PRESENTING: MISS CUI-QUAN
IN A STARTLING DEBUT ...
IN A SUDDEN CHANGE OF SCENERY ...
Under extraordinary circumstance, "Celeste" often caught herself contemplating in code name.
Intuition told her this was not normal procedure, but also that this was a place she wanted to be-- accurately, it was a place she didn't not want to be. For
whether "Celeste" recalled the set-up for being seated here was irrelevant to the girl; she was made anxious by the prospect of being the only person seated there, therefore implying a sort of spotlight on her. That in itself implied she was playing the goddamned PI for once-- she didn't want to get into why she wasn't already. It would spoil her mood.
Were detectives supposed to be detached? There weren't many ladies heading noir films, so she didn't have much of a basis. Regardless, her impulsivity sometimes bothered her, and while she was measuring the fundamentals of investigation, and while she had no impetus for proactivity, she could be the cool and collected Lady Celeste. The PI in powder-blue who always knew what to do.
The goal was simple: to find a chain hanging, or a switch on the wall. The obscurity of the room made it indeterminate to recognize anything about it. Though, from whatever distance she was positioned, she managed to make out a door. (Why would she want to leave so soon?)
She was, temporarily, proud of herself for keeping her head. She had even managed to sit still for a solid minute. All she needed was a cup of coffee and she could be like Emilia or something. ...but she had been selfish.
"Oh, shit." On one hand, she loathed the dependency. On the other, losing an entrusted sidekick left a sense of terrific emptiness.
Celeste waves at the reciprocal mirror in a broad sweeping gesture. "Hey, excuse me? Yoo-hoo! I've heard too many changing room horror stories to know somebody's gotta be watching me right now.
"I left my drink upstairs in the cubicle area, seventh floor of the PDA building. (Gosh I hope this is the PDA building.) Could you, like, grab it for me? Before, you know, whatever."
