  1. Marl fires at Swordsman B, this time not bothering with his boast and instead simply going for the center of mass.
  2. The arrow sails across the breeze before finding a gap in the swordsman's lack of leg armor. It makes a wide gash in the warrior's thigh before being caught behind the warrior's knee, producing two lacerations and severing the tendons in the process. The man collapses to the ground, unable to walk, before shortly passing out from the pain. The young noble who crippled this swordsman smirks and ruffles his cape in pride.
  3. Marl confidently steps forward to E-2 before closing the book with a loud "THUMP" and handing the Fire tome back to Aidan. "Shame I don't have a bookmark on me. I've tried using arrows, but they often ruin the paper. I was getting to the practical parts, too." He then turns to the enemy and draws an arrow from his quiver. "Alright, whoever's interrupted my reading is getting a broadtip lodged in their tendons. Courtesy from House Denuvic."
  4. Marl made nearly no response whatsoever, other than waving Anea away. He simply continued absorbed in the tome, occasionally trying to draw small glyphs in the air, slowly and with care, though to no magical effect.
  5. Marl quickly snapped the surprisingly heavy tome from Aidan's hand. "It's good to see that I'm in polite company. Thank you." He immediately cracked open the grimoire and dove into its contents, losing all regard for his surroundings even while still marching.
  6. Marl was restless. The lack of a carriage meant he had to leave his study materials behind, and firing at stones and birds had tired him. He held little interest in smalltalk during the journey, as well. "Speaking of, I'm booored. Anyone got something to do?" He then turned to Aidan. "Hey, you. Can I borrow your tome? My mind is going to atrophy at this rate without something to do."
