Like everyone else, I'm having trouble beating Radomus and looking for advice on how to use my team better. Here's my current team:

    Pokemon: Charjabug

    Level: 55

    Item: Exp. Share

    Ability: Battery

    Nature: Rash

Moves: X-Scissor, Charge, Discharge, Iron Defense

    Pokemon: Arcanine

    Level: 58

    Item: Lax Incense

    Ability: Intimidate

    Nature: Gentle

Moves: Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Safeguard, Close Combat

    Pokemon: Scrafty (Shiny!)

    Level: 57

    Item: Protective Pads

    Ability: Moxie

    Nature: Brave

Moves: Payback, Brick Break, Rock Climb, Thunder Punch

    Pokemon: Nidoking

    Level: 58

    Item: Black Sludge

    Ability: Sheer Force

    Nature: Brave

Moves: Toxic Spikes, Shadow Claw, Strength, Poison Jab

    Pokemon: Greninja

    Level: 57

    Item: Wave Incense

    Ability: Torrent

    Nature: Hardy

Moves: Water Pulse, Smokescreen, Water Shuriken, Extrasensory

    Pokemon: Musharna

    Level: 56

    Item: Twisted Spoon

    Ability: Synchronize

    Nature: Rash

Moves: Psychic, Moonlight, Future Sight, Calm Mind

I prefer to use this team if possible so they can gain the EXP, but I have two Pokemon in storage that might be worth switching out and trying to level up for this fight:

    Pokemon: Kricketune

    Level: 52

    Item: None

    Ability: Technician

    Nature: Hasty

Moves: Night Slash, Sticky Web, Bug Buzz, Perish Song

    Pokemon: Passimian

    Level: 46

    Item: None

    Ability: Defiant

    Nature: Modest

Moves: Double-Edge, Fling, Close Combat, Reversal

    Thanks!

Try sending out kricketune on the first round and use sticky web. Because of the enemy’s magic coat, sticky web will bounce back and your next mons will get their speed lowered instead. Under trick room, bam now you are faster than the enemy! Additionally make musharna your king and boost with calm mind. Maybe that should work?

  2. Galvantula can use sticky web as a lead instead of thunder wave, then you can switch choice scarf for something else for primarina. Garchomp can use swords dance, and unless you need the raw power, people don’t usually mega evolve garchomp cuz of the speed drop. Maybe rocky helmet is better to punish physical attackers. And finally because reborn is very speed oriented, usually I only run max speed natures. That’s just my opinions, but otherwise it’s a very solid team!

New update (3.5a) is out with some bug fixes! ~

Check out the download link on the front page!

hm hm hmm. the only thing that comes to mind is:

-start the game on an old version of the mod so that you can access everything, this will be necessary else i dont think Ill be able to help!

-use debug to empty your item bag if you have errors popping up while inside the bag

-and for each pokemon from gen 8, or mons that you believe have gen 8 moves learned, via debug you have to reset the moves of each individual pokemon!

this can be very tedious depending on how much you've been using the gen 8 additions! but as you said, the moves and items have been changed around so theres no other way around it that i know about ._.

Thanks so much!! It’s quite tedious but worked like a charm! Will update here if I find any other bugs :)

  4. Hi! I have a save file of a somewhat old version of this mod, when only gen 8 and hisui was implemented, and I believe the code is quite different than what it is now. I tried updating my game into the latest version, and i met some bugs in my old save file, mostly because of items and moves being assigned different numbers in the game. Is it possible for me to continue playing this save file? Or should I start a new one? Thanks!

I'm attaching a bug report (while opening the bag) and my save file below:

  5. I’d say cinderace. Blaziken is an all out attacker but cinderace while also an attacker, can also provide great utility to the team with court change and u-turn. It’s also less predictable with libero.

  6. That’s because reborn’s movesets and egg groups are based on gen 7. Avalugg was only classified in the monster egg group in gen 7, the mineral egg group was added in gen 8. Try using probopass instead.

Hi, looking for some help with Florinia's gym. My current team is:

    Lvl 36 Blastoise

    Lvl 28 Arbok

    Lvl 26 Sunkern

    Lvl 29 Musharna

    Lvl 26 Liepard

    Lvl 32 Meteo

Obviously, the fact that all my Pokémon are above lvl 25 is a pretty big issue, since they don't always obey me, but this was the only way I could find to beat Fern. I even had to remove Cherubi from my original party and replace it with the Meteo because Fern's Roselia was such a problem that I felt I needed a fire type move to deal with it. I'm willing to change my team if necessary. I was kind of banking on my Blastoise being key to winning this battle, but he seems fairly useless in my attempts thus far. Thanks!

