  1. WHAAAAAAAAAT?! You didn't join the Kingpin? Shame on you to side with those water losers D; But daaaaaaamn. that pony is looking .... hot x)

The fight vs Shelly was super interesting. Usually Anoriths elemental seed is giving me quite the headache. Not only did you counter the Raindance but you also countered Anortih with your Vulpix, really nice!

Really liked this episode :3 too bad we didn't see much of Doge, but I'm counting to see more of this good boi.. girl in the next episode ~

Weird thing is that Archeops isn't even overly powerful like Slaking or Wishiwashi; its stats are very lopsided towards sweeping, but it's not like it's the only Pokémon with specialised stats like that.

I always felt that poor Archeops got unfairly gimped - not because of the negative ability (it's really frail, so Defeatist will come in less often than Archeops just plain going down in one hit), but more because it can't have any actually useful Abilities.

I can't really agree with that. Archeops is surely no god-like pokemon, but it is seriously powerful as proven in my flying-monorun. Most of the time you don't even have to worry about defeatist or a 1HKO, because it outspeeds and 1HKO almost everything itself. Even if defeatist gets activated, it still deals quite the damage thanks to 155 BP Acrobatics and with Rock Slides flinch it can win deal some extra damage with a bit of luck. I'll agree that Archeops isn't suited for pvp where there are only Pokemon with monstrous stats, but in Reborn Archeops easily becomes one of the strongest Pokemon I've ever used.

I would still preffer if Fly was available earlier, but we would still need to defeat Ciel to make it usable out of battle.

Would help some poor birds with decent stabs...

If there is one thing the birds don't need, its even more power. Flying-type has strong STAB anyway. Drill Peck, Brave Bird, Acrobatics, Air Slash, Hurricane

  4. Uhhh, first one too vote. Party hard.

Anyway, as I like reading good runs, yes plz, do a run for us. I voted for the other themed run, as I would love to know with what kind of theme you'll come up with. And as third I voted for videos, as I found these easier to follow than screens and because I think it is less work to do videos instead of screens. Wouldn't mind narration in the videos either.

Ame has said the reason Fly is available so late is because if it was usable before Reborn City is restored, flying back there would take you to the new Reborn even if you hadn't gotten to that point in the game yet.

On that point, I heard from my little brother that he had an interesting thing happen to him. Quite the reverse thing though, with teleporting from New Reborn into Old Reborn.

  6. You could also get yourself a Barbaracle. It's not fast itself, but it learns Shell Smash or Rock Polish for nice speed.

Another option would be to take your team as it is and just get yourself a Trick Room setter.

    - Drinking a glass of water before going to bed will reduce a possible hangover.

    - Always brush your teeth at least twice a day.

    - Don't forget to floss.

    - Don't leave animals or small children unattended in a car.

    - Never ask when the next episode of Reborn will come out.

    - Always eat your soup. If you don't eat your soup you might starve.

    - Respect your parents.

    - Thou shall not kill.

I think after the restoration it's impossible to go back to this place at all.

Sigilyph must have really low encounter because I can only find Unown, Natu or Xatu.

Yep, thats true, but it's still there. I got one myself and used it in my Flying Monotype. Pretty awesome Pokemon it is.

  9. 19 minutes ago, Kashya said:

Btw. Is Sigilyph still avaiable on the Citae Astrae rooftop in Ep16 version? Of course before the restoration of Reborn City (and before beating Arceus).

Before beating Arcues it is. Dunno about after beating Arceus or restoration of Reborn City.

    Chapter IX: Devon [Last Chapter]

The last chapter in Ep. 16 and the last chapter in this Monorun. I don't intend to take the run up again in Ep. 17. Anyway, in this chapter it's getting hot! At least for Adrienn. The raid of the Devon Corp building is always annoying for me, as it takes time to navigate through all those electro shocker ground plates. I'm betting my ass it was Sigmunds idea. Little advise: Any Ground type won't get affected by the electro shocks. Pokemon with the Magic Guard or the Volt Absorb ability won't either. Dunno about Electro-types without Volt Absorb though.

