... or not, since he runs off after Heather, who showed up while we were battling. But hey, at least we don't have to break into an orphanage and eventually fight a spoopy ghost thing, right?

...Right?!

Update #20: Welcome to the Machine

Well, Shade was actually really tough! Hemlock only barely managed to get by him. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Evanescence, and Shade led with his Rotom. Rotom, despite usually being one of his toughest Pokemon to take out, went down pretty easily this time; all it did was fire off a single shadow ball, and Evanescence was able to KO it with a night slash!

Up next came Shade's Golurk, so Hemlock swapped out to Guns N' Roses. He tanked a drain punch and did some damage with a razor leaf, but then Shade pulled a surprise move and swapped out to Corey, his Gengar. While it did get kinda dented by a razor leaf on the switch, it Mega Evolved and ended Guns N' Roses with a shadow ball. In response, Hemlock sent out Queen Latifa, who promptly got confused by a confuse ray and injured herself; however, she then managed to survive a shadow ball with three HP remaining, and took it out with a bulldoze!

Shade's Golurk came out again, and Hemlock sent out Hatsune Miku to stop it. Unfortunately, she fainted to an earthquake, but she was able to do some damage with a brine before going down. Evanescence came back out, and while Shade used up his two ultra potions, Evanescence was able to keep spamming night slash until the colossus fell!

Shade sent out his Dusknoir next, and Foo Fighters came out to stop it. Oddly, even though Shade could have easily had Dusknoir use earthquake to KO Foo Fighters he... didn't, and instead had it use shadow claw, which let Foo Fighters survive long enough to KO it with three shadow balls!

Shade's arguably most threatening Pokemon- his Aegislash- came out next, and Hemlock swapped out to Alice Cooper. Unfortunately, she flinched to an iron head, and with no hope for KO'ing it, decided to spend her last turn healing Queen Latifa with a berry ice cream before fainting to an iron head. Queen Latifa was able to do massive damage to it with a bulldoze after tanking an iron head, but was left with only 13 HP, so Hemlock spent the next turn healing her with a berry ice cream, only for her to get knocked back down to 23 HP thanks to another iron head. Deciding to go for glory or death, Hemlock had Queen Latifa use bulldoze, despite knowing that Aegislash was faster than her... and shockingly, Shade swapped out to his Chandelure, which took massive damage from the Bullzdoze! Hemlock then tried healing Queen Latifa again, but she fainted pretty fast to two flamethrowers. Thus, Foo Fighters came back out, and he healed Evanescence with a super potion before fainting to a flamethrower, letting her survive a shadow ball and end it with a night slash!

With Chandelure down, all that remained was the severely weakened Aegislash. As to be expected, Evanescence was able to roast it with a flamethrower, ending the fight! With Shade defeated and the power restored, we get to see... our new friends get kidnapped by Team Meteor. Yay.