Your team is surely good enough for the gym, especially with meteo setting up sun and arbok. Musharna can also beat breloom no problem. Just buy common candies and level them down to lvl 25 and you’ll be fine.

  8. I’d still recommend snivy for an awesome mid game experience, hidden abilities can be obtained by reset. Reborn has plenty of good mons in the early game, so you don’t have to worry about lacking a starter until lvl 43.

Bulbasaur and charmander are quite mid in reborn imo, at least in early game, but if you insist, I’d take charmander because of dragon rage.

  9. I agree with Valor that you should reorganise your team. A good team needs sweepers, pivots, wall breakers and preferably supports. Sweepers are win conditions for late game, having boosting moves like swords dance or quiver dance, like your blaziken, serperior. Wall breakers can deal a lot of damage instantly, like greninja or m-metagross.

The main problem with your team is that roles are very redundant, and you don’t have pivots and supports, which I at least recommend adding a pivot. Rotom is excellent at this job because of levitate and volt switch, you can predict a ground-type move from the enemy, send in rotom, then use volt switch to safely send in another mon. As for supports, it’s optional but I don’t recommend the healing type of support like wish users because reborn is very fast paced, but you can add a tank/status inflicter/entry hazard to cheese the enemy. Any bulky mon with healing moves and toxic can do the job, like clefable or umbreon (moonlight heals extra in new world). Toxic is super useful against enemy clef and arc pulse.

As for your current team, I’d recommend keeping blaziken, greninja and maybe metagross. Blaziken can have protect for speed boost, and I prefer HJK over low kick but that is up to you. Change greninja’s nature to timid if you aren’t running physical moves. Metagross can have zen headbutt instead of the elemental punches, and maybe agility for sweeping.

Other than rotom, some other good mons include aegislash (bulky sweeper), volcarona (quiver dance), shuckle (power split for cheese), scizor (very versatile, I prefer bulky sweeper with roost, but u-turn pívot is also good)

I think a potential issue with that strategy is that Glitch Field makes Air Slash physical, so the Nasty Plot boosts won't do anything for it (they would still work defensively though, so with enough flinches you might be able to work something out)

Oops forgot bout that XD it’s been a while since I’ve played reborn :’)

  11. Togekiss might be able to sweep her in a few tries. First boost with nasty plot, glitch field makes it so that both SpA and SpD are boosted. Then spam air slash all the way, and give it HP grass instead of ancient power for unaware quagsire. Even if it doesn’t sweep, I think it can make a big dent in her team.

I got Sneasel after my 12th Gym Badge. Instructions can be found on static encounters page.

I'm just wondering what would be ideal EV's. Attack and speed?

Yup! Weavile is a glass cannon so it would make sense to maximise its attacking power and speed. Reborn tends to have its enemies having a max speed nature, so I’d also recommend max speed nature (jolly) for weavile to outspeed as much enemies as possible.

  13. If you want a ground/fire resist, I think rotom-w might work, but I’m not sure if it will synergize well with your team. In my team it functions as a pivot (volt switch) and status inflict (will-o-wisp), and its ground immunity is quite valuable. I think umbreon will work also, especially for toxic stalling, and as you said, cleric. Although I don’t think u need a cleric very much since your team is full of setup sweepers which often only needs to boost and sweep once. But of course you can train some extra mons for standby.

Another thing is I find your metagross’ set very interesting XD first time seeing screens support metagross but I think it’s really creative! Maybe you can give it explosion to safely send in your sweeper after screens are up?

  14. Regarding your aegislash, the moveset I will use is kings shield/swords dance/iron head/shadow sneak, then give it an EV spread of 252ATK/252SPDEF. Kings shield already is a way of lowering the enemy’s attack (thus increasing your defense), so IMO iron defense is a little redundant. Aegislash doesn’t have a way to increase sp.def, so maximising it would be a good way to mitigate that. Shadow sneak is changeable with other moves depending on the situation, like secret sword etc.

Excadrill/krookodile is also a bit redundant since you have repeating types, I’d suggest changing one of them to rotom maybe, rotom is a really versatile mon (will-o-wisp, volt switch) and you can change its form depending on the situation. Normally I like to keep rotom-wash but that is up to you :)