    My first

    vs Kiki [Devon Corp]

    Spoiler

The first fight in the arena is vs Kiki. It was actually the toughest fight I ever had against her, mainly because of the changes I did in my team. 3 of my Pokemon were weak against her Lucarios Steel typing, 3 of my Pokemon get neutral damage from her Fighting typing. In the end I simply let Archeops do the job he's paid for: sweeping.

    vs Ciel [Devon Corp]

    Spoiler

Once again I was surprised at how well my Flying types could handle electrics, Arclight went down without much resistance or the need to rely on Archeops or Honchkrow. Though I did went 'Oh come on' when his Exploud crit-killed Sigilyph. Anyway, sorry Arc. I hope you'll turn a blind eye on me there.

    vs ZEL [Devon Corp]

    Spoiler

At my first try I used Aerodactyl as a lead, but since Aurorus has Sturdy there was no option to OHK it. Then I'd thought about setting up Sigiliyph against it, since Magic Guard keeps away the Hail. Everytime it used Thunderbolt I sent a quick prayer to god to not let Sigilyph get paralyzed. And it did not, though that didn't make difference. And then Honchkrow happend and yeah... never thought it could be this easy to win against ZEL at this point.

    vs Adrienn [14. Gym]

    Spoiler

Ahhh, Adrienn. Well xe was once again no real challenge. I won against xe in the first try, Sigilyph being MVP after setting up without any resistance. Using Ierodactyls Ironhead on Togekiss instead of Rock Sliding was a mistake though, because of which the fight wasn't as clean as I would have liked it.

    Conclusion:

Since this is the end of my Flying monorun, of course I'm going to say a bit about it. I was kind of shocked about the non existing difficulty of this run through. I was never a fan of the Flying type but DAMN it is seriously overpowered. Every fight of the Early Game is dominated by Charmanders Dragon Rage and Charmander wins pretty much everything up to and including Shelly. One has type advantage against all three Pulse Tangrowth, against two of your rivals. There are two Fighting type and one Grass Type Gym leader. One of the two weakness of the Flying type is the very first Gym, which is getting dominated by Dragon Rage. Steel and Rock Gyms are still missing as of Ep. 16. Flying Pokemon are some of the fastest Pokemon ingame, resulting in almost always outspeeding the enemy and striking first. Pretty much any of your Pokemon can learn the great recovery Roost. Your offensive power is awesome and there are even some defensive Flying types, like Gliscor, Altaria or Sigilyph. The type covarge of Flying types via second typing is awesome, though I'll admit that Steel and Rock typings are a small problem, as one doesn't get access to Ground or Fighting moves till the midgame, which is why Rock is more annoying than Steel.

My opinion is, that this monorun was pretty easy. There wasn't any oppenent that gave me too much of a trouble and many of the oppenents I thought that would rip me a new one, were really tame and easy to beat. Though there are some fights that aren't as easy as others, the further one progresses, the easier the fights get. Only in the late mid game and early late game there will be some trouble I'd say.

I'd say the real MVP of my run is Archeops. Since the Spinel Town it carried lots of fights and stomped tons of oppenents before me. It's offensive power is unbelievable and even though it's kind of a glass cannon.

Pokemon I would recommend: Charizard, Archeops, Sigilyph, Honchkrow, Crobat, (Togekiss), (Noivern)

Yeah.. that's it from me. Cya around o/

This MIGHT be possible, with a whole load of luck, but, even so, the mentality that "oh, they want me to be the successor of the champion's throne, so I must never lose a battle" i just not realistic. You go to the top just because you have experienced defeat many times and kept getting on your feet and climbing. Not because you never lose.

I never said anything about the mentality behind that, I was just talking about the possibility of never losing. Of course one has to lose first to learn, but that is looking at reality. Reborn is a game and one can easily look up oppenents and their tactics before battling enemies and use experience from already finished run through. I had over a dozen runs where I played up to Radomus before even finishing the episode even once because I always started a new run to try out different tactics and trying to find the 'perfect' game. Of course I fucked up dozen and hundreds of times, so even if I did manage a run where I wouldn't loose a single time, I wouldn't be at the top because I never lost. I would be there because I lost often, but in another run through.

So what I want to say is: I don't think it is wrong to aim for the 'no-loss' run through.

Must have an extreme form of OCD to 100% change your team every time to fully counter the opponent. I still call bs. Have run through reborn four times, and every time someone gave me trouble.

One doesn't need 100% changes, but I think each Gym leader is possibly deafeted with the right 1-3 Pokemon. I'm always having trouble too, but mostly because I often refuse to use certain Pokemon for various reasons. And except for Pulse Swalot there wasn't a single fight I did not win on first try at least once. Thus I conclude if one seriously wishes too, it is possible to play the game without losses. Though you won't get Beldum :D
