iowayshay 2 Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 Ok, so I haven't seen most of the Pokemon anime, and I wasn't allowed to play videya gams until I turned 13. Subsequently the first pokemon/general video game I ever played was Emerald. Basically, I don't know much about the first two gens, story wise. Sooo, Lance was originally an Elite Four member, right? But then he became Champion? How the hell did he do that? Like, this question is ruining my life right now. How does an Elite Four member become champ?? HOW DO YOU BEAT YOURSELF IN A POKEMON BATTLE? Idk if this was ever explained but if it was please tell me because I've been thinking about this for hours and I am so distraught right now. Link to post Share on other sites

Seeing as the champ in gen 1 was your rival, you beat him and become champion. The character, Red, in gen 2 is presumed to be the playable character from gen 1. Seeing as he seemed to have secluded himself on Mt. Silver, Lance would be brought up to Champion seeing as he was highest up. Link to post Share on other sites
