Just don't talk to Serra after beating her Gym Battle, and if the second thing I mentioned happens, just post your save in the Troubleshooting forums.

I'm not really a huge Froakie fan though, I might go for something like... Fennekin, Mudkip, or Turtwig... You don't have to start again. Oh yeah, how many trainer sprites are there, and can I switch between all three of them freely?
